One of minor correction in this video. Positive reinforcement is the addition of a stimuli that may reinforce behavior. Negative reinforcement is the removal of a stimuli that may reinforce behavior.
It may appear that way but to me it appears as conditioning people, on the one hand the student and as much the educator too, to be more effective and productive in what they love doing.
So if you put your hand on a hot stove and it burns you you’re being programmed? No. It’s a stimuli that causes pain and your body reacts and pulls away automatically bc it has a need meet (to protect itself) and thus responds. That’s also a part of behavior and behaviorism. Bc now you’ll avoid the stove areas that are hot - due to the punisher (pain).
Another problem with this guy's theory is that rewards and penalties those are not always tangible or observable or manifest. BF Skinner underestimates man's fear of consequence, which is the way Nietzsche talks about how the Barbarian is always afraid of some overwhelming Doom
How the hell is this guy going to disregard internal mental events but on the other hand say that he's interested in the causality of action? This is flabbergastery.
The characterisation of "the environment" in this representation is skewed, as if we are talking about something unnatural og stylized. That is a gross misrepresentation of the simple ways in which behavior can be changed, as explained much more elegantly and precise by Burrhus Frederic Skinner. In this case I think something could be gained by some more reading on the topic.
