Hot in Ohio and rain just makes it humid!
Yep! Same here. Also when I recorded this we were getting rain, now we are in a dry spell
I love my slow cookers, yes, plural!!! I use mine all year long and especially in the summer months for the reasons you stated! I have never made meat loaf in one and honestly can't wait to try it now, the foil wrap I think was the star to make it perfect and the clean up would be quicker as well right!! The weather here in Canada is perfect, not too hot, thanks for sharing!
You're so welcome! We are always a multiple crock pot household.
You can cut the pita bread in half and open it up to put your chicken in. That way it doesn’t seem like there is too much bread.
I’m glad you mentioned that…I meant to say it in my above comment, but as usual, I forgot!😮😂😂😂
Such a good idea!! I didn't even think of that
I live in the UP and our weather can be all over the place, but I do not view my crockpot as a certain weather type of appliance, I use mine all year long for convenience. Some days I throw things straight into the crockpot and others I freeze ahead of time and then throw them in on the morning of. It helps to keep us eating at home when things are ready to go or I can just press the easy button on the day that I have no energy or imagination.
I totally agree. I love having things ready for those really busy days, or days when I just don't feel like cooking.
Interesting to make meatloaf in the crockpot! One thing my mom did in summer was make meatloaf up and then form patties and have dad grill them. Easy and no heating the oven!
I'm in Nebraska and it has been unusually cool in the 80's and not as humid! We are having rain which is much appreciated especially by our farmers!
Oh I bet that is so helpful right now!
Same here in ks. Heat wave coming again but it has been an amazing summer. Praise God for the rain.
Absolutely!!
A restaurant I worked at we used to put hot honey on ice cream vanilla. Also, it went on the sour cherry bread pudding that had a Mexican chocolate drizzle and then the vanilla ice cream with the hot honey on top. It was amazing but we made our own hot honey with Gochujang and honey.
Um... I need all of those things now. I want to try them!
Its 60 - 68F here in Glasgow, a bit clammy and we've been having lots of rain. Typical Scottish weather, we had a nice spell in May where it reached about 77F, then it was gone and we're back to the misty, wet horrible summers we usually have. With regards to your crushed eggshells, I add banana skins and used coffee grounds, put them all in a blender and add some water. Mix to make a slurry and pour it rould the soil on your plants outside but especially indoors, its a great fertilizer. (potassium, calcium and nitrogen).
Ok I am definitely going to start doing this!
I’m in central Florida. We are in broiler mode!🤣❤️
We're in Central FL too (Winter Garden) and miserable!!!! 🥵
Same here in southeast Texas. 🥵
I am in the northern part of North Carolina and we had a scorcher today. Upper 90s. Possibly some storms tomorrow.
I grew up in Central Florida. I totally get it!
We are in NC and this week is going to be hot!
Now that is GENIUS to bag meals for trips! We already always carry a cooler with ice. Girl, you have just made our family vacations much easier!😊
OH absolutely! Quite honestly when we go out to eat a lot now, we are disappointed, so I would almost rather eat at home unless we know it's a place we love.
We do crushed saltines instead of breadcrumbs or soaked bread! It’s delicious! 👍🏼
Great tip!
We are empty nesters now and we love meatloaf sandwiches. We will make 1/2 a loaf just for that. Yes we use the crock pot. We like the "back of the box" recipe from Quaker Oats.
That is a great suggestion! Meatloaf sandwiches on day 2 next time!
These look delicious! For meatloaf, I use Hunts Meatloaf Sauce, and I grate a small onion with my cheese grater to add to it. It adds moisture, and flavor so you don’t have any chunks of onion that might not get completely soft during cooking. The weather here in Alabama is miserable. The heat index was 105° today.
Me but haven’t been able to find it lately i I same my onions and green pepper fine dice
I've never even seen that meatloaf sauce before!!
@@FeedingtheByrds it’s with all of the other canned tomato products. It’s really good!
I will have to check it out!
I never heard of Meatloaf Sauce. I didn’t know it existed.
These look great! Especially the hot honey chicken and the meatloaf! I love the idea of using the crockpot for meatloaf! Yours looks delicious 😊 I’m in the Foothills of Western NC and it is hot and super humid! I hope you enjoy your time in the mountains! The view is gorgeous! 🌻💕
It was absolutely beautiful and the weather was amazing!! Such a nice little break
It's 105 where I live in TX. At this point, the 90s would feel like a cool front!
Wow!
I live in California and it's 95 degrees and using a crockpot is fantastic idea
YES!
We are experiencing Fall weather here in the Adirondacks NY. Been experiencing this Fall for weeks. Very few Summer days here this year. I LOVE it but it’s not good really. Lol!❤
I love summer! You can take the girl out of Florida but you can't take Florida out of the girl.
