Absolutely brilliant Dave! Stunning conversion with great skill and thought employed. Thank you so much for sharing so much. Im on the look out for a Vivaro to convert and came across your videos and Im so glad I did. I tackle most things about the house and garden but a conversion is daunting, so I'm going to give it a try with the help of your videos. Thank you again and keep your videos coming please.
Hi James, thanks for getting in touch, youtube is better for me because ebay will not let me give a phone number or email address. I can make the bed for you but I will need some dimensions of your van so I can make it a good fit. If you could call me it will be much easier to explain the dimensions I need. My number is 0 I'll be around after 5.00 tomorrow. Thanks Dave.
Awesome! I am from eastern Europe and I appreciate a lot your entire work, not only this conversion. You are from my point of view the best in this kind of build. I wish you health to can go further.Your videos are special for me, I enjoy watching them.Thank you for this!
Thanks a lot, I put some awning rail on the roof which has some eye bolts in it and the tarp just attaches to the eyes with hooks. Its a dead simple set up.
Hi Noel, Thanks a lot. I had this van insured just as a panel van as there are no actual modifications to the van itself. And a small weekend van like this is difficult to get registered with DVLA as a camper because there are not enough windows in it to meet their criteria. So it's just under normal van cover.
Lovely van Dave, especially love the kitchen cabinet! If I ever go with a rock and roll bed again I think that a large drawer on runners would be very handy underneath, or was there a reason why you didn't do this? Plus, is the awning on this van totally detached or is it a wind in type? Great video as always.
Hi Chris, Thanks a lot. I went for the bungee cord look in this van and I did not want to make the seat too heavy so i skipped the door on the front of it. The awning is just a simple tarp that hooks onto the top of the van.
Very nice Dave. But surprised you still haven't mentioned that it's not suitable for travelling on r&r bed. Thought you said you were going to mention it on your video Even with safety belts. It isn't safe enough
Thanks David, I am going to do a rock and roll bed update video, but that was not this one. It's definitely not a passenger carrying seat and I would not consider putting belts on it. But as a rock and roll camper van bed it is totally safe. Thanks for watching.
Hello Dave, I noticed on a previous video that when you stuck the carpet to the van you only sprayed the metal and not the carpet as well. Am I correct in saying that and if I am does it hold okay just spraying the glue to the metal only. Regards.
Why did you decide to cut the windows in the back doors? I'm currently planning to add one to the drivers side in my lwb vivaro, but can't make up my mind whether to get 2 in the back or not
Hi, Thanks for watching. I put the two back door windows in for a couple of reasons, they give more light towards the back of the van and I get better visibility when reversing.
@@dave-watson Thank you for the reply Dave! Why did you fit the leisure battery and the split charger under the passenger seat? Currently trying to find a space for them but don't want to loose any space under the passenger seats. Have you thought about fitting electrics under the drivers seat? Found a factory 40amp cable there that goes straight from the starter battery, would be an ideal spot! That cable has a 50amp fuse too. (Might drop in here with a couple more questions as I progress, hopefully your knowledge helps some other people too!) Thank you
Thanks Archie, I put the leisure battery and stuff under the passenger seat because I could get access to it from the top because the seats pull out. It saved having to make a separate cabinet for it all in the van. The drivers seat was a bit more tricky to get under and mine has the tyre jack under there. Good luck with you conversion.
Fantastic build, looks perfect for getting away out and about. You're a craftsman 😃
Thanks very much, it's great for weekends away in the hills and I'm real happy with the way it turned out.
Love your builds Dave very thoughtful and professional keep them coming.
Thanks Peter, the next van is in the planning stage now.
Excellent!!!👍
Thanks very much

Love this! We have a SWB vivaro and are looking for a simple awning. How have you attached the tarp to the roof? Looks amazing 🤩

Nice work Dave. I’ve got a 2007 Trafic. Do you think a conversion is worth it considering it’s a SWB and I’ll lose a lot of space ? Cheers
Thanks a lot, I had a SWB Vivaro and I converted it and it worked out okay, it's all down to the planning.
Many thanks
Awesome build Dave if I had the money I’d be first in the line to buy it 👍
Thanks a lot, I'm real happy with how this one turned out.
Love it, I’d love to know the total cost for that layout, I really like that one
I have the costs somewhere but off the top of my head I think it was about 4.5K.
Lovely van Dave ,can i ask what insurance company you recommend for a conversion like this

Hi, The spay adhesive has to be on both surfaces, I must have edited that out of the other video. Thanks for watching

Take me on holiday 🤣
