1972 Ford Gran Torino coupe the kind of distinct total package classic you’ve been waiting for it is V8 powered, with a cruiser-ready attitude. And at a price like this, you know someone will be getting a great deal and will be cruising this summer.
This was the debut year for a new style of Torino, and it was basically a single-year design. Ford created downright sporty sheet metal for this coupe, and it looks especially nice since the body-hugging bumpers and side trim are complete and shining.
And the bright green paint was given a later respray to make sure it still looks bright. This year’s car had a terrific muscle car kind of intimidation with a huge grille that looks like it wants to consume lesser cars.
The overall impression that you’ll get is that this one is a distinct driver car. That’s also why the upgraded Modern wheels with Cooper Cobra tires not only have a great look, but they are also perfect for fitting better driving.
The carpet, door panels, dash, and headliner all have a clean look of quality. The seats are particularly nice with the insignia trim embossed across the rear one, and the front has a split bench with high-back comfort.
You’ll like the classic feeling, right down to details like the working dome light and upgraded Grant GT Tri-spoke steering wheel. It is equipped with factory air conditioning (it likely needs a recharge to blow cold again.)
The radio has been upgraded to a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette for your listening pleasure.
Under the hood is the power house 351 cubic-inch V8. You may decide just to tune this up as a stock setup, or we also know this is a motor that loves upgrades. So, it has good power for today, and any time you want, it would be very easy to let this one live up to as much of the muscle car potential you desire.
And no matter how you choose to enjoy this coupe, the power steering, three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes, and front discs make for a solid all-around cruiser.
Ford fans know this style was really only around for a single year before bumper laws took away many of the exciting lines. That’s why the ’72 fastback will always be in demand. So don’t miss a solid and distinct V8 classic. Bid today!!!

shmorpie M, popular color for early 70-'s Fords. Grabber Green.

@@sergeantmasson3669 I do remember the color, but it on was for the Maverick, (hence the "Grabber"). But, was Grabber Green available on the '72 Gran Torino? I don't remember that, and I owned a '72 Gold Gran Torino.

@@shmorpieM My '72 429 Gran Torino Sport was red. So, what? PPG paint code 2231 Grabber Green. It wasn't just for Mavericks either.

@@sergeantmasson3669 I'm not arguing with you. I just made an observation. It's your car, sir. It's a beautiful car, no doubt. Just wondered about the choice, that's all.

@@sergeantmasson3669 Frankly speaking, I've not owned a car that was a smooth riding, or as comfortable as my Gran Torino was, back in the day. I'm sure yours is, too. Says a lot about the way it was built. The doors closed so effortlessly, too. I used to get pissed when people felt they had to slam them shut to get it to catch.😆
