Key/Keyer Mouse Mod Interface for Online Morse Code
Просмотров 3487 месяцев назад
I’m not the first to do it but it’s an affordable way to use a straight key or paddle/keyer when doing Morse online at Ham Solutions on VBand, or at lcwo.net. Goodwill has plenty of orphaned mice to make this an affordable option.

My transceiver has no built in keyer. I saw some use of these and found it for under $10 and checked it out. It keys, has some memory, and includes a tune command. I’m happy.

TP-Link Deco M5 - Love, Hate but Love

Upgrade to the homestead. Three pack had a dud unit and it was a hassle trying to get TP-Link service. Since the two working units were really effective I returned the three pack in favor of three individual Deco M5. Working great so far.

KD1JV Code Trainer - Successful Assembly!
Have bought a pair of those LA-5's from goodwill over the last 2 years. One cost 5.99 and the other was 7.99. They aren't terrible little amps for what they are either, especially since you can literally grab one and take it anywhere
I have a 2002 Cavalier that needs the same thing done so I am going to try it. I thought your video was very good. I will comment back when I get it done too hot today maybe tomorrow
Did it work, it’s happening to me right now ?
Looks pretty easy but i think i can make it difficult, given the chance (which is happening tomorrow).
How id it go?
@@samvore2963 I was able to resolve the problem with some good old-fashioned lightbulbs. I didn’t go with LED because I couldn’t see the cost benefit of the minuscule energy savings they may realize at five times the cost.
@@samvore2963 also when I took my tail lamp out, the snaps were very brittle… They are probably almost 30 years old and therefore snapped, so I had to use a little red duct tape. A full assembly replacement is down the road for me, so I appreciate your video.
What’s the second song?
Don’t waste your money. They are marginally better than stock.
do you have to add water after you’re done ? or the system will do that when it regenerates
In this system the manual specifies addition of water when setting up the brine tank. The system does add water when recharging but the set up instructions have the owner add water during set up.
Got mine today, $20, a little finicky during programming. Slowest speed is around 20wpm. After about 15 minutes of playing with it, the play back of stored strings was garbled then it just grunted. No obvious loose wires or solder bridges. Back to China it goes.
Thanks, first time for me. I hope you have some more videos. I can work on my car with, Thanks
Isnt that a sign the resin is bad
Best mechanic on RUclips!!!
These are selling for $20 now, still a good deal.
I'm on my second pair I love them. they're comfortable and I even wear them off work. I see by your that they all wear the same way. I didn't know until after I bought a new pair that the inside of shoe can be repaired. the back of the heal wore out and they didn't fit well anymore, felt like they were gonna come off my feet while walking. you can fix your old pairs if you wanted
You were lucky. Mine was defective and had bare wire showing. Also, could not remove antenna from adapter. Won't purchase from them again. Guess they don't check quality prior to shipping. UPDATE, I was able to remove the antenna from the adapter .
Signal Stuff offers a lifetime warranty. If defective they will repair or replace.
@@samvore2963 I sent pictures and am waiting for a response.
“Just clean up some of there caps here” 🤣 Ty!
This wasn't explained very well.
Me too
I can’t find it for less than $19
Todo en español por favor
I found mine at a goodwill too lol it was good for a while until it broke 😢 but I used the heck out of it! Very cool little amp
Wow thanks for sharing
I just installed a J-pole for GMRS in my attic, basically just stuck it on a wooden dowel for height, made the 4-5 wraps like mentioned in this video, radio is 20 watts, works great ! Easily hit a repeater 5 miles away. Many mentioned how clear and strong my radio was. Just fyi.

Oooh, I love the idea of getting was at Goodwill! I'm one of many that just uses drier long but up until now I've been buying paraffin. I know what I'm loading up on the next time we're at a thrift store! Thanks you😊
just picked up this amp for 50 cents at a church sale!
Contemplate life is the best part i will do while working on rachet
That’s really cool. I’ve been thinking about building some custom length XLR cables for my garage. Never done any soldering.
How did the lead wire get connected to the fuse is that solderd
Soldered to circuit board and the board has plug for the test lead.
Thank you, Michael. N0QFT
Is there something you can purchase to translate the message coming back into word?
There are Morse code decoders that can display words from Morse messages, yes!
@@samvore2963 Thank you for the response
I like those containers. I have 3 of them to keep cigars handy. Then larger totes with a gasket for the other cigars. Good job on the video and thanks for sharing.
I use a DX Engineering crimp tool and their PL-259 connectors. For this 78-year-old guy, this crimping is a BEAR. I end up using a vice to close the crimp tool all the way! But, I get it done. I'm not all that good at this either. Sometimes I screw up a couple connectors before l get a non-shorted connector. Lemme tell ya, "Gettin' old ain't for sissies"!
At the smoke shop they use acrylic and wood racked humidor display. This a quick cheao build if that, i suppose.
70 with mars/cap mod was my first decent ht as a new ham, just got the ft-5 on sale. They rock
Is it okay to touch the iron to the chip board? Won’t it burn/damage the board?
Its a real shame that the signal stick at checkout to send to Australia is about $70!
I would have tried to attack the back ones from underneath, if I had the tools to do so.
if you are doing to put a BNC adapter on all your radios then Signal stick is not the solution, its the adapter. you are complaining about having different SMA connectors, they are the problem, not the cheap antennas.
Great video dude! Basic but direct to the points 😊
Can you still use as a mouse ?
Not this one. I took the wheel and some other parts out. Probably could still have it be a working mouse. I’ll try it!
Thanks for the video. Does MX K2 support Iambic keys i.e, squeeze typing.
Mine run as Iambic B. Yes. Menu is limited so I do not know if Iambic A is possible, but squeexe keying in B works for me.
Tha but I actually don't know what Lambic A and Lambic B mean. Can you explain it to me?@@samvore2963
All that time and effort and didn’t go LED LAME. FAIL
I wouldn't have paid 5x as much for an LED. What would be the benefit of going with LED for this purpose?
Жжелезно
I have bought 3 of these from 2 different vendors on Ebay. One was the 150 Amp version and the other 2 were the 200 Amp version. The display on all three quit units working shortly after installing them. They still pass current through them....but the display went black on all three. I would not recommend them at all.
I add magnesium shavings and road flare dust…… guaranteed to burn HOT and not get blown out in rain or wind……
Michael KB9VBR dose a great job on the J pole's. I purchased a 6m J pole from Michael and it's dead on flat SWR and a screamer of an antenna. KB9VBR is a good choice. Any J pole is a good choice. Tried and true design.
"My baalun" ??
got that very same one on my engwe engine x ebike. mounted it on the handlebar and works fine. prior to fitting I'd already done about 13 miles with my 2 battery setup. 48v fully charged is about 54v and so I wasn't surprised when the meter showed 50.5v. have to say it's quite accurate. the reason why I bought it is the battery segments on the bikes lcd can vary in accuracy from bike to bike, I know the cutoff is 39v. plus I like seeing the big draw on current when you max out the bike😂
..set up a beacon with that keyer...
too fucking humid.
