This whole special war potential stuff was poorly executed By Kubo. Very very stupid not to include Mayuri yet the quincies surely must have known of how dangerous Mayuri was in the past and all the crazy stuff he did. Kubo dropped the ball yet again IMHO.
I think that's just how his character is. He first in foremost made to be someone who don't talk that much and is usually just in the background in a group. Though I agree we should get more screen time with him though.
You can tell Mayuri is Kubo's favorite captain/character in this last arc. I really enjoyed most of his scenes, though I wish a few other captains had received similar treatment. You mentioned right at the end there how the foreshadowing of Uryu's powers never came to pass. I think that would be a good video topic for the future. There are several things foreshadowed in the final arc that never end up leading to anything. A lot of it came from a small handful of chapters, in particular chapters 543 through 546.
I have a question what did mayor do to his assistant when he finished off that espada he did something to her and he told Uryu and Renoir to get their head out of the gutter?
@@Hollow_Pineapple I believe he had to remove her clothes to work on healing her, and possibly had to reach into a sensitive area to access either materials she carried on her person, or give her a treatment.
Never watched the episodes or read the graphic novels, but i stumbled upon a video where mayuri fights someone and makes them endure hundreds of years being penetrated by a blade. I love the sinister facial expressions he makes and his costumes. This video was suggested in the right, thanks for the comprehensive detail about this anime.
Having Mayuri dissect 1000s of Quincy and revealing it earlier in the soul society to Ishida makes his significance in TYBW justifiable. Well done exposition by Kubo!
One thing that really bugged me: Mayuri revives Luppi, a Fraccion, and the Privaron Espada, but doesn't touch *Aaroniero, Szayelaporro, Nnoitra, Starrk, or Yammy.* He could have swung the entire war right there.
I have a question what did mayor do to his assistant when he finished off that espada he did something to her and he told Uryu and Renoir to get their head out of the gutter?
I always find the Mayuri situation interesting. They definitely make him useful and impressive. And yet the series also kind of sweeps his atrocities under the rug. This guy orchestrated the genocide of the Quincy and then spent untold years torturing their souls. That's horrific. This guy should be lined up behind Aizen to be taken down. Yet he gets smoked by Ishida in the rescue arc....and that's about it. He certainly didn't learn anything and never really seemed to pay any consequences either. He's a useful monster so...they keep using him.
Idk I've always thought that he had all these qualities from the beginning. He was just approaching all the situations objectively and from the analytical side of the story
Often underrated due to not being a flashy fighter and having his bankai killed the first time it is shown. Not many captains even need to think about the bankai dying but this guy literally summons a creature that gets killed and still he got the win
I love your channel dude! Been watching for a few months now, you explain bleach related content in the best coherent way possible. Can't wait for the anime to come back! Cheers :D
I have a question what did mayor do to his assistant when he finished off that espada he did something to her and he told Uryu and Renoir to get their head out of the gutter?
As I read the manga and put it all together, I had to acknowledge Mayuri as the MVP/Soul Society savior in this arc. I mean he didn’t really change at all from previous arcs, still willing to sell out compatriots, more or less, but the outcome of his actions in this arc specifically were largely beneficial to the Shinigami.
Oh yes. Part of that curbstomping can be attributed to believing that it was going to be a Karakura walkover. They were using ancient tactics to fight an enemy that undoubtedly took lessons from modern human warfare. Complacency.
If he didn't kill Pernida, all of them might have been dead from Pernida's power. Science vs Science. Mayuri really is the MVP, plus ressurection of espada and dezzombified
20:15 I think there is honestly an argument he is more suited to the position of Captain General. He cares about his comrades, despite claiming not to. When shit hits the fan, he laid out multiple Sternritter and a member of the Shutstoffel. Without his direct efforts multiple captains would be dead.
Yeah I thought this too. But I guess central 46 would not accept this. Him and Zaraki are probably the most dangerous captains if left to do anything they want or given too much authority and power.
can’t wait for that analysis on mayuri and the fight analysis on the pernida fight keep it up man love ur content and it gets me super hype for bleach :)
Mayuri went from the creepy annoyance that everyone had to tolerate barely to someone who truly is admired for being prepared and seeing the bigger picture.
