Those Eden Fruits sound really good. I'd love to see what they look like in your sketch book. On the outside, and what they look like cut open. What do they smell and taste like? I love the little world you're building. I'm making my own as well, and have been slowly making original characters and creatures.
Bill I'm subscribed to a handful of channels. Yours is the only one that makes me genuinely excited when I see an alert for a new video. Your pride of craftsmanship and overall commitment to production quality really puts you in an elite group. Keep up the great work.
One of the best moments in your videos is when You open your famous sketchbook. It would be awesome to buy reproduction of it as an artbook because it is so awesome. Like the rest of Bill's Stuff :D
Honestly that sketch book is amazing; I've seen it fill up as time goes on, but I feel that it could be something you could sell on its own. A little piece of Bill with you wherever you go!
The last video I watched the day it came out and I was at work on break and it was nice. Since then I've lost my job which I loved and I loved the people I worked with. I also got really sick as well right after. Then as I'm stuck in bed this video pops up for me as I wake up and it was the joy I needed in the dark moment in my life. Thanks Bill. You inspired me to make so many things for my DND games and Warhammer terrains. I actually named my first big build a tavern for my western campaign after you in a way. The tavern is called the Respite tavern after your town of respite and the bartender inside is named Bill. I'll try my best to deliver his lines with your wonderful dry humour if my players ever try talking to him without just going in just for the bounty board.
For the love of god don't ever change. I love your videos goofiness and all. If i could afford the artwork i absolutely would because i love that style but so do other people obviously.
I agree with many of the other posts. Your videos have always oozed quality and that kind of production value absolutely takes extra time. The pace of release feels good, such that I'm always excited to see a new video and not putting it into the "watch later" pile. So, keep on with the current pace! Especially now that you are giving us all the stories, too.
The work you put in your videos are above and beyond, and well worth waiting for - I usually watch them at 1/4 speed to make them last longer, then I go rewatch all the earlier ones in reverse while waiting for a new one to come out
I dread to think just how long the stop motion animation parts take him, having done it (very briefly) for a college short film..my god that shit takes a while...
Your terrain pieces are always so creative, I loved the concept of the plant domes. And of course the design of the bounty board was wonderful- gotta love all the tiny details that add to the story (also making little papers with things on them is the most fun)! Super fantastic builds and video as always~
I've found these plastic plant tiles at the cheap shop. They're used to put on walls as exterior decoration and they're pretty cheap and have SO MANY plants on each. I've got more than I can use lol.
The Bio domes turned out amazing, I really want to take a crack at making some of those myself in the future. The bounty board was great too, and I think most of us don't mind the gap between videos as you put out quality stuff. Quality over Quantity anytime unless it's bits for the bits box, ha ha ha.
That Bounty Board is SICK! The dinosaur skeleton on top, the different posters with your art, and the paint work are all so well done. Also, I'm glad that you have finally gotten a robot toothbrush, your bots need to start taking personal hygiene more seriously. I'm not sure what to say about your cat. Great work, Bill!
Red light district/brothel would add to the towns feel over isolation? (it's the first port of call and the only one for a long time) and maybe some Respite creature farmers and stables? whenever I think of creatures from sci-fi I always think tribbles or insect farms. Insects being the food of the future supposedly. Awesome builds and story times!
I have a canon question. I guess it's canon i dont know... I love the aesthetics of everything you've made, and I think it's amazing and very cohesive. Ive been watching for awhile now, I just had a random thought pop in my head while watching this video. If all these buildings are in a very dry arid desert, to the point that they need the foodie boobies to help with moisture, why is everything covered in rust? If it never rains, what causes the rust?
I was not expecting to enjoy the makong of the bounty board more than the scrap titan- the bounty board made me quite happy- and definitely sparked the creative engines.
Bill, Your videos are FANTASTIC! Very entertaining and instructional. When you get enough terrain built for your town, You should do a special episode where you drive your "stop motion" camera, through all of the streets and foot paths - keeping the camera at ground level the whole time. You could call it "Walk-through at Respite" Have a few of your miniature characters standing around. I'm sure it would be a lot of work, but it would look great, and show off all of your skills. Cheers!
Ooh wow, love, love, love the notice board (gonna make my own witcher 3 inspired one,I think)❤️ would love stories, might actually get me to check into patreon more often. I tend to stay away because I don't want spoilers
Ahhh, what a wonderful, varied episode. I loved the domes, but the notice board was the dog's doodahs. I loved it. I'm watching Bobby Fingers as I type, very funny. I love the 35-minute format. Thanks for the brilliant show. Thanks, Bill!
