So sorry SEALs were lost God bless all of them.
I love the narrator's voice.watching from Kenya 🇰🇪
This entire operation to take the airfield was a disaster. I remember watching a different show on this and the US Military expert said "You don’t send SEALs to seize an airfield, that's what the Army Rangers are there for" and I agree.
Why is it a better job for the army rangers?
@@80bbygrl Late response but one of the army rangers Mission Essential Task (MET) is to seize airfields with numbers preferably 3:1 Ratio as mentioned in the video. Seals work in smaller teams and complete mission that require finesse. Seals lost their lives because higher ups were underestimated our “enemy”. Sorry for the long winded response ~ 2LT Army Engineer
The mission “Ruby Seven” in “Janes AH-64D Longbow” rewrites it that AH-64s destroyed the Learjet with AGM-114s; that would have been a massive lifesaver for the SEALs.
Our military men and women deserve more. 👍
Yes, agree
One thing I don't understand is why the SOC didn't do a Com's check in the prior training. In retrospect, we wouldn't have had as many casualties during this operation. It kills me to see this kind of loss and/or negligence. We must ALWAYS make sure we know ALL details and be at least 90% certain of our missions before we go in!
USMC OEF VET
God Bless our military forces. They are the very best. Especially our Navy Seals. Truly one of a kind. Perfect in every sense of the word. Thank you gentlemen for all you’ve done for US.
Rip in peace for all the men and women who died for our country and for the freedom of others.
Imagine how much easier it would have been for the seals if they could have done it the way they were trained, and gone in and took them out without anyone knowing they were even there, instead of waiting to be fired upon first. That was pretty much a death trap.
Much luv for our armed forces!
It was not a mission that was “good” for the SEALS. Read the comment above yours for a great explanation.
Exactly
Just like brave AMERICANS that they will take on ALL challenges! Bless their heart 💓 for their good works to bring such tyrants to justice!
Wow !!! They left those brave men to die for 90 mins !!!!! God Bless our finest of warriors 🙏.
Mike dillion should be starring in a real SEALS movie. This guy knows how to act.

How did a frogman on Team 4 earn his trident halfway on his way to Panama is Beyond me.. hahahahahah
No Nick am too and thankful that we have real heroes that sacrifice themselves and families for our freedom and to serve with dignity our country. God bless and protect them before, now and in the future. amen
I really thought this is a documentary, instead it's a mini-movie.

