You are such an inspiring person! I'm 15 years old from USA and I've always been a tennis fan but I've never played competitively. Thanks to your video, I've decided to try out for my high school team in March and I just made a USTA account to hopefully start playing tournaments this summer. Keep going in your journey bro!
Good Luck mate, I started playing professionally with 14 (am 15 now), and you gain such experience and confidence. One tip I can give you, is: Train as much as you can, always focus on training, and it does not matter, if you lose a game, or make a bad shot, try to play as good as you can, but don't stress if you make bad shots.
Really tough "substitute opponent". But just this kinda matches will battle-harden your mentality and test and develop your game. Embrace the challenge and you will come out triumphant! Keep up that positive fighting spirit!
@@tennisbrothers Yup. Most likely! At least I would heavily lean towards that possibility! :D (You've been thrown in the deep end from the outset, it seems. And it should only get easier therefrom.) The first win gets closer and closer anyway - and then the next one, and the next ..and so forth. Step by step up the ladder, young man! Patience, determination, confidence and hard work! It all will pay off. - Okay. Looking forward to the episode #5. Your exciting tennis journey to become a succesful pro player/ATP Tour regular one day - it is quite an interesting story in its own right and, suddenly, one of my favourite "shows"! Thanks for sharing this personal and as such always unique and compelling experience.
@@tennisbrothers i just saw a few of your recent videos and based on shots and rythm you are not far from your opponent. You have a strong will, very good technical skills, footwork, and physic. It's just a matter of keep trying and eventually it will just click! Good luck! Many of us the viewers have played competitively and never got to your current level, but I have played against ATP ranked players and you will definitely get there pretty soon! I love your attitude even in a loss to learn from it.This process is something that you are embracing and its great to see.The more you play matches like this one the stronger you will become and will eventually find a way to win these matches. Good luck brother! I'm a huge Djokovic fan from Serbia living in Canada and loved watching him grow as a player. I’m 15 and train 4 hours a day now. I’m pretty good but have only competed once. The tournament style was a super set which means you play 1 set against 3 players. I won all three sets. I love your videos Felix they teach me a lot!
I keep saying this but you really are such an inspiring person! im 13, been a tennis fan and started playing for about 5 years. I should be starting playing some club matches in april but im finding it hard with my serve. But keep going with your amazing career ahead of you
thanks alfie, i am glad to hear you feel inspired, that makes me super happy, good luck in your club matches, if you keep practicing your serve will get better also 🙌
You lit up the fire in me again! I am 15 years old and I had a really bad wrist injury 8 months ago and it still hurts,.but because of you, I decided to play tennis competitivly again. I will go abroad to a boarding school in England with an intern tennis academy this summer and I am really looking forward to it.
I've been playing tennis since the 90's when I was your age..played a few opens (local) and a few state sponsored tourneys. All I can say is it has been 12 years since I last touched a racquet and you're inspiring me to do it again. Keep it up kid..
Thank you for the AWESOME content Felix! I'm 11 years old and tennis is my life lol. discovered this channel two months ago. This is now my favorite one!!!
I think one of the things I love about your videos is how your commitment to improving and your love for the sport is giving you the confidence to be self-critical and appreciative of your opponent’s strengths. There’s something about your mix of humility and ambition that feels genuinely worth aspiring to.
Tough match my friend, but I could see you were giving it your all even in that wild match point! It's still early so just keep on grinding and getting more match play in, and I know you'll be able to start racking up some wins. Thanks for the fantastic videos! Im really enjoying this series.
Love this. Sent it to college tennis playing daughter. Opponents like this who set up with hips very open to the court HATE balls down the middle and hate off pace stuff. Even short balls, they hate short middle balls where they have to move around to the side of the ball. They love being pushed out wide probably because it turns their shoulders automatically. Go deep middle high spinny , low flat, short chip all at the right hip, then when you get weak short ball, attack and THEN you can use angles. Of course change it up too. You’re an incredible player with a great future!
Nice Job felix 👍🏼 I'm currently 13 soon 14 and I've been training in Cambodia with the top 2 player there for 2 years now. I'm soon going to get an itf account and play tournament in South East Asia. You're and inspiration keep going 💪

