    Griffin’s lever arms also do the side to side articulation as well from the factory.

      They’re quite heavy though and at least based on video, I strongly suspect these swing a little more smoothly than the Griffins, but yah, for the price, the Griffin’s are pretty well featured. I sold mine to get two GOATs though, lol.

    • @TheKurtlocker
      @TheKurtlocker  7 месяцев назад

      I hope two goats works well for you. I just don’t like the idea of such a short arm…unless gym pin came out with a kaizen adapter for the GOAT arm…

      @djbakasan 7 месяцев назад

      @@TheKurtlockerI’m contemplating mimicking something I saw on the GGR Facebook group where they had two GOATs and a set of lever arms and basically hot swapped them using a 1” bolt and a knurled knob. For a lot of movements I don’t mind the short arms one bit, and I love the convenience of easy on/off w/ the GOATs as I have an integrated cable system, so keeping levers on permanently isn’t an option. The times where I do want a longer arm, it’d be as simple as swapping a single bolt out and moving in the arm. Haven’t fully committed to the idea yet but felt dumb for not having thought of it before.

    As usual, excellent content, excellent review. AD was the first one to state a few years ago that the pin should not be on the side but the front (I think I've heard it in your alpha dogs tour).
    When I made my own lever arms (made out of 3x3 tubing) I've did the same with mine and they are right.
    Another very important thing, if the arms are suspended at like 90 degrees or so, with rotating lever arms and side weight horns... This thing will just swing to your face...
    When I built mine (it was before everybody went banana about 180 degrees things) I've learned it the hard way 😅 (it was just a 10lbs... But still)
    As for now, this is probably the best lever arms on the market IMO.
    The eyebolt is a nice addition! I was already using something similar with a truck lifting strap for mine.
    What I would like to see in the future would be lever arms integrated into pulley system. That would be very expensive though... I think the primitive rotational that offer a very limited time under tension* of the movements (that is the Achilles heel of this) would be eliminated... It's not that hard to do... But very complex to make, manufacture and sell for the home gym. Probably much more than what homegymers are ready to pay.
    However, that would close the gap between the dedicated commercial units and the home gym stuff (even if the lever arms have a good place in the collegiate gyms!).
    *There's nothing that a band can't solve but I dream of a lever arms setup that I just place the arm, move a pin and start working out!

      Seeing a lever arm with integral resistance offered from a stack would an engineering challenge that I’d love to see. It sounds like you’re a handy person. Making your own lever arms is awesome

    I laugh because I mentioned a rack just for these a couple days ago in a comment...you tossed this together just for me...I’m verklempt! 🥰🥰

    Very cool review I never knew these existed. I’ve got the Crandall fitness ones and am a fan. That different handle you use looks pretty cool. Where did you get it? Or do you have an affiliate link for it? That smaller handle looks like a great alternative for certain movements when you don’t want the big bulky handles.

      You can take the rollers apart but it’s just a little tricky getting the washers lined up. It’s possible though, I did it on my one alpha arm

    I wonder if I can add longer arms to my goat arm to do pressing movements, at least 34inches to get better range of motion? Thinking about getting another one. It looks like I could since I just need to remove the bolt in the center of the brackets. I like the goat better due to the brackets and also the fact that they are easy to remove.

    • @TheKurtlocker
      @TheKurtlocker  Месяц назад

      I socialized doing that but SD was apprehensive due to undue stress on the lever arm. They think the lever arm would fail. I strongly disagree but is what it is bro

    Having the Vendetta attachment is huge. Someone would be better off buying from another company and adding them to their stray dog rack along with the vendetta attachment.

