In the video you didn’t end up removing the keyboard/touchpad from the palm rest. I bought a new shell for mine since it’s cracked around the hinges, both the bottom and top halves of the shell. Is it possible to move the keyboard and touch pad to a new shell or is that sorta impossible? I don’t want to take it apart and not be able to fix it since it’s what I use for work and school, but I’m worried since the shell is beginning to crack further due to use.
It's not impossible, however the keyboard backing plate is basically melted into place. If you free your keyboard, it might be a pain to reattach it to the new palmrest. Best to get a palmrest with keyboard already in place.

That's pretty common, the thermal paste hardens over time. If you are 100% sure you removed all the screws, just apply light upward pressure on it while wiggling.
