Thank you for getting back to the older style of videos. This is soooo much more relatable. Big projects are neat every once in a while, but not as a main thing for FT. Keep it real for everyone.
I love the old style build projects. It is great that you reinstated this on your channel! As for your all terrain flerken - you may want to add a forward step on your pontoons this will allow you to reduce your ground / water contact as you speed up during takeoff
Being a 4 season flyer like yourself. A white plane on the white snow in the white sky is a good way to loose the ship. I had a white and gray plane and as soon as it went to where the snow was in the background POOF it disappeared. great job folks. Finley, I am giving my printer a break and bought 2 kits. nutball Been a fan from almost the start. Thank you for keeping me in the hobby.
It's amazing how you keep coming up with new types of models that are so unusual. This is another brilliant design mose people wouldn't even consider investing time, effort and items needed to get it past the design stage.
I am frankly, amazed that the Flerken is as stable as it is, since most aircraft with forward swept wings are very unstable and tend to need higher landing speeds when landing. But we are talking about a model, first-off plus it is ultra light as well, being made out of foam board, so this must mitigate most of the issues of the wings stalling. at lower speed, you guys have also added an upward slant to the wings as well and this also furthers the stability. It has been one of my favorite designs you guys have come up with and offer on your website. Thanks for sharing, as always. I love the original video format as well, that include more of the "hey, let's try THIS, and see how it flies?" type of thing, which make it easier for people who are amateurs and first getting into the hobby can get more confidence from than watching you make massive projects that most guys aren't going to attempt. I wish I had a group of friends like you guys, you're always a happy go lucky group that are almost always uber-pumped to either make a flying model or go and fly a model aircraft, but I have to say that my all-time favorite episodes were the ones that you just made a completely new design and are going out to test it for the first time, and you showed it to us regardless of it being a success or a failure, and the failure was just a motivation to assess what wasn't working and going back into the shop to change it into something else or modifying it and trying again. You guys are like kids with your enthusiasm and that is wholly and completely contagious! You have always been a positive source of motivation to get kids out of the house and from in front of the video games and into the back yard or the local field to fly a small, medium or even a large model. and for that you deserve recognition because being outside is much better than cooped up indoors rotting your mind away in front of video games. For all your efforts, to being the hobby to others, thank you so very much!
That was so cool. With the land/water/air capabilities, it makes me think about racing them - laps with areas that were land travel only, water travel only, air only... Once again, Way to go Ohio!
That Flirkin (too similar to Mirkin lol ) reminds me of the Klingon battle cruiser.... 😎 Every time I watch you guys I feel a sense of longing. Longing for my health back and to be involved in something like this. Working with you guys must be so satisfying....
Now add a bladed lip under the nose that in air-mode is snuggly fit to the nose and works as canards and lowers based on proximity and air-pressure to transform the vehicle into a ground-effect-pusher. The general design btw. is a lovely reminder of the WipeOut-games, well done.
Maybe it's not as cold down south where you are, but here, up north in the frozen tundra, we generally wear winter jackets in winter. Oh, and hats & gloves.
That's a very nice all-terrian Flerken! I'll second (or maybe third) the suggestion of just a _little_ bit more space between the prop tips and the top of the pontoons.
Reviewing stuff again?! Awesome. You’ll love that UMX Ultrix. Also, have Mike review the Flex RV8 10e. I loved the bigger one and have been eyeing the little one for a little while.
I think this may be my next FT plane build.looking forward to the release. I need a Flerken I can take off and land with. This is a thought as well, if you can take off the pontoons the how about making the landing gear swappable Wheels or pontoons. Just awesome!
Please try to replicate a fueling tanker of some type and get a magnet and do a air fuel challenge. Magnets on the receiving plane and the wire/rope that would be the fuel hose. That would be so sick. Love watching you guys. You can learn a lot about aerodynamics watching you all.
IF YOU'RE COLD. YOU DO REALIZE YOUR JACKET HAS A HOODIE RIGHT. YOUR FRIENDS SEEM TO KNOW HOW TO USE IT, AND THEY MAKE SOMETHING CALLED GLOVE'S ALSO. DON'T WORRY. I BRAIN FART TOO WHEN I HAVE A NEW TOY TO PLAY WITH. GREAT PROJECT, AND VIDEO. THANK YOU, AND NO PEOPLE. I'M NOT YELLING OR MAD. I ALWAY'S TEXT IN CAP'S.👍
Nice job on this and cool idea. You inspire with your ideas and willingness to try stuff. One idea fro improvement, what if you flip the screw direction and put it in from the top down into the pontoon. If the plate was already in the pontoon then you do not have to cut a hole in bottom of the pontoon and you can tighten screws from the top 😊😊.
So it would be possible to use the twin boom design with wheels fitted, and have a hole through for each screw that mounts the pontoon and also a cut out in the top to accommodate the wheels so you can just remove the pontoons and the wheels are already fitted.
How about on the "skies" you add a trailing edge 1/2mm up towards the front of the front forward edge like 2.5/3.00mm with a chamfered edge? Kinda like a seaplane "step"?
Your call for action/Help video needs to be placed on this YT channel as it has over 2+ million subs and the FTCA YT channel has less on it. Please place your call for help also on this channel so it will reach MORE of your subscribers/partners/members .
Saludos al equipo de trabajo. Me gustaría poder fabricar el aeromodelo como mismo fabriqué el ala delta y otros modelos de los que publicaron los planos.
Now there's an interesting thought... I see Flirkin, think Mirkin.. 😅 and further then wonder how a hairy aircraft might fare... Or even a feathered aircraft...
Don't get me wrong, you guys do great stuff, but it's a pity this 1 is only a model - it would be so cool to see a full scale 1 of these, with a jet engine, rarher than props. When writing this I thought to do a quick search to see if you had based it on a real aircraft, but the only search results I got were from your site & YT vids related to your products.

