Gorgeous video, brilliant explanation. Amazing photographies. Textures, layers and strong compositions.I have taken note of your good advice. Thank you.
Thank you Derek….landscape photography isn't always wall to wall sunrises & sunsets - in fact it rarely is and this day on Balnakiel Beach was not untypical of a normal weather day. Thank you for your comment & Happy New Year….Dean
It's very easy to get a little disappointed when the light is flat and grey. But I see it as a challenge to still try and shoot some great images. You just have to readjust and get something different. It's not all sunrises and sunsets or mist and snow (although it would be nice). Thank you for watching….much appreciated. Dean
Thank you John…..yes there's normally something available to you if you look and are patient. One of the great things about working in the northern Highlands is the fast moving weather systems and so patience is usually rewarded. But there are also days when nothing happens and so looking for layers, texture and composition becomes even more powerful.
Hi Kevin…..thank you very much, greatly appreciated. I never knew how much time it took to put these little videos together, but I'll keep persevering. Yes, the Northern Highlands is a pretty special place to live and work and it just shows that paradise doesn't have to be tropical….
A very enjoyable watch again Dean, loved the vertical shot with the large rock the best. Thanks for the wee note with my calendar, nice touch and very much appreciated. 👍

Lovely images despite the flat light and calm ocean. Good subject matter. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful video Dean! You have raised great points about flat light/non-moody light conditions. Keep well . . . Keith
