This channel deserves a million plus subs and a full sponsorship by Jeep. No BS intros, no BS click-bait, no fancy super rigs. Just straight to the meat and potatoes. Also, no begging for merch purchases, or patrons. I'm a huge fan and appreciate your channel very much!

Although a lot of what he does is big truck towing and recovery, Ron Pratt is like that as well. No long introductions. Not a lot of fancy editing. There is a PayPal donation link but it's in the description but he doesn't beat the drum for it. Worth a sub if you like towing video channels.

Usually I find the side by side recoveries to be of the less interesting ones but this has to be top 5 for Matt, easily! So many priceless moments! The tough drive up there, the camera work where the little yellow banana splits a boulder in half with its cross member, wedging the trailer in a little gulch and rolling the mound of twisted metal right down onto it! This ones worth a couple views for sure!

Jeep ceased being the Jeep of past legends in the early-2000s and finally took the plunge after the financial crisis in 2008. "Jeeps" are now FCA products that are designed around a "tinker toy" business model with massive aftermarket support--a real money maker. Quality? You be the judge. Only time will tell the longevity and ruggedness of the most recent and current models. But...there's a good reason why XJs and other Jeep models of similar generations (post-2001) are increasing in value at alarming rates. Rates that have forced me into the hoarding hobby of old 4x4s.

There was a time I used to help bro-in-law recover wrecks off the mountain in South Wales (UK), when kids used to steal cars and drive / push them over the edge just for fun...
We’d park his big wrecker on the roadway up top, and shimmy down the mountain with chains and straps to hoist them up on the big winch.
Such hard work legging it up and down those steep slopes, but it was fun. He got the chance of being paid from any of them that were insured, probably about 60% paid up, which covered those that weren’t insured. Sometimes there’d be 10 or 12 for us to get.
It was more of an environmental clean-up than recoveries, but it was an earner. I learned a lot about what to - and what not to do in the circumstances.
This brought back some good memories, thanks Matt, job well done. 👍🏻🇷🇴🇬🇧

    quite a rescue... for scrap/salvage...
anyway i once helped recover one of these (early model) that a genius son of an employer i had drove right up to the edge of an active landslide, then rode it down as the land collapsed... dad wanted the salvage it worked out pretty well, but rather then fight to get a trailer to the thing ,we built a sled to drag it to the nearest logging/power line maintenance road(used for both), we were going to use the old truck to tow it most of the way but, the old man(owners father) showed up with 4x4 high torque quads and wanted us to give it a try, saved us alot of headaches clearing a path for the truck, the old guys cleared the way for the big 4x4 to get to a good possition it could takeover pulling to get the sled to the spot where, we pulled it sled and all onto the truck, the guy made his very very sore and achy son, spent the whole day, cleaning up the bits and pieces allover the hillside.. didnt let him finish till all the major parts and most minor were collected...
another time we got a call, we though the bosses kid was to blame again but it turned out....it was his GF this time.. she decided to try and 4wheel because she thought it looked fun... he even tried to stop her... she got her 4wd honda crossover/suv/thing REALLY stuck... like... somehow, it was nearly perfectly centered over a dry creek bed/ditch( was both at that point, since he creek had re-routed itself threw the ditch any time it rained much..) ... that was.. interesting... even the towing companies they called came and looked and said NOPE... one laughed at them and nearly hurt himself, then showed up when he heard we were going to get it unstuck even if we had to haul heavy equipment up there... in the end we didnt need to, but mostly because a logging outfit spotted us, and somebody came to see what was going on with so many vehicles up such bad road.. dude nearly hurt himself when he found out what happened.. i will say, shes not a bright woman but, his GF was very honest and owned up to the fact she fucked up... even told us she should have listened when he said it was a bad idea, either way, the logging company was selecting logging the area for specific trees, turns out a few of them where near by, they did a quick "fix" on the road, and backed a truck up that had a shockingly heavy duty crane on it, enough that it was able to just lift the car onto the truck, we already had another plan but, when they offered, the owner ended up taking everybody out for pizza and even provided a HUGE FUCKING BOWL of quarters for anybody who wanted to use the little arcade... little did he know... i knew how to trigger free games on the 3 machines worth playing, but either way, he even paid for the logging guys to join, and not at a cheap place... at a place thats prices were... a bit painful if im being honest... but he liked his now daughter-in-law and years later he told me...the laughs hes gotten out of that over the years, have made the money worth it.. the fact that the cars frame was twisted and the insurance wrote it off... wasnt even a big deal, he had her buy it, and he got her one that needed work, (blown engine and alot of other shit), and over a couple months we moved all the parts that needed replaced from one to the other, when it was done he paid to have the car re-painted for her, since it looked like a redneck mobile and... though that wouldnt bother most people around here... he didnt want her co-workers/boss to get a bad impression of her due to her car, even though they all knew how she ended up driving a geo sprint turbo that the company kept around as sort of a street legal go-cart... you can cram 5-6 people in one of them in a pinch... and make all but the driver regret their life choices... *evil grin*
oh, we got that geo, free and it was a bigger project pulling it out of the marshy/swampy area near the company, an old guy down the way let his son borrow it, the idiot got drunk and tried to just cross the marsh rather then drive around, he was drunk an wanted to get something... the old guy came over, told us.. was both clearly annoyed and... but also, amused..."he came home, covered head to foot in stinking mud.. it was amazing, never seen somebody so coated, he was upset i wouldnt let his drunk muddy arse in, till after i used the electric pressure washer on him.... he didnt open the door he climbed out the window, so the thing shouldnt be seriously damaged in any way...just REALLY stuck in the mud... we ended up using the same sled as before but, modified to help break the suction of the mud on the car.. that was hard.. we ended up having to shove a couple worn out air bags(used like jacks in some of the jobs we did, as it allowed you to easily adjust the position of heavy parts as they lowered into place, well we managed to shove a cople under one side hear the jack points and inflate them.. then used the wench we attached onto the sled to pull it onto the sled slowly but surely... then getting the sled and car to solid ground was... a half days work... thankfully when the county inspector stopped by to see why we had been messing with a wet land, he just bust out laughing, checked and said "you even threw that bio-shit onto the area it was stuck to help soap up the oil" it was just some stuff that we threw down along with a bag worth of very cheap grass seed the owner had a bunch of...so much crab grass in it...LOL... anyway... yeah... the guy was wishing he just let us take the large back hoe rather then wanting us to use the trucks... (i could have used the backhoe to pull the thing onto the sled then the sled back in a quarter the time.. ) "i didnt want to have to spent half a day cleaning the cat" his own wife just stared at him.. we built a platform to pull it onto, that you closed around the base and turned on... that cleaned the tracks and base very very quickly... with minimal effort, and the cab/upper area wouldnt have needed cleaned... not even the scoop/shovel would have needed cleaned... )
the best "Rescue" i have watched though... a guy got his car stuck in the woods near my home, then he got his toyota truck stuck...he then called a tow company...who..got their first truck stuck on the trail trying to pull the toyota truck up the trail.... in he end then had 3 tucks here, they had to take trucks down, use cables/chains to connect them, then pull the truck, then the car, to the location of the truck on the trail, then, use the truck at the top of the trail to pull the lower one, then the flatbed to pull them both fully onto the street, it took them from 7am till after dark to get the car out of the woods, the truck was done much sooner... the car was in a big mud puddle/hole sunk enough that a large tow truck had to get nearly on top of it to break the suction, then... the other truck had to pull the first , then get towed up the trail a bit.. etc over and over... the guys insurance had to be fucking shitting when they saw that bill...
