Kurt was massively negative, just look at some of his lyrics…depression or bi-polar , on top of being a dope addict definitely didn’t help and marrying a leach wasn’t good either…he was no longer poor, but he was just as miserable..
That's not how he presented himself to me. How Kurt was in his private life is another story. Like many people he had a hard time being famous. In addition, I'm also not a Courtney Love fan!! She was a bad influence that pushed him further into darkness instead of helping him!!!@@toddprater14
Thank you for the update, Scott. The video on this house that you did before we found out about the current situation with it is what brought me to your channel. It's so sad that they can't preserve this place somehow
So sad it's getting torn down. Yet another place in hollywood where we go to memorialize and remember those who passed away. I'm so glad you did this one. Thank you Scott. He was a big part of me growing up. RIP Kurt🙏🙏❤️❤️
I hate the thought of it being demolished. Somebody with money could fix it up, even if they had to start from scratch. Air bnb it with Kurt decor in it so his fans could enjoy staying in a bit of his history. I realize it’s in a spot that would be hard to get construction supplies to, but the surrounding homes are capable of being maintained so that house should be, too. Sadly, it won’t happen. It’s my favorite home of his, I love the architectural details - very unique. Legendary music written there. It’ll be a heartbreaking day when they tear it down. Thanks for keeping us updated, Scott.
I miss Kurt Cobain!!! He was such an amazing talent. I remember you did a collaboration with Grimm Life Collective at Kurt Cobain's In Utero house and I have been subscribed to and watched you ever since!!! I love every video you do.
It's sad they can't keep it preserved, but tbh, I can see it being a huge headache to the neighbors, especially if it was turned into a museum or Airbnb. The area is so narrow--how would all that tourist foot traffic interfere with the people who live in that area? Where would visitors park? Would a musuem/Airbnb based around a man mostly famous for how he died 30 years ago actually be able to sustain the funding put into the maintenance? And realistically, for how long? There is something forlorn, though, about demolishing the place a family lived and loved together. But it happens all the time.

Ty Scott on Tape for this update, I found your channel from the first video you did of the In Utero house. And ive been hooked on your channel since. I wish this house could be saved, as a lot of us wish l Love what you do. Your videos are Awesome!
Such a shame it has to be demolished. Also, all those people that live round there, imagine having to take your grocery shopping up all the stairs! It's worth it for that view.
I was thinking his house was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Obviously, I was wrong, but it's very similar. Thanks for taking one for the team, Scott, and making that trek up there! RIP Kurt😢
Thank you Scott for keeping us updated on Kurt’s home. It means a lot to me because I’ll never be able to physically get there to see it for myself. I truly hope they decide NOT to demolish it but re-enforce the structure. It’s too beautiful a place to tear down plus the view is gorgeous. Happy new year Scott and thanks again!🙏❤️🥳

that is great they still have not demolish the house yet and yea they should let it be a tour till they destroy it so people can get some mementoes to have for souvenir that would be great if that could happen but it looks like a long walk I could not make it up there lol but it is a beautiful view thanks Scott for sharing
I dont know why but this house seams to hold Kurts energy in some way...because he did not grownd there or this is not the house that he kill himself...I dont know why I can feel some of his energy there and I would like to be there and know that too
Has nobody tried to get a local politician involved? Maybe they can somehow intervene to prevent the demolition. There is clearly historic significance both musically and culturally as the Cobain-Love home at the height of Nirvana, not to mention that it was built by a famous architect. I realize there was an add-on, but the house is essentially the same. Whatever was added on can probably even be removed if need be. It looks like the bones of the house are fine, just floors and walls need some help - and that’s repairable. This seems possible to restore. With the right investors raising money, they can open a museum and/or even use it as an Airbnb (kind of like the first house you showed us up by Seattle). My guess is that the locals just want an excuse to have it torn down because they don’t want the tourists. Honestly, I do t think it would bring droves of tourists to that degree. I don’t see bus loads of people going up to that height of the Hills cause people would still have to partially hike and most folks won’t be able are want to bother. It could even be made a provision by the local HOA - tourists and Airbnb allowed but no bus loads. Someone needs to find out who owns the house and see how much they’d want for it before it’s demolished, get a politician involved, etc. I bet TMZ could find out the details for the owner and possibly even get the house saved and restored with the right connections, lol.
Thanks for the long hike again Scott. I Always wondered if the seclusion of the house was the appeal to them moving up there. I know the small apartment they had on Spaulding st. was quite run down but very accessible to get around town. This house had to be hell on them with a baby to have to moniver around town for food, supply's, and appointment's, and stuff. Knowing what i know about Kurt and how lazy he could be I would imagine that he was a home body, and would do all he could to prevent the long walk in and out of this place. They probably had plenty of runners that would deliver goods and services to them just to avoid the long walk.
Great Video. Mrs Kryme and I went up to the house one day back in 2021. We got the idea from you, and yes that kicked off our channel Tombstone Whisperz. We had a moment of peacefulness there being near something Kurt Cobain. But, yes watching this video brought back memories. Great video!
Wish Kurt was still here, such an interesting artist. I can imagine hearing him play guitar through the walls while you were walking by.. I just imagine chilling with Kurt in the morning at that house in the living room while he played acoustic or something just talking or something. What a cool experience that would of been. So beautiful and sunny there. Much love Scott!

The house next to the top of the elevator was in Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye. It was Elliot Gould's characters home. He also takes the elevator in the film.
As a Floridian, my mind is boggled at how they built all of these houses close together on a hill, with all of these little walkways that are like little actual roads. How do builders and construction workers maneuver around in these small areas to be able to do anything? You certainly can't get any heavy machinery up there. What if you need a new refrigerator delivered? What if you are receiving an important package? The UPS guy has to walk 500 feet through a maze to get it to you? My guess is that Cobain's house is still standing simply because nobody can get up there to demolish it lol.
Fair point, but this type of city building is much more common in Europe for example. The US has extremely restrictive zoning laws that makes most US cities look the same
The High Tower Apartments, where the elevator tower is, was prominently as Philip Marlowe's apartment building in Robert Altman's "The Long Goodbye" (1973) starring Elliott Gould as Marlowe.
