Gotta love the moment when your're stressing out for your biology final and then you find yourself snickering because of the facial expression on a macrophage.
Obese Chicken I remember when I was a kid, I didn't want to go to school so I pretended to be sick, then I actually ended up with a fever. Placebo effects are weird
The animations are so cute and lovely (even though the actual antigens are typically jerks-to-humans), the content so educational, and the fact that this is the penultimate episode is so upsetting. Long live crashcourse!
You guys are amazing. I am in nursing school, and this is my distance learning assignment. I don't think learning about anything has been this interesting ever. Love the World of Warcraft and gaming references. Nerds rule! Thank you!
It's pretty funny how I, a 3rd year biomed student, learn 1 or 2 things in these episodes that I didn't learn from my immunology prof. Good job Crash Course, good job.
Thank you so much for making these amazing videos. I used to watch these when I was taking A&P in undergrad. Now, I rewatch them as a refresher course for Advanced Pathophysiology. Still helpful as ever!
Who else wishes there could be some kind of cartoon animation series telling the heroic stories of our bodies' cells battles with germs? These animations are toooooooooooooo cool!!
I am in the library watching this and could not stop smiling :) People around me must think I am procrastinating! Love the animation and how you explain things. Makes learning so much more fun! Thanks heaps.
+BRockandriffs Nope I do it for the exact same reasons. These videos help me understand, well, a lot of stuff;, and enable me to go onto some much more serious websites with a solid amount of knowledge.
+Aroused Squirrel could you name me some of those "serious websites" you mentioned for my personal reference if that's not too big a favor to ask a stranger.
I have watched dozens of Crash Course videos for the past year. Everything from chemistry psychology and anatomy and physiology. This three-part series on immunity is by far the best. Hysterical and easy to understand thanks for you guys it's time for making memes.
Hello! Right now Im studying for Pharmacological Chemistry and for my 16 years old sometimes i really struggle while trying to remember things but this channel is so amazing!! the animations make everything so easily going that i just enjoy watching all your videos, definitely i will recommend this channel to my classmates!.
4:32 Actually not entirely accurate. Activation by T-independent antigens is weaker and does not result (usually) in immunologic memory (in contrast to T-dependent antigens which gives a stronger response, resulting in the development of immunologic memory). But I guess they wanted to keep it simple.
Excellent series! I wish you had a slow motion button so I could slowly absorb all you are saying. I guess just replay over and over works and appreciate this info SO much!
+Sulthan14 I think he got the concept of your joke (the word play between humerus and humorous) but he was merely correcting your error. You should have said "My humoral system only protects my upperarm, right? Man I'm humerus today."
Wow ... this is the best system Crash Course has covered. VERY easy to comprehend considering how complex the immune system can be. I just emailed this to my anatomy professor. Well done, please keep these kind of videos coming!!
Crash Course should make movie of fighting germs in our bodies. It would be very interesting and knowledge that everyone need to know about our body fighting system.
my exam is tomorrow and these videos came extremely helpful i'm really in love with this channel everything is well made the animation is fun it keeps me entertained it would had been better if you had mentionned cytokines but it's not a big deal, please guys keep up the good work
So important to understand that our adaptive system is also a communicator of an underlying cause. Understanding this gives greater opportunity to a solution and not just a management often refer to as “treatment” ... leaving treatments for those important opportunities of stabilization with further opportunities of health 😌
thank you guys for this. Thank God for this youtube channel. this has helped me tremendously prepare for my advanced pathophysiology class! you guys make dense information sound so fun!
Gentlemen, take particular note... Just a warning that mumps immunity can be lost. I am a medical student nearly 50 years old and as part of preparation for placements in the clinical setting we need to be fully immunised... blood test revealed have lost my mumps immunity since having mumps as a child.
Excellent videos!, but I recommend setting the speed to 0.5. Those wonderful animations are very informative and simple. It will get you an A+ in your subject for sure!
can you please make an episode about vaccines, their advantages and disadvantages .. and give a general idea about the myths like "vaccines cause autism" and so ..!! :D
Not a "myth" anymore. On August 27, 2015 dr. William Thompson who is a senior scientist and epidemiologist at the CDC through a whistleblower attorney released documents stating that the cdc lied about the connection between the MMR vaccine and autism in their 2004 article in the Journal Pediatrics. Check it out!
+Enfant Terrible That really, really small chance of getting autism with vaccines against that really big chance of getting polio without them. I think ill choose for the option that won''t kill me.
+Enfant Terrible Cool. But I prefer my sources over yours. scienceblogs.com/insolence/2015/08/05/the-cdc-whistleblower-william-thompson-appears-to-have-gone-full-antivaccine/
So cool. Like ur cells fighting ebola and dont know how to defeat it so they are trying to destroy it. Then a cell that survived ebola, tells them the hacks and how to beat ebola.
Hank, where is the video on the mammary glands? I thought that they would be covered as part of the reproductive system videos but they are barely mentioned. Why is a defining feature of mammals largely absent from a course on human anatomy and physiology? I can think of reasons but I would prefer to hear your explanation on the matter.

