IM 13 AND DOKKEN IS MY FAVORTIE BAND AND I WEAR A DOKKEN HOODIE, i get it bullied for it but FUCK THEM i do what i want. My dream is to become a musician who brings back the style of 80s music
School of rock is awesome and wherever it's being taught! I was born a Metalhead in 1967... to hear young kids play music that was rare in my time as a teen ... almost no one heard or listened to such band as Dokken? I am smiling and blown away as the future of Metal/hard rock is very stable! Thanks for the school of rock
So glad you dug it! All of the teachers at the _School of Rock_ are working musicians, passing along their knowledge and passion for music to the next generation. One remarkable thing is that this whole band, except for the drummer, is young women. Apart from Lita Ford and _Girlschool,_ how many women have been in Metal and hard rock? This generation is going to shake hard rock to it's core.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 I'm three years late to the party, but I tip my hat to what you are doing. These kids did a great job and I hope they are continuing to make music.
This is a great performance, quite polished and the vocal harmonaries are very good - it's interesting to see that this, in common with many other SoR videos, is led by the girls. .... And they're doing a great job! I see this has a few more views than some SoR videos, but still only 27,026 views after three years still leaves a lot of room for improvement on YT.
That's Lauren Conner - one of the national "AllStars", the top .5% of the program. They get selected via a series of auditions then go on a multi-city tour, and eventually play festivals like Lollapalooza. Her take on Metallica's "Master of Puppets" this most recent season was awesome. By the way, last year at Summerfest she was the winner of a Shred contest: ruclips.net/video/TuouB5Yif3E/видео.html
I’ve only seen some 4-5? Gigs including the redhead guitarist. This is not her best performance(compared to the mr. crowley one!) but i need you all to understand only one thing: in music, once every couple of years comes a person that rises above the rest, goes the extra mile, outshines...she is one of those. I salute you.
That's Lauren Conner. I've added her name to a lot of the videos I've shot so people can find them. She did her final AllStars tour in 2017, and gigs with her band Serendipity while going to school.
mix6809 That's Lauren Conner, and you'll find that she has a group of fans in the comments of my videos. She just started college, but I fully expect that she has half a dozen bands on the back burner ready to roll.
Props to these youngsters for doing an 80ies classic rock song justice, that was awesome. It's also great to see a program which gives young, inspiring people the opportunity to live their dreams. The lead guitarist is just phenomenal, she does Lynch, Rhoads, Hammet, etc. like it's nothing. Can't praise that girl enough! Screw American Idol 'cause that's a real idol right there. Keep it up :)
She just auditioned for the School of Rock AllStars again, and I hope she makes it again. If she does, she'll go on national tour with a team of the very best musicians in the program.
As a 20 year old, watching this makes me feel so much better that i am not the only person in my age group that knows Dokken lol gotta love rokken with dokken!
I know what you're talkin' about, B.J....lmao...great comment. It's good to see that there are people born after 1990 who not only know this shit, but can play it!!
There are ten School of Rock locations in the Chicago area - Chicago, Chicago West, Oak Park, Evanston, Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Glen Ellyn, Arlington Heights, Highwood and Mokena. They do regular season shows three times a year, and I can pretty much guarantee that one of them will be doing a Metal or Hard Rock show in any given season. Look through my channel.
Glad to help! My wife and I are huge fans of the program, and we've seen kids grow in the program and become accomplished musicians. The amazing thing is that there are as many girls in the program as boys - it's going to change the face of rock and roll.
i have been checking some of these videos out and it is mind blowing how good these young kids are! I am so happy for them. And great to see how many young people love this kind of music
Paul Green invented the School of Rock back in 1996 (long before the Jack Black movie.) He had been teaching in the traditional one-on-one method when he decided to get some of his better students together for a jam session, and was disappointed. So he decided that they would learn as a group, and discovered that they learned far more quickly. After "Rock 101" all the kids are in a group, and the genius of the program is that the kids develop friendships in the band and practice _because their friends are depending on them._ Not all the kids become amazing musicians, but I've seen kids play things that I never would have imagined possible - like a nine year old play Eric Clapton's "Layla" or a ten year old play Television's "Marquee Moon". But what makes amazing musicians is practice, and the school provides them with a time, place, direction and band-mates to practice with. The other thing is that all of the teachers are working musicians. The lessons are after school, so they don't generally have to get up before noon. If you look through the staff pages of the different locations, you'll find familiar names from local, regional and even national bands teaching the next generation.
So this is the school of metal???? Awesome ladies and gent. I do agree with some of the others, the future of real music lies in the hands of these incredible people. As for the singer, she's got better pipes than Don Dokken. Facts are facts!!!!!!
still a great song after all these years. great to see other bands playing dokken.
Pretty awesome that these young ladies know who Dokken is and appreciates their music and they do pretty good job I'm impressed

I'm not sure, but I believe all five of the young women in this band became School of Rock AllStars, plus the drummer.
I Love it!
If I did not know better I would assume this is a full time band and all it's member's in their 20s. They are poised and polished.
Dude! The Stevenson 3 *and* Lauren Conner!?! Most excellent!
Great job. The next generation getting schooling the proper way.
the redhead girl playing the guitar is a superstar, sure we'll see a lot of her in the future

She just auditioned for the School of Rock AllStars again, and I hope she makes it again. If she does, she'll go on national tour with a team of the very best musicians in the program.
She needs to make an album so I can go buy it. ;)
And unlike Lynch, she can sing.
When they build the School of Rock Hall of Fame Lauren will be in the inaugural class along with Leah Stevenson
These might be the only people under 35 who know who Dokken is.
I'm only ten years old and always sung this song in school
As a 20 year old, watching this makes me feel so much better that i am not the only person in my age group that knows Dokken lol gotta love rokken with dokken!

Very cool! Rokken With Dokken! 🤘🏻🎶🎸🎸
great singer
She is great, but we don't really get to hear how great until the outro, where she lets loose.
How did they get John Myung to play bass? ;)
Lauren Conner is a future rock goddess! 👍

The young lady with the red hair is Lauren Conner and I have many videos of her playing Metal.
Fucking cool!
hear only one 🎸😊
They're Killing one of the best songs of Dokken! My heart's crying!
Good cover. Would be better if the drummer would bump up the energy substantially.
R'n'b vocals on a hard rock Dokken song really spoils it. Drummer too. Guitarist though has potential.
Real Bad.
The vocalist needs to go back to school.
Stick with a metal kids stay away from that rap crap
Sounded really bad but nice try lol
Cringe
Very cool! Rokken With Dokken! 🤘🏻🎶🎸🎸