Mayuri’s ragged look when his sun suit gets destroyed is my favourite for him too, but I kinda wish they had gone a step further during the fight to show what’s under the face paint like that teaser in the Soul Society arc. Seeing him pushed to that point would’ve been cool and might’ve emphasised his humanity during the whole Nemu thing.
That sunflower outfit is so flamboyant, love it! haha I remember when i saw it for the first time and having a feel like Mayuri is about to get some real action
My favourite character in Bleach, and one of my favourite characters in manga period. I loved how this last arc directly addressed so much about his character: the rivalries, his pride and Nemu. But I was a little disappointed by how in the end there wasn’t much bloodlust for getting revenge on him from the Quincy. Then again, I don’t think that would change a single thing about how Mayuri went about the arc.
Imo he was so much of a MVP that Uryu should have killed him while pretending to be on the Wandenreich side. It's all benefits: - Uryu gets more believable in his act (in the eyes of the Sternritter of course, we would still know he's good) - Uryu gets to have revenge for the Quincies that were abandoned / abandoned the Wandenreich (the ones that wanted to make peace with the Shinigami) by killing this complete psycho - Mayuri gets to be remembered as a hero for having such a stellar performance on the war - The threat of the 27 Sternritter (all stated to be captain level or above), gets at least one more captain level Shinigami on their kill count (because let's be honest, they barely elicited more changes in ranks than Aizen in TBTP, even though theirs were because they killed the enemies)
21:45 I feel like that amplifier was sort of introduced in Bleach movie 3: Fade to Black. It ruptures and causes a ton of anomalies to erupt. Like with some of the zanpakto spirits, I like that Kubo never dismissed non-canon works. In a way he makes it so that most of it is "canon", just in a very different form and context.

@@glc704 was there not? Kisuke before the final fight shot the kido into him while he was distracted. I don’t see how that’s baffling when kisuke is literally a super genius and there was a whole ass Arc leading up to the final fight that showed how busted Aizen’s power was. Especially loved this video Mayuri is seriously one of my favourite characters alongside White and Urahara
Mayuri is such an interesting character. I flippin love how crazy he is, we're a lot alike, insane wearing facepaint for no reason. By far my fav captain followed by Shunsui. The thing that I have been thinking about for years now is, how the hell do you create/light a room with no shadows? The ONLY thing my inferior human brain can think of is maybe making all the walls, ceiling and floor each their own light. Like the floor is 1 giant light, the walls are entirely lit as well, the same with the roof. I assume it would be ridiculously bright in there though. What ideas do you all have for how he created/lit that room?
Think they mentioned who was good and evil when they explained the role of the shinigami in exorcising hollows and quincy’s were just deleting the hollows all together…Shinigami pleaded with the Quincy’s to stop so it could be a balance between the worlds and the Quincy’s denied
There's a reason that Shunsui said that Mayuri is likely next in line for Captain Commander if something happens to him. I doubt he'd accept it though - he'd be there as an interim commander until someone else took over though.
He can be kinda like advisor, because i agree with you. Mayuri doesn't want the burden of being a head captain. It will hinders him with his research, but he can still be an advisor.
I personally liked that Mayuri was given such a big role in the TYBW arc. I even remember when he fought Syael Aporro I already didn't care too much about what he did in the soul society arc. Keep in mind all the gotei 13 were technically the "bad guys" in that arc so when they're good guys in the next arc we kinda just shove their past crimes under the rug. For example, people absolutely love Byakuya, they don't care that he was completely willing to let Rukia get executed and he was about to murder Ganju just for being a Shiba, etc
@@kronosleblu888 I thought of that but chose not to put it in the comment, I think it would all hinge at just how much freedom is afforded to a member of the royal guard. If he can continue his research uninterrupted then I think he might join but if not it'd be a hard no

@@tyriessloney9868 what chapter ?
Mayuri has been one of my favourite captains since day 1
I feel like Giselle was the perfect opponent for Shiji to reveal his bankai.
Right!? Perfection
The Sudio: yeah no kubo just wrap it up ok?!
Kubo: 😩fine...