I would love to just say your art work and creations have inspired me so much to horde all my sisters old toys and go hunting in stores for little unique parts , so what I'm trying to say is your awesome keep doing what your doing !!!
The sound design, stop-motion and scene transitions were on point, as always; so to was the continuing creativity you display with your builds. I’ve said this before in the comment sections of previous episodes, but your videos never cease to be a joyful viewing experience.
I discovered a little while ago that I really enjoy making things from kits--the smaller and more intricate the better. But I knew you'd converted me into loving scratch building even more, today when I found myself wandering the house looking for an emory board or a tongue depressor, then being ecstatic when I found a wooden disposable/recyclable knife with a rounded end. Rubbish as a knife, treasure for my build. which I'll probably cover with verdigris; I'm more a verdigris person than a rust person...
Hi bill, father of four, fledgling crafter and solo rpg player here. You talked about doing short stories about adventures in Respite, and I just wanted to mention I do journal entry solo rpg sessions using dcc rules and the Mythic game master emulator. I think you may enjoy the system. I would love to hear stories around adventurers based in the world you are creating. Thank you for the awesome videos and unique approach to crafting!
Every tabletop RPG town needs a bounty board. The adventures write themselves after that. And *course* they needed two domes, one wasn't nearly enough to feed everyone.
I always anticipate videos from channels like this and Studson studio etc all these content creators are great to watch and you can learn a lot by watching all of these, its great that this Sort of thing exists!
If you want to get a cool color-shift purple sheen on something for cheap, try painting it with the ink out of a standard black Bic ballpoint pen. It dries in a super rich color-shift purple.
The way i see it is....the next vid will be out when it's out. You have a ton on like the rest of us Bill. Your Kids have first priority and we understand Fella! 🙂🤝👍Love these builds. I know you said your board was Morbid, but i really like it. The skull with the lopsided jaw looks kind of confused. Gives it a comical edge. Great, great work Friend.
Hey Bill, I really enjoy the narrative that you're creating with these terrain pieces and how there also integrated with a lot of the other 28 mills you've been making. I would suggest though that your stuff needs graffiti. The whole town although probably one of the safer ones in your universe would probably still have lots of denizens putting their tags down. Just a bit of easily added painted on detail that could make your gorgeous rusty piles just that much more interesting. Cheers!
Love the way you do every part of your videos. We need an abandoned lab in a cliff side or a cave even. Some creepy scientists but......there's actually 1 left
Love the Bounty Board. The posters are great, but the decorations kick it up to the next level. The Eden Fruit lore makes perfect sense and is a logical step for a space faring society.
OH!! I can attest to the DecoArt paints being amaaazing! Great pigmentation and their selection is fantastic. I keep adding them at an alarming rate...
At some point you can probably do a coffeetable book or something like that about your setting. Story for the piece on one side, pictures of the build on the other. Neat stuff.
When your content is so good that just trying to serve the algorithm feels like a form of whip cracking. Dont rush them Bill, they're beautiful works of art your videos, and nothing makes me smile when I open RUclips much more than to see that scribble writing in a thumbnail.
I never understand why people get mad you don’t “post enough”, whenever you want or can is perfect, that’s why I follow, so when you post I don’t miss it. 😄 I love the terrain and inanimate objects videos too, it’s not boring at all, I really want to know how the well was made for example!
As someone who also likes board games, it'd be really cool to see you design one for the world you're making! Maybe some kind of tabletop game like Warhammer but more suited the scratch built stuff like the tank, and easier, quicker matches
I definitely can relate with those awaiting new Bill content, it's the kind that automatically makes my day better (along with let's game it out and mtg remy parodies). and after a while I'm like "it's gonna be about time for a new vid, I can't wait". I found the audio a bit iffy in the opening segment, it's not saturation, I think. Start at about 1:10. I really want to see you tackle the Gasmen now that you've talked about them, they give the feeling of "beware the old man in a profession where people die young" kind of feeling. Those of them surviving for long would become some sort of jadded veterans. All in all I think everyone here agree that more stuff is good and welcome, so great job expanding on the lore with every new video you make, having a narrative of sorts to follow is better for engagement than just "I made a billboard for bloking line of sights". Because, well, there is a crap ton of guys out there with billboard videos, and you avoid the pitfall of becoming more of just the same. Finally, I guess the rare kind of plant life forms on your planet would have to be restrained and monitored, otherwise they would overgrow all the rust and we can't have that, can we?
Turbo Dork paints are really nifty, but DON'T leave them in places where they can get cold, some of the colors have a habit of chunking up and clogging the dropper tip.