      @@TheKurtlocker it would increase the price, but I don’t know if any jammer arm is worth the money if you cannot adjust the angle of the start of the movement. They make an “ok” item and transform them into something really useful. If straydog didn’t want to do it I think the second best option would be to try to get a Rogue trolley system with the short arms, buy the Vendetta attachment, maybe the Kaizen adapters, and have all of it on a straydog rack. It would be a little “Frankensteinish” but it would be better, awesome, and badass :)

      @meisdetermined I can set it up pretty close to exactly what I need using the Henny straps as well. Something to keep in mind. It’s about 2 steps more complicated, but I could also just fashion a new set of pin starters on my own

    Im not sold on the articulating factor of the lever arms, in my opinion they are somewhat gimmicky (Is that a word?). I Just don't see that much resistance when doing certain movements. I have the Rep Lever Arms as well the Ares Functional trainer, so I get a lot of variety in certain lifts, you just have to be very creative. I purchased the Vendetta Strength Kit, as well the Mutant metal custom handles and I get a great workout. I have a special log book that I write out all the numbers on my power rack so if I am doing shoulder press I know exactly where to adjust and place everything. I have approximately 25-30 different body parts and exercise written down. (It saves so much time). I alway's set up my gym for my workout the day before and it goes by very smoothly. I come from a background of very competitive bodybuilding, so I do more workouts geared towards Hypertrophy training instead of Powerlifting, Strength Training, Strong man, etc. like yourself so I find these Lever Arms are similar to Hammer Strength training if you set up your equipment effectively.
    Speaking of Straydog, I really like their brand very much and I just purchased their new Leg Extension/Hamstring machine, as well the fully loaded Incline Bench. I spent months speaking with Jake and he let me know that the new Leg Curl Machine was going to be coming out in January so I waited patiently. I was going to go with Sorinex, however they would charge me $2,400 shipping to the west coast which I find ridiculous. Anyway's, I used your code and I saved $580 for the products (thank you) as well shipping was only $550. So, now I just have to wait patiently for around 6- 8 weeks for delivery! LOL. I just found those attachments you attach to your power rack such as the Titan Fitness, or Bullet Proof, Bells of Steel, The Goat, etc. I just don't think the range of motion is compatible for my needs, but obviously the other ones are much more budget friendly, and also having a garage gym, or basement gym you don't have the room or sq footage to have a whole Leg Extension/Hamstring Curl machine. I just find squatting really hurts my knees now (getting old) so I only use my commercial gym for legs using the Leg Press, Hack Squat or Smith machine. So, now at least I will have a leg cur machine if I am too lazy to drive to my gym for leg day! LOL. You can't skip leg day. LOl
    Anyway's, I will let you know how the machine works when it arrives and I have spent a few weeks using it. BTW Jake is a really good dude, alway's answers my emails and or phone calls and is very professional. They have a good team over at Stray dog and that is why I purchased a lot of stuff from them. I

    Theya are very nice but too bad they don't have the same concept like the goat or vendetaa:(
    Do u think getting two goats will be good for pressing exercises or they will be too short? I wonder if the goat arms can be converted to make them swivel too

    • @TheKurtlocker
      @TheKurtlocker  7 месяцев назад +1

      They would work, but the arc is pretty short causing a not very straight path

      The reason we do not have the abilty to pin the tube in and lift off of is the longer tube when dropped onto the pin will bend or break over time and we do not want to make items that will have easy break points.

      I would not. They are very different. The goat is a isolation exercise emulator where the arms are primarily for building athleticism and replicating isolation exercises that the GOAT just can’t

      Good review, if your looking to buy lever arms don’t, I bought the rogue ones and it’s the worst gym investment I’ve made, Like Kurt said you need to spend more to get the best of them and even then I found they get in the way and just take up space on my 6 post rack, if you don’t have the vendetta adapters it’s a hassle having to adjust the lever arms to the desired, position, it takes time to have everything set and when your on the go little pauses like that ruin a workout, if you want my opinion invest on a good barbell and definitely dumbbells

      I can’t fault you man and I’m sorry to hear about the difficulty. I’ve had two different types of lever arms and enjoy having them. I really just want StrayDog to let the arms get sold without the handles. Drop the price so folks can get the handles that are best for them