Once I found out you could cook a meatloaf in the slow cooker, that is litterally the only way I make it. Haven't used my oven or stove in 3 yrs. (because i use my slow cooker and instant pot, and a forman grill) My stove is litterally just an extention of my countertop🤣🤣. And no matter what your recipe is for meatloaf, it turns out perfect everytime in the crockpot!!!
I can't imagine going back now. It's so good in the crock pot!
I need to bring out my slow cooker. We're in a severe drought in Houston, TX. Actual temp today is 103° 🥵
Wow. Thats crazy!
I so enjoy crockpot recipes ❤🎉 thanks your time and putting these together 🙏🌻❤️
You are so welcome!
Awesome recipes, thanks Amber 🙏🏻👍🙏🏻👍🙏🏻
You are so welcome! Have a great week.
I have always wanted to try and make a meatloaf in the crockpot. Thanks for the video showing how you do it. I really love the sauce you made to put over the top. It all looks delicious. Hope your trip to the mountains was restful. The scenery was beautiful.
It's so easy in the crockpot and it was delicious!
Yes, the view was amazing.
Love the meatloaf idea!!
So good!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes with us. They all looked delicious!! I make my meatloaf with onions and mushrooms with brown gravy. Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday.
Oh yum!! That sounds delicious
We'll take that rain down here in Gonzales, TX! Lol! That hot honey chicken looks so delicious, I'm going to do this one this coming week!
Hope you enjoy! Add some coleslaw or maybe maybe a ranch or blue cheese for it and you have a winner for sure.
We're having a heat wave here in Seattle. That mountain view is stunning! I'll be making that meatloaf in my crock pot! I never knew you could, I love it! Have a blessed week, TFS.🙏🏻❤
It was so delicious and so easy!
Thank you for sharing! It’s been in the 100s here in NM for the entire summer so far. Looking forward to the heat ending in October-ish!
I love summer, but I have to say that I also enjoy October.
Thank you hon!!! I'm envious of your mountain vacation. We are melting in the Orlando area, where we continue to be under an excessive heat warning 🥵. These are great recipes- will definitely be making these. Today I prepped a mississippi roast for dinner, searing it first in the Ninja Foodi Pro multi cooker, then switching it over to crockpot setting.
I love a Mississippi pot roast!! I grew up in central Florida so I totally get the heat
Thank you for posting these recipes! Can’t wait to try them all. I’m very envious of your vacation spot. Haven’t had a vacation since 2014. Here in our south Texas oven it was 107 with a heat index of 111. God bless!!!
Oh wow!! That's what most people from Texas are saying.
This is my first time on your channel and thank you for this video. It's good sense to use a crock pot in the heat.
I am so glad you found this helpful!
Everything looks good. I’ll have to give them a try. Thanks. I’m from NC too.
YAY for NC people!
Can’t wait to make the crockpot meatloaf!!
It's so easy!
Definitely going to try meatloaf in the crockpot!
I think we will make it this way from now on
I put meatloaf in the crockpot along with foil wrapped potatoes--amazing!
Yes!! Great tip
I'm in Oklahoma need I say more! Been hot but rain which is strange.and I'm thankful for that
Yes definitely!
Im in Az and in our Monsoon season…and we have not had a lick of rain….and we need it so bad! And it’s HOT! Love the meatloaf in the crockpot! I usually grate zucchini and chop spinach in mine for added veggies, oh and I always grate the onion just like my Gram did.
What a good idea!!!! I hadn't even thought about that
Rain and sunshine
I like that!
Great set of recipes. Ive been hungry for a meatloaf! Great idea. I always enjoy your videos.
God bless all here.
Try it in the crockpot! SO easy!
I love my crockpot ❤
Me too!
The meatloaf looks great! One thing I do often is use a pound of ground beef and a pound of ground pork. It’s super good!
It's absolutely delicious like that!! I totally agree.
am crockpot lover good to find you friend. It has been so hot to use oven. Thanks.
So glad you found me!
Yes I never make meatloaf the same every time lol. Sometimes it's a bbq meatloaf, sometimes it has gravy and then one time I made a jerk meatloaf. Love meatloaf ❤
YEP! Change it up. Keep them guessing. 😆😂
110° yesterday and going to be just as hot today. 🔥 🥵 Please send us your rain, lol!
Love your recipes ❤
Oh my goodness!!!!
I just tried meatloaf in the crockpot for the first time, and we loved it! Yay! I hope those egg shells make that garden even better!😊
Isn't it so easy and good!? We loved it that way.
Cloudy and 77 degrees here in KY today. Low 80s the rest of this week. Temps in the 90s next week.
KY was beautiful when we were there a few weeks ago.
