The title of Kenpachi means the strongest physically and in swordsmanship which Unohana held in spades over the Gotei 13 for centuries...until kid Zaraki.
It doesn’t mean that. It just means ‘Strongest Shinigami’. Aka it’s been a fraudulent title in its entire existence. Even if we take your interpretation, Prime Yamamoto would be physically stronger than her since your Spiritual Power determines your physical strength, and Yama was also noted to be the best Gotei 13 Shinigami in all 4 Shinigami combat arts which includes Swordmanship and Zanjutsu
@@jocoolshow It does mean that because in ch.523 pg.19, it's stated that Unohana laid the foundations of what Squad 11 is, which is why they only focus on physical strength and swordsmanship. Secondly, you said spiritual power determines physical strength. If that was the case then, in Kubo's databook Yama has a(体力)physical strength rating of 60 while Unohana's is a 90. So either that means Unohana has way more SP than Yama or you got something incorrect because she's physically stronger than Yama by a lot. Also after mastering all 8k sword styles she was given the title of"Death Sword"(ch.687).
I kinda see them as the most bloodlusted, barbaric, overwhelming in physical and mental nature or power and or hax so fierce you get that name. That’s just my interpretation I can definitely be completely wrong.
I highly disagree. It doesn't mean physical either. It's just a very hyperbole bs title. It shouldn't be taking seriously ever. Kenpachi or unohona were never the strongest shinigami of their time. Ichigo, aizen, and yama, are the true strongest.
@@rayvonvelez3129 Not according to what Kubo's written about the title. You may think it's hyperbole but that's your opinion and you're entitled to it.
Unohana in Base (with no Healing) Gave Kid Kenpachi (100% base Kenpachi) a good fight (although weaker). Which means their bases are similar (maybe even on par if she heals herself). She is mainly Underrated because during their second "battle": Unohana (bankai) does to Kenpachi (base). But everybody forgets that happened because: 1) she had the goal to make Kenpachi 100% because she felt guilty + achieved it + accepted her fate/took Kenpachi last attack without resistance 2) she did a Genocide of Kenpachis while in base before that (that uses energy) 3) she insta healed Kenpachi the same number of times (takes EVEN MORE energy than Killing Kenpachi) 💀 Back before: Base Unohana is on par with Base Kenpachi. So Bankai Unohana is indeed an absolute horrifying being😨 Also, comparing Gerard to Byakuya/toshiro to Kenpachi bankai and saying they surpass Kenpachi is stupid. Kenpachi surpasses them in stats. He just doesn't have comtrol Over his bankai that he learned 1 minute ago (literally unconscious in bankai) + Gerard Hax lets him survive any stats.
Unohana haters must be malding now that Mr. Kubo blatantly confirmed in his last q&a that Aizen was certain that he would have had an extremely difficult time defeating Unohana, and that was when he had Gin as backup too.
Yeah, base aizen isn't really that strong to begin with. I confused that some people assuming that he the strongest captain or even close to Yamamoto, when the databook and aizen himself say otherwise.
You know they would spin this to claim People surpassed Captain Aizen in TYBW, kubos is Bleach's God in the end and according to him the statements from Yhwach and Head Captain Shunsui about the OG captains being the strongest remains as a fact. Unohana is stronger than everyone in the Gotei 13 except unshackled Zaraki, old man Yamamoto and Aizen then the rest follow, meaning before zaraki just as the databooks claimed, she was the 3rd strongest captain.
@randomdude3773 his "base" form is way weaker than yamamoto, the bleach "unmasked" databook literally stated that he is no match for Yamamoto. And aizen himself said that Yamamoto power "surpassed" him, in Japanese translation. That's why I confused why people assume his base is stronger than yamamoto, when the character itself said he doesn't.
She killed then healed 1 of the 5 special war powers over, and over, and over again. . . . . .that should easily sum up her power level for non-believers.
@yamomspotatosalad818 lmao explain more please 🙏🏾 Your "proof" if you may [Not throwing shade either, because honestly with the ? at the end, I'm not even sure how I should take it. Could be that you were asking the the naysayers 'how' "this doesn't prove anything?", without the "how" so I apologize in advanced]
Not all that impressive considering quite a few characters at that point could have done that There were quite a few individuals who at that point were stronger than Kenny All that means is she is stronger than Kenny was while he was holding back Keep in mind that the power that would kill her gets its ass kicked by two members of the Quincy Royal Guard
By the way I always found it weird that there's individuals holding this Title of Kenpachi which is supposed to designate someone as the strongest But there's several individuals who are much stronger than they are yamamoto as well as the head of the Royal Guard in fact any of the Royal Guard are stronger than One to hold the title of Kenpachi and shunui we were stronger than most individuals who held that title It seemed strange that there's this title that ultimately seems kind of pointless because For at least 99% of that title's existence there's always been the head captain who can kick their ass
@@yami122The title of Kenpachi is based in physicality, strength, and sword combat Yamamoto was stronger than Unohana overall but she was stronger than him physically and was uncontested in her swordplay Ultimately anyone can become Kenpachi by defeating the current one so even Kido types can take the title but since squad 11 itself is based in physical combat instead of any type of Kido makes it unlikely that a kido type would become Kenpachi
Wow this was such a great video! I always thought the Kenpachi title meant the strongest in swordplay and physical aptitude, so to me it never clashed with people like Yamamoto being above her overall. I also feel like people tend to match her up with characters that even Zaraki has no chance of beating like the Elite Guard or the Zero Division so she by default gets put in an unfavorable light. If the Hell arc continues, she’s almost guaranteed to get some action so maybe then she’ll get some more concrete feats to match up to all the crazy statements. She’s too good of a character to only have her true nature locked in the vacuum of her final fight with Zaraki.
Thank you! 😊 Yeah I agree the title of kenpachi mostly just means physically the strongest and their swordplay. Also I can't wait for the hell arc. I just know kubo is about to give her and yama a power boost
@@Sasori2105 it does but let's not forget she's a master at kido and kaido and let's not forget her shikai and bankai she's basically a super sayin 4 right now lol. Yammamoto couldn't beat her so in respect he asked her to join the gotei. If they ever fought then he lost and she prolly scared him up or come to think of it she prolly trained him. but I do know unohanas only scar comes from kid zaraki and Yamamoto scars look like he been thru some hell to get where he's at so unohana might have her name on his body but yes he's not stronger than her. He might have the most destructive bankai ill give him that but unohanas bankai was big enough to cover the muken so she's basically immortal in her bankai so flames can't counter acid.... Damn she's really scary
I was absolutely elated seeing this video recommended to me, Unohana's my absolute favorite character in the series so it was a great surprise! This video cleared up, corrected and reinforced many notions I already had about the series and Unohana herself, and I love how in-depth about her strength AND skills! One other aspect of her that I'm fascinated in his her backstory, and I've honestly never had that much interest in a character's backstory *until her.* Unohana earning the reputation of being the greatest criminal mastermind in Soul Society? That speaks volumes of what kind of villain she was back then and I desperately hope to learn more about that one day, especially since Kubo apparently outlined her backstory once but chose NOT to air it in the new anime despite the opportunity being there...
I just noticed my many typo and spelling errors ^^' But likewise!! There's something about her beyond her strength and power that I find extremely enthralling and intriguing about her character!
The thing is you have to understand the Samurai culture first. It may seem dumb and stupid for western audiences to die in such times but to those who have deep understanding about the culture can understand. They value honor and pride so much thats why you often hear the characters talk about it and some revolve their decisions around it. Thats why Shunsui being the new HC was a breath of fresh air and a interesting shift in authority. He is willing to "play dirty"/disregard honor so he could do his job (which Yamamoto wouldnt). She wasnt just killed for nothing, shes hell-bent to accomplish her personal mission even if it costs her life. She knew from the day when she got gapped by Zaraki that she shouldve died and the title Kenpachi should be passed on but failed to do so because Zaraki decided to nerf himself. Thats been her dilemma for hundreds of years until she found out how to un-nerf Zaraki. That was her only goal. She knew that squad 4 would be safe with Isane and that Zaraki would be far stronger than her. Sure her dying is a waste of screen time potential but she has reached her goal and that concludes her character....... for now. We all know that if Kubo decides to continue the Hell Arc after TYBW is done Unohana would resurface again and maybe even have a more significant role in that arc.
I don't think she was physically, but power wise, I think was waaaaaay up there. Gotta remember she was constantly healing Zaraki during their fight. I also think if Zaraki would've had his shikai and Bankai, I'm not sure he would still win just because how her Bankai works. She didn't even have to be close to melt the flesh off of Zaraki

