Ted is by far not the worst person on tv, you got Sheldon of bbt, which I personally hate, and than there is Red, that dad form the 70's show. Ted is a great character, who is on his search for the one. In his mind, it is Robin, so that's why this moment is such a sad one, cause Ted knows he has given away who was for him the love of his live. Ted had to live his live next to his best friend getting married (Yes Barney, Marshall is Ted's best friend) and getting a kid, while he is way behind on all of that. To top that all off, his second best friend gets married to the love of his live, and he is still no where near that. People might think one break-up is rough, Ted had five. Twice with Victoria, one with Robin, one with Stella which was not even a break up, but rather being left at the altar, and than the one with Zoey. The poor guy had a lot to deal with, so I think that Ted dealt better with all of it than most of you complainers would.

At least with characters like Barney, he doesn't pretend to be a 'nice guy' to try and find 'the one'. As terrible as Barney is, there is a redemption in his honesty, unlike Ted. Ted's obsession with finding 'the one' is frankly rooted in clear jealousy of Lily and Marshal. His obsession with Robin is unhealthy, and considering that in the course of telling his kids how he met their mother, he proceeds to ramble on and on about Robin and all the other women he used and threw away when they didn't fit his retarded and perfectionist ideal.
As ted goes to the window watching the snow with that sad eyes, i felt his loneliness and deminishing hope to find his true love... really an emotional scene..
+Alpha Music If you don't want the show to be ruined completely for you I'd recommend not watching the last 5 or so episodes of season 9, the others should be fine but if you don't wanna be fucked up never watch the final few episodes XD

It didn’t prove a point, and the show didn’t lead to it smoothly. It was just kind of “there”. Its like they did it just because it would be unexpected. Just for the sake of avoiding predictability, and I always dislike that. If you’re gonna have a twist you have to do it right. I don’t think they did it right. If they couldn’t come up with something better, they should have ended it all bony and blithe the way the audience was expecting it.

That hurt me too, but also because for me, I've compared this story to my own love story and I had a Robin too. I've had a toxic relationship with this show, since I met my version of Robin. Before, I could just enjoy the story and the show, but now it has meaning for me. Everytime I decide to rewatch the series, I think 'Maybe I'm over it and I can just enjoy the comedy' and I've been wrong every time. I'd get to the painful episodes and every time it's a blow to the heart. I just wish that someday I could enjoy the show for what it is and not for what it meant. I've seen both Endings, but they don't change how I feel by these painful episodes. It might be because I haven't found my Mrs. Moseby yet, but idk.

Actually I love the ending where Robin and Ted end up together. I love Tracy, but I think Ted is the only person who could love Tracy and then Robin the way he does. Understanding Tracy with her dead boyfriend and Robin who was everything he wanted for so long, but they just had different ways of creating their lives. Esther Perel says it: you can have wonderful love stories with people that you can't make a life with. Ted got best out of both worlds. And the love between Robin and Ted has been waken up once again, after he was single again. He has enough hope and love to love her as she deserves to be loved, even when she was never the type of girl that would be a mom, but maybe an awesome stepmother. I believe there is no end to love and that it is possible to love more than one person and that is what Ted represents for me. He loves Tracy even after she passed away, but he also loves Robin and there is no better or worse. Just love.

Robin is very independent, never wanted kids, never planned on getting married- but Ted liked the idea of Robin filling that space in the life he planned out, but he never truly loved her (for being herself). Ted made Robin give up her dogs for him, and had stated countless times that she had commitment issues. Even in one episode Ted had stated that she never made him feel needed, and how her independence was a flaw. Barney was the opposite. He embraced Robin for who she is and not who she could be. Not to mention, nearly every time Ted meets a new girl he’d claim that “she’s the one” as if he auditioning people for the role as his wife… meanwhile for Barney, Robin was the only one he’d settle down with.

Perfectly stated about him letting her be her, and not merely accepting it, but embracing it and (for the most part) Robin did the same for him. I think that’s what I loved so much about them! I’ve always HATED the narrative of “If they could both just change, they’d be perfect together”. The one thing I will say is that I’m SO GLAD they never had Robin change her mind about kids and her career. As someone who chooses to be child free, I am absolutely INFURIATED by those saying “You’ll change your mind” to us. Why? I mean, they are great together, but not ment together. HIMYM had better couples than the ones that ended. Ted and Robin where in my opinion just as fun to watch as Barney and Robin, but Barney and Quinn where even better. Actually I love the ending where Robin and Ted end up together. I love Tracy, but I think Ted is the only person who could love Tracy and then Robin the way he does. Understanding Tracy with her dead boyfriend and Robin who was everything he wanted for so long, but they just had different ways of creating their lives. Esther Perel says it: you can have wonderful love stories with people that you can't make a life with. Ted got best out of both worlds. And the love between Robin and Ted has been waken up once again, after he was single again. He has enough hope and love to love her as she deserves to be loved, even when she was never the type of girl that would be a mom, but maybe an awesome stepmother. I believe there is no end to love and that it is possible to love more than one person and that is what Ted represents for me. He loves Tracy even after she passed away, but he also loves Robin and there is no better or worse. Just love.
@@miralynne8913Disagree… Robin wasn’t the type of girl who Ted wanted, and the series showed that time and time again. Robin is very independent, never wanted kids, never planned on getting married- but Ted liked the idea of Robin filling that space in the life he planned out, but he never truly loved her (for being herself). Ted made Robin give up her dogs for him, and had stated countless times that she had commitment issues. Even in one episode Ted had stated that she never made him feel needed, and how her independence was a flaw. Barney was the opposite. He embraced Robin for who she is and not who she could be. Not to mention, nearly every time Ted meets a new girl he’d claim that “she’s the one” as if he auditioning people for the role as his wife… meanwhile for Barney, Robin was the only one he’d settle down with.
@@aethei8560Thank you!!!! I was never team Ted and Robin even before they started to introduce Barney as a love interest! But then I was totally team Robin and Barney once it did start. Perfectly stated about him letting her be her, and not merely accepting it, but embracing it and (for the most part) Robin did the same for him. I think that’s what I loved so much about them! I’ve always HATED the narrative of “If they could both just change, they’d be perfect together”. The one thing I will say is that I’m SO GLAD they never had Robin change her mind about kids and her career. As someone who chooses to be child free, I am absolutely INFURIATED by those saying “You’ll change your mind” to us. As if these people know you better than yourself. 🙄 But anyway, thanks for your comment, I agree with every part of it!

Why? I mean, they are great together, but not ment together. HIMYM had better couples than the ones that ended.
Ted and Robin where in my opinion just as fun to watch as Barney and Robin, but Barney and Quinn where even better. Robin didn't really have a great boyfriend except Ted and Barney, but out of Don, Kevin and Nick, I think Kevin fits her best. When everyone was really enjoying the perfect swarkles moment .. I had a different experience seeing TED standing alone in his building leaving me heartbroken and couldn't sleep peacefully catching the intense sadness of TED.
Though many people believe this song expresses Ted's situation...but I believe it is Barney's. Reason...none.