Actually it is an old idea in a new jacket. Search for hydrofoam. 👍
The SeaDuck is so much fun in the snow with differential thrust!
Another FT winner!! Josh’s child-like enthusiasm is so addictive. The ❤ of FliteTest 👍
Yeah.... What I could have done with a dad like that.... I'd have been an unstoppable force of nature...

@FliteTest7638 scammer alert!
Now I have to build one, I used to love to do inverted flatspins with my 82in Extra 300L and hit the smoke button. Thanks for the video
I love the old school FT feel!! Keep it up please!
Outstanding!! Keep up the awesome work FT Crew!!
That was so cool. With the land/water/air capabilities, it makes me think about racing them - laps with areas that were land travel only, water travel only, air only... Once again, Way to go Ohio!
That would be cool to see! Now you have to come up with a name for doing a triathlon in a plane.
Awesome! Now make a Wright Flyer PLEASE!!! A BIG ONE!
Great plane design. If you can, raise the engines a smidge. It sounds like a propeller hits an obstacle before the pontoon lifts the frame clear.
You can count on it. :)
That's a cool-looking plane it also seems to fly nice too. Good job!

This is great!! I've been waiting for this version of the Flerken. I will be purchasing the final rendition. AirHammer out!!
You guys are out of your Flerken minds! Nice
This style video is what attracted so many...
Love seeing the older style of videos!!!
Love love love it! Thanks for the video! Can't wait for it to warm up so I can fly my Flerken!
The Flerken is friggin awesome!

It's a WIGE that can fly too. Thats neat.
just so you guys know, the only RC thing I own is a PS4 controller. I love watching what you guys put out. Its not even the RC. Its the creations.
Thanks for being part of the family brother! :-)
Great job guys. I'm looking forward to even more content!!!
Nice one josh and flight test team another Flirken flies the skies such a smart little airframe nice one crack on
Great video Josh and a real nice looking plane too. Twin tractor Flerken on floats is the best looking Flerken yet!
Looks like a good addition to the line up.
Orange, or other bold markings. Some checkers would be cool!
Maybe it's not as cold down south where you are, but here, up north in the frozen tundra, we generally wear winter jackets in winter. Oh, and hats & gloves.
That thing is so flerken cool!!
For the first 2:11 of the video, I thought you were hammered. Then I realized that my playback speed was 0.75. Great project!
Good idea Josh, this will be fun.
Yes! More model flyers plz!
Excellent you guys got snow it’s 55° in Illinois
forward swept wings just make me happy
Flerken 'ell, that looks cool as flerk!
That's a very nice all-terrian Flerken! I'll second (or maybe third) the suggestion of just a _little_ bit more space between the prop tips and the top of the pontoons.
It's cool model. And cool video.
Reviewing stuff again?! Awesome. You’ll love that UMX Ultrix. Also, have Mike review the Flex RV8 10e. I loved the bigger one and have been eyeing the little one for a little while.
ohio is having some crazy weather. the day this video was posted, while you had inches of snow in the north, in columbus, it was 70 defgrees!
Awesome mash up.
Gotta try this one!