Dedicating a large part of the video on showing how much Zaraki leveled up was really great. It really showed how much he grew just for Unohana to absolutely demolish him without Shikai. I think the main problem with Unohana's perception is that she only really fights Zaraki who's power level fluctuates that much. The average viewer doesn't understand just how MASSIVELY Zaraki has grown amd how great of a deal Unohana's power is. Another matchup would've really solidified her power level but then again I'm also pretty satisfied with her conclusion from a thematic and character writing standpoint. So I'm not sure if that's something I'd change if I had the opportunity to.
Unohana was able to easily beat Kenpachi with no eye patch (the same Kenpachi who just killed 3 Sternritter with eye patch on) and consistently "kill" him and heal him back up again for 3 days straight. The length is implied with the writting in the manga where the fight is paralleled with Renji and Ichigo finding their Asauchi. Which is said to take 3 days. The insane amount of Reiokyo she would need to do this is hard to even phantom. Since healing someone restores their spirit energy Kenpachi's was never going down, while Unohana had to use hers to both fight and heal him. I would also argue that she probably could have healed herself (with her Bankai or Kaido) at the end so she wouldn't have died. But the narrative makes it clear that she wants to and is choosing this death. Overall I feel like many people are low balling her, when the series makes it clear that she could beat 90% of the captains with swordmanship and reiatsu alone.
@-------....___ she herself wasn't a war power, kenpachi was, whom unohana was much stronger than at the time he was placed as one of the five. I think part of the strategy of the quincy was to separate the war powers and take them on individually. Had the war powers teamed up against the quincy, it likely would've been a slaughterhouse.
@-------....___ it might be that her intention to die at kenpachis' hand might've been considered when deciding between the two.. But also, the fact that kenpachis ability to grow beyond her eventually would also balance more towards kenpachi.
I think behind yama, she's obviously the strongest. When you see just how many times she easily killed a leveling up kenpachi, its undeniable. That same Zaraki could go toe to toe with every captain. That same Zaraki beat two captains at the same time.
The only argument i can make for aizen without the hogyoku is the fact everyone elwas under the influence of his kyokasuigetsu, if not for that, it would be really close. Aizen straight up admitted being inferior to yamamoto in a straight up fight, unohana is not less talented when it comes to zanjutsu.
imo shes the third strongest captain behind yama and aizen. People love to take her feats and statements out of context, when in fact if you analyze it properly the feats and statements are there to prove shes up there just behind yama
I think for Unohana it was more of a personal preference for what defines „strongest“ for her. When it comes to soul reapers that powerful to be allowed to fight due to their instinct. Ichigo was the reason why Zaraki wanted to become stronger after years of boredom.
The thing with Kenpachis statement of the Strongest despite Yamamoto existence is that Unohana is physically stronger than anyone in the Gotei 13. She was stronger than Yamamoto however Yamamoto has the most Destructive Zanpaktou. With Ryujin Jakka he doesn't need to be the strongest physical fighter when his blade erases existence. In Kendo Retsu would beat Yamamoto but in a fight Yamamoto in shikai destroys her as his Zanpaktou is just too strong. Kenpachi who killed Retsu has feats later that has his strength arguably being higher than Ichibei. And Shunsui states Yamamoto is leagues stronger than anyone still alive to double down that it's probably moreso his Zanpaktou is unmatched which is stated several times.
I don't get why so many people in this comment section are trying to downplay her. There really isn't a lot to go on regarding her upper limits. We have context but very little actual hard evidence to just how strong she truly is. When she fought kid Zaraki, he was fighting full out, and she was fighting with him. She admits that he's stronger, and then he subconsciously limited himself. The fact that this was the costs l closest to death he has ever been and fearing losing that feeling means, in his eyes, she was his only rival. And i think Kubo wrote kid Zaraki with the same idea of baby spiders and snakes being more likely to put all their power in due to lack of control. So Zaraki, even at that young age, was probably at peak output to keep up with her, which days a lot about his upper limits. But as the video said, he adjusted his power to his enemy to prolong the fight. So he likely lowered his power to what he's been at the start of the series when we first see him. By that logic, they were both leveling up since they first encounter, since that was before she learned healing and other abilities. Regarding the numerous enemies. We don't know if she could or could not beat them. What we do know is that they NEVER provoked her. This video makes a great point that she was loyal to her task of being a healer and sticking to her duty. But yet Aizen and even Ywhach never sent anyone or did anything to provoke or outright attack her. "Let the lion stay in its cage." Regarding the fight with Adult ken. You must first take ALL of his feats up to that point, plus no eye patch, plus her teaching him as they fought, plus the fact that he goal wasn't to win. She had no intention of surviving that fight into consideration. She knew he had limits, but he went in At, to his knowledge, 100%."Even if i have to kill and revive you thousands of times. I won't stop until I've undone my sin." Basically, her whole goal was to get him back to peak, nothing more. And no one knew about his blocks but her. I believe, even for him, it's subconscious. So no one knew he WASN'T at full power when he went into that fight. So if everyone in soul society believed him to be the trump card in terms of power, then she was still leagues ahead of him. With that being said. I would have rather they both left the prison to fight unchained together. Makes more sense to have your two strongest fight vs. Just the 1. But, again, the rule of kenpachi is that there can only be one. In conclusion, it's kinda silly to assume who she couldn't beat because she was purposely left vague in her upper limits. Plus, any leveling up other characters have done post her death, it could also be assumed she would ALSO train and level up. We never see her train because that would be counter to revealing her to be an adapt and deadly shinigami despite her soft characterization. Plus she's mastered every sword technique so she could only really level her kido or spiritual pressure.
Except we do We watched her death match her upper limits is what she was using when she got a sword through the throat And she straight up states that her best is much weaker than Zaraki's best when he's in base form No upgraded forms of his sword And there is also the fact that she was not given the title of head captain and since every position in The Soul Reaper's hierarchy including that of the Royal Guard is based on strength shunsui Is clearly stronger than her She's a monster at the time of her death as well but unfortunately for her feats she dies early on in the ark right before a bunch of characters get a bunch of power boosts that cause a lot of characters to really raise the ceiling of how strong individuals Renji goes from being one of the Strongest lieutenants to straight up being able to manhandle an individual who was manhandling two captains and mask wasn't even in his strongest form when he beat the two captains yet his strongest form couldn't Even Scratch Renji Ichigo and zaraki benefit ludicrously from power Boost And completely redefine what it means to be in the upper echelons of power in bleach to the point where the strongest espada now come off as comically underpowered And she just does not Benefit from this at all and she falls quite a bit from being either second or third strongest captain to not even being in the top 10 strongest characters in the story anymore
I feel Hitsugaya is the next "Yamamoto" he's the most powerful ice Zanpakuto, it's large and uniquely shaped, just like Yamamoto's , he's a child prodigy, being stronger than most mid tier captains, he even stalemated Espada 3 (goes to show how overrated the Espadas were, espeacially Ulquiorra) Not to mention, he didn't even master his Bankai before the Espada showdown. I think Kenpachi is a unique outlier, but I think Hitsugaya is the next Yamamoto/ ice version.
Ever since I was a kid I always found it strange that everyone was scared of unohana ,even the top captains fell in line when she made her presence 😂 so figuring out she was the first Kenpachi was definitely surprising but believable ! She basically could’ve dog walked the whole hueco mundo by herself besides aizen
Was she the strongest soulreaper.. not necessarily, mainly because of squad zero and old man yama, I'd say she's just behind them, all of which are on a different level entirety, so i believe she was the strongest soulreaper that isn't a force of nature like those 5, basically meaning she was the strongest soulreaper in a reasonable sense
Yama is legit stated to be the strongest shini with non surpassing him for over 2000 years and that includes Division 0 as they came from the Gotei 13. Yama has never been surpassed. Also shown when no protagonist wanted to fight him head on and aimed to fight him after weakening him.
@@Mc12Demonkiller if u think yama is stronger than squad zero who shake the realms when realising their bankais then idk what to tell u my guy cuz yama aint beating ichibe n most of squad 0
@ “no Soul Reaper in 2000 years has been born stronger then me” Nuff said. Shake the realm…when releasing…Yamas was destroying the realm… None of the main protagonists wanted to take him head on. Not a single one of Division 0 was stronger then Yama prior to being selected and all where selected because of their unique powers. Kenpachi was offered a spot and refused…Yama is leagues above him. They were selected for abilities…not power. Aizen was so calculated and was confident in defeating Division Zero and their captain yet refused to go toe to toe with Yama. Everyone loves to read into the part that they where selected for their abilities and how it is explained but omits the verbiage and other evidence that says yes they are strong but they where selected because of raw power or power in general. There more to it but Yama is declared the strongest which is key here and that fits the lock that he is stronger.
@@Mc12Demonkiller not 2000 years, but 1000 years. No shinigami stronger than him in 1000 years. But I'm agree with you, at least s0 member except ichibe is below yamamoto.
@ I would disagree that Ichibe is stronger. Ywacha (don’t pronounce it) was killed by Yama and during the fight with Ichibe he wasn’t at full power yet from his days of old. Against Yama, Y stole his Bankai knowing that activating it would make the fight differently, but against Ichibe he didn’t do a similar tactic and he didn’t seem to try as much but still hit Ichibe with a super long range attack that did get him. What makes Ichibe dangerous is his ability which requires close contact and direct hits or his ink…but Yama hits the temperature of the sun and the clone (which is relatively close in power to the original) had to use the blue bubble on his body to prevent from dying and with a swipe of his sword evaporated a large chunk of his body. Now why do I bring that up. In Bankai he gets a coat of armor that’s as hot as the sun and the ink he spews wouldn’t be able to reach him because as it is stated the fire doesn’t burn…it erases. In Shikai or zenkia Ichibe would most likely win (high dif in zenkai because of the fire aspect) but in Bankai…Ichibe would stand a chance because his abilities wouldn’t and couldn’t work. So in raw power he is the strongest. In straight up devestation…Yama…hitting power…Yama…Spirit Pressure and Riastu…Yama…Hakido…more or less equal. Versatility…Yama is a nuke but Ichibe is a computer nerd and hacker. Considering Y and the relation to the Soul King and the fact that Division Zero wasn’t really hinted at and how he acts Ichibe is roughly 800-900 years old. I think Ichibe was selected as head of the Royal guard for a couple reasons…one is his ability which got super amped by Soul King…his more calm demeanor and the fact he isn’t a power house like Yama. Yama said he will kill the clone quick to prevent his flames from destroying the soul society (Royal Realm is apart of the soul society). Yama is also the only one in the Gotei 13 that knows about the Royal realm as he is the holder of the Key and those that get selected for for Division 0 he opens the way. Now they say all of Division 0 would equal the might of the Gotei 13 which sounds impressive however a few things to take into account. Yama took on 2 captains and beat them down 6 times as they got healed and he was still going strong. He also alone is capable of soloing the rest of the Gotei 13. Only a couple heavy hitters and they aren’t even heavy compared to Yama. I surmise that considering Yama is insanely strong and that each division 0 member was a captain who was amongst the strongest besides Yama that honestly Division 0 vs Yama might be a fair fight still. Especially considering that each member is supposed to be on a different level the any member from the Gotei 13 but yet they would be able to fight on equal ground. If each member was a level higher meaning each member is equal to 2-3 captains easily the match would only be equal because of Yama.
I would say 3rd Shunsui In particular was definitely stronger than her His banki versus hers would not be a contest And even before that his Power over children's games Would be too much for her to handle And there's a few others I would put over her Remember she was only the best when it came to healing and swordsmanship and since a lot of individual's powers are not swordsmanship based urahara would also defeat her easily as again his bankai perfectly counters all of her abilities she might also struggle against shinji though she might also just instantly kill him before he can activate his ability
@@leekwtf2 Yamamoto Straight up tells him and ukitake That they are the second strongest captains behind himself Furthermore Shunsui took the title of head captain which is a title given to the strongest soul Reaper if she was stronger than him she would not be his subordinate Lastly although this point is more opinionated the final forms of their powers Shunsui is much more devastating If you're an Anime only spoilers below his play of death utterly trumps her acidic blood once he activates his play she cannot harm him without killing herself and she is going to get her head cut off Note that a intangible being that can regenerate was unable to heal the wounds it was getting during the play until the play ended
@@yami122 First off Yama never told Ukitake and Shunsui that they were the second strongest captains behind him, this isn’t at all true. He simply said that they were transcendent. But this statement was only referring to the members of the academy, Shunsui and Ukitake literally were not even captains yet. There is no statement in bleach that says being head captain is only a title given to the strongest soul reaper, literally none, just your personal headcanon. Unohana isn’t Shunsui’s subordinate, again just another claim without any basis or proof to actually back it up. Final forms do not matter when it comes between who is stronger than the other, like at all, neither one of their bankai have been shown to be conceptual, so it isn’t anything that you can’t bypass, it all takes the use of their spiritual power. Also Lille Barro doesn’t need to heal from Shunsui’s final act, he can literally regenerate, resurrect and is an immortal. Also just cause lille Barro is an elite does not mean that his spiritual power exceeds that of any character. His spiritual power is only comparable to that of a bankai shunsui, not even that a shikai shunsui. Lille Barro spiritual pressure isn’t what’s impressive about him, it’s his passive abilities that are. Mind you Shikai shunsui has shown no feats to be much stronger than he was in fkt when he fought stark. And his bankai multiplier is 5-10x meaning that he gained power 5-10x higher than Lille just based off of sp alone. Unohana has already far exceeded the power that Shunsui has, by fighting Kenny without his eyepatch at his max potential. Mind you Kenny after his fight with Unohana went to fight Gremmy, the Bambis, Pernida, and Gerard all with his eyepatch on in his base form. His eyepatch literally decreases 50-100x his power, as it’s a much stronger eyepatch than his old one. So she would blatantly be able to bypass his final act with spiritual pressure alone, as it takes his own spiritual pressure to cut off the opponents head(stated by lille himself)

