Me watching this: I really like Brandon’s voice and explanation Me after watching this: Why the fuck did I watch this I don’t even know what white balance is
Daylight always has a blue hue to it while small indoor lights (tungsten) have an orange hue. White balance is just making sure white actually looks white instead of blue or orange.
White balance has to do with color temperature. Light can have different colors based on its frequency, like think of backlights or the difference between an incandescent bulb (orange) and an older LED (bright blue). White balancing is telling the camera "This frequency is white" since typically you don't want to have lights express the color of what you're filming (though that can be considered for stylistic effects, like a cool blue spy scene or a warm orange romantic scene). This kind of adjustment is done automatically by your eyes/brain when you go from bright midday sun to evening candle light, but it can be played. It's why the blue dress/white dress thing was a thing.
Not just that. The quality of the actual image with the dynamic range and clarity. Just something about how he processed it (or maybe it was the lens) just seemed so much clearer than others I've seen.

cheers!
Canon 17-40 f4 L to all. Ok, joke.
The Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L II is the most common lens for video shooting and Full frame photography.
@@Mp57navy the camera uses a MFT mount though. he's likely using something similar
@@jasonaa7221 Brandon's got some expensive glass, he's probably using Canon lenses with a speedbooster.
The bokeh looks stretched to me 🤔 anamorphics?
@@mortalbloke not anamorphic for sure, at 6:14 when pulling focus you don't see that the anamorphic compression. My guess is something like a Helios 44, potentially with an oval diaphragm mod.
The quality of the recent videos is so good omg, good job on that... And having different hosts for some video is really refreshing too.
I thought I wasn't on LTT for a while in the intro, as I've been looking at Davinci Resolve videos lately.
I feel you didn't address the title very well but everything else was amazing!
Brendan plz do more
That is just LTT standard clickbait headline that only somewhat has to do with what the video is about. I doubt he chose or wrote that title.
Finally, a video for us ultrawide users
@@metacob Same I'm so used to 16:9 content that whenever I stumble across a 21:9 video I'm reminded of how amazing it looks
16:10 user here, 21:9 doesn't look so great, on my computer :'c
@@DocTime56 lol, now you know how we see most content on youtube. 😉
@@firedorange7176 at least you get some videos to fill your monitor .
But hey, I wanted my vertical space ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Where is the watercooled RED camera?? Linus did you dropped it 😂🤣
this video showed up in my autoplay and I wasn't expecting it to be LTT's video until he said "After our sponsor honey" and I was like wait a minute is it Brandon from LTT. Good job guys. Brandon is so pro in his game.
You guys are the best of youtube right here. all of these videos have passion put into them and it shows
I don't like the title- something this beautifully cinematic shouldn't be clickbait.
K
This was honestly a really solid video, Brandon did a great job, but I wish he read the script a bit slower or paused more, other than that thats really the only issue I had with this video, good job Brandon, keep doing what u do
Yeah I thought he was a bit fast as well
Legit thought I clicked on a video for a different channel.
My second one came in the mail about a week ago. Love it, and my clients are over the moon with the results.
i know squat about cameras but i geeked out about this. video was amazing, i kept moving the mouse to see if the intro was an ad. Bravo Brandon glad to see your video shooting skills are still on point
thanks for making the review 21:9 and 4k. watching this on an ultrawide monitor is a great experience
yes!
Corridor Digital just shot their “John Snow Wick” on this camera and have a great BTS on Corridor Crew
As an ultrawide user I looooooove when you guys (Brandon) upload in 21:9
I'm pretty sure most of their new videos are in 21:9. Could be wrong though.
I am a simple man, when i see Brandon i just press the Like button
Brandon is so refreshing on this channel. More Brandon please.
*starts the video on my phone
*See's the first few scenes
Me- This deserves to be in the big screen
*Screen casts to the family room 4k TV and continues to enjoy
Even I did the same
YES! Finally a topic over something camera related!
I always knew Brandon was one of the most talented people at LMG and this video is no different. Amazing job dude!
Finally video I can watch on full screen on my 21:9 monitor, thx LTT
The quality was already stellar but the good doggo made it 20 times better. Pls Linus, more of good doggo as B roll.
This is shot so well.
If Taran is the God of Macrokeys then Brandon is God of something as well....
Brandon is amazing. But you could slow down your talking more, feels like you're running late for a dinner date or something.
Otherwise, this video is pure amazing.
I tried watching at 0.75x speed but then he sounds a little drunk.
360p proves the point
?? i looked it in 4k
I love it when you guys do ultrawide videos. Thank you!
Brandon's videos always start so professionally
This is why I love Ultrawides, I noticed LTT videos were something like 19:9, but this is awesome.
Him* but first a word from our sponser*
Me * how dare you stand were he stood*
I am also a bmpcc4k owner and I get 40 mins of battery life you just gotta buy the right ones.
I recommend the Kastar batteries they r super cheap and have a larger capacity.
It's the same battery as Canon's DSLR right?
@@eming0873 correct
@@EJZ8 than won't Canon's battery be better?
I don't like that every video on youtube over produced. But this time it was worth it. Great vid Brandon!
Stunning Intro, and a really great video from Brandon. I'd love to see more filming/photography videos from him in the future!
Hi Brandon, beautiful shot. Would you mind share your lens choice?
I know he used to shoot on Sigma Arts series lenses. They may still.
For this video, I think that he used some type of anamorphic lenses.
That was something beautiful to watch on my ultrawide. Wish it was a standard practice but I get that most people don't use 21:9 screens :(
good video. Less linus (not for flaming reasoning), but you employ approx 30 people who are experts in their fields, good to hear from them enthusiasing about their given careers
I hope you make a series of videos about camera equipment. You obviously know a lot both about the equipment and skills, it would make a great addition to the rest of the content on LTT
Linus: How many roles do you want?
Brandon: YES!
