Nice rig. I’m planning on doing something similar with a HX Stomp and SA Collider and some other random pedals. How long would you say this took you to figure out and assemble and is it easy to make new presets and if so, have many can be stored for n the bank at once?

Thanks! I’ve found it’s super easy to make presets. The Morningstar makes things a breeze. If you’re using an MC8 I think it’s 8 presets? I use bank jumps though to have even more for certain pedals. It didn’t take too long to assemble as the board isn’t too big of a board

Hello there! I am brand new to MIDI controllers and I have a question that maybe you can help with? I want to use the MC8 to switch between presets on my guitar plugins. Would you happen to know if I need an actual MIDI cable for this or can I just use a USB? I ask because my Focusrite interface doesn't have a MIDI cable option and I don't know how to get a MIDI cable to my laptop without an interface.

Hey! You should be able to use the usb jack on the mc8 communicate midi signals.

I just bought an MC 8 and I am wanting to connect the controller to my H9, BigSky and Asabi. What cables do I need and how do I program it?
I am a noob at midi and its my first time connecting midi. Do I connect a cable from H9 exp. Jack to midi out on MC8?

Hey Miguel, so for the BigSky you need to connect a standard midi cable from the “midi out” on the MC8 to the “midi in” on the BigSky. The Asabi needs a TRS cable from the midi Jack to one of the omniports on the mc8 and make sure that port is set to “midi out”. I’m not familiar with the H9 setup but if you look on Morningstars channel they just put a video up on how to control the H9 via midi

@@crispyairplane awesome, thank you so much for your fast reply. I have another question is the morningstar just a MIDI Controller or can it also act as a switcher for non-midi devices.

@@miguelperez1793 it’s just a midi controller, however you can pair it with a Morningstar ML5 which is a midi programmable loop switcher
