@@baptoufragilise I have no idea who hi the fastest bh ever, and I kinda doubt that anyone knows.. I just know that Thiem has the highest average backhand speed in the Top 20 and Sinner the highest overall (followed by Klizan). But there are no "highest" ever stats. I don't even know the fastest of any specific player. But I know that the Gasquet one had 103 mph, that Nadal also had one with 103 and that Sinner and Thiem regularly hit bhs with appr. 100 mph. Thiem's fastest from this season I'm aware of is a 104 mph bh winner against Casper Ruud at RG (but that's a slam, so it won't be in any ATP videos I guess)
yes, my opinion is that there is many great one hander backhand on tour but Wawrinka is of another planet. i agree about power and accuracy ! his backhand it's just incredible !!!
The first Nadal one is amazing because he's running and stretched out a mile outside the court and STILL crushes it. A lot of these, the guy is planted and ready to hit a winner off a short ball.
Stefan Edberg used to have the most perfect backhand, in present days when I read this title I expect to have a 5 hours' video of Wawrinka, nobody else is even close
Funny how fast greatness is forgotten. Agassi's backhand was probably the best two-handed of his generation, maybe ever. How he takes it on the rise, can anybody else do that?
yeah, let's just not include the Top 3 player in the world who happens to have both the most effective and fastest bh according to stats, why not... lol (according to stats the best bh-attack-winner-ratio in top tennis has Thiem. The highest average bh speed has Sinner, followed by Klizan, followed by Thiem. and the highest peaking bh with respect to speed has Thiem (often around 100 mph, and he hit the so far fastest bh ever recorded (104 mph this year, followed by Nadal's and Gasquet's 103 mph, both in 2013)
It's interesting to note that despite its rarity, most of the players in this video are one-hand backhanders. The thing about it is that the OHBH is actually more powerful than the 2 hand BH, being that it has a bigger swing radius.
@@virajlakhotia9919 Fed has a better backhand? what have you been smoking. Djokovic has an all time great backhand, same goes for Davydenko, Ljubicic and Nalbandian. Federer has a good backhand, but it is not under the best
@@gherbihicham8506 Federer deserves to be in here, but with other shots. He's hit several above 95 mph and at least one above 100 mph, but they're largely missing.
I swear, Nadal's backhand is absolutely crazy!...especially the feat where his opponent comes into the net and gives the ball at one of the corners and Nadal hits it crosscourt, as he did with Nalbandian...he has done it so many times!!! His backhand is so underrated! It's is powerful and accurate, but it is often overshadowed by his forehand which he tends to hit more routinely. Additionally, on another note...Wawrinka, Thiem, Gasquet, and Shapo have the BEST single handers!!!
Thiem and wawrinka have most accurate, beautiful to watch and simply unbelievable backhands in my opinion. There are other single handed backhanders with Mr. Federer topping the list among others but they aren’t as consistent as those two guys. Among two handed backhanders, djoko for me belongs to another planet.
There seriously need to be more backhands by No1E. Just from all those Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome matches where he struck incredibly fast backhand winners.
Well-placed shots look faster, I think, because the distance covered per time relative to the distance from the lines is greater, so their speed is more impressive due to the placement.
SO many of these backhands don't have the speeds labeled (Shapovalov and Wavrinka) but of those speeds indicated... in mph... 1) Gasquet 1H - 103mph 2) Murray 2H - 99.5mph 3) Thiem 1H - 97.55mph 4) Gasquet 1H - 97mph 5) Nadal 2H - 96mph 6) Federer 1H - 91.3mph 7) Nadal 2H - 91mph 8) Murray 2H - 84.3mph GREAT VIDEO!!
I appreciate these compilations but only one backhand from the goat himself Dustin Brown? Kinda disappointed. You should have atleast included one backhand return from him against Nadal in Wimbledon or Halle :/
That Gasquet backhand will be shown in every backhand video ever.
And I still love it
And I think it still is the fastest backhand ever recorded? I may be wrong though
@@baptoufragilise there was one he hit against djoko that reached over 170 km/h I believe

FlipperNinja Thiem’s is better, he has both more spin and more power, honestly one of the best backhands in history

S!RENE OFFICIAL And it’s one-handed!

Yeah you'd have to be insane to think that Stan would not be featured here
Djokovic backhand is more powerful
I think Gasquet has the sickest backhand.
2:46 the most beautiful backhand ever
The shapo jumping backhand is a thing of beauty
The first Nadal one is amazing because he's running and stretched out a mile outside the court and STILL crushes it. A lot of these, the guy is planted and ready to hit a winner off a short ball.
glazing it
he's also hitting it in open stance instead of closed stance, which is way harder to put power on
The one-hander is so elegant and beautiful
One handers RULE!
5:12 "In tennis you cant hit every ball"
Fernando Gonzalez " Hold my beer"
fuck I miss that dude. The most exciting player for me.
3:10 when you're waiting for zverev to hit a lightning backhand but.....
Same here bro. Isner just shocked me
Still he calls himself one of the strongest players on tour
Zverev is highly overrated
I love how surprised the commentator sounds
Lmao
Anyone just recognised the first clip and was like *wait for it*... because you knew the killer backhand that was coming
ZICEABTDLLIK ZICEABTDLLIK Yeah totally. I’ve seen it so many times now it just like and boom.
6:57 how agassi have zero backswing and still generate that heat what a beast
Gasquet Backhand is pure art. Hats off Richard!
02:45 What a shot ! So beautiful, the french class.
I didn’t realize Thiem played Youzhny. Shapo jumping one hander is a rocket!
7:20 That shot tho.
Awesome collection! Nice to see Aggasi, Gonzales, Roddick in the mix.
Wawrinka Backhand .. just wonderful !

Thiem too
James Blake, too. Wonderful stroke

finally a video in 1080p. thank you
I'm amazed that Basilashvili is not once shown in this video.
'Cause they hate basilashvili... fuck haters )))
Right? Prolly the best 2 handed backhand on tour and basically no love is ever paid to it
@Var vlad You don't know a lot about tennis if you're dismissing basilashvili's backhand from the conversation outright like that XD
Thiem passing shot vs Nadal on Rome (I think, maybe Madrid) is missing, the one where he was practically backwards
Yup, that was a freaking rocket and from a nearly impossible position
that was possibly the most insane bh angle I've ever seen.. and the speed was insane too.. should be in every highlight video
True
13:20 the forehand was big but the backhand was just huuuuuuugeeee!
I just thought this video would be Wawrinka only.
Me too. I'm now going to look for Wawrinka only backhand highlights.
Shapovalov & Gasquet are regularly the most explosive with maybe few exceptional shots of Del potro.
2.47 wtf... smashing rocket by Gasquet
2:47
Gustavo Kuerten had one of the best backhand I have seen
Perfect!
That iconic Nadal backhand is something of a beauty and he hit against my favourite player Djokovic but I can watch that backhand all day.
That 103 mph backhand by Gasquet is untouchable
Gasquet's backhand has always been deadly, and when he's on, look out. 97 mph backhand, that's just insane
The title says fastest, yet you show backhands at 80-85 MPH speed... why cant these guys get it right

Wow, a powerful single hand backhand from Brown!
No disrespect to all the amazing talent on display here, but double handed backhands are so less sexier than single handed ones.
Sexier, but not as consistent or reliable.
It's not a classic shot