Excellent video and well-articulated points. I’ve been making posts about this in Reddit and Quora for years but, yeah, the community fights against this constantly. +1 sub from me
I always felt robbed about the excuse they used to kill her, having both her and zaraki fight against the quinci would have been amazing, it feels like the bankai stealing ability, a cool concept that went nowhere
I really loved the insane foreshadowing about her from S2 of the anime. She made 2 rowdy injured members of Squad 11 nearly brown their pants with a few polite words. They're probably too young to know her history, but she still knows how to be menacing and polite at the same time. It was masterful writing and the payoff was an extremely slow burn. How many arcs did we get between her first menacing look and the big reveal? No wonder Aizen couldn't fool her with his illusory cadaver. She's probably stacked and unstacked so many bodies over the years that the flaws immediately screamed at her.
So basically her Bankai creates a pool of rieatsu, hers and the opponent's. It's then allows her to use it in the form of blood to heal and whip and hit. Proof, look at how they both look during the fight, they both look more skinny they both end up reduced to skeletons just a theory, but It seems to make sense
actually the heal effect dont came from her bankai, its kido, she mentioned this in the battle that she learned heal to heal the opponents and keep fighting (bc normally she kills everyone too easily), and if I remember, she was training the heal abilities with Tenjiro from 0 Division.
Since I was a child, I always like unohana because of her kindness yet intimidating personality. But when she being shown as the 1st kenpachi, i just got a goosebumps when reading the manga and anime. Like you know its anime but still you got the chill 🥶
Im pretty sure she was given her title of Kenpachi BEFORE joining the Gotei 13 1000 years ago (or more), being apart of her being the most dangerous criminal.
@@CaptainHavoc would have yo ask on Klub Outside BUT yeah I don't see it being much of a stretch. Before even joining the Gotei 13 her name was Yachiru Unohana rather than Retsu, and it's never mentioned when she Mastered 8,000 styles (Would likely be during the time prior to or slightly after the original Quincy war, with her sometime fighting Kenpachi sometime in the last thousand years, thinking 400~ years given how young Toshiro is at 130 and the difference in appearance of Yamamoto 1,000 years apart going from being middle aged to an old man)
good vid for covering her power I've not really seen someone go has in depth on her power, one thing ill say on a comment you made is i think yuroichi ,kisuke ,issin are above the byakuya tier , maybe shinsui has well in bankai
@Egroth Thanks! And I agree I think kisuke is arguably shinigami Aizen level. The cfyow novels kinda solidifies this when he fights aura. Yoruichi and isshin I also agree being above the byakuya tier. Shunsui is arguable as well
Issin and Ryuken should be interesting. I really hope Kubo is going to give them more screentime/a fight in the next cour. Because they should def be highest tier Captain
I am pretty sure she means in a straight fight, like sword against sword, she is the strongest soul reaper which I would say is true. The only real competition for her is yamamoto and he fights mostly with fire based abilities.
@@CaptainHavoc I do think Yamamoto is the best fighter of the 'Soul Reaper' style he invented and a cunning and experienced warrior, but Yachiru is literally the one who mastered ALL styles. Based on what Yhwach said about how Yamamoto kept his original captain in line, he probably beat her by being willing to just nuke the whole area if it meant bringing her down, and that show of abject lack of care for life won her respect.
Yamamoto died -> Unohana was the strongest Shinigami -> Unohana defeated by Zaraki -> Zaraki is the strongest Shinigami. Like we get a direct comparison to Ichigo/Byakua/Renji after he defeats Unohana (who all were going through Royal Guard training). Shunsui got diffed by Robert who got lol'd by Byakuya. So unless Shunsui went through a massive power up in a few days there was no Shinigami stronger than Unohana after Yamamoto died. Which was the entire point of boosting Zaraki in the first place
Yeah shunsui'a scaling is werid. But it is shown and hinted at why he lost to Robert. He wasn't mentally at 100% during the fight. Shunsui was off guard twice and mentally not focused while fighting robert. When he 1st gets his eye taken out, he admits he is not calm and flustered. Then shunsui gets his morale back when Yamamoto is flying through the soul society and even manages to damage robert. Then after yama dies, shunsui again falls back into being not calm and flustered and gets taken out. He is really werid. Yeah he either got a massive mental buff or was super weakened during the 1st invasion 😭
Kyoraku did get ‘buffed’ between the 1st and 2nd invasion. Remember early in the series, Urahara said that life and death scenarios are what make spiritual power grow the most. Whether he was mentally nerfed against Robert or not, he almost died and came back on a level behind an Auschwalen Amped Lille when even a Base Lille should be above a Vollstandig Robert
Still Unohana is the deadliest, imagine she can just choose to just kill Zaraki and don't heal him anymore. Esp at that bankai level of Unohana, she couldve been an asset versus Yhwach's elite soldiers.
One of the biggest problems with Unohanas scaling is that in every major fight with Zaraki she arguablely throws. In her fight with kid Zaraki he is outright implied to be stronger than Unohana in that moment but the problem is that fight wasn’t really a standard Soul Reaper V Soul Reaper fight. While Unohana seemingly lost in base she also didn’t even attempt to release Shikai let alone bankai, it’s very evident she lost in swordplay alone. Obviously this might be arbitrary because she theoretically would have died anyways if Zaraki had immediately limited himself however can it really be argued that he still would have won if Unohana tried? This moment also brings Zarakis actual scaling into question as well, if we take everything literally than Zaraki had only just reached the level of his kid self while fighting Unohana in Muken. So the question lyes how did Unohana lose their second fight. Well we get the answer almost immediately, Unohana entered Muken with the resolve to die, meaning once her goal was achieved she planned on throwing. This really sucks because it essentially boils down the fight to not really being serious from Unohanas side and once the question of which one is really stronger comes up she was already predisposed to not even attempt to answer it. In my mind it would really only makes sense that if they both tried seriously Zaraki would only win once he at least learned to control his bankai, I truly wouldn’t think Zaraki would outscale Unohana without his bankai and during the TYBW he couldn’t even use it without destroying himself which means minazuki could out heal any damage he managed to land but obviously the question at this point in the fandom is already decided.
One of the key details the wider community often forgets is just how much reiryoku she would have needed to expend to get Zaraki to where he is at that point. If it takes him a near death experience to unlock the next teir of his power, she's having to heal him back from a near death strike almost every time. Most of the battle and healing happens off-screen. By the time the battle gets serious and concludes, we were probably watching a new base Zaraki beat an Unohana that was relatively depleated of her spirit energy (40-20% by the time she activates banki.)
Agreed! They fought for 3 days and nights if I'm not mistaken. We know this because this fight was happening when ichigo and renji where training with oetsu. It took them 3 days and nights I think and oetsu says this himself
@@ezramiller8936 did unohana say near death? No she said kill lol stop downplaying what she did unohana can take life and give it zaraki was in hell fighting her lol that nigga should had walked out with PTSD lol
@@CaptainHavoc indeed. After Orihime, she’s my favorite girl. Maybe if BLEACH is ever rebooted, Kubo will layer her reveal a bit more and give us glimpses of her depth and scope. I’d honestly love a prequel set before the Gotei 13 leading to its foundation with her as the main antagonist.
Unohana killed kenpachi hundreds of times in their final fight which then made him the strongest captain alongside shunsui so Unohana was definitely at least top 4 including yama Yama Kenpachi Shunsui=unohana but kenpachi grows to be stronger then yama ofc
I still wished we actually got an explanation for her Bankai because that heavily changes her powerscaling honestly. Hopefully Hell Arc is a thing and she returns because she became one of the coolest Captains, only to die after. And is there a bigger down-grade than Unohana to Isane💩
I think the ability is pretty obvious. It allows her to damage and heal enemies or friends or herself in the midst of combat. She literally killed and brought kenpachi back so many times in their fight for Kenpachi that he basically kept getting a zenkai boost when he was brought back.
I do too, but we at least know some of it abilities just from what was seen. Her Bankai clearly creates a massive yet shallow ocean of blood from which she can extend her sword swings in various ways. Either whipping it towards her enemies like ranged slices or surrounding herself with a sort of shield/dome of blood blades. The blood also heals her automatically as we saw when her stomach wound sealed up almost instantly. Now for some speculations. I assume her bankai can heal anyone within its radius, as Zaraki was seen being slain multiple times in the Bankai and just got back up. So either it automatically heals them or she can choose who it heals. I also thought it might be possible that she can control the blood in other various ways, maybe similarly to the way Byakuya controls his Senbonzakura. Imagine if she could throw massive columns or waves of blood at enemies, or shape it into spikes or really anything she can come up with. Also a theory I’ve had since the anime reveal of her Bankai is that perhaps while her Bankai is active, neither Unohana nor her opponent/opponents can die (kinda like Shuhei’s Bankai), at least until she deactivates the Bankai. This would make sense for Unohana as she would be able to satisfy her thirst for battle as long as she wants. However this would make her Bankai somewhat situational, as she would not need it unless she finds a worthy opponent, or an opponent stronger than her and so by using her Bankai she creates a safe guard allowing herself to fight without worry of death until she finds a way to defeat her enemy.
One of the things that can be compared between Unohana and Yamamoto that most people overlook are their scars, especially because their scars are highlighted in the story or databooks. Unohana has 1 single scar that she got from Zaraki. Yamamoto is covered in scars. Something to note is that healing with kaido won't remove scars, so it's not like Unohana doesn't have any because of her healing. Hikifune said the 0 Division have spiritual pressure in an entirely different dimension. There's no way the 7th Kenpachi's reiatsu is relative to unsealed 0 Division members.
Also once they becoma Div 0 captain their bones gets remodeled with bones of Soul King, increasing ones power to extreme heights, so if Zaraki or 7th became a Squad 0 captain they also get power boost from bone remodeling
@@RakutenZero na kirio already had outlandish spiritual pressure due to her abilities, all zero squad members buff others and themselves even without SK parts.
Omg the scars is a good point! Also sorry I must have said it wrong in the video, but I meant he either rivals the sealed division members individually, as them as a group. Still sealed though. They clearly would be above him unsealed, especially since they have the oken with the power up
@@CaptainHavocIt's here in the name of the title after all. 剣 means "Sword" and 八, while nowadays means "eight", had the original meaning "to divide". So Kenpachi essentially means "Sword-cleaver".
She was number 1 besides Captain Yamamoto of the original Gotei 13 and if we find out that she was the one that gave Yamamoto those scares in a fight when he first met her then that proves the point even more that yes she was the strongest besides him, also the fact that everyone got quiet when she walked into the meeting room speaks volumes.
@@CaptainHavoc Me too and it would make since if she was his first recruited and she was blood lust when he meet her, so I would definitely assume that for her to follow him he would’ve had to shown he was stronger.
My headcannon is that Unohana was calling herself the strongest and adopted the name Kenpachi to back it up until she meets Yamamoto and he was like: I beg your pardon ? And recruited her to the Gotei 13 😂
@@wingzero7678 My headcanon is that all the wounds on Yamamoto's body were put there by Unohana when he went to recruit her for the Gotei 13 and she fought him to see if he was worthy of her. Of course she triumphed in strength and swordsmanship but had to yield when Yama used his shikai or bankai.
@@kanoreese1253 I'm down to believe she was the better swordsman, but I just can't see her beating him once he releases his bankai. Maybe shikai, but not bankai.

