@@cxg174 the timing of the release of this track and the release of the sequenced coronavirus genome... Is interesting. @@Anon-xd3cf yeah, Bob Dylan is an iconic musician. They didn't change too much of the beat from his original version, but I really like how they slowed down the tempo in this remake.
I was just thinking the same thing. I'd put it in the top 50 of the most beautiful contemporary songs. Dylan was one of those rare songwriters whose lyrics were just as good as any poetry. ❤️ 🎶 🙂 🌎
Thank you for this cover. I have been waiting for it since I watched the trailer. My dad died last year and Bob Dylan was his favourite all time artist. This cover makes me feel so peaceful and at ease with how much has changed in the last year since he passed. He would have absolutely loved this version of the song. Thank you.
I think it is high time for us each to accept how we can get swimming with these times as they are changing so we can get to the shores of where we wish to be in this and future generations ✨
I have just discovered this song and wasn't aware this was a Bob Dylan cover, apologies to all Bob Dylan fans out there for my ignorance. My oh my, this version is probably the most beautiful song I have ever heard in my life, I cannot stop crying, there are very few songs that can move me as much as this one. And the way it perfectly fits the trailer, this is an absolute masterpiece (and I believe won an award?)
This is perfectly relevant to the monarchy. Times ARE changing. They can’t be the austere figures of the past, but they have to modernize. I think the Queen has already faced this in her reign. Hell, she’s reigned for over 60 years during one of the most turbulent reigns. We honestly can’t ask more of her now. But we maybe need to open some regulations for the future.
Are the times changing for the better? What regulations do you propose? Change isn't always a good thing and yes not always a bad thing, wisdom is one of the most precious and difficult things to achieve and it is severely lacking in modern times.
This question is merely to understand you guys point of view, which I find difficult to understand due to the fact here (where I live) we have never had kings or queens. Why is it necessary to have a monarchy? How come a Parliament isn't enough? What leads you to say "long live the Queen/monarchy? Please do not take it wrong it's merely out of curiosity and I don't intend to debate, just to have a better understanding of something quite unfamiliar to me.
@@caroquintana1751 its all sentimental and history. In a parliament sense, the head of the state is powerless but still important. And I think people who live in monarchies want a head of state like a monarch which is steeped in history and customs rather than a president who does the exact same job. Back in my homeland, the love for monarchy was above anything else. The monarch was literally regarded as an avatar of lord Vishnu and if you know basic Hinduism, you know that's a damn big deal. Even now when the monarchy no longer exists, I still see photos of the late king along side gods. I recommend this song. ruclips.net/video/ofdTTAgdEwk/видео.html
Jan 10th 2021 and this song hits so different now given the climate of the world and what's going on in places like the U.S. and others. The lyrics really resonate with what's going on today. Here's how I see them resonating in this season: Come writers and critics Who prophesize with your pen And keep your eyes wide The chance won't come again And don't speak too soon For the wheel's still in spin And there's no tellin' who That it's namin'. For the loser now Will be later to win For the times they are a-changin'. ^ (A message to the media & free press. From journalists to social media influencers) Come senators, congressmen Please heed the call Don't stand in the doorway Don't block up the hall For he that gets hurt Will be he who has stalled There's a battle outside ragin'. It'll soon shake your windows And rattle your walls For the times they are a-changin'. ^ (A warning to all governments & politicians, not just in the U.S. ofc, but all the lines can also actually be interpreted as literal too. Talking about what happened on Jan. 6th as there was a "battle" right outside the building that broke in. Right down to the details of the politicians being rushed out of the rooms and halls to the underground tunnels for safety, to people getting hurt, to the shaking & rattling as windows were broken and the hallways vandalised by the overzealous mob) Come mothers and fathers Throughout the land And don't criticize What you can't understand Your sons and your daughters Are beyond your command Your old road is Rapidly agin'. Please get out of the new one If you can't lend your hand For the times they are a-changin'. ^ (A perfect illustration of the generational fighting between the Boomers/anyone who thinks like a Boomer who are trying to hold onto outdated conservative Boomer ideals/views of the world, and the Millennials+Zoomers who are saying what needs to change & fighting for positive changes) The line it is drawn The curse it is cast The slow one now Will later be fast As the present now Will later be past The order is Rapidly fadin'. And the first one now Will later be last For the times they are a-changin'. ^ (I interpret this message a bit more abstractly, but the line "The Order is rapdily changing..." makes the whole thing sound like a reference to millennia old power structures being broken down, the Patriarchy being part of that but it goes so much deeper than just patriarchal structures. "The Order" has lost its power and iron grip on the world, and the future is opening up to faster progress than was previously possible. Hopefully positive progress and not regression.)
@@littlecousin5630 omg it's ART ffs. Like ok but that's your interpretation then? I have my own interpretation and just wrote how I saw the symbolism, and it works with the lyrics really well. Neither is wrong. Interesting how you felt the need to try and insinuate my interpretation of ART is wrong when no interpretation can be wrong since art/music is subjective, that's rather presumptuous. And the generational thing I used was an example? Like, yeah boomers were progressive hippies back then but then they changed as they got older and now cling to old ways. It sorta goes without saying that the older you get the more set in your ways you become. The youth will always be the spearheads of change since we stick less to traditions of the past. Also interesting how you read "outdated conservative ideals/views" and immediately assumed I was talking about the political spectrum. Like you can hold outdated conservative values regardless of what political party/side you associate with? I wasn't talking about politics specifically but ok. 🤔 Muting this now. I have no interest in a dumb argument over the subjective interpretations of art. Maybe next time don't offer unsolicited opinions when it's clear that nobody asked.
An interesting underlying threat: the change which we cause may not bring us a better world. We can't get out of the way, but like Aberfan, the deluge on us, even caused by us, crushes the innocent.
Ti Amo, and now this, The Times They are a-changing, indeed! Wonderful track, both this and the original! Anyone's got the Ti Amo Netflix version full audio?
Okay... Bob Dylan first wrote this song in 1963 as an anthem for change as the 1960s was a time of great social upheaval - the civil rights movement, the counter-culture movement, etc - and Dylan's song tapped into that sentiment. It's urging those figures who are tied to the existing power structure such as those with political power ("Come Senators, congressmen, please heed the call,") and even parents ("Come mothers and fathers throughout the land") to get involved with and adapt to the coming changes rather than try to obstruct them ("Your old road is rapidly aging. Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand.") It also hints that change won't be easy ("There's a battle outside and it is ragin'. It'Il soon shake your windows and rattle your walls.") and indicates that younger people are going to adapt to this change regardless of what the existing power structure does ("Your sons and your daughters are beyond your command,"). Some should lead, some should follow and some should get out of the way. That's basically what it says.
