These revolvers are great. I got one in 22mag and got the folding grip for a bit of accuracy and man, I was impressed at how well these little guns shoot. I recommend them to everyone who has a CCW/LTCF and goes places where descression is key.

I see a lot of people in EDC groups with these tiny NAA revolvers. Independently of 'technical' discussions on defense and carry, i'm pretty sure of two things: you'll have what you'll carry, and .22 is no joke.
Bingo... the mere thought of being "gut-shot" with just about any caliber, is..... "unpleasant". That said, anyone can conceal one of those NAA revolvers regardless of attire without much fuss.
The Ranger 2 is real nice but you can have two regular little NAA 22Mag for the same price. Since reloads aren't really the thing for these kind of guns, your budget is the only limitation.
I've been carrying a NAA 22mag with the grip holster for about 2 years. I can get a 6 inch group at 7 yards and a decent 4 inch group at 5 yards. I like it because it doesn't silhouette in blue jeans and golf shirt for summer carry. It's not perfect, but its better than the Glock you left in the car because it's bulky or cumbersome.
I was always told "If you need a gun to go somewhere you probably shouldn't be there" and this particular club was known for shootings. But most people instead of not going chose instead to go armed. When I quit going to those types of places I haven't killed a person in years. LMFAO ! People are killing to get in the penitentiary and dying to get in the cementary. No reply necessary !

Another informative video Kristin, I like North American arms pistols but I think at 5 yds its even a stretch.I believe the gun is made for UP close and personal use from around 5.Feet for better accuracy. But you did quite well from 5yds.

Just picked up a used Black Widow (basically an extended pug). Decent price at $250 in this crazy market/inflated prices. I really wanted the Ported Pug with Tritium sights..
Why would you want porting on a .22 revolver😂😂😂 there is almost zero recoil... it barely has any barrel and is a REVOLVER. That thing would be so weak.
I have the Pug and you do get an occasional keyhole. Keyhole bullet would still kill haha. Definitely not not made for long range for sure, but its so fun to shoot and you can be decently accurate at about 15 yards with practice. The guns are accurate they are just hard to shoot.
I bought one of these NAA years ago and it was fun the first few range days, but I sold it because it was nothing more than a novelty. If I’m in fear for my life, this is the last gun I’d want to rely on. It’s better than a short pointy stick, but I think if I’m spending in the $400 range there are so many better choices.

I have 3 NAA mini revolvers. The pug, the wasp, and the ported 22 Wmr. The one she is showing that breaks open is not a good choice IMHO. I have seen videos, and artical on this, and the leavers that open it are too close to the hammer, and I read where people accidentally pulled back those levers while cocking the hammer. This opened the hinged loading mechanism. All of the other minis are top notch.
While I agree, I still had to get the break open one because it’s just way too cool. I still like it a lot and I think if you practice with it a few dozen rounds it isn’t as big of an issue as you’d think.
@zyporizhyaev I was really tempted, but the PUG really caught. One reason is the nice sights, and the extra 22 LR cylinder. The Wasp because it's what my wife wanted. (Not that she ever carries it) The ported I'm giving to my dad for his birthday. He liked the ported one. He is 82. Not that 22 WMR has much recoil, but at 82 who am I to argue. Lol.

