We may not have asked for or paid for this, but we couldn't have asked for a better job if we had! Thanks for the support, and kudos on the video! ... now I know why I've been selling so many orange antennas recently, I guess...
Absolutely my pleasure. Love what you guys are doing and love the antennas. Just wanted to spread the love.
I love these antennas as well!! Have them on all of my HT's. One thing that I do is that I buy the SMA/BNC adapters of both genders and only buy BNC Signal Stuffs. I never have to worry about the F-SMA/M-SMA/BNC compatibility.
Pulled the trigger and bought one. I have a rubber duck on my FT-65R. This will be a big improvement. Thanks, Mike! 73
You'll never see any of my HT's without one. I absolutely love mine.
DE N2GSL - In order to protect the fine SMA threads I install an adapter to BNC. In addition to protecting the SMA connector on the HT if all of your HTs have the BNC adapter then switching antennas becomes easier and universal.
Bnc is the way too go!!
Thanks for this. I’ve been on the fence about these, but I think I will try one now. Thank you Mike
bought one a week prior to watching this video. waiting for it to arrive, am very excite
Good choice!
I sure love my Signal stick antennas. They do tend to whip me in the face when on my running hydration pack though. Thanks Mike!
Ive been using this antenna on my HT’s for the past 3 years. I love them, except for how easy they are to poke an eye out, lol.
Fine video Mike,
I too love these antennas, KG6HQD recommended them when I started doing SOTA and they are amazing.
My two goto antennas for HT portable opreating are the Signalstick and my Ed Fong role-up Jpole. For comparability and ease of deployment I have added the sma to bnc adapter to my Yeasu VX-7R and couldn't be happier. I will be getting an orange one next for my Emcomm HT. This was a nice PSA video Mike. Thanks again...🤘😎👍
Just bought two. mike you seem to have a high degree of influence over my perception of ham radio. Ha ha thanks for your work and support of hobby. K8MST
You have chosen wisely. Great antennas.
Love my signal stick on my yaesu VX6R great wide band receive as well. 73's
Just ordered three more, and switched out to BNC’s. Appreciate the full video review! 73’s VP9NQ
Another informative and entertaining video.
Ordered an antenna tonight
I have several. One of the best ht antennas for money. And lifetime warranty
I love these antennas. Best upgrade for an HT and only $20. I have 3 of these for my HTs and FT 817 too.
I have been interested in these. Glad you made this video! I went ahead and got one. It’s on the way. I let them know that I bought it after seeing your review.
I love the signal stick. I have like six of them, even the one that glows in the dark. 👏
Your handheld game is strong sir! Any plans on doing a distance comparison? That would would be a great Part 2. Missed you during your POTA activation in AL. I just couldn't get through the Pile-Up. 73, and thanks for the great content.
Love mine - the glow-in-the-dark version!
I have three Signal Sticks. And I like all of them. If you put one in the freezer it will go limp. Take it out, and as it warms up it will straighten out. Pretty cool. I have a signal Stick on my TYT UV380. Works great. I've adapted all my Signal Sticks to BNC as I have my Radio's.
Nice demonstration, I like the signal stick antenna, need to buy one for one of my hd1s or AT- 878s. Thanks.
I have 3 of them in the mail now. Can’t wait.
Nice!
I have one myself, but find it cumbersome, (like any other high-gain antenna) to use on my EDC HT at work; gets in the way sometimes. But, outside of that, I have nothing but complements for this antenna. I have the BNC mount with adapters on all of my HT radios so I can swap it from one radio to another. I will be ordering a couple more probably in the next few months.
I love my signal stick. Need to order another.
Great antennas that even make it difficult to poke your eye out.
I need to try one out sometime. I know I’ve seen them before.
You sir are a Maestro!
YEAH GRMS NEEDS ONE TOO
I guess I'll have to try one. But I'm more than happy with Smiley Antenna... and they've never given me a freebie either. They're so good that I keep using them anyway
Works great on my Yaesu FT-5DR
I need a new HT antenna I'm going to try them out. I'll tell them you sent me!