This makes me want to build one of these!
Great camouflage!
As always a wonderful show guys keep up the excellent work I’ll be watching till the end let’s just hope that’s no time soon.
I built my first Flerken a few weeks back.
Please try to replicate a fueling tanker of some type and get a magnet and do a air fuel challenge. Magnets on the receiving plane and the wire/rope that would be the fuel hose. That would be so sick. Love watching you guys. You can learn a lot about aerodynamics watching you all.
Definitely will be building this!
Absolutely fantastic!

love the old style video
I'm 75 miles away in PA. Haven't seen snow since December.
Nice video. Need more vert stab when you add floats? Tip stall on landing sounds like a challenge.

That is an awesome design!
Planning on getting your 60 inch c47 think it’s worth? I already have your p47. Also CANT WAIT FOR flight fest this year!
the hobby is now over in Canada
Oh hell I think I need one of these now. :)
My kind of fun!♥
@flitetest You guys need to put the FTCA videos here on the main channel!
Flirken awesome vid dudes
Nice vid
Jokes on you, that's not snow in Ohio. That's 'nuclear fallout' from the rail derailment(s). 🌨☠
🤣🤣🤣
If anyone asks I had nothing to do with it
yeaaaa, geography says no lol. the train was south east of where they are located. prevailing winds pushed all that crap into Pennsylvania
@@cinnamontoastcrunch4731 hmmmm thats suspicious
@@jonathanbates9928 meant to be a joke lmao
LOVIT!!!
Very cool plane 👍👍
I don't know of that it's all terrain but it is really good.

I really hope the ATF will be a free plan or the plans being available to be purchased from the store.
Very nice!

Awesome thumbnial 🫣😜
Cool !!
damn the Flerkin i never expected 💀
You should mount the nacells and props above the wing

What a recovery 😅
7:10
NICE!
That is awsome.
Excellent
how much step is in your floats , maybe change the angle after the step to allow the nose to rise easier
I wonder if this Flerken design would work scaled to a size that would accept passengers / cargo
It’s a good idea to paint it a colour other than white when you are flying it in snow isn’t it?
Would you ever sell the cad models? I'd love to try a 3d printed version out of LW-PLA.
Is the ATF going to be made into a kit, if so i want that 1 as my first
Saludos al equipo de trabajo. Me gustaría poder fabricar el aeromodelo como mismo fabriqué el ala delta y otros modelos de los que publicaron los planos.
Can i run 2 1400kv motors on 1 2s 2200mah lipo?
Making the guinea pig but a lil more affordable
How much would that need to be scaled up to carry four to six people?
It feels so illegal to be here so early 😂😂😂
Same
Now there's an interesting thought... I see Flirkin, think Mirkin.. 😅 and further then wonder how a hairy aircraft might fare... Or even a feathered aircraft...
Super😍😍😍
I wonder if you can successfully build one of these in ksp2
Put a spring on the front mount of the pontoon...?
All the servos in the FT power Pack F Radial v2 died what do I do before I could even fly?
Ok, I want to build my Flerken as an A.T.F. Do you have plans for the pontoons ?
Warning, this is a scammer pretending to be Josh Bixler
How do you design your projects?
Where does the final version fall in as far as the FAA's 1/4 Kilograms lower limit and if that is raised to 1 Kilogram (2.2lbs)?
It’s under 1Kg. :)
@@joshbixler1261 What would anyone owning one need to do to be able to continue to fly that model aircraft if the1/4 kilo rule takes effect?😮💨
the flerken dive
You should make the O'Neal class ship By the Asgard from stargate SG1, And the F302 And also A few wraith darts from stargate Atlantis
