I mean, Roshi once mentioned that My Villain Academia arc was not really popular in Japan. Putting the plot aside, i do enjoy Horikoshi's art. There are some panels in the manga that i want to see animated one day. I also heard that his next manga will be a horror one. Indeed, Horikoshi should put his hands into writing that manga as soon as possbile, because he is very good at drawing creepy images.

Yea like the other 99% of the villains are straight psychotic but I had a soft spot for Twice and nearly cried. I wished he would’ve just surrendered he could’ve probably convinced Toga to leave as well.
one of the saddest parts of the Twice/Hawks scene is that Twice doesn't do his usual thing of saying one thing and then immediately contradicting himself. He seems totally present and in control of his psyche, so he's just feeling 100% betrayed

That’s the biggest reason why I can’t get into manga. I’ve tried naruto, Tokyo ghoul, attack on titan & some others. But I just can’t get into it without the music and voice acting; I get bored and stop. Spoilers; I read when Reiner & Bertholt revealed themselves as titans to Eren , that wasn’t enough to keep me hooked on reading
i cry a lot of times watching Re Zero or other anime, but i didn't cry on this one. But i have to say one thing, it's a lot better done death than... Green with yellow haired guy? Allmight's old buddy? Well, whoever that plot device was, now we have a character who we actually care and has some development throught the series. But Twice and Hawks relationship was built on like... Two seconds of screentime. xD i wonder if the "Spinner" arc from the previous season had more screentime for Twice and Hawks, that would been so much better.
So you telling me the killer mushroom girl is in 1B, but meanwhile Mineta and Hagakure, whose Quirks are not entirely useless but the owners are, are in 1A... that better be for balance purposes, that's all I can say.
I feel bad for Twice for sure, but this also helps show why I love Hawks as a character so much. He legitimately tried to be there for Twice, but wasn't too soft to let his emotions ruin the raid.
This also serves to show just how truly TERRIFYING Twice is. if Hawks didn't stop him here, the raid would've failed. that's that. unless somehow main character-kun showed up and pulled some plot armor, Sad Man's Parade literally just swamps the heroes and they can't do anything about it
RIP Twice, he really cared for his friends and was willing to go so far for them. I liked how, unlike the other seasons, Dabi actually showed emotion. They were just as explosive and fierce as his flames. This is only the beginning
I think the thing that makes it so sad is that a good portion of the League are just people who got pushed out of society. Spinner was pushed out for having a quirk that made him look different. Toga was pushed out because society thought her quirk was weird. And rather than help her, they thought it would be better not to look at her. Twice was someone who just had bad luck one day and life continued to kick him while he was down so he couldn't get back up. And Shigaraki was literally a lost kid who hundreds of adults decided to ignore when he needed help. Everyone rejected them and told them they didn't matter. So they all accepted each other and became a family. This episode was rough.
Our main villains being societal rejects points to their goal much like how everyone felt in regards to Stain's motives; the hero society created them, and they want to destroy it. It clearly needs to be destroyed, since without it we wouldn't even be facing such massive villainous forces. Lot of villains are the bad guys just because they like being bad, but so many have goals and ideals that have them oppose the society, and many others were rejected and downtrodden due to the society. A fun case of the villains being right, but going about it the wrong way. And heroes being wrong, for the right reasons
@@whatwecalllife7034 that’s the thing, a persons personality is affected by their quirk, however that wasn’t Toga’s problem, her problem was that her parents and the people around her were forcing her to “act normal” and deny everything about her quirk. All of her impulses and desires eventually built up inside of her and burst like a damn and that’s how we got the incident at her school. If she had gotten true help and acceptance from those around her, she wouldn’t have fallen off the deep end.
If you watch the ED for this episode, they added a shot of when Toga wrapped her handkerchief around Twice, then it changes to her by herself looking depressed
I love how MHA humanizes the villains. Yes, they are bad people but they are just people. Crappy circumstances and bad early influences have shaped them into who they are. If things were different, Twice would make an amazing hero. But it’s not just his tragic story, look at other villains like Gentle and Stain. I love how this shows the tragic circumstance of its villains!! It remind me of how they show all the tragic situations of the hero’s in Seven Deadly Sins
From what I remember Stain wasn't bad circumstances, he was just mentally deranged, obsessed with his ideology for heroes and how All Might represented it.
I can't really blame Hawks for this either, Twice was more dangerous than almost all of the league combined, he had to be neutralized. I hate that he had to kill Twice, but respect him for doing what needed to be done.
Twice is a legitimate problem for the heroes, if hawks failed to neutralize him here the raid was most likely a complete wash simply because of Sad Man's Parade
4:26, lupa was too funny when suneater was going vast hybrid, lupa is too funny, but man, in the manga, it hurt but in the anime, it was on another level, but the most funniest thing ever, when roshi and lupa talking about when dabi said hawks full name, that was hilarious
With Hawks killing, he mentions that guys like Twice are the worst for heroes to deal with, guys that are too strong willed. Only option for people like that is to kill them. A hero that'd prefer not to kill but has no issue acknowledging it's needed at times. Love him.
It was established with the Dabi double in Season 3 and the Garaki double in the first episode of this season that Aizawa’s Erasure can’t erase Twice’s doubles. He can erase the double’s quirk, but not the double themselves. Yeah Bones was in their bag this episode. They pulled out all the stops to make this a baller episode. Everything from the voice acting to the soundtrack really elevated the story, and the story itself was naturally gripping.