Works great on my Alinco DJ-MD5
just bought one thanks!
Love your vids man, grest stuff and a top notch host!
Did you want to offload any of those signal sticks, or radios, perhaps getting into the radio enthusiast hobby, ham especially an RTL-SDR Dongle? Or maybe some old home diy built antenna you might have laying around, like maybe a tape measure antenna for my counterfeit Baofeng radio?
I got taken for a ride TWICE (i.e. ripped off) and subsequently discouraged from getting into the Ham hobby, well, not just ham, I guess you could say I got let down one too many times by scammin' losers, spent my budget & never went back, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love fiddling around with anything FREQUENCY, I saw myself becoming a "Freqaphile" (pronounced frEEk Ah FILE), heck, it was fun attempting to get this Baofeng and Nagoya counterfeit garbage to do basically nothing for 3 weeks.
Anyways, yeah, sorry, I'm just a tad bitter, I do like the look of these (and I want one so bad, even a used one! lol) "RTL-SDR Dongle + Free Open Source Software" that's freely available for download, with a new baby and a household to run, my hobby fund was drastically reduced so I went with what was affordable, and yeah, it looks like I just fell off the turnip truck the day I clicked "Finalize Purchase & Check Out" several times, aka I'm stupid.
Yall should watch out for HINKY lookin' crap on the interwebs, don't bust the babk on the crap like I did, do your research please people, lets stop making them rich.
Peace out all!
Best regards, Daniel.
Hey Mike,
Have used my Signal Stuff Signal Stick on real SOTA activations (not the 600’ one we did) and have made contacts at upwards of 65 miles above 10,000’ elevation with a 59 signal report from my radio. These antennas are sick in operation and really inexpensive for the quality. I leave my in a coil all the time for travel and it bounces back with no issue even when sitting in the bag for a month or more. Ham-Solo K0FYR
I just stumbled upon this video. Found these Signal Stuff - Signal Sticks. Purchased all three variants, plus the Signal Stuff BNC car mount and tested . They are very good quality and work very well. My Radio Club - K8MRG - Indian Lake - Moundwood Radio Group went crazy over these for their HT's. It would be great if they made a Marine VHF version cut exactly for 156-163 Mhz. Coast Guard Auxiliary would snap these up for sure. KE8UGS - 73's
I have 3 for both of my HT‘s
Not gonna lie, I took the bait! Just bought one. I’ve been in the market anyway. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks Mike! 73
I'm going to get the glow-in-the-dark models next. But I'd love it if someone tested the Retevis 20W RHD-771 high gauge antenna. It's either good or bad. But going back to the S.S, I'm not a huge fan of the BNC connectors. Most of my radios are male, so a few adapters are all I need. I would like to see some range tests with these. On a line of sight, I suspect these would TX/RX almost forever.
Can you make a review of the Super-Elastic Signal Stalk ½ wave mobile antenna?
Any of these work for GMRS?
Good day,
I hope you’re well. I have a question regarding the Signal Stick antenna. If I mount it on a vehicle, I’m concerned about its flexibility. Would it be able to handle high speeds over long periods without deforming or being damaged by the wind? I’d appreciate your thoughts on this.
Thank you!
Great idea
What about receiving signal?
Hi Mike,
Awesome video. They do have great products. Stay safe. 73 WJ3U
Got the 2m/70cm dual band in order. Would love it if they did one for 4M!
We ain't got time for 4 meters here :)
Nice video thanks
I wish these guys had a UK supplier!
They deliver to europe do they not?
Great video! I have you done review on the signal stick 1/2 wave??
I hate to leave a negative comment since I love your chanel. But I got on of thoes Signal Sticks and they do ok on the magnet mount. But when I tested mine on a VNA analizer, SWR meater and tested it simplex on an HT. In my humble opinion the look nice on an HT but do not preform well on one.
I found its easier to pay off the VE's with a case of booze to pass my tests.
Hi, can I use a signal stick antenna on my Kenwood shortwave receiver? It's a Kenwood r1000.
Hi, can I use a signal stick on my icom ic r6 receiver?
