- PlayStation has been very busy with 3rd Party games and Xbox games but many of the fanbase is frustrated at how quiet about their first-party titles PlayStation has been. We know they are there - they just don't talk about them. Will the PlayStation Showcase break this silence, or will we still be left wondering?

They might announce a new studio and what they have been working on. Jason Blundells studio. They shut down deviation in march but retained most of the talent

I Believe it is the same project they were working on at deviation since 2020. It might be time to show.

Idk this month is almost over. I feel like if they had something to announce showcase wise they would have done that by now. Still a few days left in May but I’m not holding my breath.
They could announce it this weekend or the beginning of next week. For the past few years, they have announced events literally days before they happen.
@@kevinkijowski5980 True they have done that before so here’s hoping. If not this month I definitely expect one next month perhaps before the Xbox showcase

I think there is some potential announcments that could be good
I just want to see games.
If I were Sony, I would go with a State of Play right now, focusing on titles coming this year: Asobi's next Astro related project, Concord, Until Dawn Remake, Silent Hill 2 remake, 3rd party titles...
Then I would have a showcase ready to unveil the PS5 around September, with the projects sheduled for 2025 (Ghost of Tsushima 2, Death Stranding 2, Blupoint God of War spinoff, The Venom DLC...), and possibly a teaser or two for what should be ready by 2026 (Wolverine anyone?).
Phantom Blade will be the hottest topic once the demo hits, finally an exclusive utilizing Unreal Engine 5. I'm most hyped for Silent Hill, regardless of the negative feedback. Survival Horror is barely surviving. Lost Soul looks OK, I'm kinda tired of sword games, i prefer guns, so hopefully we can see what ND is cookin, Eve if there's no release window. Kratos Spinoff Atreus? Maybe if they let you turn into the bear it might be good, but im not really trippin on it, we have much needed 3rd party games like Pragmata & Exekiller, Neo Berlin 2087 & Resident Evil. Looking forward to June 7th. Despite mixed opinions, I was actually impressed with Xbox for the 1st time with Hellblade, & Stalker 2 looks good too, scheduled for September in UE5, & if that all digital X drops for $399 I might have to pick 1 up to sit next to the Playstation

You talking about Destiny is surreal. Luke Smith made a rare appearance in the Final Shape reveal saying after the raid is completed(June 7th) they'll say what's coming next and that Destiny isn't finished. This has led many to believe that a Destiny 3 is coming, especially since Luke said Destiny instead of the usual Destiny 2. And with Marathon getting rebooted as another hero shooter and it not being recieved well from ppl who played it and how bad things got money wise this past year it seems Bungie NEEDS a full new boxed game in Destiny 3.
Do you think in September when Sony reveals the ps5 pro they will show the reveal trailer for wolverine with a release date to cause more hype

I don't mind them being quiet about their first party games ...I only like hearing about games when they are within a year away from coming out ...I can't stand the 2 ..3 years plus away games ...if it's not ready shut up about it ...they should've never talked about tlou multiplayer until they for sure knew it would be coming out

A new Astro Bot game expected to be announced within the next 15 days according to Dealabs/billbil-kun. Part of the game is set in a desert environment and one of the new characters is a "fennec fox in the form of a robot"

I doubt Ragnarok coming to pc any time soon it far to soon. The next pc port will be until dawn and possibly gravity rush 2.
After last year's disappointing show, they have to come out with a bang this year. They've been quiet for way too long.

For the past couple of years, PS has been promoting their latest upcoming games.
They don't really showcase games 2 years out anymore.
I expect to see Concord & Fair Game$, those are still slated to release this year.
If you can't find something from the Sony Showcse, the June 7th gamefest & the June 9th Xbox showcase then you should trade on your console for golf clubs or something

It was my understanding that Bungie isn't owned by PlayStation Studios, it's actually owned by Sony, which is different

It's not Sony studios, it's PlayStation Studios. While PlayStation studios is owned by Sony, they are still 2 different things.
Just like Xbox and Microsoft are 2 different things.
PlayStation Studios, are a collection of studios owned by Sony that makes first party games for PlayStation. Bungie is not a part of PlayStation studios. Bungie is just one of many other companies, own by Sony. That's why their games are still multiplatform.
Now if Bungie doesn't hold up to their contract they signed when Sony bought them, Sony can take full control of Bungie. In that scenario, they could potentially move them and make them a part of PlayStation studios, if they wanted.
Might be hard to understand, but the gist of it is Bungie IS NOT under or affiliated with PlayStation Studios, however they are under Sony

I want a new Infamous game, SOCOM game, Syphon Filter game, Resistance game, or a Killzone 4. Like Sony has all of those franchises and they release unoptimized slop like Last of Us 1 and 2 remastered 🤣. I only turn my PS5 on to play through the Yakuza series since i have no desire to play NG+ for Stellar Blade lol. Very disappointing game gen.

Absolute disagree man. So many excellent big and small titles for Ps5 and damn, you miss out on stellar blade Ng+. Nice new equipment and dresses, also new update dropped today and gave back the uncensored versions of the old dresses!
When a game hits their 3rd iteration & doesn't make a profit, it usually ends the franchise. That's why you buy your games you like and support the developer.
I see reforge has his list up, I don't like everything on Playstation but I'm going to add my own list: The Last of Us remake, Ragnorok, Returnal, Final Fantasy 7, Stellar Blade, Silent Hill 2, hellblade 2, Stalker 2. Nothing else on Xbox 2020-2024 is worth my time personally so not sure the complaints regarding Sony.
Just bring everything to PC baby!