Hi Amber. I'm seeing this video a little late, but we had lots of rain when u were having it. I live next to Asheville {old fort}. I thought it was never going to stop raining. Now that the sun has been shining it's so hot, I may have to ask the Lord for some rain to cool things off. 😁 Thanks for all the great recipes. U should have seen me perk up when u said balsamic chicken. Girl I could drink that stuff. 😂 Have a great week!!
You are so welcome, you will definitely love that recipe if you love balsamic.
This is what I was looking for! I’m in California where it’s supposed to be 90 today but this weekend temp is predicted at about 105..we just had 4 days of heavy rain with flooding in quite a few areas…thankfully not mine..it’s thighs all the way, baby!!! I surprisingly have the Balsamic glaze so this another way to use it,Thanks!
WHEW!!! That's a scorcher!
And yes, we are a fan of thighs here too.
Amber, I made the Hot Honey Chicken, It's terrific!! I baked the thighs
I definitely need to try this one again with thighs.
All these dishes look delicious it is so hot here it has been triple digits, but we are in Texas as well school starts this week for us.
Whew. Goodness!
I have done meatloaf and taters in my insta pot and it turned out really good, I was surprised
You must have come to my neck of the woods! Waynesville NC, we love our mountains!
I love these ideas cause we are going to the beach next month and with our big family thats what we need! 5 kids , 3 are married and we have 3 grandbabies!
We are actually heading to the mountains again and I made all of our food Head of time again! It's just so worth it to not have to worry about it once you're there.
I love balsamic vinegar.
Me too!
It is hot here in Central Florida. Today it was 99 but, felt like it was 105-115. I go outside to just water a few plants and go back in feeling like i went through the water hose. Gonna try that meatloaf in my crock pot.
I grew up in central Florida. I remember it well! 🥵. But I actually prefer the heat to winter.
Weather in Southern Indiana is mid to upper 80's. Not too bad. I make meatloaf in our crockpot most of the time. 😋❤️
It's so good!
Love your channel. We live in the Houston metro area and desperately need some of the rain you're getting. It's very hot here. I would love to see some cold meal ideas.
When I filmed this we were getting tons of rain, now apparently it's a dry spell. Who can keep up with this crazy weather?
cool
Campari tomatoes are the only tomatoes I'll buy from the store. They're very good if you can't get home grown. It's 115 degree heat index here.
They are delicious!
If you cut those pitas in half, you’ll get pita pockets. I typically throw them in a toaster to heat them through
Such a great tip!
I am in Texas. So far e have had no rain and over 105 degrees everyday straight, ( 26 days ). I would love to have some rain. I do enjoy your videos and things for sharing.
When I filmed this we were getting tons of rain. Apparently now we are in a dry spell. Who can keep up with this craziness?
I have made meatloaf in the crockpot many times I like to put baby carrots around it and baby potatoes that I cut in half
Such a good idea!;
Well- I am Phoenix… so we are definitely in the hot season. We never really had our typical Monsoon season in June and now we are getting some rain and cooler temps for the next 3 days.
Today is supposed to be high 90’s. All week it has been around 110°.
Oh wow!
It's in the upper 90s and super humid. We've been having a lot of rain and thunder storms for the past few weeks. My weed (😂not the smokable) garden is flourishing
😂😂. We've been actually having to mow every 5 days or so.
Totally agree Chicken breast does dry out.
Chicken thighs are juicier 🙂
We are thighs fans here!
We are 4 miles from the beach so it's usually very nice here, AR least 20 degrees cooler than other parts of Southern California
Oh that's really nice!
I have to be super careful of carbs and gluten, so i make the hot honey chicken in the crock pot and top it on a salad. Especially with the dressing being the juices. Makes for an easy, summer dinner. It has been a cooler summer here in Boston. So only low 80's here today. My Lupus appreciates the rain and not the direct sunshine.
That's a great idea!! It would be great on salad
I live in the Southern California desert, we have anywhere from 120 degrees in summer and can get snow in winter. Last week was 112 and this week has been low 90s with thunderstorms around s and maybe a couple drops of rain at my home ! Today just 10miles down the road was a huge thunderstorm we had and could smell the rain hear thunder but sun was shining bright for us !!!
Wow!!! That's crazy
@@FeedingtheByrds It is the extreme here !! We just made it through hurricane Hilary (tropical storm/depression) yesterday and an earthquake with very little damage from either!! But we don’t experience very much humidity here.I do like that 💕 .
80 yesterday and 50 today East Coast. Crazy weather here, always.
Here too!
I love oats in mine too
So good!
Looks all so delicious. I'm not a fan of meatloaf. I'm definitely going to try the hot honey chicken
You should! It just needs a little coleslaw or dressing!
The sauce for the meatloaf you could have just used a ziploc bag, that would save even more space!
Absolutely!!
