Rock salt shells also have a lighter powder load (amount of gunpowder) so it's just strong enough for the rock salt to penetrate the skin, otherwise it would still be lethal. Back in the day you had to hand load them, but nowadays you can buy them too.
Texas Funeral, . . Tarantino is a GENIUS.
I don't think I've ever noticed this being brought up, but Beatrix and Elle are very different fighters. The Black Mamba, as you already know, is Beatrix and is highly venomous. The California Mountain Kingsnake has no venom, and throughout the series you see that Elle has killed many people using poison, because figuratively, she has none of her own. She is also a very underhanded and deceitful person, almost injecting B, taking credit for Budd's capture of B, and poisoning Pai Mei. This sets her apart again from B, as she only used a cheap technique once when fighting Pai Mei, trying to bash him with a rock when his back was turned. He of course caught it and punished her for it, as he has a very strict code of honor. He doesn't teach his students to be sneaky and "dirty" fighters. However, Elle is one of those, and that's how he died.
Honestly I didn’t even think about her code name and how it applies to her personality probably because, she was the least interesting to me lol but it makes sense she was going to kill B in her sleep if bill didn’t stop her.
I doubt it was the bones. They tend to get tougher with this kind of training, though I suspect there might have been some microfractures at this stage. No, it's the nerves. You see I know how this technique (Iron Palm, Iron Fist, both train similar) works in Karate and Kungfu and it consists of two stages: 1) Toughen the bones 2) Destroy/deaden nerves. Right now her nerves are being permanently damaged. In exchange for tougher bones and hence, yes, more powerful punches the tradeoff is you deaden part of your hand to ANY sensation - permanently.
Pregnant Beatrix and the other assassin: Beatrix was spotted as she wanted to kill her target, so the assassin was about to kill her. But when Beatrix found out she is pregnant, she wanted to abort the mission and go home, thus not kill the target. In this case the other assassin does not need to kill Beatrix as she stops being a threat.
I remember how people were confused at first whenever The Bride's name was bleeped out. This made Elle Driver's big reveal more powerful - another sign of Tarantino's genius . . .
Vol. 2 Honestly even though it was a longer movie than the first movie, I still enjoyed it and it was pretty dope like the plot became more interesting and even though there was NOT so MUCH blood like from the previous movie, it was still cool and entertaining to watch.
Fun note: The guy that told kiddo where Bill was is Michael Parks...Back in the 70`s here in America he had a TV show called " Then Came Bronson "...A pretty good show....Also I liked Kill Bill: Vol. 2 the best.
Both films are about Pai Mei and his student Biatrix. Everyone wonders why she's so cool. And she learned EVERYTHING from Pai Mei. Jumping up against the katan of enemies, breaking out of the coffin, dodging the swords of enemies, tearing out her eyes and BEHAVING WITH DIGNITY (the scene where Pai Mei forced her to eat with chopsticks, and where she politely asks for a glass of water after coming out of the coffin is HER DIGNITY! - studied with Pai Mei)
Vol.2 is a much better film then Vol.1 imo. The final act, when it's just Beatrix and Bill talking, is fantastic. Great performances from David Carradine and Uma Thurman. After the final confrontation, I think she really did love Bill. The way she looks at him when he stands up ("You look...ready"), it's filled with love and sadness to me. And Bill really did love her too. They're both killers and both made bad decisions, and this is why it ended how it did.
Agree 100%. First of all, the second film gives you both Pai Mei (played by Chia-Hui Liu, who also played Johnny Mo, the bald guy who was head of the Crazy 88), as well as Hattori Hanzo. These two characters were amazing. But when you add the last 15 minutes of dialogue with Bill (David Carradine), the film becomes a masterpiece.
I interpreted it as Beatrix persuading the other female assassin that, because she just realized she's pregnant: 1) she's not going to kill her intended target (who the other assassin is protecting?) 2) because she's going to be a mother, she may be at her peak motivation to not die making her very difficult to kill, and the other assassin also being a woman would implicitly understand this.
