Great review Myles, Cooke S4. One of the best lenses ever made. Cheers

Been following you on IG for a while and i now stumbled across your youtube while diving down a lens rabbit hole. All i’m going to say is that i would love to see more content on here, it truly is great! Maybe even bts to some of the shoots you post on IG.

Ah, great to hear! I do need to make more videos on this channel. I’ve been thinking about digging into some BTS photos and videos after projects have released so that’s a great idea.

They’re all great spherical lenses. The FD’s for sure have a soft and flarey look to them but the S4 mini’s have a nice subtle flare too

Loved this video. So you some lenses for a project that is shelves due to covid? Tell me about it, same story here. While we wait, we might as well try some more lenses right lol. Searching about and looking for lenses keep me sane during this.

Loved the video thanks! I rarely can find videos on recommended cinema glass on RUclips. I’m looking to “marry the glass” and info like the chromatic adoration wide open is priceless!
Would you say that it’s more worth while to get the canon CN-E over the Rokinon xeen?

On which camera do you use the S4 mini?

How do you find that s35 look, and do you have any plans on moving into the fullframe-realm? By the way, I think your aboslutely right on with the cookes, I think it is the size of the front circumference thats producing the 3d pop!

I certainly like the full frame look. It’s the thing I missed most years ago when I moved from 5Dmkii to C100 mkii. S35 still works so well for my needs. I find that even more than bokeh, I appreciate having great color rendition and overall lens character - hence my move from FF CN-E’s to s35 S4 mini’s. Once more and more FF lenses come to market, I’m sure I’ll make the jump to Monstro or mini LF. I’ll also add that the Tokina Vista Primes on a Monstro look incredible but are a little too clean for what I like.

@@MylesShank Right on, The Vistas look like the best bang for the buck. Other than that we have the Slr Magic APO´s, the Mavoprimes, the Leica´s & the Contax. For me personally its a tie between the Leica´s and the Vista´s, Leica are more budget friendly but the Vistas have that sweet three dimensionall rendering, they´re even comparable to the Arri Signatures.

@@CedrickOlausson for sure. I’ve used Vistas on set a few times. They’re huge and heavy but get the job done. But hey, you can’t go wrong with Arri primes haha
