Its the middle of winter here in Alaska, ice fishing is fun too but I’m really excited for this summer to catch my first brook trout. For now I’m watching your videos while I mod my ice fishing pole into a mini jigging lure setup👍🏻
Thank you 🙏. Ive always wanted to live in a community like that. I consider myself very fortunate that I get to fish there once in a while. Oh, and i cant believe the size of the pan fish you guys have in those lakes. Awesome 😮
Hi Rob, I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for sharing your knowledge and epic catches! Been struggling with the LA trout fishing scene, but your videos help boost my confidence 😁
Appreciate the call out brother. And DANG those are some nice fish. Will have to hit the water with you once work calms down and the new K4 gets in. Tight lines in Pyramid!!!
Rob, How do the Katana rods compare to Juicy Beaver? I'm looking to put together a real nice setup for both mini jigs and spoon/drop shot, do you know how often Katana does drops or how i can get a hold of some?
Honestly Ive handled the beavers but ive never owned one or fished one long term. That said, I definitely prefer the Katana. Currently the only way to get one is to message them on Instagram @katanarods2022 and they will get you all the info. They are working on getting more of them available very soon and a website is in the works 🤘
I've been doing great the last few trips to Big Bear just below the red house 🏠! Did good at Lake Gregory last week after the plant at the newly cemented area by the rails.👍🎣
Not only does it have to be 7’6” but it also is much easier if it’s medium/medium fast action rod because it whips the jig out farther. And another alternative line would be Nanofil braid but it was discontinued but that line works better than Phenix braid. Or Suffix nano braid 👌
Finally pulled the trigger on the waterlands and the unboxing was cool. Can't wait to use then at SARL. It was cool seeing you check out GVL the other day. Take care and waiting for the pyramid video soon. 📹
Its always a good idea to try a different technique when one isnt working. I always strive to master as many techniques or styles of catching trout as possible. This way if one isn’t working I go to the next and keep trying 🤘
I use a fluorocarbon leader and attach it using a double uni knot with 6 wraps each side. Knot has never failed with 6 wraps. I use RUNCL 5lb power fluor and Seagar 4lb fluorocarbon just depends on what I have on hand at the time
Can’t beat the lightning strike on UL with the mini jig - awesome content SeaSpanker👊🎣👍
Right on! Thanks for watching 🙏

No worries at all. Trout fishing in SoCal can be tough as all the lakes get so much pressure. Just keep at it and you’ll start having more success.

No worries bro. You make really high quality stuff 🤘
Will be at Panguitch lake tomorrow. December 5th and still not frozen over.
The latest i have ever fished it is Dec.10th. Might beat that this year.🙄
Awesome. Wish I was there with ya for sure 🤘. Stay warm 🥶

@@paulyoon6350 very nice. Ive been trying to get out to Big Bear but can’t seem to make it. Imma keep trying though
I can't wait for the Pyramid & Trukee River videos. I read that the trout are coming in close to shore at Pyramid. All the best on the trip.
They are coming closer at pyramid finally. As for truckee big ones hit n miss. But still plenty of planter cutties to keep busy
The definitely are coming in close. I almost stepped on an 11lbr a couple hours ago
Ouch, that injury to your thumb must have hurt. Been there bro. 😬 Great vid bro, tight lines.
Haha yeah it was a good one. Im lucky I didn’t loose my thumb when it happened 😮

Very nice. Ive got 3 pairs and love em 🤘. There will definitely be a pyramid video soon. Still up here on the hunt
question if the trout won't bite spoon or spinner would it make sense to try to jig them or work something on the bottom?
thanks@JesusisLORD436

For sure man, be awesome if you come down and slay at the trout. Lol
It’s called lake cahuilla veterans park
Are you running straight braid or do you use a mono leader? If so what knot do you use?