Others have pointed it out, but it bears repeating. All the members of Bill's team are multi-skilled, but they all have preferences. Vernita liked knives, O-Ren was good with swords and guns, Bud uses a shotgun, and Beatrix is good at hand-to-hand combat. Elle is the only one whose preferred weapon is poison.
You're missing the story being told of the moment between Beatrix and the other assassin. With her "congratulations", it's telling the story of motherhood and what that means to women and how it changes them. How women bond over pregnancy and children.
@@tomoko7584 I'm explaining the context of the story being told that they missed. Making it man vs woman is beyond intellectually lazy and dishonest. Cheers.
Lisa Wong was only trying to kill Beatrix because Beatrix was coming to assassinate her. When Beatrix told her she was pregnant and was not interested in assassinating her any more, she was happy to just leave and go home.
Great reaction! I'm sure people have said Viki looks like the beautiful movie star, Natalie Wood. You might consider reacting to, "Brainstorm" one of her later movies, or "Sex and the Single Girl" one of my favorites from the 1960s.
After watching this and the last reaction,I will say one thing about VIcki compared to Michelle is that even though Michelle thinks she is more aware and knows what's going on in the movie and maybe it's because she is better with the English language, Vicki is absolutely more observant and aware about things that Michelle gets wrong, like not knowing who Bud was or thinking he was Bill and how Bea couldn't use the chopsticks properly and there were a few others, I mean I know they are just voicing their opinions but it seems that Michelle acts so confident and Vicki sometimes second guesses herself because of it even though she is totally right! Just something for Michelle to think about in the future!
What you've got to remember is Beatrix's code name was "Black Mamba", Budd was killed by a black mamba and the same black mamba is still in the caravan with eyeless Elle Driver. So in a strange way the whole Squad was killed by a BLACK MAMBA!
Look up how Bill's actor David Carradine died in real life. He got his start on American TV playing a Shaolin Monk on a show titled Kung Fu. It was set in the late 1800's The series follows the adventures of Kwai Chang Caine as he travels through the American Old West, using his spiritual training and his skill in martial arts to help people in need. In the show he is fleeing bounty hunters because he has a Chinese bounty on his head.
34:30 In this movie the female codes are very respected. One is this moment. She allowed Beatrix to be mother, and congratulate her for that. Other is the irrepressible desire to gossip... even in an live or death moment.... 23:36
Volume 2 is by far the better of the two. The story is given more time to "Breathe" and you truly feel like you're with Beatrix on her journey. Some trivia regarding the character Pai Mei: He is based on Pak Mei, the originator of the "White Eyebrow" kung fu technique. According to legend, Pak Mei was one of the few Masters left following the decimation of the Buddhist temples. He later sold out other Masters to save his team and himself during an attack that they had mounted that subsequently went wrong. For this reason, Pak Mei Kung Fu has always been known as the "forbidden technique", and Pak Mei has been a villainous figure in Chinese folklore and film, for hundreds of years. Also, his three-inch punch is a reference to Bruce Lee's three-inch knock-out punch.
Uma Thurman crashed and got injured during one of the wide shots of her driving a car. Supposedly she had a beef with Tarantino after that and blamed him for unsafe practices.
As despicable as Bill was,he was willing to allow Beatrix to have her revenge, although he would not die willingly. Beatrix also knew this, which was why she removed her necklace and put it on Bebe's picture of her (in case she didn't survive). Bill was willing to go out like a warrior, but only after he got the answers he sought.
Strange circumstances that David Carradine was found hanging in the closet of his Bangkok hotel suite on June 4 and his family hired New York-based forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden to conduct a follow-up death investigation to the one handled by Thai authorities. “The cause of death was asphyxiation, an inability to breathe, now why that happened Authorities in Thailand conducted the first autopsy on Carradine shortly after his death, . A Thai police colonel told Reuters early in the probe the likely cause of death was asphyxiation. Baden, the host of cable channel HBO’s “Autopsy” series, also said the ligatures, or ties that bind, which were on Carradine’s body at the time of his death helped Baden, who oversaw a second autopsy in the United States after Carradine’s body was flown to Los Angeles from Bangkok, said he is awaiting more information from Thai police to rule out the possibility that Carradine was killed by someone. The forensic pathologist said he is not disappointed with how long it has taken Thai authorities to send him material for his death investigation. “It takes time to finish a case sometimes, so it’s not unexpected,” he said.