This might sound disingenuous but I think my favorite implication of her being so powerful is that after Aizen left Hueco Mundo, the undisputed strongest character there *during that time* wasn't Vasto Lorde Ichigo... *...but Unohana*
It's not just that. There is only one character shown in Bleach that Aizen outright refused to fight, and that's Unohana. He had an opportunity in Soul Society and chose to run. He had an opportunity in Hueco Mundo and chose to run, arguably setting up the whole situation to keep Unohana away from him.
@@caiocomarella4691 Never said he wasn't. However at the two points he had a chance to fight Unohana he was pre hogyoku. First was during the soul society arc when he first stole it, and second was just after he implanted it and was waiting to power up. At that point he was clearly concerned about fighting her and took the precaution to simply not fight her. He very clearly gets a lot stronger than her, and he could probably beat her before that point but he was doing his best to avoid even needing to. She's the only character he gave that level of respect to, being willing to go toe to toe with Urahara and Yamamoto.
I have heard that the title of the strongest shinigami, the kenpachi, belongs to that of the strongest of the current generation of shinigami. Thus, looking at it this way, technically Unohana could be the strongest of her generation. This excludes Yama because he very well could be older then her and he was the strongest of his generation
@CaptainHavoc Yeah and I mean it would make sense for Unohana to be the strongest of her generation of Shinigami because let's keep it a buck Yamamoto would out dps her rather easily in Bankai. So her being the strongest of the generation she born into would make more sense. So think of it like when she was born, any Shinigami Bron from then after is her generation and she was the strongest of them. This would exclude Yamamoto
i wish the title of kenpachi actually had any bearing on the strongest when speaking of transcended beings, i always thought that the kenpachi of any era should really be the strongest shinigami but unfortunately u have to exclude certain individuals and groups fior that to actually true. she is powerful im just disappointed at how they did zaraki, and especially Unohana they shouldve played a greater role in the final battle agains ywach
I DEFINITELY agree with this! Their role should have been alot bigger and they could have actually showed us why the title of kenpachi is so important. Which could have been done with certain fights
Meh anyone who did good against the post Auswhallen Schuztafael in their fights scales above Unohana and the base Zaraki that beat her and so do Yamamoto and Kamikake Ukitake
I still believe that Unohana was suppressing or holding back her Bankai's abilities. Kubo mentioned that Yamamoto and Unohana would return in the Hell arc, so is that why he chose not to reveal her full powers?
Same, I think her bankai couldn't fit for training purpose or she just want a to fight with Zanjutsu. I believe she used her Bankai for her own powerboost and create a field of auto-healing to make things easier.
@@bignoob2726 they are still classified as shinigami tho, so she cant be the strongest if all these ppl is stronger than her. Even kenpachi as a kid is stronger than her.
This is amzing. I would love to hear your thoughts on the Q&A for kubo, when asked what happened once unohana and yama first crossed paths . He responded hinting that he may still draw but it’s a secret (hinting at a battle). I think that would be amazing for her character, and the thought of her even being able to challenge yama speaks to her strength & skills. Imagine that she’s the reason yama has all of those scars, and yama eventually has to use his shikai or other techniques outside of just zanjutsu to subdue her !
Thanks! Well, I think we are definitely going to get a backstory on them letting us know they had a battle. There is no way Yamamoto being who he was back in the day as well as unohana didn't at least have a small scuffle. Her being the reason for most of his scars would be so cool 😭 Honestly can't wait and is one of the things I'm excited about in the hell arc
@@Geto-g1g thanks for proving that you can’t read. If kubo plans on drawing out their encounter, that means it’s was a battle not a 1shot fight. I never said she was stronger but to dismiss her ability to combat under a video that literally give you proof of her power is a different type of naive

