This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for, Arith. I can't thank you enough! I have been dabbling with a few other bands on spotify to build the mood as I enter the right head space as I get ready to open myself up to the natural world. Dear Arith - thankyou so much for shareing this gift, you are glowing with the life of it , and i am so grateful for you sharing this. I just gave away my 4 track recorder about a month ago -I have been so stressed and depressed and i was going to start selling my drums. I wont do that now. Thankyou. When i first heard the one you wrote about the trickster fox, i went hunting for some CDs and files that i had recorded 19 years ago with two of my friends. Most of it i did my self -invented vocal sounds, and throat percussions that described paintings and poems i had done about how i felt about people and nature and the conflicts. Until i found you on your channel i didn't know about 'animism' Your throat singing is fantastic I hadn't much experience at that then but I did what i called vocal body percussion. I like how you describe Var Umn - it fits in the feeling i had about the energy of that sound, and the feeling of doing breath work for healing songs.. Once again , I am happy for you and feel so fortunate you have shared this.

Being alone is not so bad if you can get out of the house - The weather is so weird, and the winds have been too high to ride and visit my foxes. I tend to slide across the borders, like tonight visiting with a friend and then she said, Be careful what you say, some here don't know where they are yet. i had been just sitting and meditating to give my mind a rest. I have played many kinds of music with "found instruments" like John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and other lesser known composers. The 20th century was a time of experimentation with this kind of things. I did all that in university. Performing , learning and even composing some myself. But not to your level. It was an eye opening experience. I hope you will be enlightened more and refine your work through time and experience. ❤

Hello friend! There's still quite a few people that play the bagpipes here, but not a lot of bagpipes makers, sadly. Well, I know a few portuguese bands that play the instrument. Theres Galandum Galundaina, they specifically play Mirandese (Mirandês) traditional music; Mandrágora is a folk band from Porto; there were the Dazkarieh, but I don't think they are active now. I suggest, if you can, contact APEDGF (Associação Portuguesa para o Estudo e Divulgação da Gaita de fole) to see if they can arrange something. This throat singing, isnt that bad for the vocalchords? The sound reminds me of a tigers chant, sometimes called bone grinding, goes deep into the flesh and spirit. But what is music if not sound that moves us. Very interesting project, you seem to be flourishing😊Thanks for sharing and for explaining the creative process❤

Interesting Arith! Might I suggest contacting the groups Danheim or Wardruna and share your music? Sounds exactly like what they produce. Maybe you can get some collaboration to improve your journey. Personally, when you started to bring in and mix yourself twice, three times and then add the drums is when the music drew me in. But what do I know, I haven't been in a band for 25+ years now.

I can't contact such groups, I've just taken up the courage to announce this lol, wasn't even on my plans to show it to anyone, as it was more of a project just for myself to have some fun, like personal therapy. I don't have the mental capacity to contact such groups lol. I'm not able to see this as something that may turn out big. I'm just enjoying the process and I'm happy making these performances at home, it gives me joy and I just have a good time while playing the drum and making various sounds with my voice. I know some people are asking if this is on Spotify, but I don't know how all of that works lol. But thank you friend, of course! Thank you for the support, very much appreciated! :D

I was listening, and I enjoy them :D pretty cool. They have an EP with 5 songs, each with 40+ min ._. woah! I want to do something like that too lol, so people can use something more extensive in ritual. Are there any other bands of the sort you know of? @@ArithHärger They are too unique to be a "trend" sadly. Check out their performances which are rituals quite amazing as they blend the esthetic visual aspects with music and ritual performance....

No. The small one is a tambourine, the big one is the drum that has been a very useful companion in the past 15 years, which I think it's just called hand-drum or hand tambourine drum, something.
