Great video, am an architect who aspires to do resort work like Kerry hill and jean michel gathy. I did work on Aman oman but project didn’t get built. Recently worked on a private residence that was based on the clients visit to this hotel.
Quick one. How do you compare CB to a resort like COMO Parrot Cay (water, amenities, hard products, beach and sea). Funnily the prices of their villas are similar (of course PC being much closer to the US means the value is probably lower but curious of your opinion on two products you seem to love.
Luxury resorts that are NOT affiliated with the major loyalty programs such as Marriott Bonvoy, Hyatt, Hilton, IHG etc are the best! When I was planning a trip to the Maldives in 2021 during covid, I originally booked the St. Regis but decided to switch to the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru instead due to their generous 3 day cancellation policy with no deposit required at that time. I was also considering the Cheval Blanc but decided against it due to their deposit requirement and not so generous cancellation policy.
Agreed! I've been to St. Regis Maldives (back when it opened in 2017), it's okay (wouldn't go back), but not remotely close to the league of Cheval Blanc and Velaa. Both are in their own league in Maldives. And if you wanted to visit Four Seasons, I'd agree that Landaa G. is better than K. Huraa for sure. Hope you guys had a great time at FS :)
I respect everyone's own subjective opinion but to me, Cheval Blanc looks nothing like WA. Unless 80% of the resorts in Maldives look the same. There's nothing wrong with WA (and this is obviously one of WA's best property within the brand) but I'd say it's very entry level luxury and not near the league of what Cheval Blanc is. I do think WA's Stella Maris villa and Private Island are cool, though. WA looks closer to Velaa than Cheval Blanc. But again, Velaa is probably 3 leagues higher than WA. WA gets a ton of coverage (good for them!) as it's a points resort and many entry level luxury travelers visit for free/steep discount and raves of it. I'm sure they are sharing honest opinions but I suspect it's because they've likely not experienced the top of the luxury market, yet. Thus, WA (or any resort in Maldives) seems incredible. I'm sure this is a popular opinion :)
Saving this for my next Maldives trip. And two toilets is important for marriages and family holidays / anyone! Only ever seen that at Amanzoe.
Good thing you've been to Joali and Gili already. You may be ruined after CBR :)
Absolutely stunning and a place I'm hoping to take my family in the next 5-10 years. It's perfection on Earth!
Amazing. I hope you guys will love it!

I'm Visiting This Resort Again Next Month For A Week, Can't Wait😀😀
Awesome, enjoy!! I have clients who just visited and already planning to return as well. One of the best resorts!
Thanks, I Will😄😄

Best time to visit the Maldives if you wish to balance weather and cost (ie value)?

How does this compare with the Waldorf Ithaafushi? The hard product seems very similar.