I got the impression she meant the clones already made would turn to goop after Aizawa looked but they wouldn't. As she said 'all of his copies would go poof'. But the ones already made would not. They already explained that it wouldn't make the clones disappear once they are made and just turn off quirk in that other episode.

Twice isn't a bad person for wanting to help his friends and see them happy, but when three of his friends want solely to murder and hurt a lot of people just because they want to. He really just should've taken a step back for a second. Shigaraki and Dabi don't care about reforming society or politics, they just want pure blind-revenge and don't care who they take it out on; it'd never be truly enough. Toga just wants to turn the people she has a crush on into Capri-Suns and become them; some kind of drink their blood and wear their skin type serial-killer bullshit.
I can see why he sticks with them. For someone like him who was ravaged mentally and suffering alone, the league means everything since they’re like family and saved him when everyone else had thrown him away If it was normal friendship, I would be wayyyyyy more critical of his decision to help the league
What is this character assassination?? Dabi literally while fighting hawks talks about how he embodies the hero killer stain's ideals to destroy false heroes, and later is revealed that his true vendetta is with endeavor "the fakest of fakes" who abused him as a child, although that doesn't make him a good person since he wanted to destroy shouto just as much regardless of the fact that shouto was put through the same hardships and is his brother because endeavor would be saddened by him dying. Shigaraki during season five when he "perfects" himself (beating the leader of the paranormal liberation front, voice becoming uniform, hair turning white) abandons his connections to his family holding him back and becomes yes, an embodiment of evil, but also freedom. He wants to destroy society for letting someone like him able to exist, not just merely because he hates it. Also the paranormal liberation front isn't an exactly evil organization either, as their ideals would prevent the creation of people like himiko toga to begin with, which the reporter person from the hearts and minds party tells her to her face. Which ties into my third point on toga, the only reason she likes to transform into people is because her quirk compulses her to do so and she was clearly shunned and never shown true affection growing up because of her quirk, so this is the only "love" she's ever known. We can see she's capable of ACTUAL relationships with people like twice IN THIS EPISODE, and if the paranormal liberation front had this way, her life would've never gotten this bad to begin with, which is the type of world shigaraki is indirectly trying to create. In addition to this, her ACTUAL goal herself is to make the world an easier place to live in, BECAUSE of how much she was shunned for her quirk, which she literally says when she's introduced with dabi by grian. The most you have for one-directional "evil" characters within the league are like moonfish (teeth guy) and muscular, everyone else could've been saved or has some deeper motive and goal. Basically, ALL THREE of these characters care about society and politics man. its the entire point of my hero.

