His big accomplishment was modifying the dead sternritter and arracar from aizsn for CFYOW... he even gave them Parts of Pernida and Gerard Valkyrie... It was amazing And hisbusage of shunpo to remove and realign millions of nerves to stop Pernida was anazing
*The Question, is if Aizen made the Arracar to Fight the Schutzstaffel, and could see them in Shadows of Soul Society* The numbered SterRitter match the powers of the Hierarchy of the
If you look at Bleach: Brave Souls releases, there's a Kubo design of beyond bankai Mayuri, who looks hella tired with bags under his eyes and with chubby moth-like Ashisogi Jizo hovering behind him, holding on a halo. So sort of it works.
I disagree due to I'd argue there can only be one peak intelligence BUT I do think the war powers could've had the peak war powers as is and then the ones that MAY be a problem but won't be likely. Like Yamamoto in general was extremely powerful and if had a cool head then this whole thing would've been different but his behavior was expected. A list like that where Mayuri would've fit perfectly.
@@yuanlatina8258 Well he's just a normal shinigami with pure science madness. Nothing is unique about him but him being the science madman who believes in surpassing every superficial being with science is what makes him dangerous.
He is a smart guy, but not the smartest. He is powerful, but not the most powerful. And even his Releases don't do anything super crazy. I think it makes sense that he isn't one, as Ywach doesn't see him as much of a threat. And really what would he have done against Gerrard? Against Ywach?
@@harrisonhurst6480 What would any of them have done against Gerrard or Ywach? Kenpachi (a war power) alongside two other captains couldn't beat Gerrard. Ywach took on two war powers and still was only defeated thanks to the still silver Mayuri took down one of the Schutzstaffel just like Urahara and he did it with less help.
It may just be me, but ive noticed Kubo often seems to draw Mayuris hands in a very unique way. Lots of focus when hes holding objects, and his fingers are often elongated and strangely twisted, such as when he displays the "time drug" bottle to Szayel. Perhaps its only fitting that his finale is fighting a giant mutated version of the Hamburger Helper glove....
I've noticed that too. He's always covered in paint that almost makes him look like an optical illusion, and Kubo made his movements and poses accentuate that bit to the last detail.
I think I know what you mean, draws them with exagerated tendons which put a lot of tension into the hand. I hadn't noticed this but I'll look for it from now on.
It's weird because I hate with a passion when Aizen is like "Ah yes, all according to my plan so I win" but I absolutely love whenever Mayuri is like "Ah yes, but science so I win"
That's a good point. I think its because Mayuri doesn't have macro plans, spanning years and years. His plans take place over a few days at most. His biggest experiment, Nemu, is the the biggest exception.
Its because Aizen always sounds like a politician claiming to be in control. Like every single step has been laid out by him and the rest of the cast are all just puppets; he has a casual, boring answer to any possible thing. He's never in real danger and he always wins. He's the absolute expression of a Gary Stu. With Mayuri, he has no control over anyone; he's just thought through every feasible permutation of people's interactions and pre-planned for anything possible... and a few things that shouldn't be possible. He gets blindsided and surprised regularly and has to duct-tape ad hoc solutions together on the fly. He always feels like he could lose.
It has always amazed me how Kubo, within the last arc ALONE, got a character that was introduced early on in the series and made him become SUCH a badass. And it was kinda out of nowhere! Who would have thought, before the final arc began, that Mayuri would be the MVP of the arc? And I mean it! HE did so many things that he himself was more important than a whole army would've been.
@@blingsing5383 Kyouraku take Aizen to the war man, he's kinda one of the pieces of the final battle.. Of course the manga ending is a rushed piece of shit, but in anime we will see better this
That was fun! For me, I don’t think the way Mayuri treats Nemu was retconned at all. He has stated that Nemu was built from his own cells, and has treated her as an extension of his own body, and he’s very detached from and abusive of his own body. It would also seem that he’s been punishing her for his own feelings.
So Maiyuri was abusive because he literally didn't see her as a person, while Nemu chooses to use the autonomy Maiyuri hardly recognized to die for him anyway. Wow I hate him.
@@CaptKami18 Am I not? Cause I'm still confused about the tone Nemu's death is meant to be in, it doesn't feel to me like it's portrayed as the complete tragedy I find it to be.
@@Turnpost2552 I haven’t read the manga. When was syzel the 0 espada? I know he was 8 when he fought mayuri, was he the zero espada when he had his brother absorbed prior to his fight against mayuri?
Anyone else notice that Ichigo holds his Shinigami sword in his right hand and holds the Quincy sword in his left? There's definitely some symbolism of the soul king and how the right hand took the side of the Shinigami and the Left hand took the side of the Quincies. It'd definitely showing that the Soul King probably possessed the Shinigami abilities in his Right hand and had Quincy abilities in his left. Definitely a grim foreshadowing of Ichigo potentially becoming the next Soul King.
Nemu coming to help Mayuri kinda plays into one of the themes of the TYBW Arc - you can't really fight alone all the time and you're GOING to need other people to help you out. Same thing with Ise and Kyoraku, the Arrancar showing up to fight together with the Shinigami, and the final battle with Ichigo being helped by several characters (mostly Aizen and Ishida), as he alone can't defeat Yhwach.