Juha team kills🙃
He can't cuz Byakuya fangirls enraged and want his character to steal all the spotlight.
I think it was all too chaotic, as far as people being all over the place. Things were bad enough without having his bankai accidentally turning any shinigami in the area against each other
Well I feel like if you take into consideration his bankai from the novels then it wouldn’t really work out cause he would have to fight momo and traumatize her even more
Bruhh, those are still their comrades.
Mayuri is perfect counter for gissele because he doesn't care about morals
Mayuri in some respects embodies Kyoraku's philosophy of using evil to defeat evil not being evil. You have to use whatever is at your disposal if you're going to win, let alone even survive, against an enemy that is decimating you
Thumbnail: "Soul Society's MVP?"
Me: "I was unaware that this was up for debate."
This is literally the only place where I can get detailed bleach info 😭❤love it bro ! 💃
I would have loved a scene where Mayuri finds out he isn't considered a special war power but Kisuke is.
What I really loved the most is the fact that Mayuri and Aizen have crossed paths and having a conversation for the first time! I've always wanted them to have a conversation! The monologue king aka troll king Aizen vs the mad twisted psycho creep with high level of IQ and logic that is Mayuri! Kyokasuigetsu vs the drug Mayuri used on zombie toshiro.....that would be epic!
Wait what chapter was that :0?
The second smartest Shinigami with the third smartest Shinigami (which is which is up to personal preference though I have my own ideas on that one)
This whole special war potential stuff was poorly executed By Kubo.
Very very stupid not to include Mayuri yet the quincies surely must have known of how dangerous Mayuri was in the past and all the crazy stuff he did.
Kubo dropped the ball yet again IMHO.
funny because mayuri did way more than kisuke in the TYBW arc.
Chad is still horribly underused and under explored
He literally did nothing in the TYBW
@@hatefulgaming1800 He did the grandiose job of fighting statues 💀
He was totally useless (so was Orihime)
I think that's just how his character is. He first in foremost made to be someone who don't talk that much and is usually just in the background in a group.
Though I agree we should get more screen time with him though.
Chad is a Chad?
As a superfan of Bleach, AND a fan of Maiyuri, I really like this review of the Captain..
Thank you!
You should do a video ranking all of Mayuri's different outfits
You can tell Mayuri is Kubo's favorite captain/character in this last arc. I really enjoyed most of his scenes, though I wish a few other captains had received similar treatment.
You mentioned right at the end there how the foreshadowing of Uryu's powers never came to pass. I think that would be a good video topic for the future.
There are several things foreshadowed in the final arc that never end up leading to anything. A lot of it came from a small handful of chapters, in particular chapters 543 through 546.
He 1v1 the Left hand of the soul king. MVP!!
I have a question what did mayor do to his assistant when he finished off that espada he did something to her and he told Uryu and Renoir to get their head out of the gutter?
@@Hollow_Pineapple we don't talk about her...
@@Hollow_Pineapple did you know mayori's nut has both the properties of rubber and gum?
Except he didn't
Wasted exposition since non of the quincies knew of Mayuri or even considered him a threat based on his past actions against Quincy.
@@kronosleblu888 they are from1000 years ago their goal are different and their fights are
@@kronosleblu888 Lol. Quincies not knowing him as a threat is beneficial to Soul Society. That's why they were not prepared against him. Lol.
One thing that really bugged me:
Mayuri revives Luppi, a Fraccion, and the Privaron Espada, but doesn't touch *Aaroniero, Szayelaporro, Nnoitra, Starrk, or Yammy.*
He could have swung the entire war right there.
Those were the bodies in Syazaelaporro's lab. He probably was working with limited time.
I don’t think he’d want to bring back Szayelaporro in any case
Maybe they were not able to control. I mean Stark has quite s reiatsu.
@@cwbgaming8913 No he died in Normal time, what happened is due to the drug he ingested increased his perception of time, not actually prolonged time.

I love that in every video, you come up with like 5 other video Ideas lol I hope we actually get them one day
Damn! Can't wait to see his fight with Pernida animated. I wonder what will the scream of a hand sound like?
