For me, the ideas in ruclips.net/user/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.
I feel like an idiot. Every comment praises this method, but I cannot get it to work. I must be doing something wrong. Once I find the angle and transfer it to my miter saw, it never works. The two pieces of wood never come together on the outside angel I have. I "think" I am transferring the angle incorrectly to the saw. Do I use the angle from the pencil mark or from the edge of the wood? I hope I described that correct.
Thank you so much. I have been working on my condo remodel and some walls are not 45 degrees. Was ready to call someone to do the trim but you saved me. This is from a female...63 y/o. You are kind to post this.
Funny, I've used this method earlier today and worked pretty well . Works for inside and outside wall. Make sure you trace your line correctly otherwise your miter will be off
Your 3 videos explaining how to find inside and outside angles without an angle finder or protractor are great! Short and concise and really easy to understand. Thanks for these!
Definitely going to use this method once I get my mitre saw set up. It seems so simple & accurate. Just have to keep it tight or you’ll be off by a degree or two. Then the caulk comes out.lol
This is an old video but that is NOT a perfect fit. It should be, you might have moved but if that was stained it wouldn’t pass however “putty & paint makes a carpenter what he ain’t “. Joking with you, not that bad but I would like it just a little better.
THANK YOU!!! I had seen a tiktok about this a while back and ive been looking all morning for something similar. this is exactly what i was looking for. Thank you again!!
Stay strong, brother. Why aren't you teaching young folks? Thanks for sharing with us. The best part of the tip, which you didn't mention was how to cut both sides by leaving the same side of the base along the fence and just rotating the miter to the correct angle. Best to you and your family. Love the corona haircut.
plasterers don't finish walls that good so you can do that method they tend to leave a gr8 big gap at the bottom and swoop out at the bottom with there trowl, ive never worked on any job yet where a plasterer finishies a job perfectly square sure they leave a smooth surface but they know nothing of angles. your video is good but you need to facter in somemore details as its not bullet proof.
Thanks! Just tried this today and worked like a charm. My husband tore out our remodelers' baseboards because the joints and caulking were sloppy. With this technique my husband's joints were perfection!
EXCELLENT TIP! IF THE ANGLE IS ODD (NO PRE-SET DETENT) MAYBE YOU CAN TURN THE LAST CUT UPSIDE DOWN, AND NOT MOVE THE MITER SAW? NOT SURE IF IT WILL WORK, LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
Another great video, thank you. Concerning the miter saw, do you have to set it up level on the ground? Please make a video doing measurements and cut for bullnose miters. What happens if you go over 90 degrees, let's said 90.8- do you go over a bit over 45 or a bit less than 45?
🤣 I can't for the life of me figure out your line of thinking with the "level" question! Not much more understanding of the second question as you're not trying to figure out the actual angles by degrees as you're measuring only in practical terms.
Better explanation than Tom Silva. Your angle was too perfect. 22.5°. For those who don’t do this much that’s a 45° angle bisected. His example wasn’t wonky in other words.
Thanks for making it so simple that even I can understand it. You just saved me 20.00+. Can you explain to viewers who don’t know that there’s a situation where you cut the wood standing up and others flat down? I know baseboards and ceiling crown molding are cut standing up, can you elaborate further?
Thank you for keeping it straight to the point. Hate seeing videos where dudes start with all sorts of production, talking about the weather, their wives and mistress. Got my subscription… I don’t do so many. 👌
Thank you for the info. Do these same principals apply to Crown Molding installed from a straight wall to an angled wall and back to a straight wall other than the Crown Molding on the Miter Saw inverted? This is a corner built in and need to install Crown on top. Could you provide your insight to this? Have you made a video similar to this one that covers Crown? - Thank you
I hope you can answer my question this is driving me crazy and costly with a lot of wasted crown molding, I can't figure this out: I have a vaulted down at 106 degrees going down to a level 8' ceiling, I've done the math as you explained but none of my cuts work. I'm not sure if you reply to comments but I sure would be blessed if you answer mine. Thank you.
I'm trying to work out how to cut angels for moulding and dado rails going diagonally up the stairs with a plain hand saw and a digital angel meaureing tool. Any help of tips would be amazing?
Holy Cow! This is amazing, I'm doing stain-grade molding in a bathroom, and I'm scratching my head trying to do these cuts, I see this and I'm blown away!
Am I the only one who tried to look around the top of his head 0:55 to see how he did it...... Great vid ....I've definitely stored this tip in my mental toolbox.
What about an opposite angle to the one in your video where you won't be able to overlap two pieces of wood because there's no room ? Can you show a trick for that ?

How do you do that if it's an inside corner?
He has another video that shows you how to find an inside corner...

Great tip!
Genius
🤯👍🏼

Ok; now try it with beaded base cap.
best video on youtube "old school you ca't beat it"

Will it work the same for an inside corner?
Yes now do the other side with the same wood, instead of pre-cutting the other piece.
What about an inside corner?
Funny, I've used this method earlier today and worked pretty well . Works for inside and outside wall.
Make sure you trace your line correctly otherwise your miter will be off
Verry good. Keep the videos coming. They help.
I will now re-name my two oldest Sawdust and Wood. Thank you.
What about and inside angle?
Am confused with right side ,are you using same piece of wood to do the right side??
Dang, we never got a reply 2 years later..
Legend has it he has still never done an inside angle lol
3 years and still no answer
He says it in a other video of his.
Where were you when I was doing my baseboards? You make life easy.
AMAZING!!! I will definitely use this method from now on! Thanks SO much. I feel more empowered using my miter saw.

Thanks for all your practical tips!!

Brilliant. Thank you. It's this kind of stuff I forget from my school years...
I knew there had to be a way to get it right. I STRUGGLED with this over the weekend, not anymore! Thanks!
THANK YOU!!! I had seen a tiktok about this a while back and ive been looking all morning for something similar. this is exactly what i was looking for. Thank you again!!