My favorite scene of this fight is when Mayuri leaps off the building with Nemu standing behind him. But aside from the numerous plot holes left in this series, Kubo did a fantastic job in the character development and Mayuri, I think, was one of the best. From being introduced as a captain, to finding out he was a criminal, to underling, to self-centered flamboyant character, to someone so mentally defeated that he talks to the dead, to savior. Mayuri has always been in my top 5.
Mayuri is one those characters that I hate but also like to some extent. He’s more psychotic and evil than most actual villains of the show but he’s allowed to be a captain. That alone showcases the lack of pure good and evil in bleach. There’s really good and bad people on both sides.
Rewatching the series, the soul society arc was soooo good for this reason. It really humanized the "bad guys" and all that. The last arc is amazing but it's not the same, they still feel like bad guys. Not all of them but.
The thing I'm most excited about Nemu character is that now with Nemu #8 is Kazui and Ichika's age, so she's basically perfect (lol) to interact with our new main cast
Mayuri is so slept on. One of the most clutch and creative captains. He has some of the best fights because its never about who has more power. Who can outsmart and think ahead more steps. The contingency plan GOAT! Batman could never lol
One of my favorite fights in Bleach, it was damn near perfect. Mayuri and Pernida pulled out so much crazy shit on each other in an intense battle of tactics and ingenuity. Also really love Mayuri's character development towards Nemu during the fight, he had to admit to himself his feeling of fatherhood over her and that he really does deeply value Nemu.
That’s exactly what I said. You can’t deny how cool and interesting those battles would have been. I imagine urahara would be just as excited facing a fragment of the soul king. Early in the arc, kubo really did give the vibe that askin and Mayuri would face off
More like what else could he do? Kinda quick thinking tho. “Pernida’s gonna eat her then…waaaiiit, get the brain!” He didn’t plan it but he realized it! It’s sad but science gonna science. Thing is, he didn’t have any use for that brain. But he was clinging to it like it meant something to him even when he passed out.
This is honestly my favorite fight in the series. I went from feeling meh about Mayuri, whilst still liking him, to loving him and Nemu so much more. Also, I'd like to point out that I think he's simply been trying to teach himself true love for something this whole time. Namely in the only way that someone like him could understand. Through a daughter that he created himself purely through spiritual science.
I really think that grimmjow training with mayuri and makimgba relation with could be a very interesting development... To become a man/cat like vegeta
Nemu has always been one of my favorite characters in the series. It was nice seeing her evolve (no pun intended) throughout the story and helping Mayuri become a better person.
Did he really become a better person? Not that much, and he pretty much framed his momentary grief over Nemu's death in terms of how it inconvenienced him.
@@MrGksarathyIt helped hum realize what his true masterpiece is and what he was trying to achieved as a scientist. He was always ego centric and over the top character but with nemu sacrificing herself and showing she can decide what she wants is what moved mayuri into realizing what he forgotten a long time ago which is his dream to create life in absolute nothing. But ever since the ss arc, nemu has ben just like a puppy robot to him hence why he despises her as it remarks him that he created a failure to the point where he kinda stopped chasing his real dream or has long forgotten it. When the fight against Pernida, Nemu has started to show her own evolution too and now can create and follow her own decisions instead of just blindly following her creator and that's where mayuri realize what he was dreaming before or what was the true purpose of why she created her. It gave him a spark again to pursue his dreams even after nemu died, that's where he started valuing the life of those who are close arround him and even his comrades. This is the sole reason why ikkaku and yumichika thanking mayuri hits him. And nemu's evolution is the sole reason as to why Mayuri thinks he surpassed Urahara. It's a great character development for even a crazy maniacal mad scientist like him. He is now toned down, but only toned down towards his allies, he is still hostile towards others.
This might actually be my favorite fight in the entire series. It has everything: Mayuri (my favorite character), a really strange opponent with a deadly ability and interesting concept that gives Kubo a chance to really go in with the creepy body horror, fantastic battle choreography and lots of smartly-written combat, actual stakes and Mayuri having to _try_ more than ever and being in real danger, an altered Bankai that fits Mayuri somehow even more, and the entire backstory of Nemu which is actually quite beautiful (and sad with her death) and shows some sort of growth for Mayuri as a character, and a non-villain _character death_ that actually has emotional resonance for the reader and the characters involved. It is amazingly written, some of Kubo's most impressive and original artwork, and tells a surpringly deep story that actually kind of humanizes the least humane Captain of the Gotei 13 and makes him an even more fascinating character. I do disagree slightly with the idea that Mayuri's achievement may be behind that of Urahara's with Ururu and Jinta -- I think this battle actually shows that Nemu was actually more developed in many ways compared to Jinta or Ururu. Not only does she show that she is just as much a complete person with her own agency as those two, but she also displays that she is significantly more powerful than Kisuke's creations. Also considering the apparent age difference (Nemu appearing noticeably older than Jinta and Ururu) and the fact that we know Mayuri had been working on the project for some time and that them growing up is a major part of the experiment (with previous failures), it stands to reason that Nemu was very likely created before Jinta and Ururu, suggesting that Mayuri *did* finally achieve something before Urahara... even if Urahara did ultimately create similar beings himself too. That in itself would be a victory to Mayuri. Though the most important part is that the entire thing showed that he isn't totally devoid of empathy and despite his treatment of her in the past, Mayuri had a deep affection for his "daughter" in his own way.