Could u tell me where its stated they fought for days? People have told me this a lot, but I haven't found it. If you mean when oetsu tells renji and ichigo they've been training for days, I think it would be a mistake to apply linear time to two different events.
@@Blackmustache870 was the first and second attacks not days apart? I mean when your at their level would you be a fast shot and loose all of your stamina within minutes? But yes your correct to not apply different times but in this case its more implied that Ichigo and Zaraki were not too far off as I assume he came from the battle into another battle with him somehow not being curios to his Shikai (its Zaraki I see no reason he would not test it out) thus with his personality and the fact that both Ichigo was training for days and Zaraki not being curios to his own new Zanpakuto (though an argument could be said that its instinct) I am not saying this is the case but I have not seen anybody disputing (with references) that this is incorrect as Yachiru learned to heal so the can make the battle last for as long as possible and at her level I dont see why she would not be able to last for days until she was exhausted
My perspective on this, I think Yamamoto is the most Destructive or Powerful of any single Shinigami, with Kuruyashiki and Zaraki being just behind him. However, I think Battle Strength is different from Destructive Power, which is why I think Unohana could defeat Yamamoto in a fight, unless she allowed him to unleash the full might of his Bankai's destructive capabilities. Due to this, I think the title of Kenpachi is not about Destructive ability, but overall Combat Proficiency. Aside from that, you can actually use Star Wars Banite Power Scaling Logic towards the Kenpachi as well, outside of 2 specific instances in the 2nd and 9th Kenpachi where it sort of soft resets. This is why 2nd Kenpachi through 8th Kenpachi are much harder to rank against Unohana, I do think though the 8th *may* be comparible, but that is hard to say. However, I think the 7th Kenpachi would still be hard for Unohana to deal with, for the same reason Yamamoto would be. Interestingly, if you think about all this, this means that Zaraki has beaten 3 different "lines" of Kenpachi, as he beat the 10th, 8th, and 1st. This makes Zaraki the definative and unquestionable Shinigami of highest combat proficiency, while also having comparible destructive potential to Yamamoto(which is also insane). Where do people like Squad Zero, Aizen, Shunsui, and Ichigo come into this? I think Aizen's hax, plus his spiritual pressure are what threaten Unohana, he is strong in a very different way up until his transformations, then he is also strong destructively, but by that point he isn't *just* a Shinigami anymore. Likely based on the information we have seen in the most recent TYBW episode, he tried infusing(with the help of the hogyoku) Quincy, Hollow, Shinigami, Fullbring, and the whole nine yards of things into himself, as his goal was to usurp the position of Soul King himself, and remove "that thing" which sat on the throne. I would also say something simular about Ichigo, that he isn't really a Shinigami(or *just* a Shinigami). But, not thinking about that Caveat, I think TYBW Ichigo is likely stronger than Unohana and so is Aizen. Shunsui though is likely weaker, but due to the circumstances of his Bankai, he would likely win if she let him get it off, as while it isn't destructive, it is probably one of the most "final" of the Bankai. Shunsui likely couldn't train Zaraki for this reason, he knew that if he fought Zaraki and tried to train him, he would be forced to use Bankai and that would be unproductive for both of them, especially since I think Zaraki has more Spiritual Pressure, so unless Shunsui has other "Plays" within his Bankai, it wouldn't work out. Unohana was the only one who could do it, because she could beat Zaraki(when he is under his mental blocks) without some finality to the fight, and thus allow for him to remove the mental block and be better. Squad Zero is likely *only* stronger than Unohana because of the amps they get by being within Squad Zero, I do not think Ichibei would need those amps though. This means I think there is a distinctive difference in who can kill Unohana and who can defeat her, there are many who can kill her, just because of hax or destructive power, but her battle prowiss would suggest that they may not get a chance to use their strengths if they fight against her(simular to how the 8th Kenpachi beat the 7th, or how Aizen and Ywach deal with Yamamoto). That said, even then it could be debated whether Unohana has more spiritual pressure than Shunsui, and if she does, then he doesn't stand a chance even in bankai. I think the only ones who can kill Unohana are Yamamoto, Aizen, Ichigo, Zaraki, any from Squad Zero, Yhwach, the Schutzstaffel, fully amped Yami, second release Ulquiorra, Kuruyashiki, Shunsui, and Cien Grantz. However, the question is, how many of them would get the chance to kill her? I genuinely think the only ones who could for sure beat her are Aizen, Ichibei, Yhwach, and Zaraki. I do think Ichigo *may* be able to, but there are enough unknowns in there that I cannot really say, but I am leaning more towards he should be able to. As well as another who has potential, but I am not totally certain is Gerard Valkyrie of the Schutzstaffel might be able to as well, but I do not know, mostly though because of the nature of his abilities, and basically being the tankiest character I can think of in all of Bleach.
It's actually simple, ichibei, ichigo and aizen are the only "soul reapers" that are stronger than unohana. Neither squad zero nor yamamoto after the fake karakura town arc are as strong as her. Only zaraki kenpachi is stronger than her and that makes him the true strongest soul reaper.
Asnwer is No, excluding Zero division especially Ichibe, Yamamoto was made the leader of the original gotei for a reason, especially when most of them were notorious criminals, she might be the strongest in terms of fighting style but even She fears Yamamoto to a different degree as she was around during his old days where he was not only more ruthless but gave his enemies no consideration; those days were even the criminals of the Sereitei considered him an evil existence equivalent to Vasto Lordes Hollows like Ikidokomoe and an individual who made sure the likes of Barragan couldn't oppose the Gotei. He is consistently been said to have the strongest zanpaktou until Ichigo arrived and even Aizen fusing with the hogyoku was not so confident in taking him on one on one until he achieved his first few evolutions and he had to especially make Wonderweiss to counter his Zanpaktou in case he ever actually uses it against him and he if was short on time.
She doesnt fear yamamoto, yamamoto most likely got her to work with him because that way she’d find strong opponents often instead of senselessly wondering around looking for opponents
Youve got the wrong thinking about databook stats. Potential is and was never the implication otherwise neither toshiro or zaraki would have anything higher than a 50. The 100s in the databooks is simply the highest the databook records. All the numbers r basically tiers. Characters who have a 100 in any tier basically means (100 or higher) since the databook just doesnt put anything higher than a 100 and its tge max it goes.
Bare in mine she went in to that fight with the plan to loose if she really went all out she wouldn't of lost she one of the strongest kido users aswel she didn't even use kido she just wanted to wake him up and die if she didn't have that plan in mind ain't noway kenpachi would beat her not a chance in hell she can heal herself as she fights use kido at top tier levels also her bankai as we seen is no joke on top of all that her sword skill are top tier
Id say while unohana is underrated in terms of strength shes still underneath aizen (base) and yammamoto. Probably not as much as people think though. And in terms of swordplay she is probably the best
@Purriah lower in overall power. Spiritual pressure mostly. Sword skill wise as I mentioned, she wins. But aizen wouldn't fight unohana just straight up.
Hitsugaya is stronger in his bankai, Byakuya arguably surpassed her as well. If Shikai Zaraki was getting beat by Gerard then Unohana is DEFINITELY getting bullied. He was stronger than her with a random sword as a child.
@@JT-km6th Byakuya was getting his Bankai swatted by Gerard; and in the CFYOW novel it was literally stated that Gerard was able to ward off "superficial Bankai" with pure physical might. Central 46 would nvr allow that sadly since unohana was a renowned criminal it's as zaraki said all they would be is criminals if they weren't so powerful
Also I would like to add a few missed things about her bankai. Minazuki is Hot, Acid, or Both. In the anime upon activation her Bankai exudes clouds of steam during the entirety of the battle ( implying it was hot), when hitting zaraki with the ranged attacks the blood sizzled upon contact, also when coming into contact with the pillar of muken it sizzles (in my opinion implying some sort of acidity). It would make sense that her Bankai is acidic due to her shikai being surrounded by the theme of stomach acid that regens/heals & her Bankai being the opposite, acid that erodes obviously. Something else that everyone over looks is that fact this Both Zaraki and Unohna were both actually reduced to bones due to her bankai. Alot of people think that it was a figurative visual but that’s only half true. Firstly we see zaraki is being reduced to bone, while unohana is using her ranged attack and we clearly hear in the background that those attacks her hit zaraki. Secondly zaraki is looking at her whilst both are at a stand still, at first there is a white background behind both of them (implying about the figurative side of that battle) but what most over looks is that there’s a few moments when it cuts back to the actual battle and we see her being reduced with the steam, sizzling, and red background present (implying that was reality) Lastly if you slow down the clip of him attacking her as he fades in and out of reality, you can see her blood blade as they the began to affect zaraki. Just my opinion tho
your opinion is stupid tho. sorry, but that's true. i mean u can stick to it, u can claim that earth is flat too, but... it wont change the fact it's illogical. its indeed a visual, trying to portray their naked, primitive core. unohana is not orihime and cant reverse such damage as turning someone into skeleton. if that was the case she herself could have healed byakuya easily, without squad 0 having to take him. there was ZERO indication of her healing back from being skeleton. the only things that are shown are just healing normal wound in her stomach or cheek. after them turning into skeletons we saw them next second with 100% normal bodies. there was no healing, cause there wasnt any going on, it wasnt reality. your mind is in delulu land.