When Josh was testing antennas, sure, the MFJ Long Ranger technically did better than the Signal Stick, the Signal Stick’s durability is WAY higher and will last you a lot longer.
I got one recently and it sags when it is cold. Other than that it had been great.
I bought two Super-elastic Signal Stick antennas last month. They work so well that I just bought 5 more. I feel very sticky. 🤪
have you review the short antenna in that ailunce? thx
Nice, if only I could change antenna on my Garmin Rinos.
They are GMRS and most likely you would get a horrible SWR if it was even possible to remove a Rino antenna.
Have you used these on dmr? I love my signal stick for my HT, but I put it on my dmr radio and both tx and rx we're worse than the stock antenna.
My dmr radio is a tyt md-uv380g.
I have not. I have a hot spot so I use really short stubby antennas for DMR. That’s weird you’re experiencing issues. I wonder what would cause that??
@@hamradiotube I'm considering ordering another just to see if maybe the one I got was being funky. It's just a piece of wire, what's there to not work??
@@alexandeurross4169 yeah I don’t know. It doesn’t make sense. I’d email them first and see if they know anything. If it is faulty they have that lifetime warranty.
Mike I think the links are broke, at least the one for the SMA Female. I think it needs a / at the end. Thanks for the video, I'm replacing the crappy Antenna on my GT-5R now.
same here, but they are easy to find from the front page
MIKE,, K8MRD RADIO STUFF,,, does the radioddity use a 2m and 70cm antenna ??????? TY
Sure does. They all do.
@@hamradiotube i thought so .i'm ordering 3.thanks bro.and we your videos
Everyone mentioning their handheld but i wanna use this on a micromobile and mount on NMO mount
I bought an antenna with female SMA encouraged by the advertising they make of them and I have to say two things. In the first place, the price of them seems to me to be an excessive abuse. Between the price and taxes to Spain, it cost me more than € 40.a tremendous exaggeration. But the worst thing is that the result of it is very disappointing. It has very little gain to the point that my radio works better with the original antenna than with this one. I have tested in V and U and the result is the same.
How does a 2 meter quarter wave work on 440?
I just purchased a magnetic mount for the signal stick, plus hopefully all the adapters I can get for all my radios KK7KLD Roger From utah
Ordered 2 glow in the dark whips. KC3NLS
Put them on the meter
Hey Mike thanks for the video I hate to admit this but I never heard of that particular antenna. I am running a Yaesu ft1dr handheld and Those antennas look pretty awesome. I think there will be one in the very near future. Have a great week.

Steve
Hello sir! Great video! Thinking about this antenna (dual band version) for a Radioddity GM30 GMRS + VHF/UHF scanner. Worry is that since GMRS is around 462 / 467 MHz, I'm thinking maybe the SWR will not be perfect and would need to cut it? What do you think? I have a Nano VNA. Thanks!
I guess the question is, cutting the antenna for GMRS would help with GMRS TX but will probably reduce VHF / UHF RX sensitivity?
But what if my Baufeng female identifies as a male?
They make sex change adapters for them.
Nice........💝
The Super Elastic Signal Stick made no difference in signal strength on my Yaesu FT-60R. In fact, I see no real difference in performance compared to the original stock antenna.
They need to sell a lot more of them so they can pay someone who knows how to build a usable website.
Really? I haven't had any problems.
@@hamradiotube Me neither and it's far better than the Abbree website.
👍☘️
hello
Does a 90' bnc / bnc cause 705 problem? What if you connect directly?
Or is it because you don't have a ground? (Ht are held in hand)
Conclusion, I feel cheated and not worth the money I had to pay. I am sorry
give us specs.....vswr on the bands. useless video......
@Michael Sean Specs are NOT real world performance. YOUR 'real world' use IS. still...useless..
These are great - been using them for a couple of years.
They just introduced a mag mount bnc base for use with a BNC signal stuck. 16' of coax. Cyber Monday price if $15 (regularly $20).
Good products fir a good cause.

I think the signal stick has fantastic reception. The transmission is Fair, but they're glow-in-the-dark technology is poop
