    I agreee with others, the spear should have been condi. It has no real niche other than solo PVP whereas necro has been crying out for melee condi for years.

    Worth noting, the "prevent the next 3 boons" debuff counts each stack of Might or Stability seperately, which weakens it greatly. Especially with how many skills provide 3+ stacks of might as a side effect.

    Sigh. This should have been either pure condi or support. Or maybe a hybrid of the two. That's the only 2 niche weapon usage Necro is missing. Melee condi. And/or proper support with healing or boons or whatever.

    If they improve the numbers and life force generation, it might be okay, but they have some work to do.

    I feel like the AA needs to be 0.5s throughout to feel even remotely better than using GS, and have 1s Bleed added throughout, and 1.5s Poison instead of the Chill on the third in the chain, and inceease its Life Force to 10%.

    Id say extend the shards by 5 seconds and add a life force muktiplyer to the 2 skill and balance a dos drop from greatsword with a faster life force generation.

    Ok so it wasn't just me that thought that the necro spear was not a PvE weapon but maybe I try it in PvP when it is out.

    Weird that isnt a melee condi weapon. Why would they make a weaker greatsword? Atleast the skill's design aren't flawed at first glance and doesnt feel bad playing with it, so only numbers and adjustments are needed i guess.

    Reminds me of how you use axe. You pull axe out for its 1 skill burst, shroud rotation, then axe burst, then switch back to your real weapon. This would probably be used a similar way, just for gap closing with some burst in pvp.

    Honestly, i would love to see the target cap increased from 3 to 5. High cleave feels good.

    Regarding Spear 2: As PvP Player damage is great, but traiding sustain for damage? Count me in!

    Spot on. Imo the big issue is that spear’s identity is just wayyyy to close to greatsword. So much so that these two weapons will start contesting for the same spots. The chill on spear is very nice, but maybe also give it a bit of torment and/or bleed to make it viable as a hybrid/condi melee weapon for other especs. Where it is now it will forever be either a worse greatsword or cause gs to be a worse spear. I really do hope they redesign spear while they still can.

    I used sword/focus, spear in marauder gear and it felt fine, but a bit lack luster, I do agree it'd have been more fun if it were condi focused but it's fine. I really liked the thief spear skills the most with the combo skill effect and being the damage was based in condi, the playstyle lined up with axe/dagger and gave a lot of movement to an already mobile profession. Maning a necro atm but pretty sure I'll be switching up in Janthir wilds.

    From what I have learned: This weapon is only good until the target reaches 50% health. After that greatsword beats it by lengths.. However dagger/sword is still better then spear in almost every regard so it's questionable to use it. D/S has massive amounts of lifeforce, selfhealing from skills 2 and 4 and it's damage keeps up nicely. GS has insane damage and utility with skills 2-5. The only thing D/S+GS is missing is mobility and for that you can just replace the mainhand dagger into a sword which is a small DPS-loss but you get a big mobility skill on 3 and your 1+2 are ranged now. In my testing I had a max of 29k while D/S+GS were 25-32k & depending on enemy hp.

    I'm no expert, I watch these types of vids just for the fun of it but I'd like to see a link between shards and life force generation. Have that feeling of building up the shards, using skills that generate more LF/shard, spending the shards then popping into Shroud.

    Does the Spear 5 work on Dhuum if you hit him before his boon phase?