The funny thing is all these characters have insanely ridiculous abilities and hax but when Mayuri pulls an invention out of nowhere people think it's weird he was prepared for that. He's literally in a league of his own, even if you take in count Urahara. No one is as unique as Mayuri in all aspects
Urahara was gifted with hax. Mayuri had to create them himself. They are both great characters and they share a theme of "be prepared for any circumstance". Admittedly, I stan Urahara a lot more, and I kind of think that if Kubo Tite were to keep writing the series, Urahara might be the ultimate mastermind/villain, just because of the way he selectively fights... Like, if he used his bankai in the fight against Aizen (while he was fighting alongside Isshin and Yoruichi) he could have just reconstructed his eyes to be immune to Aizen's total hypnosis and ended it there. I wonder if he wants Ichigo to power up enough to be the soul-king for his own benefit, as he takes a VERY unusual interest towards "leveling" him up throughout the arcs. This might all just be a long con for his end goal... but anyway... Mayuri is one of the best written anti-heroes in anime. This fight with Nemu really showed that off. He's always the weird trump card whenever soul society is in peril. I LOVE the fact that Zaraki's brain dead "CRUSH EVERYTHING REEEE" mentality finally got shown to not work against everything. Zaraki is so overhyped and it's honestly annoying.
I think he just might have if Pernida had actually used his vollstandig form. He’s one of the few quinces we never got to see a holy form for. Even Gerard had one
We honestly did. I for one was outraged that Nemu sacrificed herself for that dirtbag. She was too good for him, and I hate how her death was used to make Mayuri momentarily more sympathetic, though I am glad in some sense that he quashed that feeling within seconds.
I was one of those people. Mayuri is sadistic, abused Nemu and was intimate with her like a bad boyfriend, Him saving the others is a complete retcon to him blowing up his own squad. He also is the king of ass pulls. Lol sorry for coming off strong there, just tired of people forgetting what this guy is.
My Favorite was when Pernida said, “Your going to need to do better then that Kurotsuchi” Mayuri “Da Fuk did you just say? Oh no this battle can’t keep going with Pernida Continuing to Evolve especially sounding like Kenpachi now.”
To be fair to Mayuri's other fights, I've seen a lot of people adore his answer to Szaylaporro. The 8th espada had some absurdly powerful abilities, and until he fights Mayuri he acts untouchable. A lot of the Szaylaporro fight goes nowhere because the people he fights just don't have a way of threatening him. Mayuri handily counters his voodoo doll ability in a way that feel ridiculously, but beleivable for him when you think about it. He replaced a severed arm *during* his fight with Uriu, and disassembles his entire body to save himself. Replacing his vital organs doesn't feel too out-there when he's already done all this, and by doing so he forces the fight to progress. He forces Szaylaporro to lose his cool, and fight at a pace he wasn't used to. It felt like a fitting conclusion to a fight with an espada who slowly and gruelingly ripped the protagonists apart.
This is my favorite fight in all of Bleach and I feel it was a real showcase of the best the series has to offer. It is a fight that tells a real story, it is full of dynamic and creative fast-paced action, all three of the major characters involved in it get fantastic development, it has a lot of underlying themes and fascinating imagery and the artwork is a stunning mixture of both the grotesque and the beautiful. A truly wonderful battle and some of Kubo's very best work.
I never saw it as “evolution”. I always thought it was more like powers slowly returning back to Pernida. The breaking of the chains was basically unlocking that power. The longer the fight, the more powers, memory and personality comes back to Pernida
I think evolution is more of a narrative thing to relate albeit in contrast to Mimihagi which is seen as "stagnation" so naturally Pernida would be evolution or "progression".
These battle breakdowns/analysis have to be my favorite pastimes. Listen to them in the car and basically everywhere else. Best series on youtube my friend, keep up this anazing work. This is what sets you aside from the other Bleach RUclipsrs I watch, although you’re all great 😂🙏🏾
I usually do not comment on the videos, but this one is really worth it. In my opinion, this is atleast in the top 3 battles of the whole series and you did it justice with your analysis.
Maybe Mayuri's mistreatment of Nemu is just him trying to push her growth through extreme stress? He was a god trying to create his own man. If Nemu developing her own sense of self and rebelling against him would prove that she was more than just his puppet.
The thing about this battle is whe see that in the end Mayuri come to love (in a father way) his creation (Nemu) and when he see Nemu being destroyied he finaly understand dispair.
But then he immediately talks himself out of it by reaffirming his love for "science". His love, if it existed, is deeply twisted and narcissistic and should not be viewed as a positive.
@@MrGksarathy Mayuri wants to make a “person” not a product That’s why he named her “Kurotsuchi” He just not good at shows his feelings,Akon says he’s embarrassed(shy) and didn’t want Nemu noticing that he is happy about her growth. I mean, Kubo used many ways to describe him that he loves her and thought she is his daughter. He changed his ways to treat her I think is the best evidence. I think Nemu is actually a person to Mayuri. And his love to her, I think it’s just unusual, but not that twisted, he is a strange person, I don't think it's right to describe him from an normal person’s point.