So the captain that lead the 11th division will get the "kenpachi" title, Since among others captain except head captain, they're the one that have to fight in front line. So it kinda make sense that they need to choose the strongest shinigami to lead 11th division among the captain except the head captain. And since "kenpachi" title tied to being 11th division captain, i think someone like yama or ichibe, that already have a higher rank doesn't really need it. Its my theory tho. And the question itself is, when kenpachi title is created ? Since the title tied to 11th division of gotei 13, did Yamamoto create it ? Considering he is the one that create the gotei.
You kinda wasted your time writing this because it’s stated, she lead that division and founded its original incentive. The title was given to her outside of the division.
@shiohender3022 I know she lead the division first, but the one who make the gotei 13 is Yamamoto. And it seems I'm missing something, so there's already a explanation that kenpachi titles it's already there before gotei 13 formed and can be held outside 11th division captain ? Can you tell me which chapter of manga or novel stated it ?
Hopefully they'll show more feats of Unohana in the upcoming arc, but she's not the strongest Shinigami. It could be argued that Unohana is the best sword-fighter, their greatest healer, & the most ferocious fighter, but Yamamoto's stronger. Since she wasn't also listed amongst the War Threats/Powers, there's clearly 5 characters stronger than her. It kinda sucks, because her & Yoruichi should round them out & add some females to that "boys club".
Yeah I think Yoruiche could be one too, it would be great if they were actually 7 But unohana probably was not a war threat for the same reason that Yama, she got soft in the present
@@user-bt7ix6sw2g I think that also speaks to yoruichis character, she’s from a noble family, but still an assassin, so she has that mystery about her, but we know she’s definitely strong asf.
@user-bt7ix6sw2g so far I feel like yoruichis title of flash goddess has just been for show. She hasn't rlly done anything for me to believe her speed could land her as a war potential.
@@Blackmustache870 Yoruichi cemented her title by blitzing Byakuya while carrying an unconscious Ichigo, as well as beating Soifon at her own game of speed. And given how formidable Yoruichi is w/o a Zanpakuto, something tells me she'd be a war potential if she had her sword (like every other war potential has).
@Blackblax ss arc byakuya realistically isn't as fast as people think. People assume hes rlly fckn fast because speed is HIS main asset, but that doesn't mean others who don't focus on speed aren't faster than him. The databooks say he within shusnsuis speed lvl(mobility, not reaction), in ss arc. Seeing as how while rusty, she got outsped by soi fon, i would need to see her ACTUALLY blitz a few higher tier characters for me to believe she'd be a wra potential as war potentials r characters that yhwach can't account for due to one characteristic or another, and I don't see yoruichi reaching lvls of speed that yhwcah can't at least track himself.
i think kenpachi was bored with yammy not because he was weak or anything like that, but because yammy didnt use everything/didnt really tried, mucgh because of his hollow ''dog'', that you see in the end of the battle, with yammy dying, and the dog barking at him, so yeah i think yammy couldnt use his 100% because he would have killed that hollow dog that he was attached to, even if he says otherwise
This is explained way back in the soul society arc. The kenpachi title refers to the strongest shinigami in a generation it does not mean that they are currently the strongest shinigami.
@@csortitoutseul behind Yamamoto, I'd say she's the next strongest. It'd have to be something pitched to Kubo to respond to, for confirmation. I believe part of any confirmation would depend on whether her real power was exposed to Central 46, as she existed before they did (which may or may not have made her bankai forbidden to openly use, but I have a theory on that too).
But everybody forgets that happened because:
1) she had the goal to make Kenpachi 100% because she felt guilty + achieved it + accepted her fate/took Kenpachi last attack without resistance
2) she did a Genocide of Kenpachis while in base before that (that uses energy)
3) she insta healed Kenpachi the same number of times (takes EVEN MORE energy than Killing Kenpachi) 💀
Back before: Base Unohana is on par with Base Kenpachi.
So Bankai Unohana is indeed an absolute horrifying being😨
Also, comparing Gerard to Byakuya/toshiro to Kenpachi bankai and saying they surpass Kenpachi is stupid.
Kenpachi surpasses them in stats.
He just doesn't have comtrol Over his bankai that he learned 1 minute ago (literally unconscious in bankai)
+ Gerard Hax lets him survive any stats.
BIG facts. I hate when people say byakuya and toshiro surpassed bankai kenpachi 😭
@@LegendarySaiyan-r8q Because he IS way stronger than Yamamoto and Unohana 💀 Fyo about
@randomdude3773 his "base" form is way weaker than yamamoto, the bleach "unmasked" databook literally stated that he is no match for Yamamoto.