Few things.... 1) I love how your videos are produced. They are entertaining to watch and funny as hell ("But they'll have to f*cking walk, won't they?'). 2) The terrain looks awesome. I need to raid my local dollar stores and thrift stores for clear domes and dinosaur bones now, because I want to make a bounty board and hydroponics domes for my games. 3) I think a cool thing to do, if you start writing your own stories, would be to occasionally set a challenge for patrons to recreate something from a story via a build. Like a piece of terrain, character, monster, etc. That would be pretty cool to see how other people interpret the look of something from one of your stories. But maybe that's just me.
Not sure where you take build suggestions or ideas from, BUT here we go. a cool terrain piece could be a BEADBOT Factory. Like the BEADBOT's version of the Skynet Terminator assembly line.
Mr. Bill, absolutely marvelous video, I'm halfway through and am new to your channel! I had to pause and comment to say *PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OUT THE LITTLE EXTRA SILLY THINGS* the dots + the sound you do, they add so much character to the video and are definitely not a waste of time. You also put a lot of time and effort into these pieces, please continue to showcase it however long that may be. I could watch your videos all day and shall do so until I slumber. Anyhow, thank you for your time, good luck to you and your partner with the kiddos!
The plastic bits for the board are Shims! They are mainly used to level out doors and windows for insulation, you get flat ones and wedge type ones. Ps, I will get the package I sent before back down to you shortly!
Bill, you're going to need to scratch build a dice tower for your Stargrave games. I'm thinking something thematic to your world (rusty and freckled with rivets) that can also be used as a piece of terrain on your game board. Also, it would really be cool that when you dropped your dice into it, it would make random Bill Making Stuff sound effects. (And if you're going to insist that your friend play at the window, you'll need to make an extension for it). Thanks for all your inspiring builds!
Just found your channel and I love the editing style light hearted, inventive and self critical in a good way. Beating trolls to the punchline is probably the best defense.
Oh! An underground space in Respite? Now it looks like Bill will need to get in touch with Boylei to learn to do some underground terrain! Very exciting stuff!
Soo fricking cool. Posters are awesome ... 👌 👏 moist as a word is not ok Bill !!! Makes me want to chunder up some crustard in your jar... looking forward to the next video already... fordge on 😊
I really enjoy your videos :) You inspired me to create some monsters out of small animal and insect toys. I'm also cautiously thinking about making a crashed spaceship diorama. I like your approach, it's very forgiving of mistakes and creates opportunities out of them. And I make a lot of mistakes, heh. The only thing I lack is access to those cool weapon pack things from the cheap store--so envious of them! Can't find any in Australia's version of the Dollar Store. Anyway, thanks for the cool videos and ideas :)
I give every one of your videos my full attention, I can't always say the same for other channels I subscribe to with more frequent content. The editing and narration are so far above what most people are doing. Despite your very droll and dry humour people can tell how much joy making these brings you. Letting yourself worry about more frequent videos is just the imposter syndrome giving you a tap on the shoulder, ignore it. People are happy to wait for your videos because you make amazing videos.

Your commentary is spot on. Enteraining, and doesn't come off as "trying to hard". Awesome channel.
Fantastic work, as ever. The tedious labour that goes in to the audio and visuals is very appreciated.
Not sure where you take build suggestions or ideas from, BUT here we go. a cool terrain piece could be a BEADBOT Factory. Like the BEADBOT's version of the Skynet Terminator assembly line.
Bill’s videos are one of the only rewatchable ones on the platform.
The bounty board is amazing! Kudos. Thanks for the great video.
scrap materials, like corrugated iron, and 5 meter diameter glass domes
Yabba Dabba doo dah day
Scatter terrain all the way!
(i tried making my own after seeing yours)
I've also never got the moist thing, my mind always goes to cake, it's a good word!
I've been waiting with such anticipation for this!
I will say this. A system agnostic setting book would be awesome. This could make an awesome setting for an RPG campaign!
Just found your channel and I love the editing style light hearted, inventive and self critical in a good way. Beating trolls to the punchline is probably the best defense.
The production value of your videos are amazing each one feels so special. Take all the time you need making vids for us!
Oh! An underground space in Respite? Now it looks like Bill will need to get in touch with Boylei to learn to do some underground terrain! Very exciting stuff!
I don't get the hate for moist either, it just reminds me of boxed cake mix
Crazy Clarks mate sometimes they have similar weapons and stuff
@@damomabb9321 interesting, I'll try and find one
I love your vids so much! It would be cool too see you make parts of Respite from the journal entries too!!
Absoulutly stunning lore drop. Love your work bill
I’ve watched some of these multiple times. Love the more.
