      Rightly so. Video games are the pinnacle art form. No other medium can incorporate so many facets of art. In a videogame, you can visit an art gallery and admire paintings and sculptures, listen to breathtaking music, and they now have top tier cinematic cutscenes and character driven stories. Also the potential to allow the player to drive the art in a direction they desire.

    • @UnchainedEruption
      @UnchainedEruption 3 года назад

      I don't really give a sh*t whether or not it's recognized by a room of stuffy old pretentious people as "proper art." It's kind of been plainly obvious to anyone who's played these things that very skilled artists at work making all the modeling, skyboxes, textures, level design, etc. Even gameplay itself done well enough can be a kind of art form. If it's "officially recognized" all that means is that the medium is old enough that the kids who grew up with it and love it now outnumber those from the older generations that didn't. Same thing happened with the "idiot box" (tv) and film over time.

    I don't want to be rude or anything but you ask Mick Gordon a very personal question, he is super kind and honest and tries to give you an answer and you don't even let him finish speaking?! Don't fucking interrupt people when you ask them personal questions. Simple as that.

    The first 2 seasons of KI were done by him and honestly a thousand times better than season 3’s soundtrack by Atlas plug and Celldweller. Those two can’t even compare to Mick’s talent. I’ve listened to a few songs from games and some songs I can get down to but the entire soundtrack for Doom is head-banging material.

    This was a great interview, but I just have one small suggestion that would make the listening experience way better for future videos. I actually had to stop listening on earbuds while at the gym and pick this back up when I got home to listen on proper speakers because the sibilance in your voice was actually starting to become painful to my ears. Applying a de-esser on the audio next time would help greatly. That’s all. Despite that one production critique, I thoroughly enjoyed this and look forward to more content from you. Cheers.