Finally someone else who understands. People say he died from accidental suicide, but there are so many things that don't add up there. How the chair he was standing on was found a distance away and the rope marks on his arms.
I'm sure someone else has said this but, Bud shot here with rock salt. It hurts like hell but it only penetrates the skin. Especially on the chest. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
At 33:40 they don't kill each other becase Beatrix Kiddo is most probably number 1 killer in the world, , she also has a reference with Oakley, the best woman shooter of all times, so "Karen" has respect for her
For those saying that vol 2 is better than vol 1: Considering Tarantino intended them to be as one film, I think it would be more accurate to say that the journey gets progressively better as it goes along.
I think Bud must have gotten tired of being an assassin and just quit, they said he hadn't spoken to his brother in a long time, they probably had an argument about it.
Everybody is saying which movie is better when in reality it’s still one movie just split into two parts, it’s just picking back up keep in mind it was suppose to just be one movie but obviously it’s long as shit. 😂 I love both I do see why so many love the first I’m a big fan of the exaggerated blood and action but the training scenes we get with her and Pai Mei is so good I love how he insults her but is obviously dropping knowledge, his dramatic flip of his beard, and teaching her the move he didn’t even show bill, the trailer scene was badass 👏🏾👏🏾 then of course the climax of her seeing her daughter and bill.
This is the 2nd time your seeing this asian actor/martial artist. Gordon Liu was the leader of Oren-oshi's Japanese Yakuza swordsmen(some were female yes). Anyway he was bald (his normal appearance) and fighting Beaxtrix on a railing on the second floor, 15-20ft drop maybe. In this movie however, Gordon Liu is playing a role that he sometimes would be in direct opposition to. In the Kung-Fu movies he starred in and became famous for the world over.

Bill was not killed by Beatrix, as the end credits testify, the legend of five heartbreaking touches is just a legend, Beatrix forgave Bill and Bill let his favorite girls go. Beatrix, after killing the second victim in front of her daughter, never killed anyone.
Hi, i can recommend to you a french movie that is by my taste on the top 10 of french movie it's called: Intouchable ( 2011 ). prefer it to watch in french with subtitle to get the emotions in the voice. ^^
Trivia: the "one inch punch" that she uses to escape the coffin isn't actually possible, although it is possible in the training with Pat Mai. People only tend to see the end point (the punch), they don't see the underlying movement. The power starts with the heel, pushing up through the torso, and out through the fist. Inside the coffin, all she has is the punch.
For me Kill Bill is definitely above From Dusk til Dawn in several aspects. 😉 But ofc FDtD is still a fun watch too. Anyway, enjoyed your reaction on Vol 1 and 2! 😁
Nah, she wasn't wearing a vest. The cartridges were loaded with rock salt instead of lead. It doesn't have enough mass to penetrate deep. Just enough to break the skin. And at that range, the crystals would lodge in the subcutaneous fat. It's the wound and the salt in the wound, all in one. It's not lethal, but it's extremely painful. The crystals are too light to go through bone. Even a headshot wouldn't be fatal at that range. But most likely you'd be permanently blinded. He seemed to want her to suffer. Or maybe it's the only non-lethal weapon he had. I guess he wanted to shoot tresspassers, but didn't want to kill anyone. I wonder if there's a deleted scene that explains why a former assassin would have rock salt cartridges for home defense, and would let his boss talk to him that way....
Since you liked David Carradine in Kill Bill, try watching Southern Comfort, starring kill bill's son, Keith Carradine. It's not as bloody as Kill Bill, but a non-Tarantino film usually isn't, so . . 😊
Actually it's hard to say what Kill Bill was better. Because it' really is just one whole movie split into two. It was originally supposed to be released as one movie. But because of the running time being about 4 hrs 30 min Quinton Tarantino, decided to split it into Vol 1&2
Hey, I have a movie request for you guys to react to. "Of mice and men" It's a 1992 film with John Malkovich. I think you guys will really like it. Please do a review on this movie. I'm a subscriber, I love your reactions. Keep up the good work!!