I believe Nemu during SSA was stagnant which is why Myuri was cruel to her but after SSA and her interaction with the outside world she once again started to evolve which improve Myuri behavior towards her. Well that how I interpreted it
if you go back to turn back the pendulum arc you’ll find mayuri studying a book that’s titled “left arm of the soul king” on a panel it’s really foreshadowed for sure
She's his child and her learning things if she didn't die may have signaled to him the worst day for most parents when their child may want to take the next steps even though of course Mayuri would have never let it happen, but it may have been an interesting growth arc for his character to learn to let go and not always control everything as well if bleach does get continued in the hell arc/forward on which may happen with nemuri and he creates a new child.
this fight right here opened my eyes to how amazing of a character mayuri is. he's quite literally one of the most evil characters in the entire series who just happens to be on the "good" side (though there really aren't good sides in bleach). he's so comically villainous and his fights are so fun, i can't help but have him as my favorite character
Mayuri’s struggle probably comes from creating the things he utilizes. Like you said, he changed his organs around in an hours time. It’s the definition of “he makes it look easy, but if you saw how much he prepared and put into making it look easy, you wouldn’t think it was easy”. Maybe a scene or two of him experimenting on himself will capture the core of that thought.
Kubo in ONE Arc has menage to show almost all the innocent female characters in compromising positions/situations from Rukia's hindquarters to Nemu and Masaki being completely naked to the over-sexualization of Orihime (with the dumb outfit choice) and Yoruichi (with the naked lightning cat mode).
The best Schutztaffel fight for sure and one of the best fights in the series where we can really feel the sense of danger and consequences. Maiyuri really has some of the best fights, monologues and abilities, what a great character. But even Nemu was used very well here against a formidable very unorthodox opponent.
I still think Nemu should've lived and Mayuri should've died. Everything about this fight and Mayuri's role in the story would've made more narrative sense if he died. But instead she's yet another female character sacrificed to protect a dude.
He's one of the best developed characters over the series. Ashisokijizo is a horrific (and sad..) monstrosity, related to the Shinto goddess of sick/stillborn children. That says alot I think, regarding his loose concept of ethics; which often ends up leading to the answers the other squads need to efficiently attack, defend, and entrap the enemy. I didn't like him in the Rescue arc. His prep for Szayell Aporro changed my mind. He's the necessary evil of the Soul Society, monitoring the dimensions, the soul cycle, and constantly modifying and improving weapons and training equipment for multiple captain-class officers.
This fight was the moment Nemu stepped into my top ten characters in Bleach. She was on my radar from jump and how a character exits a story, to me, speaks louder than how they enter it. And she went out in dazzling fashion!! I enjoyed that the final battles included three ladies who usually don’t fight (Nano, Nemu and Orihime) and they end up shining brightly!!
I didnt like how Kenpachi got treated in the fight, but thinking about it, nobody but Mairyu had a chance. Ichigo, Renji, Grimjaw, and everybody else there would have done the same thing Kenpachi did, move into strike, then get infected by the nerves and been taken out. Doesn't seem to matter how strong you are, the nerve threads just invade and mess you up. If Rukia could activate Bankai fast enough she might have stood a chance at freezing him to absolute zero. Senbonzakura might have worked in keeping Byakuya safe and at range but that nerve invasion is just to damn powerful of an ability.
I agree. I have to rant. No offense to Kubo. I know Mayuri is Kubo's favorite character and wanted to emphasize on him being the only one capable of figuring out Pernida's ability, but he didn't have to make Kenpachi a useless, brainless brute to express it. Kenpachi instinctually jumping back and ripping his arm off was already a great example, having him idiotically go back for round 2 and lose his legs was hilarious and surprisingly out of character for him. He wasn't just an example for Pernida's power, he was the butt end of a random joke. his defeat was uncommonly and comedically exaggerated, it felt like a rushed set up for Mayuri to fight Pernida and I hope this scene will be written better in the anime. How did Mayuri even get close enough to Kenpachi without getting affected by the nerves as well? How did he get him away from Pernida so fast? It makes no sense. I'm no writer, but I would just cut out the part where Kenpachi rushes in a 2nd time, that's all. Have Mayuri realize Kenpachi isn't suited for this opponent, and he stabs Kenpachi in the back with his Zanpakuto while he's distracted with attempting to take his eyepatch off after he lost his arm, paralyzing him. Therefore Kenpachi can still be insulted by Mayuri while he is paralyzed, confused and pissed off. It would have been consistent with Kenpachi's character, and quite a lot funnier than Kenpachi just being a brain dead brute for the first time ever. Kenpachi has incredible combat and survival instincts, he would have known there wasn't a direct way to damage Pernida, especially after the first attack. He didn't rush and swing widely in the dark like Tousen expected him to, and that was the most interesting thing about Kenpachi to me, he's more clever than you expect and it's surprising at first glance. I miss that depiction of him.. He isn't brain dead, like you see here. He just isn't a tactician like Mayuri. And he shouldn't be depicted as such, kind of devolves the character. Kenpachi has never been up against anything he couldn't cut before, so he would instinctually wait and look for a solution or a way to cut them, like he did with Nnoitra's arms and Tousen. Not "cut it faster" a second time, only an idiot would do that. He takes his fights way more seriously than that. He always has fun in a fight, yeah. But he also takes them very seriously, especially if his opponent can damage him severely, that's why he took his eyepatch off with Ichigo and used a kendo strike on Nnoitra. The Kenpachi I knew wouldn't run up a second time, he would wait, listen, hear Mayuri out and attack accordingly. Or just simply overpower Pernida's nerves with his ridiculous Reiatsu intensity. It feels like fighting Unohana and "unlocking his true potential" made him weaker. I guess it was intentional? What was all the years of hype for if he's just depicted as a dumb brute? And this was the third time (a forth later on) Kubo wrote Kenpachi to be saved by someone. First it was Yamamoto, Ichigo, Mayuri, then Byakuya and Toshiro. I appreciate all Kubo did in general, and for Kenpachi getting a cool backstory and great setup, I'm just disappointed in his payoffs and depictions. Kenpachi is very powerful, but was turned into the Vegeta from the current Dragon Ball Super manga. I'd rather him be weaker and a genius, than over powered and a dummy. And where's his yellow aura with the skulls? It doesn't exist anymore? Sad.