AUUUUUUGHHHHHHH
I always find the Mayuri situation interesting. They definitely make him useful and impressive. And yet the series also kind of sweeps his atrocities under the rug. This guy orchestrated the genocide of the Quincy and then spent untold years torturing their souls. That's horrific. This guy should be lined up behind Aizen to be taken down. Yet he gets smoked by Ishida in the rescue arc....and that's about it. He certainly didn't learn anything and never really seemed to pay any consequences either. He's a useful monster so...they keep using him.
@man with a username The man has a moral compass. Just a twisted, disgusting one.
No wonder he's kubos favorite
Welp he is my favorite too, esp when he unleashed his genetically modified bankai
Mayuri was such the MVP of this arc!!! He's shine was shinier than his suit!!!
I was legit applauding him all the way through it!
man i love your story telling! it made me believe this character like a real person
I love your channel dude! Been watching for a few months now, you explain bleach related content in the best coherent way possible. Can't wait for the anime to come back! Cheers :D

@@Hollow_Pineapple he did what he had todo to win 😂😂😂😂😛
Facts
Mayuri was the sixth war potential ywach didnt account for.
Mayuri Kurotsuchi VS Szayel Apporo is still one of my favorite Bleach fights!
What a TROLL 😂😂😂
Yeah he just trolling there

He could ve cured and eliminate the COVID.
Definitely. You can give him three days and he'll find a solution to it all.
He would use it in gas form
@@msxd1280 dude is working with drugs that slow your perception down to a near halt, he could cure it in less than a day tops lol

Mayuri's light suit is so hilarious but honestly amazing i love it
While the rest of soul society was getting its ass kicked against OP Quincy powers, Mayuri was OP-ing the OP guys.
Oh yes. Part of that curbstomping can be attributed to believing that it was going to be a Karakura walkover. They were using ancient tactics to fight an enemy that undoubtedly took lessons from modern human warfare. Complacency.
I remember feeling the same way after the arc was over... He just destoyed everything and made it look easy most the time
Mayuri is my all-time favorite character! Loved his arc with Pernida!
I need a full playlist of Mayuri, such a phenomenal character.
If he didn't kill Pernida, all of them might have been dead from Pernida's power.
Science vs Science. Mayuri really is the MVP, plus ressurection of espada and dezzombified
Mayuri when he first appeared scared me. Looking at him filled me with an instinctual fear like looking at a King Cobra
Mayuri is that character that shows up and everyone knows... The other guy is going to lose.
That sunflower outfit is so flamboyant, love it! haha
I remember when i saw it for the first time and having a feel like Mayuri is about to get some real action
It's all benefits:
- Uryu gets more believable in his act (in the eyes of the Sternritter of course, we would still know he's good)
- Uryu gets to have revenge for the Quincies that were abandoned / abandoned the Wandenreich (the ones that wanted to make peace with the Shinigami) by killing this complete psycho
- Mayuri gets to be remembered as a hero for having such a stellar performance on the war
- The threat of the 27 Sternritter (all stated to be captain level or above), gets at least one more captain level Shinigami on their kill count (because let's be honest, they barely elicited more changes in ranks than Aizen in TBTP, even though theirs were because they killed the enemies)
Goyte 13? Sounds like somebody that I used to know...
I only just realized today how much a Drow weretiger character I made for D&D has so much of Mayuri's "it serves me to help you..." vibes into his creation. xD he's a mad alchemist necromancer xD
Well he is third most intelligent person in bleach just behind urahara and aizen
So it's kinda expected that he would be very valuable in a war
That's very hard to call. I'd argue he's more intelligent than Aizen but that's hard to see given that they specialize in different things.
Kisuke and Mayuri is also hard to call since I have seen a lot of sources saying Mayuri is smarter than Kisuke even though everyone and their mother believes Kisuke is smarter (which seems to be the one that makes sense)
@@lelouchvibritannia7809 aizen excelled in science the same mayuri had been said to be an expert on which is why he was the first to create a hogyoku and the highest IQ in the soul society
But aizen states kisuke is to the only one he considers a true rival in terms of IQ not reducing mayuri but majority of what he knows he gained from kisuke
Which is partly why he always seeks to surpass urahara kisuke
But what sets aizen apart from those two is his ability to manipulate even without his zankaptou
And what sets urahara apart is his ability to think five times faster and always has contingencies his back up plans have back up plans

He's the lady gaga in bleach
"The reiatsu amplification machine kinda came out of nowhere."
