One of my fav defensive players. Coming from a cowboy fan you can't deny this dudes greatness. Loved watching him play and hated having to play against him. They don't make em like this anymore.
Daniel D it's not just about fumbles. Other players were actually afraid of him. The guy carried himself like a boss. When he hit someone they damn well knew who hit them. The Eagles have two great safeties right now, but neither one of them can compare to Dawkins. The guy is a freakin' legend.
Lihentorch Pacius haha right. I remember watching that exact tackle in a hotel room with my cousin in Iowa. Think we were there for a wedding but he was like "he just suplexed him!!" and I'm like "what is a suplex" haha
6 years later and I still feel like this man deserved a longer video by you. “I’m gonna take his soul. I’m gonna see how bad he wants to play.” ~Brian Dawkins
Dawkins was intimidating by just standing there. His entry into the game was by far the BEST ever. He intimidated from his player introduction. He let you know WHO you were dealing with. LOVE this guy!
Yeh id much rather get tackled by ed reed or polomalu then dawkins...there more praised...but dawkins the only one of those dudes that scares me....and john lynch
When Andy Reid was fired as coach a reporter asked him if he had any regrets all the years he was with the Philadelphia Eagles. Andy answered only one " letting Dawk go ". That says it all. Brian Dawkins Jr starts college at Clemson this year 2016. the kid looked great in high school. let's hope he does well in college. pulling for you Jr.
About Andy Reid, another regret he should have said was letting go Terrell Owens. And I'm hyped for B-Dawk the Ball Hawk Jr. to make his way into the NFL. Imagine if he got drafted by the Eagles? That would be cool too.
And Andy should have regrets about that. One of the reasons why after 14 years , I was happy to see him go. I don't care how many super bowls he wins the rest of his career, he'll never have my respect after the way he did B-Dawk. It was a disgrace and a stain on the whole Eagles organization. Dawk was one of the greatest players in Eagles history and the embodiment of Philly and the way we feel about sports. The way they let him go was spitting on all things Philadelphia.
Man... what a player! He brought so much more to the table other than his outrageous talent. I've never seen a guy bring so much passion and heart into this game. I am an eagles fan, but it's not very hard to like Brian. Lol I cheered for him in Denver. It brings back some sweet memories watching him crawl out of that tunnel rocking the all black uniforms with that blacked out visor!! It must have been scary for the other teams having to play against them.
As a diehard Broncos fan, good lord was Dawkins fun to watch. Denver had a nice run of defensive backs...start in 1981 when they drafted Dennis Smith, to Steve Atwater, to Champ Bailey and John Lynch, to Brian Dawkins, and now the No Fly Zone. To this day, Dawkins was my absolute favorite.
its been a number of years but as I recall, TO was covered more tightly in the latter half of the 2nd quarter as well as the 3rd quarter and the eagles drives stalled because they went elsewhere and failed to make conversions. TO didn't become a problem until after that season so I doubt there was any issue about who would be the "hero." It was all about getting a w.
Crazy part is all the soundtracks are from xmen movies . The first one is from the first xmen where magnetos parents get separated from him , second one is from xmen first class , then the xmen show theme song
+2_6.forever yup I know . That first soundtrack at the beginning of the video sent chills down my spine . Made him look like a force of nature not to be messed with
Wow, I had no idea Dawkins was that tough. He appears to have more hard hits than Kam Chancellor, and at a lower bodyweight. Thanks for assembling this!
My all time favorite eagle, he overtook 41, but it's still close. The true heart and soul of what an Eagle is, there will never be another better representation of the city.
yea how long did he play? ohh.. How many rings did he win ? oh.. Did he ever lead his team to being the #1 defense in the league? oh.. As soon as lewis and Troy were in the league Dawkins wasn't even a top 3 Safety anymore
He's one of the greatest football players to ever live no debate about that. This coming from a die heart cowboys fan. To much love for the game to lie about it
+Joseph Vincent Love it man thought it was awesome, that game was my childhood! Keep it up love these videos! You should get one for the 2000 Ravens Defense when you get the chance!
As a lifelong eagles fan in my 30's, it was a total fucking disgrace this man's last 2 yrs were in a den uniform. Simply put, he's the epitome of "Intangibles". You can't measure a man of that stature with dollar signs & cents. I would of gave him the city if he asked but he already had that. I'm glad he won a title too, was very much deserved
I remember begging my mom to buy me his jersey when the eagles got him .. now at a 27 years young I will never forget the memories . G.O.A.T . Fly eagles fly.
His shoe's will never be filled, we haven't had a leader on defense since 20. When one player has the power to give your team an identity, hold onto it man. Their special
It feels wrong being a broncos fan but having my two favorite players been ray lewis and Brian Dawkins Dawkins feels justified cuz he did play for the broncos but he made his name known and was best with the eagles so
Interesting thought experiment discussed in my circle of Eagles fan friends - If you could bring back one defensive player and one offensive player, in their prime, from past Eagles teams, and put them on today's roster who would you choose? On offense there are a lot of great choices, McNabb, Vick, Shady, DJax, Cunningham, TO, Westbrook. It's a tough decision honestly. But Defensive player, I don't think ANYONE even hesitated for a second when asked this question. Brian Dawkins is the answer. We might need to fill a hole with a Reggie White or a Seth Joyner more right now in 2024, but still, Brian Dawkins is the only real answer considered.
Man it's a shame that it's so difficult for you to find film pre year 2000. I bet Joe would love to do a tribute to Ronnie Lot. I've seen him use some footage of Lot, but there must not be enough of it. Mike Singleterry is another. Lawrence Taylor and Derrick Thomas. The memories.
One of my fav defensive players. Coming from a cowboy fan you can't deny this dudes greatness. Loved watching him play and hated having to play against him. They don't make em like this anymore.
TommyTheTrillest preach
He gave me nightmares
He made the visor cool to have.
As an eagles fan you're my favorite type of rival. I admire Staubach and Aikman as much as I hate them.
You played against him? What position did you play and for what team, brother?
He's ray Lewis but at safety. Great leader and was always laying people out
Sorry, but it's pretty disrespectful to compare one of the greatest defenders of our generation to a murderer....
Kaizaro123 that's all people say this day, that he's a murderer, and yes he is, but he's not the only one who murdered someone.
Dude I was literally about to comment the same thing.
G M nah he’s Brian Dawkins, don’t do him like that.
Daniel D it's not just about fumbles. Other players were actually afraid of him. The guy carried himself like a boss. When he hit someone they damn well knew who hit them. The Eagles have two great safeties right now, but neither one of them can compare to Dawkins. The guy is a freakin' legend.
I don't give a fuck about whatever any Broncos fan says. Brian Dawkins will always be an Eagle
Eagles=garbage tho
True
That's right Eagles nation for life.
yep, broncos fan will say "oh he played for the broncos" yeah but he is an eagle not a bronco
+RPD 6478 That's right