Girls, I absolutely adore you, subscribe to you, and appreciate your reactions. With that said, I’d like to suggest and request something for consideration. For me, personally, it is absolutely jarring to share a film with someone that constantly speaks over film dialogue. Especially the legendary dialogue of a script written by a Tarantino. You miss gems, nuance, and important information. Remember that you are mostly catering to people who have already seen these films and, although we are looking for your reaction, we also are intently watching and listening with you. I love the reactions in your facial expressions, body language, and even what you say, but I would be more tactful with what you say, how much you say, and when you say it. For example, wait for a moment where there is no dialogue to say something. Or pause the film. You also do not have to say every single thing you are thinking or wondering. Remember that your own dialogue can be disruptive and unnecessary. Love you girls and keep up the good work! :)
Bill's stance on Superman is a bit off, imo. Clark Kent is not Superman's critique of the human race. He represents Superman's disres tob be a part of the human race. He was brought to Earth by the hand of fate, the unavoidable, and his arrival was like a gift from the heavans. Superman is a god for all intents and purposes, but despite his divinity, he still yearns to be one of us.

That'll be why it's a movie and not a documentary then. 🙄
Lol it’s a movie half the stuff she does no human can honestly do 😂😂
For me Kill Bill is definitely above From Dusk til Dawn in several aspects. 😉
But ofc FDtD is still a fun watch too.
Anyway, enjoyed your reaction on Vol 1 and 2! 😁
I'm attending Pai Mei's summer camp soon.. gonna learn that eagle claw

1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Goosebumps 1&2
Great reaction to this second chapter ladies
Since you liked David Carradine in Kill Bill, try watching Southern Comfort, starring kill bill's son, Keith Carradine.
It's not as bloody as Kill Bill, but a non-Tarantino film usually isn't, so . . 😊
His brother actually.
"Buried" (2010) Ryan Reynolds is buried alive. Will he escape? Very good film.
Imagine being in the coffin and your batteries dies and then you release the longest fart ... right after eating tacos. Not a great way to go.
Great reaction ladies 😍
Bruh, it was so obvious that her hand was mangled from all the punching, not that she just didn't know how to use chopsticks 🙄
You guys even started training 😂😂
@34 minutes, its not strange, if kiddo is giving up on the assassination theres no reason to risk her life trying to kill her.
Oliver Stone directed NBK not Tarantino.
Million for a sword..IT can be mooore
The movie was very intense and entertaining as well but in the minute 28:54 Michelle’s face 😅😅😂 but the rest was very good
The coffin scene puts a chill in my spine every time I watch it. Pure Panic!!! Even though I know she gets out.
It's because Uma Thurman is claustrophobic . Her panic is legit.
Stay 2005 Maybe next? its amazing psychological movie with Ryan Gosling in it I just watched it and im in in shock
Perfect reaction to this sequel
Y'all couldn't punch your way out of a box of cereal lol. I still watch y'all though.
Pai mei Is the star of this volume
You 2 could use the Pai Mei "beard swing", just use your long hair to do it 👍
Time for Jackie Brown and Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood
I also suggest Death Proof, a very underestimated movie.
Excellent choice!😁
The best love story movie ever made 😢
You will love Death Proof.
I used to watch your guys’ reactions a couple years ago, I fell off haha you girls are even prettier than before somehow. I thought I was subbed 😅
this was nice but my favourite is always Pulp Fiction of Tarantino, no way.
Oliver Stone did "Natural Born Killers" not Quinton Tarantino.
Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay.
Vikki ❤❤❤
❤❤🌹Vicki🌹❤❤
i have always thought, even though she killed him, she still loved him
The epitome of a dysfunctional relationship.
find a girl who loves you like pai mai loves his beard
I think you two would make great assassins .
18:58 one million $ is quite liittle, it fits in small briefcase
True, but it's heavier than films and T.V. would have you expect: about 22 pounds (excluding the weight of the case).
I hope you finish watching the third American Pie, don't do like Magy who starts one and doesn't continue with the others
Bill comes from a different background than you and me, so his outlook is, unsurprisingly, also different.