The only analysis of this absolutely astute perception of this battle I’d disagree with is that kubo tried to “retroactively change” the relationship between Nemu and Mayuri. I think the underlying theme of the fight between Mayuri and Pernida is somewhere along the lines of “constantly evolving” , “exceeding your limits” or maybe even just “progress” idk a way to say it eloquently lol. But we see that with Mayuri constantly making quick decisions to counter Pernida’s attacks and Pernidas subsequent fighting itself seems to evolve throughout the fight going from somewhat simple and straight forward to brutal and creative, there’s even the moment where it’s speech itself seems to evolve. I think it also emphasizes that in the beginning, Mayuri wasn’t as smart as he thought he was. The thing he consistently didn’t factor was emotion. I’d even maybe argue he might not have known how to actually express emotion correctly, so he just kinda compartmentalized all his emotions and chose to function only on logic. Through time though, he genuinely grew to care for Nemu as a daughter, his creation, his magnum opus. I think it also took the extreme circumstances for him to realize his error. He treated Nemu terribly, and despite that she still cared for him. She grew to truly want to protect him, going so far as to act on her own and technically disregarded her directive from her captain who, up until this point, she had never even considered. I felt it showed that even though Mayuri abused her, she could recognize that he didn’t really have the ability to realize in that moment how he was actually being wrong. Mayuri never deserved respect and care from her, but she loved him none the less. We even start to see Mayuris character evolve. We see him start to get excited and at some points maybe even some fear. He’s acting so reckless it almost seems out of character. What were actually seeing is a man starting to crack after watching his home and colleges massacred in front of him, and then being pushed to his absolute limit. Pernida showed evolution with his power Nemu showed evolution through humanity, and Mayuri showed evolution through his classic intelligence, and his newly felt and recognized emotion. Even considering my disagreement, this vid is just like all the others and awesome! Anything about Mayuri is so engaging to me! The squad 12 captains have a special place in my heart. Men who need therapy but choose to build a robot instead, I can relate 😂. Anyway, thanks for another great video 💙
All the strengths that make urahara seem/look OP such as his bankai and his tools and own technical skill set is easily counterproductive against mayuri and has been since mayuri started dropping feats. The mad doctor literally has an answer for anything urahara throws out kinda like a better version of gin watching over aizen ever so closely.
This could've definitely been the best Schutzstaffel fight in the war. Mayuri was cool af the whole fight and I think Pernida was the type of enemy that only he could've defeated (maybe Urahara too considering what his bankai does). I can see what you mean about Kubo planning this fight out because the way it flowed just really made sense. Oh, when you mention that Mayuri was not as "evil" in this arc as when he was introduced, I would attribute that to Uryu kicking his ass previously. Mayuri underestimated his opponent and lost because of it - what kind of genius scientist would he be if he didn't learn a lesson from that? Anyways I enjoyed the video! Thank you for making it.
I always thought that Pernida, being a hand of the soul king, was at one point a human shape but he ywach or gremmy created the body in the image he wanted?!
Mayuri has been my favourite Captain sons his introduction and he has truly grown. Ranging from helping Uryu & Renji to showing his confidence in Ichigo's victory over Aizen to being the true MVP of the TYBW He's the best parent in Bleach nor the most noble or. honorable Shinigami, but he's learning to be more humane just as Nemu was.
Honestly I really loved this battle theme cause it’s not strength vs intelligence or a battle of who is the strongest but SCIENCE VS GOD but poor Nemu didn’t deserve to die but in the end Maiyuri keeps her close to his heart and shows he does care about her
The fact that makes this dick so good is that it's Mayuri, the epitome of iteration, of progress, vs the literal left arm of the soul king, THE bastion of progress. It could only be so for Mayuri and Nemu to be pushed this far for this and it was amazing.