This hit me harder than I expected. I knew it was coming from the manga, but I didn’t expect to cover it all in one episode. Really happy they did though, it made it so much more emotional
This episode was…stunning. So let’s start with Class B being on the field. Mudman stands strong as Class B’s strongest member. He at his WEAKEST can effect entire buildings and can EASILY immobilize hundreds with his quirk. And one of 6 quirks I think can actually best Tokoyami of the classmates, and the other 5 are all main characters. Shemage does kinda prove my points I’ve made about her in season 5. Outside her force choke, her quirk is VERY hard to apply. And with these liberation warriors, the ONLY move she has is the force choke. Does it make THAT move any less good? No it still can stop just about anyone in their tracks. (Though I do question the morality of stripping someone’s access to oxygen intentionally. Even if it doesn’t kill. It ABSOLUTELY could. War isn’t the time to ask, I know, but anything resembling strangling can never be considered self defense because ONLY aggressors use such means. It’s an action so aggressive that makes self defense apply to everyone else.) Ok. Tokoyami and Redestro. Redestro has the best emotional quirk. I’m VERY honest about that. If he hadn’t lopped off his own legs last season, I have no doubt he would’ve overpowered dark shadow. BOTH of them can destroy a city at maximum power. Because we can’t even confirm he went to 100% in that moment. He takes that hulking sludge appearance at 80%. And the fact it’s a possibility he could have overpowered Dark Shadow WITHOUT 100% goes to show how tough Redestro truly is. (By now I can only assume Claustro has been rebuilt by now for Redestro’s emergency 150%.) I mean think about it, Tokoyami used the Dark Shadow that OBLITERATED THE FOREST at summer camp. (Red eyes being the signal) That’s a HUGE red flag of power. And for Dark shadow to RETURN submissive. As much as I want to say Tokoyami willed that, I can’t guarantee that because of what he said about Gigantomachia. And I think it’s more accurate to say Dark Shadow is actually scared stiff of Machia. DARK SHADOW AT MAXIMUM mind you is the size of Machia’s…well…I can only eyeball, and from what I saw, Redestro and Dark Shadow are approximately the size of ONE butt cheek. And Machia grows in combat. So that’s NORMAL SIZE MACHIA. Hoooooo boy. Also Machia is a living breathing person. (He just lives and breathes for his master.) Not a proper Nomu. His body handles MANY quirks without modification. And I think one of them helps him conserve ENORMOUS amounts of energy. (I’ve learned like 3-4 of the 7 do that.) And that’s why he can fight for 2 days straight without eating and only needs to sleep like…I don’t know, 4 hours I think? So his body function should be back to normal if it dropped at all after months of training with Shigaraki. Machia actually willingly joined AFO and was his bodyguard. (Even though AFO prime at least is still stronger. But now, Machia is the only creature to be on par with All-Might/AFO prime in this show. And he’s uninjured.) Here’s why it’s so strange Dabi knows Hawk’s true name. And he doesn’t recognize Dabi and Dabi is the ONLY league member who has never had their identity uncovered by the government. Back in Season 3 when Bakugo was kidnapped, Gran Torino rallied off the names of every league member except Shigaraki (which was later revealed as Tenko Shimura.) and Dabi. Knowing names of heroes is not impossible. Ending is the perfect example. Knowing the name of Hawks and Endeavor is as different of knowing the name of a cop, and knowing the name of an undercover FBI agent raised by the government. (Hawks is the public safety commission hero. He doesn’t mind his work at all, he just wishes that the public safety doesn’t pretend to give him choices he doesn’t have. He’s happy to serve.) Also Dabi is a sociopath. His emotions are hyper dulled out. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t get emotional or even empathetic, it’s just much harder for him to do. Psychopaths are straight born without empathy. And let’s get into the final point. Hawks and Twice. Yeah, we all hate to see it happen. But there was LITERALLY no other choice. It’s so sad because Twice is morally harmless, and everything he said aligns with a VERY easy case for self defense and defense of another if the circumstances were even the SLIGHTEST bit different. This really is his family. It’s like finding a band of murderers chilling with a normal dude, but the normal one is dangerous with their resources and although he knows nothing and means no harm, HE has to be taken away because he makes the band of murderers WAY more dangerous than they would be otherwise. Twice can destroy the country single handedly. Unlike almost all other quirks, the more he uses his quirk, the faster he gets. There’s no cap. And the danger isn’t him specifically, the danger is if he doubles OTHER things. Like Nomus, or MUCH MUCH worse, Machia or AFO. Doubling those is NO different than getting another one of them on the field. Why? Because the double can withstand the force of a broken bone of the one he doubles. And AFO at 1/60th of his power (presumably to match All-Might’s power drop) can take a CITY TORNADO TO THE FACE WITHOUT BREAKING ANYTHING. And the fact a mini Nomu had double means they were ONE step away from that quirk being given to Shigaraki and/or AFO. If Twice ever doubled Machia or AFO, or if AFO or Shigaraki ever obtained double, the show ENDS. That’s INSTAWIN. That’s why Hawks HAD to kill Twice. It’s the saddest thing because he ABSOLUTELY could have rehabilitated. Get the whole group therapy and a place to live and they’d be fine. (After some prison time for the more dangerous murderers of the group.) It’s always important to remember that murderers truly are only monsters for a moment. They aren’t pure freaks of nature and can be reasoned with save for certain exceptions. And those are the ones with the deliberate choice to be evil, and those born without empathy. (Psychopaths being the latter. Which no one in the league is. Not even the sadist Shigaraki.) Sadly it’s not so simple as to dangle a new life in front of them. Especially if they don’t understand what they do is so INCREDIBLY wrong. This episode was ROUGH. And this season JUST started.