There is a problem with the sound. The commentary is partially covered by the sound track.
I believe the problem is the result of compressing surround sound audio into stereo.
I was part of a small team sent down there by the Chief of Staff of the Army to evaluate the performance of Army units. As such, I sat-in on some of the daily briefings for the CJTF, as well as interviews with special operations commanders. The central issue here was that all the armed forces wanted to get-in on the action, even if the "action" could be more efficiently done by others. In this case, one 105mm round from the USAF AC-130 would kill Noriega's jet. Or several 40mm rounds. "Boots on the ground" by SEALs or Army Rangers at Punta Paitilla was unnecessary, IMHO. But the Navy special operations insisted on participation, the airport was close to the ocean, and so they were given the mission and used the SEALs. Alerted by the noise of firing at the Commandancia (PDF HQ in Panama City) the Panama Defense Force (PDF) guards were on their toes, expecting a raid on the airport. The SEAL attack was across an open airfield. One of the SEAL squads stood up, close together on the tarmac to move to another position to block approaching PDF vehicles. It was a perfect target, and one PDF soldier fired a five-second burst, killing 4 and wounding 8. Needless deaths. Some people said that the 105mm or 40mm from the AC-130 would violate rules of engagement by causing collateral damage. Really? Well, what about the collateral damage from the automatic weapons of the PDF and the SEALs spraying through the surrounding neighborhood? There was confusion as to whether the mission was to destroy the jet or disable the jet. Destroying meant an AC-130 could do the job, assuming they knew what hangar the airplane was in. Disabling meant that someone (the SEALs) had to get close enough to slash the tires or damage the landing gear. I inspected Noriega's Learjet, and I recall (it WAS 33 years ago!) it had taken a hit from a LAW or AT-4 up near the cockpit. Read "Operation Just Cause: The Storming of Panama" by Thomas Donnelly. Pages 113-120. The other SEAL missions that night for Task Force White were quite successful. Hope some of this is helpful.
You are correct, it was a waste of good men. One pass with ac and done deal.
Thank you sir !
Well said.
The thing is, to capture Noriega, they HAD to insert a spec ops team. True, they could have done some of it from a distance, but capturing Noriega couldn't.
@@jamesstreet228 Of course other special operations teams had to be inserted. In fact, others were inserted, and some were tracking after Noriega. SFOD-D, SEALs, and Army Special Forces teams were all involved. One team rescued the imprisoned US citizen. Another team went after PDF boats. Another team stopped PDF reinforcements at the Pacora River bridge. And others. There were more than a few SPECOPS missions going on concurrently and for the most part they were highly successful.
Recommended readings are JUST CAUSE by Malcolm McConnell and OPERATION JUST CAUSE by Thomas Donnelly, Margaret Roth, and Caleb Baker.
My point is NOT that special operations missions were neither unnecessary nor inappropriate. Rather my point IS that the specific mission at Punta Patilla airport could have been more easily accomplished by other means than sending a SEAL team across an open area against an alerted PDF force. Poor intelligence, unrehearsed/unconnected communications with AC-130 and gunships, lack of supporting gunships (committed to other operations--there are never enough!) and a mistake in tactics dogged that team and caused the casualties.
The mission was more apropos to a US Army Ranger platoon -- who are specifically trained in airfield seizure. Seals NEVER operate in such large units -- it's not what they do...
That's is the absolute truth...
Much respect to these warriors but this mission wasn't well thought out
@@trentcruise3084 How is Davis wrong?
At all smh
is mike dylan rambo?
I mean seriously he is always in all the special missions
Hehe me too, I noticed it.. even that person name walker.. always being there.. maybe bec they are the heads or higher ranks who leads the operation
7:31 how did that guard not see them especially that one SEAL that just walked right in front of him💀
The reason for the botch airfield raid was due to high ranking officials tring to show off who had the best units. Back then there was competition between branches of who was the best of the best.
I was always surprised they used SEALs to take the airfield. That’s usually Army Rangers wheelhouse.
i would of just sent an AC-130 to destroy the airport and call it a day.
Intelligence and Communications .... stuff of pipe hitting legends
I loved SEALS!
Seals love America.
Seals don't take airports, Rangers do, seals take seaports!
Thats exactly what I said. I know for a fact the seals on this ocasion had Rangers come to help. Where is that in this story. I know my brothers were Rangers and a good friends brother was a Ranger and had Noreagas cowboy hat. Ive put it on myself.
Tell the Admiral to get a hair cut, just wrong! SNAFU!
Scott Glenn narrating. Terrific actor.
If the command structure couldn't reach the c130 on encrypted frequencies then they should have used unencrypted, which they have plenty of for regular communication tasks. Bogus reasons for not supporting the seals at the airport.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO ,, love from Sweden ❤
This is what happens when State Department bureaucrats stick their fat noses into what ought to be solely a military operation. America found out long ago in Vietnam that bureaucratic "rules of engagement" were just another way to get our soldiers killed. The diplomats were so scared that some Panamanian civilians might get killed that they would not allow bombing the airfield or destroying the hangar with the Spectre. When non-military types take control of military decisions and start dictating "rules" to the troops, casualties are going to double or triple. Our planners and decision makers have learned nothing in the last 70 years.
Read the comment by 4325air for a great comment by someone who was “there” and on the inside. I too was there and, to your point, the US Army tried to avoid collateral damage, but as happens in combat, civilians were wounded and killed.
They really broke that guys neck just for a training exercise.
The description of this video actually belongs to this one and vice versa. heh... "Navy SEALs Breach Dangerous Rebel Set Up In Embassy Building | Navy SEALs S1 EP3"
have a nice day
This demonstrates how Comms are most important.
Not admissible to not having a proper comms plan for backup (like Army SF do), and the JSOC not being able to contact the plane is a absolute shame!!! We are not speaking of a small team under a jungle cap, but a fully powered (400W+ HF, hipower VHF/UHF, etc.) plane !!!!!! Than it would pacth it through!!
But I don't understand what was the AC-130 support:
Devastating the inside of the hangar ? 😄🤪
Keeping APCs away it's a good support, but otherwise....
Check how the guys in the plane were seeing what was going on, but without a radio comm could not engage, lacking ground coordination.
A lot of risk to avoid damage to a plane🤪😄
At the end the plane took a direct hit😄. A few snipper shots and the landing gear would be off.
Nowadays it would be better planed.
It's called crosstalk jamming. anyone who's ever used a CB knows what I mean. U get too many radios keyed up on the same frequency at the same time, it jams it to the point of being white noise. what it looks like happened here is dead carrier jamming, someone got killed while their mic was keyed up. they fixed this by switching to digital radios. those old analogue sets were prone to being easily jammed. They also put timers on the mics so if someone gets hit while the mic is open, the radio will shut down after a couple minutes.
Yeah!!! I also can't believe that they sent them in like that....Shame the lives lost!!
@@raymondtorres-gy8uj you are right, sir....👍👍
I'm the only one who thinks that i'm watching a 90's movie?
Nick Jr. nope lol
Nah lol they have them wearing things seals will never wear like using aks they use American guns not Russian😭
Hip fire all the way
When the red landline phone rang in this episode, i paused the video and checked my phone, lol
Couldn't they have just sent in the ac 130 to unload on the damn hangar..?
No need to risk the lives of dozen aircrews to level a hanger, just send in couple of cruise missiles.
They wanted to make their own version of the Expandables
They couldn't, as they wanted to keep the Island safe, so they could hand it over without too much damage.
That's why they had strict rules of engagement.
They wanted to capture Noriega at the airfield though.
@@muizzmustafa4438 Panama isn't an island.
You send Army Rangers to take down Air Fields, Not Navy Seals !
Why is that?
@@80bbygrlbecause they are specifically trained more in that area. But seals are also good for the Job as long as they have a CCT attached they are like "rangers".
Why didn’t they just use the ac130 gunship to destroy his plane? Seems like it would have been much safer for our guys!
44:30 haven't bad guys realized it's not wise to take cover behind flammable barrels lol
Same thought. I was like, Why would they hide there? But the fact that they started firing just so that they can inflict a minor injury on the enemy means they have a death wish... They don't care if they die just as long they'll take down one more seal with them 🤦🏼♀️
does anybody has the IMDB page for this Navy SEALs Documentary Series?
I wonder who made that fire Score track during the siege
Thank you my brothers and sisters who served
What were the problem with US radios in ops during earlier wars like Vietnam, korean and now this Panama ops
I didnt know the Somalia Embassy was in Panama 😅😂😅😂😅😂