This battle really leaves a bad taste after reading. It's great, the shots, the powers, the character development, the idea of science battle, but to see such a nice character just being a creation of mad scientist, that cares for her in his twisted way is disturbing, it just ticks different boxes than battles usually do. And again, i do like the battle, i just don't like the idea behind it
What I noticed from this fight is that it's almost similar in format to Shunsui's, Activates Bankai, doesn't work, so the girls finish the job with their help :D
Hey, it would be cool a video listing characters that could or should have died in some moment of the series. Idk if you have made a video about that but its a very interesting topic, mainly before the quincy arc pratically nobody of the ""heroes"" dies in the show and this is a big problem considering the overhyped Aizen plan and espadas power. To me obviously Hinamori should died, this would put Hitsugaya in a badass vengeance path and would put something in this shit character. Other that could died is Ikakku, my favorite char in the series. But what he do after that badass fight with the lava arrankar? Would be much better if that guy was a espada 9, or 8 and Ikakku used everything to fight that guy and both died. I mean i prefer he alive and have good fights and some development, but the "role" Kubo put him is so shit that would be better just kill the character in his full glory that time.. Of course that should died is Byakuya in quincy invasion too, this is pratically unanimous in the fandom..
One thing about Kurotsuchi's fights is that it's always science I win and I love that about him it's not always about oh I can just strong arm my way through the fight no hes always a think think scheme plot but backup plan Kind of guy am I admired that in all his fights though I love his personality for being so psychotic at times even though i especially hate how he treats Nemu hes has been a guilty pleasure to read about
This is one of the best, if not best battles in the entire series even down to the ending. This was one of the few times in the last part of the arc that Kubo was fully present and it showed. I enjoyed this battle and this is why I want Cour 4 to come on already. Edit: The Theater Suicide was a letdown. Kyoraku was robbed.
I think Askin's fight had the highest potential to be the best but since Kubo was starting to struggle time-wise, it wasn't as fleshed out as it coule have been. So Mayuri & Nemu vs Pernida is the best SS Battle for me
Mayuri made Bleach for me. The most memorable fight in any battle shonen for me is still to this day the Mayuri vs Szayelaporro one. The amount of asspulls from both sides is just *chef's kiss*. It is the quintessential Bleach fight. Exact counter vs exact counter, ad infinitum. Mayuri w/ preptime is perhaps the most overpowered Bleach character.
I recently finished reading the manga and I have to say that the Pernida fight was my favorite fight of all the Schutzstaffel. And a very close second fight would be Renji vs mask. But the Pernida fight gets the edge for me because you never know what Mayuri is going to do next against this seemingly unstoppable, borderline immortal being.
I would really like to know how Yuha was able to recruit an appendage of, what is essential, the Shinigami’s God. I doubt we’d get a flashback in the anime but it would be interesting to know how Yuha found it.
The Soul King wasn’t the Shinigami’s God, rather it was a being that created all of the races and realms within Bleach. It wasn’t a Shinigami itself, rather the Shinigami subjugated it, removed it’s limbs, and kept it in the Soul Society as it’s existence held all of reality together. Check out the 3 part canon light-novels “Can’t Fear Your Own World”, it’s a direct continuation of Bleach post TYBW and it explains a lot more about the Soul King than the manga did. There’s a chance the anime might adapt some of its material since it has become rather popular among fans.
The Soul King created all the different "realms:" of Bleach from the World of the Living, Soul Society, Hueco Mundo. Soul Reapers are the polar opposite to Quincy's, Hollows are the imbalance between the living, Soul Reapers/Shingami and Quincy's. The Soul King made them, so it stands to reason that he'd have a Quincy AND Soul Reaper arm (or at least that's my working theory so far lol).
I can not wait for this fight to be animated in core 3. Of all the fights in TYBW anime adaptation this is the one I want the most. Mayuri is my favorite captain and character in Bleach the anime can’t come back so enough.
Hot take but I think Mayuri should’ve died in this arc…and I think Uryu should’ve been the one to do it. There should’ve been more mention of the Quincy purge and this was Mayuri having his sins catch up to him.
@@sukuna716 The Central 46 deserve to die too lol. But I mean the brutality of Mayuri’s experiments e.g. what he did with Soken and he mentioned how he was one of many Quincy.

I personally think this is the best Schutzstaffel fight!!!
Yea
I personally love it and it's my favorite in the series. It's Tite Kubo at his peak. It got me really excited for Bleach each week
His big accomplishment was modifying the dead sternritter and arracar from aizsn for CFYOW... he even gave them Parts of Pernida and Gerard Valkyrie... It was amazing
And hisbusage of shunpo to remove and realign millions of nerves to stop Pernida was anazing
*The Question, is if Aizen made the Arracar to Fight the Schutzstaffel, and could see them in Shadows of Soul Society*
The numbered SterRitter match the powers of the Hierarchy of the
Mayuri’s next bankai modification is a back brace from having to carry everyone in the blood war
If you look at Bleach: Brave Souls releases, there's a Kubo design of beyond bankai Mayuri, who looks hella tired with bags under his eyes and with chubby moth-like Ashisogi Jizo hovering behind him, holding on a halo. So sort of it works.
😂🤣👌
Mayuri carried the Shinigami on his back during this war.

The fact that Mayuri wasn't considered a war power is a crime.

Mayuri took down one of the Schutzstaffel just like Urahara and he did it with less help.