Lol, you probably aced it. I watched this after class and within 20 minutes I was like "IT ALL CLICKS!!!"
The animations just make everything very clear and bearable to observe the info much easier.
Yeah, i love the production quality in these vids

I'm #667 like♡.....couldn't leave it 666!!!
2:46 and 2:51
the transition from "finally going to beat the level" to "(inexpressible emotion, you know the one)" was great
Infographic animations about anything scientific are my porn
I'm really sick right now so I'm watching this somewhat for me, but I'm tryna teach my immune system to work correctly.
I don't think it works that way...
+KarascioM Im like 752% sure it does
+Peter Tilly Worse comes to worse, at least you know your sickness looks adorable at the microscopic level.
+xXx Fioletowy i długi banan który przemierza Redtu-, znaczy, RUclips z Planety Teletubisiów xXx woosh
Obese Chicken I remember when I was a kid, I didn't want to go to school so I pretended to be sick, then I actually ended up with a fever. Placebo effects are weird
Watching this during COVID-19....interesting things to think about during these times.
This man has taught me more about the immune system in ten minutes than my professor at a T20 school could in three lectures.
I'm so glad Hank has a kid. I bet his wife is super cool, too. Everyone at crash course must be pretty damn awesome. Thank you all.
Can T-shirts be made featuring the adorable defense cells please.
THIS THO!!!!! ^^^^ i want a neutrophil shirt so bad
plsssssssssss
Yessss I would love a neutrophil and macrophage and red blood cel tshirt
i call shotgun on the cell at 5:11
T Cell T Shirts
now i want a plushie of all the different immune cells... they are so cute!
Meee too.
Ikr
Studying with animation is the best
Price Chinedum if I could thumbs-up this 100 times I would

The animations are so cute and lovely (even though the actual antigens are typically jerks-to-humans), the content so educational, and the fact that this is the penultimate episode is so upsetting. Long live crashcourse!

This is easily the best video you've guys and girls have done graphically. I'll never forget memory cells looking like wizards lol
Oh my god, he used a Maplestory animation. I never thought I'd see the day. Gj man.
1075Rah same! I miss MS!
i logged back in and it wasnt the same. it gave me anxiety just looking for whatever i need. Its not the same. -_-
hahahah i'm shocked when i saw orange mushroom, and i was like "did he plays maplestory too?'
El Fatimah lol
Bio Exam is tomorrow, was literally waiting for a week. Thanks Hank :)
+SBroproductions Are you in my Bio class? o.O hahaha
RudaBuddhaGaming Jill Ranger, Charlie, Ursala? Do those names sound familiar?
Yes! Who's your teacher?!
RudaBuddhaGaming Jill Ranger. You?
+RudaBuddhaGaming Good luck you two :)
Why is everything so darn cute? XD
especially Hank lol
ikr😃😊
Sierra Lobo idk but it’s adorable
maplestory look it up green jelly and mushroom characters are in it its a mmorpg
probably because sometimes it's way more boring in real life lol
It's pretty funny how I, a 3rd year biomed student, learn 1 or 2 things in these episodes that I didn't learn from my immunology prof. Good job Crash Course, good job.
I had no idea what my prof was talking about when they explained this in class. This helped me so much! May actually pass my midterm now!
Thank you so much for making these amazing videos. I used to watch these when I was taking A&P in undergrad. Now, I rewatch them as a refresher course for Advanced Pathophysiology. Still helpful as ever!
I passed my physiology exam, thanks to this dude !!!
MAKE A GAME OF THIS PLEASEEEEEE
Who else wishes there could be some kind of cartoon animation series telling the heroic stories of our bodies' cells battles with germs? These animations are toooooooooooooo cool!!
I am in the library watching this and could not stop smiling :) People around me must think I am procrastinating! Love the animation and how you explain things. Makes learning so much more fun! Thanks heaps.
Am I the only one that watches these for fun and personal use rather than for a class? Just curious
+BRockandriffs I do as well! Plus the animations are AWESOME!
+BRockandriffs No, you are not the only one.
+BRockandriffs im sure most ppl watch for fun, i dont think most classes go this far in A&P anyway, they usually stop right before reproduction
Animation was so cute, so accurate and Hank is so charming... LOL
I always 'like' these videos before even starting 😙
I have watched dozens of Crash Course videos for the past year. Everything from chemistry psychology and anatomy and physiology. This three-part series on immunity is by far the best. Hysterical and easy to understand thanks for you guys it's time for making memes.
These animations are so good and helpful.