Characters like Hawks always have to make a difficult choice which makes me like them even more. As much as I can be sympathetic to Twice I am grateful that Hawks didn't get emotional and did the right thing. I am of the opinion that Hawks was right here.

8:39 Not exactly. I believe they established in the first episode of the season that clones do not disappear with Aizawa's quirk. They got the doctor, used Aizawa's quirk and it only removed the quirk. Only when it took damage from the nomu did it melt/goop away.

I'm sad barely any reaction channels have given much hype to Tokoyami's Ragnarok attack. I was SO HYPE at seeing that Move in the Manga, it makes so much sense to do in a dark hallway for his powers.
Hawks and Endeavor are my favorite characters for a reason. It's their complexity. I didn't cate about Twice and the anime didn't make me care about him either, but seeing it play out animated was really nice. I've been done with Dabi since the very first chapter he showed up, and I still am, I want him gone LMAO.

the saddest part about twice's death is that it wasn't on purpose. hawks actually liked twice but since he was such a problematic villain, he needed to be disabled. he purposefully avoided all the vital areas and was planning on carrying him out, he even shouted not to move because that would seriously damage him, but he just didn't want dabi to hold back for his sake.

I love how MHA humanizes the villains. Yes, they are bad people but they are just people. Crappy circumstances and bad early influences have shaped them into who they are. If things were different, Twice would make an amazing hero. But it’s not just his tragic story, look at other villains like Gentle and Stain. I love how this shows the tragic circumstance of its villains!! It remind me of how they show all the tragic situations of the hero’s in Seven Deadly Sins

I can't really blame Hawks for this either, Twice was more dangerous than almost all of the league combined, he had to be neutralized. I hate that he had to kill Twice, but respect him for doing what needed to be done.
Twice is a legitimate problem for the heroes, if hawks failed to neutralize him here the raid was most likely a complete wash simply because of Sad Man's Parade

It was established with the Dabi double in Season 3 and the Garaki double in the first episode of this season that Aizawa’s Erasure can’t erase Twice’s doubles. He can erase the double’s quirk, but not the double themselves.
Yeah Bones was in their bag this episode. They pulled out all the stops to make this a baller episode. Everything from the voice acting to the soundtrack really elevated the story, and the story itself was naturally gripping.

They already explained that it wouldn't make the clones disappear once they are made and just turn off quirk in that other episode.