It may just be me, but ive noticed Kubo often seems to draw Mayuris hands in a very unique way. Lots of focus when hes holding objects, and his fingers are often elongated and strangely twisted, such as when he displays the "time drug" bottle to Szayel. Perhaps its only fitting that his finale is fighting a giant mutated version of the Hamburger Helper glove....
omg how have I not heard the Hamburger Helper comparison yet 🤣🤣🤣
I've noticed that too. He's always covered in paint that almost makes him look like an optical illusion, and Kubo made his movements and poses accentuate that bit to the last detail.
Maybe it's a metaphor for his tainted hands from his horrible actions and experiments in pursuit of progress?
I think I know what you mean, draws them with exagerated tendons which put a lot of tension into the hand. I hadn't noticed this but I'll look for it from now on.
Kubo did say Mayuri is his favorite character! So maybe that's why he put so much detail to Mayuri alot 😊
That might be because of the scope. Mayuri didn't plan the whole series beforehand.
I'm actually super grateful that Aizen's the big baddie instead of Mayuri. Can you imagine?
It can’t be helped lol. 🔥🔥battle

That was fun! For me, I don’t think the way Mayuri treats Nemu was retconned at all. He has stated that Nemu was built from his own cells, and has treated her as an extension of his own body, and he’s very detached from and abusive of his own body. It would also seem that he’s been punishing her for his own feelings.
yea cause mayuri only did that beacuse its his creation and felt insulted that a slash from himself could kill her
Well if she was perfection, Mayuri literally says he abhors perfection…
So Maiyuri was abusive because he literally didn't see her as a person, while Nemu chooses to use the autonomy Maiyuri hardly recognized to die for him anyway.

Very good assumption

Nemu coming to help Mayuri kinda plays into one of the themes of the TYBW Arc - you can't really fight alone all the time and you're GOING to need other people to help you out.
Same thing with Ise and Kyoraku, the Arrancar showing up to fight together with the Shinigami, and the final battle with Ichigo being helped by several characters (mostly Aizen and Ishida), as he alone can't defeat Yhwach.
It was practically Mayuri by himself since nemu was just a project of his which he created
It kind of mayuri all on his own. Nemu was created by him and from him...
@@Pqihtyieojn12Mayuri and his power

The soul society are not the good or the bad guys they’re the ones who keep the balance.
@@superiorrule34 I know.
Rewatching the series, the soul society arc was soooo good for this reason. It really humanized the "bad guys" and all that. The last arc is amazing but it's not the same, they still feel like bad guys. Not all of them but.
It’s pretty much like real life that’s why I love bleach it’s real

The battle analysis I’ve been waiting for!!! Thanks Tommo🔥🔥🔥🔥 This fight will be awesome in the anime!!
I think this is the first time I see Mayuri in emotional distress this probably the most pain he ever experienced, for a short moment he actually sad
Mayuri is so slept on. One of the most clutch and creative captains. He has some of the best fights because its never about who has more power. Who can outsmart and think ahead more steps. The contingency plan GOAT! Batman could never lol
He could tho
One of my favorite fights in Bleach, it was damn near perfect. Mayuri and Pernida pulled out so much crazy shit on each other in an intense battle of tactics and ingenuity. Also really love Mayuri's character development towards Nemu during the fight, he had to admit to himself his feeling of fatherhood over her and that he really does deeply value Nemu.
This is the best fight in all of Bleach for me, Mayuri is next level genius, id love to see Mayuri vs Askin and Urahara vs Pernida
That’s exactly what I said. You can’t deny how cool and interesting those battles would have been. I imagine urahara would be just as excited facing a fragment of the soul king. Early in the arc, kubo really did give the vibe that askin and Mayuri would face off
Saw the notification. Immediately clicked. THE ANALYSIS IS FINALLY HERE. WOOOOO!!!
What this guy said ☝️
Mayuri won by letting Nemu be a fucking carcinogen? That's fucking dark science right there.
More like what else could he do?
Kinda quick thinking tho.
“Pernida’s gonna eat her then…waaaiiit, get the brain!”
He didn’t plan it but he realized it!
Nemu is the best but Mayuri is poopoo
She was my fav Bleach waifu for years, ever since she first appeared.
Cancer.... he beat pernida with cancer.....
Another cancer W shoutout MCR
I remember when this was weekly, everyone thought Mayuri was going to die. In fact it was like they almost wanted it to happen.
I think he just might have if Pernida had actually used his vollstandig form. He’s one of the few quinces we never got to see a holy form for. Even Gerard had one
@@gammafrost True . Wish he did though.
@@gammafrost Does Uryu have a vollstandig? I haven't read the Manga so I don't know what happens but I know who died
Mayuri gave pernida giga cancer
My Favorite was when Pernida said,
“Your going to need to do better then that Kurotsuchi”
Mayuri “Da Fuk did you just say? Oh no this battle can’t keep going with Pernida Continuing to Evolve especially sounding like Kenpachi now.”
Fair point . They said it was a arm of progression.
Although sad about Nemu its nice to see Mayuri get the gratitude he deserves (one of the MVPs in the war)
Unless we know for a fact that's what Pernida's powers, personality, and ability was beforehand there is no reason to make that assumption.