State Department needs to stay out of military affairs/plans!!!!
The SD has to rely heavily on the US military. It’s structured this way for many reasons, and no system is perfect.

im getting deeper into it now :c
Wtf this is good doc
The dumbest use ever of SEAL platoons. They were never designed for frontal fights.
Rangers are trained to take airports, not SEALS
Wonder Videos always got me talking to the screen like they can hear me. SMH. Anyone else?
Wow! Amazing video! Thankyou
I just don’t understand, if the seals could still talk to JSOC then why couldn’t they relay the message to the C-130?!
politics always
Ok someone please explain, if the objective is to destroy/take out the plane why would you send in 48 seals to do it if you have a C130 Gunship flying overhead armed to the max and could take out the plane with one shot, there was no reason for this
since you have asked for explanation, the initial objective was to avoid any collateral damage and only to disable the aircraft (slash the tires).😂 👍

Commander Mike Dellan live long sir
I couldn't hear what was being said anyway, the music was so damn loud.
And half this video is so dark that I can't really see what's happening...
Too many seals on one mission especially when loosing one is like loosing ten men. 10 navy seals could have prob pulled this off with minimal casualties.
tactical expert over here
You got your titles mixed up. You put the wrong title on this video. This title is for the other video you recently posted.
Rest in peace ISSAC..🙏
27:31 the bat phone
What Drama Queen wrote that script? That's not the type of chatter that you'd hear during a military operation, not even a blown operation. Everybody at JSOC and the CO on the ground knew that Norreaga wouldn't show up at that airfield once the American troops were spotted. Come-on...
This is state dept. meddling in military.
I hate that the narration is too quiet. You can't hear it over the background noise. Perhaps the background should be quieter. Very annoying. Not worth it
At first I thought I was watching delta force movie
Background music way too loud.
Amezing RVS ❤️
What a pain to listen to with so much background noise
Now Noriega is a can of Sardines... Bhwahahahahahahaha..
The state department
they are not a wise navy seal they are in the open area their enemy is in the possession
RIP SEALs
Did anyone else realize that the description doesn't match the video?
Why did they approach the aircraft shelter directly from the front and not the side then team Bravo reinforce them at the same place that is just stupid I think
Denzar: I agree!
Isn't noriega the guy from Call of Duty:Black ops 2
Who is the narrator? Love his voice.
the background music is louder than the commentary
What happened to the officer who would not sign off on the operation?
The narrator is barely heard due to the loud background sound...
you should change the title of the video
IF YOU WATCHING CAN WE HAVE A HURRA FOR OUR HEROES, REMEMBER THEY FIGHT FOR YOUR FREEDOM AND FOR AMERICA GOD BLESS THEM AND GOD BLESS AMERICA HURRAA
how the hell does someone get their trident on their way to a combat operation. if he didnt have a trident...he wasnt a seal yet. if he wasnt a seal, he wouldnt be operational
"Intelligence" officer who cannot even find his own base. Hehehehe! That's hilarious. 🤣
Did this Dylan guy actually exist? He is the chuck norris of this thing.
you have to question the high command

Sadly as an uninformed non-American I came away with 3 takes; 1) I highly respect them for still going into that suicide mission knowing it was a suicide mission once the rules of engagement came in (then again not knowing if no was an option lol).
2) The people who sent down that order I hope they felt the wrath for that because it genuinely seems like patriots died unnecessarily.
3) Of course this happened when Bush was in President 🤦🏽♂️🤣
Dullest operation in history they should have just sent in aircraft to destroy the plane
Actually I was watching a documentary about this, and I boldly remember,
"Army Rangers Take down Air Bases, not Navy SEALs". So it should have been the Army Rangers, you sent an aircraft, intell could have been lost.
Yeah right bro. Dumb operation
instead of sending a single man with a rocket launcher
In this scenario, yes bring a suppressed weapon but I would have recommended all soldiers be equipped with either 40mm high explosive or cluster m203 or at least a few AT4s with a no restrictions use if the soldiers get pinned down as it’s a military airport if there are armed military soldiers inside.
Or, I would reinforce the SEALS with a light mechanized company with additional air support prioritized to their sector like the AC-130 gunship.

you should not have any lost or injury that day .you waited too long to eliminate the PDF
Let's pray none of the seals committed suicide after discharge from military. Odds are high 20+©

I don't know much, but walking down the runway with no cover at all seems very stupid. Flank left and right, and pop up out of sight.