Wow, you make it so easy to understand this complex system. Thank you for saving my grades.
Whoever did the animations for this immune system series has TAKEN IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL @_@
4:32 Actually not entirely accurate. Activation by T-independent antigens is weaker and does not result (usually) in immunologic memory (in contrast to T-dependent antigens
which gives a stronger response, resulting in the development of immunologic memory).
But I guess they wanted to keep it simple.
Yeah I wanted to hear more about T-cells
Excellent series! I wish you had a slow motion button so I could slowly absorb all you are saying. I guess just replay over and over works and appreciate this info SO much!
Im a simple man, i see Maplestory reference, i like the video.
lol
Watching crash course is THE best way to learn !!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Hey, happy studies, from a future rad tech here!
Well hello
Almost a year later lol but hey 😊

You make these painfully boring textbook readings so easy to listen to and retain! Thank you!!
My humoral system only protects my forearm, right?
Man I'm humerus today.
Jejejeje
humorus is the upperarm bro
+James Fidge Did you hear that? That was my joke flying over your head.
+Sulthan14 I think he got the concept of your joke (the word play between humerus and humorous) but he was merely correcting your error. You should have said "My humoral system only protects my upperarm, right? Man I'm humerus today."
+Sulthan14 What's the joke? Don't you know some people have broken their humerus before?
CRASH COURSE IS A LIFE SAVER!!!!
Gonna miss this series, I learned a lot. Thanks so much for all you do Crash Course.

Awesome! I didn't know anyone remembered that game :D
So important to understand that our adaptive system is also a communicator of an underlying cause. NO I CANT WAIT :(
This is so cool
I have to say, i have been struggling with this for 2 days, this video made so much sense. Thank you so much!
Gentlemen, take particular note... Just a warning that mumps immunity can be lost. I am a medical student nearly 50 years old and as part of preparation for placements in the clinical setting we need to be fully immunised... blood test revealed have lost my mumps immunity since having mumps as a child.
The person who creates these illustrations is amazing
"And that's why vaccinations are pretty much the greatest thing ever"
Anti-Vaxxers: *surprised Pikachu face*

Those bacteria that got captured by antibodies were so done with the immune system...its like they were saying "Seriously? Again?"
Thanks man you're helping me get through medical school :')
Lol maple story! That was a game I played a lot once upon a time 😝
3:00 WHY'D HE KILL THE FRIENDLY MUSHROOM?!?!?!?!!? (I will never smile until I see another one of those cells that's JUST AS CUTE)
can you please make an episode about vaccines, their advantages and disadvantages .. and give a general idea about the myths like "vaccines cause autism" and so ..!! :D

Joël Van Rijn exactly!!! thankyou! :D

scienceblogs.com/insolence/2015/08/05/the-cdc-whistleblower-william-thompson-appears-to-have-gone-full-antivaccine/
+Enfant Terrible Wait. I can't believe that there actually *are* people who still think that Vaccines cause Autism. How shallow must you be.
This is seriously so helpful to gain a better understanding then just from the book. You are amazing at this thanks so much for making Micro fun.
watching cells at work while playing maplestory m...didn't expect the animation to do a tribute to maple ....XD
I love cells at work
i have my immunology test tomorrow and it's incredibly helpful
So cool. Like ur cells fighting ebola and dont know how to defeat it so they are trying to destroy it. Then a cell that survived ebola, tells them the hacks and how to beat ebola.
I swear these videos helped maintain my A in A&P!!! Thank you!!!
Man I love these series! I learn so much from these videos, thanks Crash Course for the amazing teaching!
THANKS FOR HELPING UNDERSTAND WHATS GOING ON IN MY DAUGHTERS SWOLLEN LYMPH NODES
I require plushies of the immune system cells. Immediately.