I think it was good that you faced a tougher opponent. Thats the type of game that you will look back to as experience and mental toughness. Must say that im a fan bro. Not everybody dares to follow their dreams and let alone make the necessary sacrifices needed to do what you are doing right now. Keep it up champ. That ATP point is coming, i can see it.
Im avid tennis fan and just came across your channel. Keep following your dreams. Every loss is a learning experience for you. Keep at it! You seem to be doing everything possible to be in your best form. I know it’s very hard to do and easier said than done but try and not play the scoreboard too much. You’ll play more freely that way. Your channel is very inspiring. I wish you all the best! I’ll definitely recognise your name when you get to the main tour 😊
Respect! That guy was a monster - solid strokes and he can volley. This highlights the need for a big weapon - he looks like he has one - his forehand. You correctly diagnosed the problem. He is putting a lot of forehands against your backhand . Your backhand needs to be solid enough to get to his backhand or an angled slice that stays low may also work. Easier said than done, of course. A tough opponent like this can kill your confidence. Use it to motivate yourself and train harder. His skills did not come overnight. Stick with it!
Hi Felix Thank you for listening to my suggestion and adjusting the timing of the commentary. It was really fun to watch This way but it’s sad to see you go out of the tournament like this. Good luck in the next tournament! Keep fighting .

Hey Felix, I find myself continuing to comment on each of your videos as the quality is just superb. I really truly enjoy the content you put out and watching your journey is so fun. Tough games, your opponent was good, his placement was pretty stellar. I think the only thing I can say is try to learn from each and every opponent and try to never get down about losses. Remember, sometimes you have to lose just to win again, you've got this dude! See you next week :)
I thought you played great and the margins were VERY fine. Stay positive and keep working. Your strokes and movement look really good. If I only saw these points, I would’ve guessed the score would’ve been much closer.
Thanks for this week’s episode Felix! Tough alternate opponent for sure and like you said it’s a learning experience. I was inspired to take part in a local tournament by your own journey. Keep it up and am supporting you all the way!
let's go felix! your opponent was very consistent and solid and his forehand was stronger than your. in this match your opponent didn't move too much, that's why he won a lot of points using his forehand. good luck for the future, i'm sure you will win a lot of matches in a few tournaments. good luck
First off, that was a great match, and you kept up with Riaridh very well! There are two ways that doubles players have a tendency to make themselves vulnerable, which can especially hurt them in singles situations. First, their serve tends to be slower than your conventional opponent so don't be afraid to step in on a doubles player's serve, as you will start to instill the fear in the other player that you can pass them easily when they're at net. Then he will be the one that is stressing out, and will probably not make as much of an effort against your big serve, and try to hold his own more. That's when you absolutely grind him on the baseline, and throw in passing shots if he is being dishonest about staying back and rallying. This player will do wonderful things in his future, and I think with patience and time, you will be good enough to be earning an ATP point! :)
massive inspiration. I'm about to start my high school tennis season, then I'm planning to play some tournaments over this summer. Great to see how you do all this stuff. Best of luck!

Good match, it must have been confusing that the first guy didn't show, but then the next guy that came was really good. Keep battling and practicing hard you are on the right journey!
Thank you for sharing further insights on your journey ! Now as for the match, there's a few things that could've done or change to disrupt your opponents play. First, I realized that a lot of your bigger groundstrokes hit the early court zone behind the service line or not too far into the 2nd zone. It would help you tremendously if you practice hitting more strokes that go nearer the baseline. My second point would be to disrupt your opponent tempo by trying different kind of strokes like higher deeper lifted balls since your adversary was using a lot of your tempo to create it's own. Though, it isn't obvious, nor easy to think on the fly when you're in the action so I'll give props for being ultra competitive in these tough conditions. Wish you good luck in the following weeks, hoping your first victory soon 😄
Adversity is good. It makes you realize which are the weaknesses that you need to work on. Like others have said, keep on grinding, your journey is like a marathon, not a sprint.
Im rooting for you Felix. Tough match. Keep grinding and find a way mentaly to construct points. What seperates great players from good players is the ability to construct points. Have a game plan and execute.
Your doing so well bro keep it up I know you’ll get that ATP point this year So not fair how that guy didn’t show up but you still had to play that match but you got it
Great video. With this guy you can just tell he is a great doubles player with his soft hand skills at the net. His whippy forehand also made a lot of damage. In your warm up you showed the sholders and hips opening exersice, it would be great if you can make separate video on this topic showing the exact movements you make. Keep up a great work you will get your win soon.
I haven't even been subscribed to you for 3 days but you have been such a inspiration for me. You just keep you head in the game, but I have one question. How do you stop being afraid at the net. I play mixed doubles in my school. I'm usally at the net but idk how to receive these fast balls towards me.
i would say practice standing really close and your reaction time will get very very good very quickly or practice doing volleys against a wall as this means you dont have a lot of time to think before the ball comes back at you
Great Vid..! Very tough Felix I'll do believe that some day you'll make it.. Learn from the video and hope for the best next time.. Still a big fan..! 🎾👍 Go Felix..!

ok, good idea 💡 👍