Twice isn't a bad person for wanting to help his friends and see them happy, but when three of his friends want solely to murder and hurt a lot of people just because they want to. He really just should've taken a step back for a second. Shigaraki and Dabi don't care about reforming society or politics, they just want pure blind-revenge and don't care who they take it out on; it'd never be truly enough. Toga just wants to turn the people she has a crush on into Capri-Suns and become them; some kind of drink their blood and wear their skin type serial-killer bullshit.
I can see why he sticks with them. For someone like him who was ravaged mentally and suffering alone, the league means everything since they’re like family and saved him when everyone else had thrown him away
If it was normal friendship, I would be wayyyyyy more critical of his decision to help the league

Let's not forget that one of toga's crush is him, meaning she's able to love someone normally if they accept her for who she is.
What is this character assassination?? Dabi literally while fighting hawks talks about how he embodies the hero killer stain's ideals to destroy false heroes, and later is revealed that his true vendetta is with endeavor "the fakest of fakes" who abused him as a child, although that doesn't make him a good person since he wanted to destroy shouto just as much regardless of the fact that shouto was put through the same hardships and is his brother because endeavor would be saddened by him dying. Shigaraki during season five when he "perfects" himself (beating the leader of the paranormal liberation front, voice becoming uniform, hair turning white) abandons his connections to his family holding him back and becomes yes, an embodiment of evil, but also freedom. He wants to destroy society for letting someone like him able to exist, not just merely because he hates it. Also the paranormal liberation front isn't an exactly evil organization either, as their ideals would prevent the creation of people like himiko toga to begin with, which the reporter person from the hearts and minds party tells her to her face. Which ties into my third point on toga, the only reason she likes to transform into people is because her quirk compulses her to do so and she was clearly shunned and never shown true affection growing up because of her quirk, so this is the only "love" she's ever known. We can see she's capable of ACTUAL relationships with people like twice IN THIS EPISODE, and if the paranormal liberation front had this way, her life would've never gotten this bad to begin with, which is the type of world shigaraki is indirectly trying to create. In addition to this, her ACTUAL goal herself is to make the world an easier place to live in, BECAUSE of how much she was shunned for her quirk, which she literally says when she's introduced with dabi by grian.
The most you have for one-directional "evil" characters within the league are like moonfish (teeth guy) and muscular, everyone else could've been saved or has some deeper motive and goal. Basically, ALL THREE of these characters care about society and politics man. its the entire point of my hero.