One other aspect of her that I'm fascinated in his her backstory, and I've honestly never had that much interest in a character's backstory *until her.*
Unohana earning the reputation of being the greatest criminal mastermind in Soul Society? That speaks volumes of what kind of villain she was back then and I desperately hope to learn more about that one day, especially since Kubo apparently outlined her backstory once but chose NOT to air it in the new anime despite the opportunity being there...
Love that you found this video! Unohana is one of my favorites as well only recently. I really hope kubo gives us more about her in the hell arc
I just noticed my many typo and spelling errors ^^'
But likewise!!

Happy you enjoyed it, and im working hard on the next one now!

Except we do We watched her death match her upper limits is what she was using when she got a sword through the throat
And she straight up states that her best is much weaker than Zaraki's best when he's in base form No upgraded forms of his sword
And there is also the fact that she was not given the title of head captain and since every position in The Soul Reaper's hierarchy including that of the Royal Guard is based on strength
shunsui Is clearly stronger than her
She's a monster at the time of her death as well but unfortunately for her feats she dies early on in the ark right before a bunch of characters get a bunch of power boosts that cause a lot of characters to really raise the ceiling of how strong individuals
Renji goes from being one of the Strongest lieutenants to straight up being able to manhandle an individual who was manhandling two captains and mask wasn't even in his strongest form when he beat the two captains yet his strongest form couldn't Even Scratch Renji
Ichigo and zaraki benefit ludicrously from power Boost And completely redefine what it means to be in the upper echelons of power in bleach to the point where the strongest espada now come off as comically underpowered
And she just does not Benefit from this at all and she falls quite a bit from being either second or third strongest captain to not even being in the top 10 strongest characters in the story anymore
I feel Hitsugaya is the next "Yamamoto" he's the most powerful ice Zanpakuto, it's large and uniquely shaped, just like Yamamoto's , he's a child prodigy, being stronger than most mid tier captains, he even stalemated Espada 3 (goes to show how overrated the Espadas were, espeacially Ulquiorra)
Not to mention, he didn't even master his Bankai before the Espada showdown.
Yama is legit stated to be the strongest shini with non surpassing him for over 2000 years and that includes Division 0 as they came from the Gotei 13. Yama has never been surpassed. Also shown when no protagonist wanted to fight him head on and aimed to fight him after weakening him.

Nuff said. Shake the realm…when releasing…Yamas was destroying the realm…
None of the main protagonists wanted to take him head on.
If Kubo decides to kickstart the Hell arc and we get to meet the OG Gotei 13 and return of Unohana, that will be bonkers
When Yamamoto died, she was, even though for a short time, the strongest living shinigami.
I would say 3rd Shunsui In particular was definitely stronger than her
His banki versus hers would not be a contest And even before that his Power over children's games Would be too much for her to handle
And there's a few others I would put over her Remember she was only the best when it came to healing and swordsmanship and since a lot of individual's powers are not swordsmanship based
urahara would also defeat her easily as again his bankai perfectly counters all of her abilities
she might also struggle against shinji though she might also just instantly kill him before he can activate his ability
@@yami122 Shunsui was not stronger than her, what are even the implications for this..
@@leekwtf2 Yamamoto Straight up tells him and ukitake That they are the second strongest captains behind himself
Furthermore Shunsui took the title of head captain which is a title given to the strongest soul Reaper
if she was stronger than him she would not be his subordinate
Lastly although this point is more opinionated the final forms of their powers Shunsui is much more devastating
If you're an Anime only spoilers below
his play of death utterly trumps her acidic blood once he activates his play she cannot harm him without killing herself and she is going to get her head cut off
Note that a intangible being that can regenerate was unable to heal the wounds it was getting during the play until the play ended
@@leekwtf2 Shunsui was head captain While she was merely a captain that makes her his subordinate he was her boss by order of the chain of command just like how Yamamoto was her boss
And I'm sorry but her canceling his abilities Is just ridiculous zaraki put a sword through her neck in his base form
she is without a doubt weaker than the members of the Royal Guard Her bankai Certainly does not threaten existence itself simply by activating due to its power
And Shunsui Was able to use his power successfully on a member of the Quincy Royal Guard in its transformed state
Nothing she showed Suggest she has that much power She is definitely weaker than a Quincy Royal Guard member Who are stronger Then soul Reaper Royal Guards although even if one wants to say the soul Reaper Royal Guards are stronger than Quincy Royal Guards the equation is still the same that she's weaker than members of either of that group
Also note that Shinzi was able to endure the Power of Yamamoto Was able to stay alive and in the fight against him in a two versus one fight
as for head captains being the strongest well it's simple logic every rank of the soul reapers 13 court card squats has been based on strength you become a seated officer based on your strength you become a lieutenant by being stronger than any of the seated officers and you are a captain for being stronger than your lieutenant why would the head captain position be any different since every rank has you stronger than the ranks below it it's only natural to assume that the head captain is stronger than any other captain
and to back that up yamamoto stated that he is the head captain because he's the strongest he states it to wonderwiss
You're way overhyping her abilities she had one fight and died and nothing she showed in that fight was that impressive compared to what's going to be shown in the later story She's impressive for the point that she was shown in but a lot of characters get power boosts that end up surpassing her And those characters are still weaker than Shunsui

@@CaptainHavoc I absolutely will!
I always felt robbed about the excuse they used to kill her, having both her and zaraki fight against the quinci would have been amazing, it feels like the bankai stealing ability, a cool concept that went nowhere
Fr
Imo the bankai stealing was good. It really pressured the soul reapers
Your videos butter My biscuits thank you
I'm glad I could butter them! 😈
That was dramatic effect. It was to emphasize the battle
actually the heal effect dont came from her bankai, its kido, she mentioned this in the battle that she learned heal to heal the opponents and keep fighting (bc normally she kills everyone too easily), and if I remember, she was training the heal abilities with Tenjiro from 0 Division.