He suplexed the QB

I don't know why more heavy hitters don't wear the blackout visor, it's actually intimidating if you have the ability to back it up
this video gave me the damn chills the entire way through it. definitely among the greatest of all time
Indeed so he is
No
+Soopersil3ntassasin yeah, Dawkins has the most forced fumbles for a safety.
He said among. So really one of the best.

I absolutely love Dawk. I'm so happy he got into the HoF and was very glad to see him at the Eagles celebration Thursday night.
Brian Dawkins will probably always be my all time favorite
Coming from a Cowboys fan that literally watched him play all the time, he was a total MONSTER!!!!
"I'm Brian Dawkins versus the whole 0 and 16 Lions offense!"
epic slim reference
#GOAT , cried when he left philly and when he retired
Sean RE well not goat but definitely top 5

Yeah I agree he is 35th of all time.

I know his home is Philly, but we loved him here in Denver. He was only here a few short years but will never be forgotten in this city.
Eagles fan here and that hit on Crumpler tells you all you need to know about the 5'10" 200lb Brian Dawkins, miss you B-Dawk, thanks for the memories.
Brian Dawkins is 6'0" 210lbs
We need more players like him on our team if we ever hope to win a Super Bowl!
His passion drives him to be such a heart touching guy and this is why football is awesome
I just love when this dude jumped in the air you get chills. I can’t wait for his football life.
Thanks for this man. I'll never forget the night of the NFC Championship game man...
I appreciate this as an eagles fan. #FlyEaglesFly
eagles shouldve won the superbowl that year
Alden Buyer only way the patriots can win. Cheating
JL-CptAtom mcnabb was the reason we went to five conference finals in a row. Ignorant.
Alden Buyer Pats didn't cheat eagles got outplayed during the middle of the game.
i think andy reid and donovan fatnabb didnt want TO to be the hero ! cause they quit throwing to him eventhough he was whippin asante samuel

That dude was insane! I've got chill while watching some of his big plays! GOAT!
Only 4 guys at the safety position who are ABSOLUTELY dominant every play. Dawk Reed Troy Lott in any order you want.

When he comes out of the tunnel on all fours? Man.....I bet the other team was shaking. Best safety EVER. Love ya DAWKINS
Congrats to B-Dawk, HOF Class of 2018!!! Well deserved!!!
On days I'm feeling down, uninspired, and feeling like there's no hope, I listen to Ryan Dawkins and Ray Lewis debate the meaning of life.

If he didn't do one for Brian Westbrook he needs to
What's amazing to me is how many of his hits would survive today's game. Putting his shoulder into guys chests, keeping his head out of it, mostly.
favorite player man nice vid
Anyone else wish he didn't get traded? I wonder how good we would have been still with him
2000’s had a bunch of great safeties. Sean Taylor, Troy, Reed, Lynch, Dawkins
What a remarkable player. So glad he retired as an Eagle. Much respect!
His Passion is unlike any other.