Science.
He evolves from absorbing and consuming organic material.
I love mayuri as a junior scientist I can appreciate his logic and/but I love that he realized he’s got actual feelings in the TYBW

Yep Best Fight, the fact it took Kenpavhi down and two from Squad Eleven were in Awe of how Nemu saved everyone was amazing
if you go back to turn back the pendulum arc you’ll find mayuri studying a book that’s titled “left arm of the soul king” on a panel it’s really foreshadowed for sure
He’s going to be so overprotective of the new nemu!
Nemu is literally best girl !
One of my favourite Bleach speeches - “There is no such thing as perfect in this world …”
Mayuri’s struggle probably comes from creating the things he utilizes.

Agreed
I agree but more cause Mayuri really had it coming
I hope the anime adaption does the fight justice
Sad.
Mayuri won the fight by giving god cancer. That tracks.
100% the best written fight in the series. This fight actually made me fall in love with Bleach.
Hmm that means the first nemu would be called nemuri ichigou?
One of my favorite fights 🙂
Also I’m dressing as ichigo for Halloween
You could say Mayuri won by himself as Nemu is standard equipment for Him btw
All the strengths that make urahara seem/look OP such as his bankai and his tools and own technical skill set is easily counterproductive against mayuri and has been since mayuri started dropping feats. The mad doctor literally has an answer for anything urahara throws out kinda like a better version of gin watching over aizen ever so closely.
Lmaoo when he pulled out a pic of homies dead grandpa fucking lost my shit back in the day 🤣
Mayuri is literally batman
Except he can do shit without prep time
This could've definitely been the best Schutzstaffel fight in the war.
I feel like he’s been putting videos out so fast but no dip in quality. Keep it up
Evil version of the master hand from Smash Bros.
Mayuri has been my favourite Captain sons his introduction and he has truly grown. Ranging from helping Uryu & Renji to showing his confidence in Ichigo's victory over Aizen to being the true MVP of the TYBW
He's the best parent in Bleach nor the most noble or. honorable Shinigami, but he's learning to be more humane just as Nemu was.
THE fight I'm waiting for in the anime.
Next month ... NEXT MONTH !!!!
Actually no💀
Honestly I really loved this battle theme cause it’s not strength vs intelligence or a battle of who is the strongest but SCIENCE VS GOD but poor Nemu didn’t deserve to die but in the end Maiyuri keeps her close to his heart and shows he does care about her
The fact that makes this dick so good is that it's Mayuri, the epitome of iteration, of progress, vs the literal left arm of the soul king, THE bastion of progress. It could only be so for Mayuri and Nemu to be pushed this far for this and it was amazing.
The real brave move in terms of narrative would've been to make Mayuri the head captain of the gotei 13
This battle really leaves a bad taste after reading. It's great, the shots, the powers, the character development, the idea of science battle, but to see such a nice character just being a creation of mad scientist, that cares for her in his twisted way is disturbing, it just ticks different boxes than battles usually do.
And again, i do like the battle, i just don't like the idea behind it
What I noticed from this fight is that it's almost similar in format to Shunsui's,
Activates Bankai, doesn't work, so the girls finish the job with their help :D
Mayuri is the ultimate support type loll. Arguably the MVP of the Final act
And this theme can have a par video of chars that shouldnt have died like stark
If there is one TYBW-fight that will get censored in the anime,it's this one.
Good analysis :)
I really hope you're wrong.
@@faizthefreethinker me too.
@@flareinc7413I don't think they will censor it after the first two cours being so bloody.
Thank you for finally covering this. I've waited for so long
Would love to possibly see a dedicated video to both Mimihagi and Pernida in the future if you haven't already
YES MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My prayer has been answered lol. I cannot WAIT to see this fight animated!
Well, about that...
I absolutely hope nothing in this fight don't get censored in the animation of cour 3
Mayuri showed up to the battle in the drip
I can not wait for this fight to be animated in core 3. Of all the fights in TYBW anime adaptation this is the one I want the most. Mayuri is my favorite captain and character in Bleach the anime can’t come back so enough.
Mayuri: I finally stepped out of your shadow Kisuke !
Kisuke: 👀
This fight made me appreciate Nemu I'm so happy he was able to retrieve her brain at least
Yea but now she's not legal 😥
@@A_Black_Sheep94 Ik hopefully this version gets treated like a person and not a punching bag
@@Mrjavonny1 Yea that's pretty bad but I'm pretty positive he made her to like it when he created her.
Hot take but I think Mayuri should’ve died in this arc…and I think Uryu should’ve been the one to do it. There should’ve been more mention of the Quincy purge and this was Mayuri having his sins catch up to him.
nah the central 46 who ordered that are more to blame than mayuri what he did isnt as bad as what they did originally and wiped alot of them out
@@sukuna716 The Central 46 deserve to die too lol. But I mean the brutality of Mayuri’s experiments e.g. what he did with Soken and he mentioned how he was one of many Quincy.
@@mra3076 yea still not as bad wiping majority of the quincies so mayuri did bad things but soul society done worse
@@sukuna716 Mayuri tortured Quincies not just kill them, he also killed his own subordinates . Don't kid yourself Mayuri is more twisted than central 46