Im pretty sure she was given her title of Kenpachi BEFORE joining the Gotei 13 1000 years ago (or more), being apart of her being the most dangerous criminal.
That's a REALLY good theory
I definitely agree it could mean this!
Shunsui is literally the general for a reason.
Aizen states he was happy she didn’t fight him. Which probably would have happened if ivhigo had t stepped in
nice video keep up the great work
Thanks, will do! 😊

I still wished we actually got an explanation for her Bankai because that heavily changes her powerscaling honestly. Hopefully Hell Arc is a thing and she returns because she became one of the coolest Captains, only to die after. And is there a bigger down-grade than Unohana to Isane💩
Isane slander is not tolerated

@@-------....___ wtf
@@-------....___ This is a straight up lie.
Did anyone keep track of how many times they mispronounced "criminal"?
Brilliant, very in depth thoughts.
Great analysis man!
Very insightful! I agree with you mate.
She fears Yamamoto to a different degree? Where did you get that?
She doesnt fear yamamoto, yamamoto most likely got her to work with him because that way she’d find strong opponents often instead of senselessly wondering around looking for opponents
Youve got the wrong thinking about databook stats. Potential is and was never the implication otherwise neither toshiro or zaraki would have anything higher than a 50.
The 100s in the databooks is simply the highest the databook records. All the numbers r basically tiers. Characters who have a 100 in any tier basically means (100 or higher) since the databook just doesnt put anything higher than a 100 and its tge max it goes.
Comparing Kenpachi to the hulk was great
Bare in mine she went in to that fight with the plan to loose if she really went all out she wouldn't of lost she one of the strongest kido users aswel she didn't even use kido she just wanted to wake him up and die if she didn't have that plan in mind ain't noway kenpachi would beat her not a chance in hell she can heal herself as she fights use kido at top tier levels also her bankai as we seen is no joke on top of all that her sword skill are top tier
She killed him a lot in the fight. She's a beast
Absolutely 💯
Id say while unohana is underrated in terms of strength shes still underneath aizen (base) and yammamoto. Probably not as much as people think though. And in terms of swordplay she is probably the best
Pure skills but get power creep by many characters and got almost no hax
I agree with this. I left it up to interpretation in the video, but I truly still think she is still below yama and aizen
Idk if I’d say she’s below base Aizen. Of course with kyoka suigetsu, sure. But in a straight up sword fight I can’t imagine him winning.
@Purriah lower in overall power. Spiritual pressure mostly. Sword skill wise as I mentioned, she wins. But aizen wouldn't fight unohana just straight up.
@@prsuave420 agreed
She is vastly stronger than any captain other than limiter removed zaraki, yamamoto and base aizen.
Base Kenpachi with his eyepatch still on was not only able to cut off Gerard's arm, but was able to stop Gerard from stomping him and Toshiro before toppling him over. Byakuya would not be able to do anything to Kenpachi; and that "random" child Kenpachi was already stronger then most Captains we've seen.
@@JT-km6th I don’t think Byakuya is anywhere near bankai Toshiro or shikai Kenny. Bankai Byakuya literally got outperformed by a base Kenny with his eyepatch still on, mind you this form of Kenny is wayy weaker than just Unohana in her base form.
@@leekwtf2 you need to read the manga when Byakuya was in the fight vs Gerard and come back to edit your comment.
@@JT-km6th I already did, while he was able to blow the head of Gerard and save Rukia and Renji from final form Gerard, this wouldn’t hold to be consistent with his scaling at all since he had immense help against Gerard from Toshiro and was blatantly outperformed by a much weaker version of Kenny against an even weaker Gerard. You can’t really compare him to either of the two as Gerard never even worried about his presence in the slightest bit and casually swatted his bankai away.
If you have no rebuttal don’t speak to me thanks.

How hard is it to imagine for unahona being the very best pure sword technique fighter of her time till 11 year old zaraki at least showed up
Tbf, zaraki doesn't rlly have ANY technique with a sword. He was just stronger and faster than her to a huge degree.
Honestly I think Shunsui should be in the upper echelons of the Gotei 13 that is left now
My man fought a Genocidal Archangel without power ups
Big facts man! Shunsui essentially fought a god and there are so many implications and statements that Lille reached godhood. You'll see my opinion on this in a future video
We should have captain commander Unahana after Yamamoto died.
Would have been so interesting!
Central 46 would nvr allow that sadly since unohana was a renowned criminal it's as zaraki said all they would be is criminals if they weren't so powerful
No Shunsui is the best headcaptain
Secondly zaraki is looking at her whilst both are at a stand still, at first there is a white background behind both of them (implying about the figurative side of that battle) but what most over looks is that there’s a few moments when it cuts back to the actual battle and we see her being reduced with the steam, sizzling, and red background present (implying that was reality)
Lastly if you slow down the clip of him attacking her as he fades in and out of reality, you can see her blood blade as they the began to affect zaraki.

@@alicjaalvena1120 u sound so stupid she killed zaraki and healed him back to life isn't that reverse? Ion even know why I responded this comment is dumb lol
@@yngsamsung you have iq of a potato. she didnt kill zaraki, he lost consciousness from the blow. he was on verge of death, but she healed him before he passed away. and she did that with normal healing kidou, not bankai. the kidou we know is unable to return someone's lost limbs, etc.
treating normal, piercing wound is entirely different from turning someone into skeleton and then bringing back lost muscles and skin. are you seriously that dense to not understand the difference?
only orihime is capable of such traits. that's why unohana was unable to fix byakuya, his damage was too severe.
unohana's bankai blood steam is only shown to heal. like when we saw her torso wound healed from the steam, it was healing, NOT damaging her. and why would she even decide out of nowhere to use acid on herself during the fight?
god, im seriously tired of delusional people with 73 iq. i dont even know why im wasting time educating someone who lacks logical thinking. on top of that, you seriously should get checked, cause u see things that are not even there.
Im still mad they my wifu dead wrong using her to train zaraki if it wasn't a training session and a straight up dead battle unohana would've won easily
Honestly I felt like the fight was very poorly done in artificially done
there really wasn't even a good narrative reason to have the fight at all why would you throw away your medic your super skilled medic that can do things that no other medic can do and she's also one of the top 3 strongest fighters in your army
she is far more useful than zaraki ever becomes
And after she dies zaraki only goes on to win a single fight against a retard who killed himself anyways

Tho I get that there can only be one kenpachi, and to their pride as paradise they had to see who would be the current kenpachi. Tho honestly as an anime only, the fight needed to be better, like tf was that crap, it looked good, but was SO short.

I fw this heavy I still kinda think shunsui vs her is a toss up though
Thanks! Yeah im the same way 😭 I use to have him beating her and recently I had her beating him. But I think when shunsui gets his anime fight against Lille then I'm back to being team shunsui. Regardless he stomps her with his bankai for sure
i feel like shunsui is not to be screwed with, once he finally decides to do his job. and it's his job to keep kenpachi in check. some of these are coin tosses though.
I think yama and Aizen are are more powerful than her by quite a bit.
That's fair! I also have yama and aizen above her
He back after almost a year wothout uploading

Maybe the most Bloodthirsty but Yamamato would wash her
I agree. I let it up for interpretation for people, but I still have yama and aizen beating her
Yama is Yama. Can't beat that. But she does have the best swordmanship.
In a battle with only sealed Zanpakuto she might he able to take him.
@@Dragonpuncher123 she might but remember when Aizen sealed Yamamato’s Zanpaktu what happened, but also we can say the outcome is known because that old man is ridiculous too

Best laugh ever!
@CaptainHavoc where is it from?
I think "kenpachi" title just related to the division, since the job of 11th division itself is a direct combat.
Can you tell me which chapter of manga or novel stated it ?
wait a very cool spiritual pressure diversion was when gin diverted momos kido fireball. that’s actually my all time fav moment in bleach
Yeah I think Yoruiche could be one too, it would be great if they were actually 7
But unohana probably was not a war threat for the same reason that Yama, she got soft in the present
Oh wow I never thought about yammy's dog 😭 Good theory
This is explained way back in the soul society arc. The kenpachi title refers to the strongest shinigami in a generation it does not mean that they are currently the strongest shinigami.
Kyoraku & Ukutake are scared of Unohana in the current Bleach time. That should say enough.
No, the title of strongest can't be given to a character because another character says they're nervous around them@@GSnugg