I am in Cincinnati and we are getting rain today. Yea, we had about an hour of rain 3 days ago, but we have only had rain a few days so far all summer.
Wow!
Campari tomatoes usually have the best flavors!
They are delicious!
You could be in Austin… it’s been triple digit for the last 49 days. Today is 105. It is impossible to be out here too. Be glad you’re blest to be there.
Oh my goodness!
We’re usually in the high 80s low 90s herein southern Indiana
That's my kind of weather!
Texas here, super hot! ☀️We need rain!
That's what I've been hearing.
We would love some rain. It has not rained here since May 2, and the temps go from 90 to 106 degrees. It is so dry here in central Calif.
Oh my goodness! That's a really long time
I live in middle Georgia and it's muggy and hot. We have had some crazy thunderstorms in the last week or two. They just pop up. Hope your staying cool.
That's how it's been here. These crazy random storms!
104-106° all this week. Very dry and hot. I’m praying for rain and cooler temps for sure
Oh wow!
I live in Orlando area, it is summer, it is Florida... just sweating down here!
I get it! I grew up in central Florida. There's nothing like it.
I can't wait to make the Hot Honey Chicken! I live in Georgia and it has been so humid it's felt like over 110. The air is so thick it's been disgusting! The rain hasn't helped. Amber, I have a question. If I use thighs, How long do you suggest? All my chicken in the crockpot has come out dry. I do not over cook, I take them out as soon as there done, 3 hours on Low All the recipes from you have turned out Perfect.
Honestly I think you can cook the thighs the same amount. If anything it's maybe 30 min longer in the CP. But when I use them, I typically don't adjust the time.
I'm so glad you have found some winners here!!
My husband always gives me a hard time for how much i pack, the cooler, the crockpot, the aur fryer 😂
Gotta fit as much as possible!
Arizona 110 degrees
WOW!
Have you ever tried using cambales tomato soup ,I put a little in the meat loafe and the rest goes on the top .
I haven't!!
❤
I'm in San Clemente, Ca and the temp at 3pm today is 73 with a lot of humidity at the beach here, and overcast, but nice. Melaney from SoCal
Oh wow! That actually sounds really nice.
We are in a cool front now. it's a cool 74...supposed to rain tonight...64 hi for tomorrow. Btw it's central Minnesota for reference.
Whoa!!! What a huge difference from some of the other comments.
I know right 😮
Low 70’s at night and low 90’s during the day.
Same here
That's about what it's been this week here
No Rain here in Austin TX 101 to 106 is the high
yikes!!
In North Dakota it's four-thirty in the morning and it's 62 above
oh wow!
We are under a burn ban because of the heat. It been over 100 every day for all week. We are getting break Saturday. The high is 98. Thursday is supposed to be 107 actual degrees. The heat index is always 10 degrees warmer. I'm in Louisiana
🔥😰
It’s super hot here in Texas and I mean hot. We have heat warnings out just about every day it gets up into the high 90s where some days is triple digits and it stays that way end it is what September would you like it to start cooling off maybe in September early October maybe November if we’re lucky but that’s just Texas weather it’s what it is you’re here but I get what you’re saying about the crockpot I do I use mine are like you’re in the summer more than I ever used to that is for sure
104° at 3:00 PM here in Southeast Texas.
Wow!
If you cut the pita breads in half and open each half, they actually make a pocket to fill! Not as much bread, so it won't seem as dry.
That is such a good idea!
🇮🇹ROCHESTER, NEW YORK🇺🇸 lots of rain 💦. Temperature fluctuates up & down ⬆️ ⬇️. So far I haven’t had to use the A/C. 🥴
Wow! That's definitely different from here.
We are averaging 108 during the day and nights are in the mid 90's😮... Texas weather!!!😏
Oh my goodness!!!
Just got back from the mountains and I did the same. I prefer making my own food the majority of the time on vacay. Too much restaurant food makes my gut weird and is expensive!
Couldn't agree more.
We’re in the Corpus Christi area and have given up that it will ever be cool again. Today’s heat index was 121 😮
Oh. My. Goodness!!!!
This is great ! Love you videos !!
HOT HOT Hot - NO RAIN since May ! Austin , Texas area 107* expected today! 40 days of over 100* heat! We are roasting ! Lol
Please send us some of your rain ! 😵💫❤️
That's insane. Someone else said they haven't had rain since May 2!
The heat is brutal here today in North Carolina
That's where we are too!
Enjoyed your recipes. I will make some this week. Can you please link your Cucumber Salad recipe? It is 95 degrees here. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Sure!
feedingthebyrds.com/tomato-cucumber-salad
It was 103 degrees here today and it’s 90 degrees at 10:52 PM. Extremely hot and humid.
YIKES!
San antonio, tx no rain. 106 today
oh. my. goodness....
