    This right here is the truth. I've got two of these and they outperform every other mobile antenna I've tried. The price is fair, the quality is good, and the money goes to a better cause.

      I heard that too ... I've heard that it has no coil in the base and it's a Half-band antenna and therefore performs extremely well onto the VHF band, UHF also. And it can easily put in pocket of your blouse to take it with you. I don't have these antenna's because here in the EU they don't sell them, well... i didn't found one. Maybe somebody knows ?

    Another great aspect of these is they roll ip really easy. So you if you have a more square case for your radio, they fit nicely. Great performance. Wish I had gotten that advice on the adapter before I bought as bunch of antennas. For various radios. Still nice that each just has its own signal stick, but I wish they had the quick disconnect of the BNC adapter

    You were lucky. Mine was defective and had bare wire showing. Also, could not remove antenna from adapter. Won't purchase from them again. Guess they don't check quality prior to shipping.
    UPDATE, I was able to remove the antenna from the adapter
    .

    You forgot to say why BNC.
    For those that do not know, BNC has the longest wear-with-all of all radio ports.
    Correct me on this if I am wrong. They also have the lowest loss as well...

    Adapters are cheaper at Amazon, but I love the Signal Stick antennas and I agree they are the ones you need. I think, based on my experience, that Nagoyas are overrated. And why would you buy a 10W maximum power Nagoya when you could get a 100W maximum power Signal Stick? Don't believe me? Do a range test with both antennas.
    I have a Radtel RT-470 which has about 14W output on VHF and 12W on UHF. Another great thing about Signal.Stick antennas is that they work very well on GMRS frequencies (you don't have to buy a special antenna like you do with Nagoyas). Do you need better reasons to pick up a few?

    Its a real shame that the signal stick at checkout to send to Australia is about $70!

    I’m not sure why you call it a reverse?
    On the signal stuff website, they call it “M or F”.
    Male or Female.
    The baofeng needs a
    (SMA-F to BNC-F) adapter just $5

    • @samvore2963
      @samvore2963  Год назад

      You are correct. Male and Female. A lot of lingo for newbies found in the inter webs use the SMA and “reverse” SMA which is actually male and female as you pointed out. Great comment, and thank you for tuning in!

      signal stick are making a SMA-F antenna so no need for adapter

      Probably because it is confusing as hell for prospective hams for an 'antenna' to have a port then call it male...
      Bad enough we are doing this on a social level...

      exactly my thoughts. I want to order but no customer service. To many unanswered questions. I have a yaesu ft 65 It's has a "reverse bnc" I watch the video and they call it Male /female. and never show the inside of adapter, so we can see to determined whats up......he just screws it on. So the mystery continues

    if you are doing to put a BNC adapter on all your radios then Signal stick is not the solution, its the adapter. you are complaining about having different SMA connectors, they are the problem, not the cheap antennas.

    Does Signal Stick make an Antenna to handle MURS, HAM & GMRS/FRS, frequencies ?

    • @samvore2963
      @samvore2963  Год назад +1

      From SignalStuff site: The dual band is designed for 2 meters / 70cm (144/440Mhz) but also works adequately on MURS, SAR, and GMRS frequencies. The 440 monoband also works on GMRS frequencies

    If you live anywhere cold, the stick will be flopping by your waist.

      True they do go limp in the cold. I have found while using in the cold that it has not been a deal breaker.