That gives us greater flexibility as we can shoot everything from. 22 CB CAP to Long Rifle. In Utah we also pay the Utah market price which is 50% of the internet listed price. I paid $75.00for my .22 Short in part because Sandy Chrisholm the founder and owner is my uncle, and in part because I work for him as EVP for Product Quality. I get to examine and inspect every order for imperfections. I analyze the metals under a microscope, if weaknesses or damage might occure from prolonged shooting we fix that. We had a batch of stainless discarded and sent back to the smelter. We added more carbon, titanium, and tungsten to the alloy. That's why our stainless steel is so heavy and dense. Being so small prolonged firing weakens the alloy, and excessive amounts of heat on the barrels causes failures, jamming, and warping. I have shot perhaps 5,000 rounds of .22 WMR on my Blackwidow and not one has failed to exit the barrel. I tell our customers to keep it clean, take it for a tuneup from time to time as the cylinders do lose their timing. I test it for stress fractures. Some out of staters rent apartments by the week, apply for a temporary job, go get a Utah ID or driver license, and when the ID arrives they buy at local dealers taking advantage of the local prices. Then they travel my state for the rest of my state. Being a Constitutional 2nd Amendment State, we are also a Castle Doctrine, Stand Your Ground, and the only Shoot First, Shoot Last, Make Every Shot Count in the Republic. Because of these policies Utah crime is low. We feel safe even at night with a .22 Short. We get calls about the Hogleg a lot. Unfortunately we discontinued that model from the lineup. The Mini Master is a better option. The 4" barrel makes the .22 WMR exit the barrel st near rifle speeds. And for those that want custom metalworks I make bayonets, barrel mounted mini lasers with red beam and fiber optic white laser lights, as well as steel knuckles with trigger guard. This allows you to pistol whip your attacker and bayonet him when you run out of ammo. I have also loaded upholstery tacks to ratshot shells for nasty damage. One commenter stated that ratshot even Magnum ratshot doesn't stop an attacker. I asked him why don't I shoot in the crotch to find out. Let's see if you're still standing after being shot once on the crotch. People don't realize that ratshot is lethal. Shoot someone in the face with a .22 CB CAP loaded with ratshot the attacker is blinded regardless how weak the cartridge is. You can't fight back if you can't see. And .22 Short ratshot on the crotch the attacker will bleed to death if EMTs don't arrive quickly. A Magnum might enter the belly and the exit wound might be the back of the skull or the eye socket, causing severe organ and tissue damage in its path. Rimfire is indeed brutal. Anyone that says that rimfire is anemic they have never been shot with one. There's greater chances in surviving a 9mm than a .22. In fact the Department of Justice reports that more individuals and police die from .22 Rimfire of any variant than larger centerfire cartridges. Of course you don't want to fight a meth addict in San Francisco with a .22, nor a 9mm for that matter. For that you want a .357 SIG, .40, or 10mm. And if the meth addict combined flakka with meth and spice sprayed with bug spray you want a .45 Long Colt to do the job. One shot, and you got a flat zombie, job done! If you visit Utah I can host a factory tour for you. Since Sandy Chrisholm started the company not one employee has been fired or has ever quit. We even adopted most of the California Ring of Fire factory employees that lost their jobs. Jennings moved to the State and started Lorjenns Armory. I love these NAA pieces for DEEP concealment. But I would NEVER use birdshot or snakeshot in them. All you will do is convince your attacker to savagely beat you to death rather than just rob you.
You’re assuming a lot, but I get your point. I would think a regular 22Mag bullet would add penetration to the sting of a bullet wound. It could be a lights out moment. Shot won’t penetrate very much.
Do *NOT* get the ranger . The action to release the cylinder is so close to the hammer that it’s really easy to accidentally unlatch the cylinder when trying to cock the hammer back.. Also i have an naa 22lr (basic model short barrel) and i can hit a plate at 25 yards . These things are unexpectedly accurate once you figure out the proper sight alignment
The pug is under $300 and incredibly high quality. The ranger can be found for a decent price butbits construction is more mechanical so requires a higher price. They are very fair in pricing.

Please don't advise anyone to shoot someone with bird or rat shot in self defense. First off, you only have a right to use a firearm if you are reasonably in fear for your/other's life. A good attorney could argue that you had forethought to NOT fire in defense of your life, but to maim or injure. Also, it's liable to just piss off the attacker.
Don't come to my state, we are a Shoot First, Shoot Last, Make Every Shot Fired Count state. Our laws don't require us to fear for our lives in order to shoot. Ask my wife or my 17 year old daughter to shoot you on the face and the crotch with .22 Short ratshot. Let's see how fast you get up for seconds?

I agree about 97.2%...at rest the wmr has more potential energy than lr...it stands to reason even out of a 1 inch barrel you might gain a smidgen of velocity and energy, and lots of folks have lived or died because of a half inch difference in their wound...no argument about expansion, there would be zero...

Please don't advise anyone to shoot someone with bird or rat shot in self defense. First off, you only have a right to use a firearm if you are reasonably in fear for your/other's life. A good attorney could argue that you had forethought to NOT fire in defense of your life, but to maim or injure. Also, it's liable to just piss off the attacker.
Don't come to my state, we are a Shoot First, Shoot Last, Make Every Shot Fired Count state.
Our laws don't require us to fear for our lives in order to shoot.

There is no point in doing 22 WMR in a barrel that short. Your velocity and ft/lb gains are minimal and expansion is going to be nonexistent.
I agree about 97.2%...at rest the wmr has more potential energy than lr...it stands to reason even out of a 1 inch barrel you might gain a smidgen of velocity and energy, and lots of folks have lived or died because of a half inch difference in their wound...no argument about expansion, there would be zero...