This episode was…stunning. So let’s start with Class B being on the field. Mudman stands strong as Class B’s strongest member. He at his WEAKEST can effect entire buildings and can EASILY immobilize hundreds with his quirk. And one of 6 quirks I think can actually best Tokoyami of the classmates, and the other 5 are all main characters. Shemage does kinda prove my points I’ve made about her in season 5. Outside her force choke, her quirk is VERY hard to apply. And with these liberation warriors, the ONLY move she has is the force choke. Does it make THAT move any less good? No it still can stop just about anyone in their tracks. (Though I do question the morality of stripping someone’s access to oxygen intentionally. Even if it doesn’t kill. It ABSOLUTELY could. War isn’t the time to ask, I know, but anything resembling strangling can never be considered self defense because ONLY aggressors use such means. It’s an action so aggressive that makes self defense apply to everyone else.)
Ok. Tokoyami and Redestro. Redestro has the best emotional quirk. I’m VERY honest about that. If he hadn’t lopped off his own legs last season, I have no doubt he would’ve overpowered dark shadow. BOTH of them can destroy a city at maximum power. Because we can’t even confirm he went to 100% in that moment. He takes that hulking sludge appearance at 80%. And the fact it’s a possibility he could have overpowered Dark Shadow WITHOUT 100% goes to show how tough Redestro truly is. (By now I can only assume Claustro has been rebuilt by now for Redestro’s emergency 150%.) I mean think about it, Tokoyami used the Dark Shadow that OBLITERATED THE FOREST at summer camp. (Red eyes being the signal) That’s a HUGE red flag of power. And for Dark shadow to RETURN submissive. As much as I want to say Tokoyami willed that, I can’t guarantee that because of what he said about Gigantomachia. And I think it’s more accurate to say Dark Shadow is actually scared stiff of Machia. DARK SHADOW AT MAXIMUM mind you is the size of Machia’s…well…I can only eyeball, and from what I saw, Redestro and Dark Shadow are approximately the size of ONE butt cheek. And Machia grows in combat. So that’s NORMAL SIZE MACHIA. Hoooooo boy.
Also Machia is a living breathing person. (He just lives and breathes for his master.) Not a proper Nomu. His body handles MANY quirks without modification. And I think one of them helps him conserve ENORMOUS amounts of energy. (I’ve learned like 3-4 of the 7 do that.) And that’s why he can fight for 2 days straight without eating and only needs to sleep like…I don’t know, 4 hours I think? So his body function should be back to normal if it dropped at all after months of training with Shigaraki. Machia actually willingly joined AFO and was his bodyguard. (Even though AFO prime at least is still stronger. But now, Machia is the only creature to be on par with All-Might/AFO prime in this show. And he’s uninjured.)
Here’s why it’s so strange Dabi knows Hawk’s true name. And he doesn’t recognize Dabi and Dabi is the ONLY league member who has never had their identity uncovered by the government. Back in Season 3 when Bakugo was kidnapped, Gran Torino rallied off the names of every league member except Shigaraki (which was later revealed as Tenko Shimura.) and Dabi. Knowing names of heroes is not impossible. Ending is the perfect example. Knowing the name of Hawks and Endeavor is as different of knowing the name of a cop, and knowing the name of an undercover FBI agent raised by the government. (Hawks is the public safety commission hero. He doesn’t mind his work at all, he just wishes that the public safety doesn’t pretend to give him choices he doesn’t have. He’s happy to serve.) Also Dabi is a sociopath. His emotions are hyper dulled out. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t get emotional or even empathetic, it’s just much harder for him to do. Psychopaths are straight born without empathy.
And let’s get into the final point. Hawks and Twice. Yeah, we all hate to see it happen. But there was LITERALLY no other choice. It’s so sad because Twice is morally harmless, and everything he said aligns with a VERY easy case for self defense and defense of another if the circumstances were even the SLIGHTEST bit different. This really is his family. It’s like finding a band of murderers chilling with a normal dude, but the normal one is dangerous with their resources and although he knows nothing and means no harm, HE has to be taken away because he makes the band of murderers WAY more dangerous than they would be otherwise. Twice can destroy the country single handedly. Unlike almost all other quirks, the more he uses his quirk, the faster he gets. There’s no cap. And the danger isn’t him specifically, the danger is if he doubles OTHER things. Like Nomus, or MUCH MUCH worse, Machia or AFO. Doubling those is NO different than getting another one of them on the field. Why? Because the double can withstand the force of a broken bone of the one he doubles. And AFO at 1/60th of his power (presumably to match All-Might’s power drop) can take a CITY TORNADO TO THE FACE WITHOUT BREAKING ANYTHING. And the fact a mini Nomu had double means they were ONE step away from that quirk being given to Shigaraki and/or AFO. If Twice ever doubled Machia or AFO, or if AFO or Shigaraki ever obtained double, the show ENDS. That’s INSTAWIN. That’s why Hawks HAD to kill Twice. It’s the saddest thing because he ABSOLUTELY could have rehabilitated. Get the whole group therapy and a place to live and they’d be fine. (After some prison time for the more dangerous murderers of the group.) It’s always important to remember that murderers truly are only monsters for a moment. They aren’t pure freaks of nature and can be reasoned with save for certain exceptions. And those are the ones with the deliberate choice to be evil, and those born without empathy. (Psychopaths being the latter. Which no one in the league is. Not even the sadist Shigaraki.) Sadly it’s not so simple as to dangle a new life in front of them. Especially if they don’t understand what they do is so INCREDIBLY wrong.
This episode was ROUGH. And this season JUST started.

the saddest part about twice's death is that it wasn't on purpose. hawks actually liked twice but since he was such a problematic villain, he needed to be disabled. he purposefully avoided all the vital areas and was planning on carrying him out, he even shouted not to move because that would seriously damage him, but he just didn't want dabi to hold back for his sake.