Such a game changer for me, thank you.
Glad it helped

Awseome...thx...whats the best blade for cutting BBs?
Nice! Nifty trick. I'm sure it will come in handy. Stay Safe and I hope your kids are doing well with remote learning.
Thanks! Just tried this today and worked like a charm. My husband tore out our remodelers' baseboards because the joints and caulking were sloppy. With this technique my husband's joints were perfection!
Excellent thanks for the advice
Way too much work. Put the board up to the angle and draw one line from the angle. No need for two pieces of wood and 3 lines.
Brilliant, I have learnt a new skill, keen to try it out. In my experience, I've never seen a true 90 degree external corner.
Good tip👍✌️😊🙏🏼⚒⚒
Always one of my favorite lessons and one of your earlier videos I go back too. Great
Couldn't you find the angle with a roofers square?
Its so weird, i just cant make it work and the angle is wrong.
EXCELLENT TIP! IF THE ANGLE IS ODD (NO PRE-SET DETENT) MAYBE YOU CAN TURN THE LAST CUT UPSIDE DOWN, AND NOT MOVE THE MITER SAW? NOT SURE IF IT WILL WORK, LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
Yes it works . Just flip the baseboard and there you go
Dang it! Already did mine the hard way and wood puddy.
Brilliant, simple, no-cost - my kind of stuff!
I’m trying this but with a circular saw. It’s tough
Out there're more videos with better explanation. Are you a copy cat or are U learning to make videos.Anyway thanks for the struggle😃😃😃
where do you find the other videos?
You made it nice and easy for me to understand it and Lord knows how much I was trying to learn that on my own.
Thank you, sir!
Again God bless great job.
What number are you using on your hair?
Ridiculous video doesn’t show shit

How do you get the internal angles without an angle finder
You didn’t need an angle finder cause the angle found you! Thanks for the tips!!!
MAN, I wish I'd seen this BEFORE I cut my fascia boards for my deck, (which will now need a bit of wood filler and sanding to fix up!!!! Great tip!!!
👌 🙏 👌 👏 👏 👏🌾🫒🌾🌲 🌲 🌲 Great Master 🌲🌾
So the angle of your prop wall was 135 degrees, correct? Figuring backwards from your 22.5 degree miter saw cut: (90-22.5)X2 = 135 degrees
Better explanation than Tom Silva. Your angle was too perfect. 22.5°. For those who don’t do this much that’s a 45° angle bisected. His example wasn’t wonky in other words.
Great job and good thinking God continue to bless U
Thanks
You didnt show the initial setup on the saw
But how do you use that for the inside wall?
Well done, very helpful, sir!
Thanks for making it so simple that even I can understand it. You just saved me 20.00+. Can you explain to viewers who don’t know that there’s a situation where you cut the wood standing up and others flat down? How would you cut a biggger board on a table saw? For example 24 inches by 30 inches? Thank you
- Another very useful, practical way to make angles without having to spend "oodles" of money. Thanx 4 sharing.
This is awesome thanks for sharing!
Does it work the same for the internal angle?
No worries... I just found your other video that covers it!
Just brilliant. Thank you.
It only fit perfect because the saw cut didn’t follow the pencil line.
??????? Anyways thanks for checking it out. I'll rewatch to see if I made a mistake.
That’s what I needed to know. Thank you
Thank you for keeping it straight to the point. Hate seeing videos where dudes start with all sorts of production, talking about the weather, their wives and mistress. Got my subscription… I don’t do so many. 👌
Does it work for acute angles?
What color is urine in diabetes?
Excellent tip. I'm a day late on watching this video. Had to track down my angle finder.. lol...
Good stuff... Thank you!!!

I’m gonna try this. I hope it works out for me cause I am NOT having any luck! Thanks so much for sharing! 🤝
Thanks for sharing this great tip.. It will save me a bunch of time..😊😊
Thank you for this video.
We call that a Neo angle where I worked.
Great trick, looked it up today at my job, thanks again!
Anytime
will this work with inside corners.?
I’ve struggled with cutting these angles the s video has made it so simple for me thank you so much👍👍💙
I hope you can answer my question this is driving me crazy and costly with a lot of wasted crown molding, I can't figure this out: I have a vaulted down at 106 degrees going down to a level 8' ceiling, I've done the math as you explained but none of my cuts work. Can you cut this with th bevel function of the miter saw? My baseboards are too tall to cut in the upright position with my blade.
Nice! I was wearing myself out yesterday trying to figure that out lol 😆 good job
Is it the same on the inside of the corner
Thank you so much spent an hour trying to get this angle right and your trick helped figure it out no problem
Dude, you are the MAN. Nice video. Simple and easy to follow. Thank you X 10,000
Wish I had watched this early this morning before I spent the entire day working on the trim for my staircase!
Am I the only one who tried to look around the top of his head 0:55 to see how he did it......
Great vid ....I've definitely stored this tip in my mental toolbox.
Thank you! SO helpful and worked perfectly.
What about an opposite angle to the one in your video where you won't be able to overlap two pieces of wood because there's no room ? Can you show a trick for that ?
You should note that this method will only work if the two pieces of wood you are using to find the angle have the same dimension across the top face.
Damn Geometry, you scary!
it's fine to swiggle brother :)
Sir......Thank you. Doing my own baseboard. First time. And was having bit of an issue without an angle finder. Thanks again. God bless.
First time seeing this method and it's awesome because i almost gave up on cutting braces for my shed
You’re the best ! Always make my jobs faster with your tricks !
Brilliant. Technology is helping us forget some of our old school tricks.
Awesome tip, but I would just keep saying squiggle.
