vocal instructions would have been nice, but as a result of watching, you showed to REINSERT the 2 warning plastics on each side, I didnt notice how they came out, so I just tried to place them on top, on the pins. but there are 2 slots in the front where they just slide in. Tks,

Lol, this is good till he gets his iPhone out and start soldering with a bolt that's not plugged in 😂 😂 😂 and the counter 😂 😂 😂 the solder should only be held on for a few seconds once plugged in and up to temp.... He's trying to rustle up business with his mate fixing these displays.... Can you see any phone numbers in the comments 😂 😂 😂.... There are 4 bulbs under the main screen. The bottom 2 are 1.3w, the top 2 are 1.5 on my 2001 e320.
The bottom 2 light up when the unit is turned on. The top 2 are red and do not light up. I do not have an electrical tester so I switched one of the red ones to a different spot and it works. These top ones never light up even with the headlights turned on.
I noticed you did not test them on this video. When are they supposed to light up?
I replaced that screen and I still can barely see it. It is no better than the old screen.
Are these bulbs supposed to make the screen more visible?
I hate when people try to make educational videos but can not speak. teach yourself first to speak then educate others.

cleve cummins Your best bet would be to find a used cluster from a wrecking yard. The center LCD can be replaced easily.
You can found it on aliexpress or ebay with the ribbon and the T-iron in Téflon.

I bought 2 sets of ribbons from ebay, the middle ribbon is wrong for my clk W208
I have a 2000 e320 and my cluster has failed idk what is wrong with it it has no lighting miles,clock, and temperature have failed gas gauge has also what could I do to further help my situation ?

No ! Except for odometer. But take care to have the same serial part. If not, I don't know the result.
Des économies de bout de chandelles de la part de l'équipementier qui fabrique ces compteurs... Et ça ne tient pas à vie.... 150 € (en moyenne) à chaque intervention.... Il était pourtant plus simple de mettre des systèmes fixes à pinces comme pour la nappe centrale (coté carte mère).
