3:58 That may have been the closet he wrote most of InUtero. Patty Schemel spoke of it in the documentary "Hit So Hard". The downstairs corner next to the Fireplace is where he held Francis in the Rolling Stones article.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost my password. I love any tricks you can offer me
Noone bought the house for years. According to Zillow, it was listed at $400,000 back in 2015 and the price kept on dropping until it was finally sold for $190,000 in 2018. I guess as cool as this all is, noone really has that kind of money to preserve nostalgia- and history, of course. Kind of sad. Hopefully the new owners will preserve the home. The home's value is estimated at only about $120,000.
This isn’t that same house. The one you’re speaking of is his childhood home in Aberdeen. This video is the Hollywood Hills home he shared with Courtney where he wrote In Utero.
Oh wow this is a good depiction of the house, even the huge ceiling light is still up in the living room. And the mirrored tiles are still intact in the downstairs bathroom, and the upstairs bathroom still has handles on the faucets. They are all gone now! Thanks for showing the kitchen, no one else seems to have bothered or couldn't get in. Cool video, thanks! ❤️
This is where he put together the back collage of lilies, baby dolls, turtles etc, of “In Utero”. There are pics of him holding baby Frances in front of the collage/ & he & Courtney & Frances in front of the fireplace.
Everyone around there knows that's Kurts old home, imagine their shock to see this guy walking through the house or coming out the door. That would spook me if I didnt know who he was.
Actually, it happens all the time. It's become routine for that particular property. As you said, everyone around it knows this is the house Kurt Cobain lived in while writing In Utero. The reason the house is still vacant in the first place is because it became a hub for teenaged Nirvana fans making it their most treasured party destination in the late 90s-2000s, as well as it becoming the most sacred 'shooting gallery' (shelter for heroin addicts to inject themselves) in all of Los Angeles by the junkies in that community when the property went back on the market in the late 90s. Believe me when I tell you long-haired, scruffy looking dudes suddenly appearing out of thin air on that property is nothing out of the ordinary for the neighbors.
Are you serious. ...You mean to tell me the house is still in this condition today.....after all these years.....and anybody can just walk in and around it???
This isn't where he died.... just in case you thought it was.... he died in his beautiful Seattle home.... He rarely spent time in this Hollywood Hills home... he hated LA. They only bought this home because Courtney wanted it and she spent far more time there than he...... Im not sure why they haven't renovated nor sold it but im sure, after seeing a recent interview with Courtney, Heroin is the only thing she gives a damn about right now.... same way she was in the 90's
Essa casa ja era... mesmo que alguem alugasse nao teria paz com tantos fans do Nirvana querendo visitar..😂😂😂😂 eu mesma seria uma desses que se pudesse iria com o maior prazer. KURT FOREVER!!!
That house was in need of some upgrades. It’s incredibly sad Kurt took his own life. However, I could not knowingly purchase a home I knew a person took their own life in. I can feel energy of those who have passed. I believe it’s possible Kurt was incredibly intelligent and also had lived multiple lives, as many of us have. This past life, for him, was one of struggle. Profoundly sad. Look for him to come back as a child prodigy. There are many. Peace and love to you Kurt.
He didnt take his life in this home.... actually he didnt take his life at all he was murdered and his wife got away with it all! But yes this was actually where he wrote one of their best albums... he was found in their Seattle home...the greenhouse actually.... shane you didnt feel any of that 🤷♀️
This is a building where he wrote some great songs and rented......Its great to see the environment where he wrote he such an amazing piece of work. Desecrate is strong word which I think is a bit strong....yeah, hes snooping about.
I dont know why people think this but it's not true. He lived at 6881 and this guy is at the correct address. You can even compare details in the house to photos from when Kurt lived there, or read the descriptions by patty schemel
There is nothing to steal from the house. I would love to go in and see where kurt was. Very nice house. Is this the house he lived in when he was killed??? The one with the greenhouse over the garage. Yeah... If i was there and could go in i would. Thanks for the video. Needs some cleaning but very nice.
Why are there photographs of him in it then with new born Frances? Google "Kurt living at" 6881 Alta Loma Terrace, Los Angeles, CA 90068, USA It's all there.
It has been falling apart for decades... not to mention it was a different style in the 90s.... even with it looking like it does today...which is condemned.... most people couldnt afford it... that area is one of the most famous apartments just the outside elevator alone is famous....
He used to write songs in the closet
Imagine going to the bathroom with all those mirrors all around you