Welllll it **is** Kisuke we're talking about. I love him but let's be honest here. Kisuke's role in the series is the asspull
Right? Like conveniently creating a new Hakudo soley for the purpose of sealing Aizen. Like what?
@@ShadowProject01 that's litterrally the only thing I didn't like of that final fight
There should have been some foresight in the previous fight
Mayuri was the one who made the reiatsu amplification machine.
@@glc704 was there not? Kisuke before the final fight shot the kido into him while he was distracted. The fact that he made it can easily be attributed to the fact that aizen is pretty much immortal so he probably developed it when he betrayed the gotei 13. I don’t see how that’s baffling when kisuke is literally a super genius and there was a whole ass Arc leading up to the final fight that showed how busted Aizen’s power was. So he had plenty of time and reason to do so.
I don't know, that sounds like something he'd have in his lab for experiments.
Love this video. You should do a big video on some of these characters relationships. I like how you explained the Kenpachi/Mayuri relationship
Mayuri is NOT on of my favorites, but it was pretty cool seeing the turn in his personality and ideology in TYBW
Mayuri is definitely my favorite Shinigami. He comes off as an Anti-hero and I love that aspect about him.
So, Mayuri's like . . . He's technically a human soul with prosthetic adjustments, right? He looks perfectly human even without our kind of ears. He's like cyberpunk 2077 in Seireitei.
Well he’s not really a human soul, Ichigo is a human soul, Mayuri is a shinigami soul, of course he was once human, which is probably what you meant I’m guessing. But yea otherwise true.
Kinda..he mods everything about himself to never fall for the same trick twice.
Love these videos man just wanted weigh in because it came to mind during the brief mention of Mayuri and perfection. A friend of mine actually mentioned that Mayuri’s bankai being a baby/caterpillar exemplifies his view on perfection as these are both things that are essentially center around growing and becoming better/stronger/adapting/etc. Just want to see what people think about that.
Especially loved this video Mayuri is seriously one of my favourite characters alongside White and Urahara
It’s weird, during his fight with Uryu I was so pissed he got away. Then over the next few arcs he became like my favorite Captain
Absolute MVP along with Urahara and Zaraki
Here a year later…. Waiting on more Mayuri material….
i dont know why but i really like mayuri since the first episode he are in
Amazing analysis
Mayuri literally carried the Soul Society at the war… nothing more to say.
Mayuri is a better orochimaru than orochimaru himself 🤣🤣🤣
Think they mentioned who was good and evil when they explained the role of the shinigami in exorcising hollows and quincy’s were just deleting the hollows all together…Shinigami pleaded with the Quincy’s to stop so it could be a balance between the worlds and the Quincy’s denied
MVP!!! Without him shinigami would be in shambles. If i was ywach. I would put him as 6th person potential war threat
That first giant headcrest mayuri is wearing reminds me of a turtleshell if seen from behind.
I can't wait for dubbed Mayuri to look at the head captain and go "how dare you"
That sun outfit has always amused me, especially because it actually does glow so brightly that it temporarily blinds anyone looking at it.
There's a reason that Shunsui said that Mayuri is likely next in line for Captain Commander if something happens to him. I doubt he'd accept it though - he'd be there as an interim commander until someone else took over though.
I agree
"let Rukia get executed" as if she hadn't broke a law. It's very different from planting bombs inside your subordinates.
THATS WHY HES MY GOAT
He did more damage to the quincies than any other players including Urahara and Aizen. And he isn't in the list of Yhwach's war notice.
I wonder if Miyuri would be invited to join the royal guard for his contributions in his R&D department
I doubt he cares about such things. He loves his life down there in soul society. Seems like soul palace Royal guard life is restrictive and boring.
@@kronosleblu888 I thought of that but chose not to put it in the comment, I think it would all hinge at just how much freedom is afforded to a member of the royal guard. If he can continue his research uninterrupted then I think he might join but if not it'd be a hard no
@@cryptopsyrin4425 haha yeah agree.