I thought that same thing. Its probably the one, its big enough and has a door and its out of the way of the main house. This is a great video.
kurt cobain farted in that house
he breathed in there too
Legend
Thank you for that insight, good sir
hahahaha
Why is this dude flipping off the toilet and flipping off the bath tub faucet handles..lol?
Yes and what is with he showing the finger all the time, idiotic behavior 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
He thinks he's pretty rock and toll but he looks like a Morin when he does it lol
Nice old house, I'd like to live in it. The Hollywood Bowl is behind it, so I could listen to concerts from the comfort of my own home.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account?

@Manuel Sterling Instablaster :)
Same, imagine having that view??!
Traffic is a nightmare all the time in that area
Wow!! Thanks for this, this is the first time that I saw this house in such a good shape (even the kitchen was untouched back then)..So awesome
Great video. I have seen a lot of videos this is by far the best more detailed. Thank you

Thishouse actually sold in 1999 for 425k. It’s valued around just under 2 million now, mostly the land.
@Skyler Winslett yes it is now for sale, but it’s not Frances selling it.
Uhm this is in the Hollywood hills and it’s and older house , even in this state it’s worth probably at least 1 mil.. 😅
I’d totally do that place up and live there quite happily. Thanks for going inside, others haven’t.
I would to but I would actually make it look like how it used to be when he was living thwre

she STILL hasn't kicked the heroin?!?!
I herd she's been clean for two years now!
Why did a family member or fan not BUY and restore this historic place in rock history? What is the address ... I may buy it!
You should edit this with photos of the house back then with kurt, courtney etc., and splice them in, and re-upload.
i wish i could like this comment more than once...
@@PubeHairForestFire If you want to see that, see this video here someone did that this year: ruclips.net/video/r39G3Aj4meQ/видео.html

Sad to see it in this state. It should be a shrine
Wait until the day they knock it down or something:(
This area is beautiful...its crazy to me how they just let this duplex just fall apart.
Just think Curt took a dump in that toilet
Wait, what? I thought Frances bought this house...
Essa casa ja era... mesmo que alguem alugasse nao teria paz com tantos fans do Nirvana querendo visitar..😂😂😂😂 eu mesma seria uma desses que se pudesse iria com o maior prazer. KURT FOREVER!!!
All those houses where Kurt lived are old and lifeless. Like ghosts. The house in Olympia is still OK, though.
Been there a year ago feels so creepy bit fascinating at the same time wonder whoever bought it finished restoring it
It isnt restored at all... the deck is actually coming off the wall
I want to go so badly while it is still like this n ppl can get in!! That would be so awesome to see.
u just walk in there?
Looks like he's not the only one to walk in there ..
Melhor video que ja vi da casa! Com as coisas quase todas no lugar!
Nice Video, but why didn't you hold the camera sideways? Baahh
He was mostly in closet where your video ended in that's where he would sit in there and play according to the girl that lived with them
Interesting house. Full wall mirrors next to the shitter. That didn’t take off.
What's with all the birds?

bautiful house
You're beautiful yourself. 💋
thank you very much ;)
All the middle fingers 😂
How to get in?
the house is totally abandoned?
Respect...it's so private...I would never want someone to desecrate my home after dead...

This isn't the house where he died. That house is in Washington.
U should consider not being so immature
Fuck off
You are in the back duplex, he lived in the front.
hahahaha fail
You're wrong actually. He lived in 6881, which is the correct address that he is in.
@Michael Lyons oooo thank you. ❤️
thats abandoned???
Thought he lived in seattle
where’s the address i need to go see it
6881 Alta Loma Terrace, Los Angeles, CA 90068, USA
It has an owner btw
In how many houses Kurt live with Courtney?
He lived in one more house in L.A. It is still OK. And people can rent it.
Yes the old property on Spaulding they lived in before this one is an Air B&B and $290 a night.
Josh just went there but didn't go in
I'm surprised no one squats in there, just because it is an abandoned house. Nothin to do with in utero or Kurt cobain.
It has A LOT of close neighbors
@@dawnbreak3299 Yeah I think he final house/mansion was perfect in way, it seems more private than this
I can picture Kurt dozing off in the mirrors loo
