Yes it was! It's a great place on a wonderful island. The weather always seems to be challenging in the Outer Hebrides…..well, the Highlands in general to be honest but that's the lure and charm of the place. Dean
I'm a big fan of lighthouses. Great video and really nice compositions of this fantastic location. I have to say, my favorite is your very first shot. The red and white lighthouse with the dark clouds in the background really make it pop!
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, it is very much appreciated. I agree, I prefer the 1st image. I think the 3rd image composition is my favourite but unfortunately the light wasn’t the most dramatic or interesting otherwise it could have and should have been a stronger composition and photograph. Dean
Thank you for your comment David…..when my Workshop season has finished, I will be able to spend more time creating content for my channel which will include less "well known locations" and more lesser known locations. Unfortunately, due to my commitments with Workshops, my time is very limited at the moment and hence I am filming at the locations I have been lately. I have taken your comment on board and I hope you will continue to support my new channel as it develops in time. Dean
thanks for your comprehensive answer. I write down a few things about the locations for a photo trip to be planned. And it's great to visit the lesser-known locations as well. They are certainly no less beautiful! I have learned a lot through your channel.
It is a great location……I didn't know there was a pool room. I'll look out for it next month when I'm back on the island. No worries…..let me know when you're next up in the northern Highlands…..Dean
Hi Robert….thank you for your comment and watching my new channel. I hope you enjoy seeing a little from the Scottish Highlands. Thank you for subscribing….very much appreciated.
I'm not an aspiring photographer and simply point and shoot with my mobile. Nevertheless, I do pick up on your tips for composition which are most useful. There's one thing that I dont care for in professional shots, which is down to personal preferences I guess, and that's where the sea and clouds look too soft (neutral density filter?), as I prefer the scene to look just as it did on the day. Thanks for you videos - I do enjoy them.
Thank you for taking the time to comment Dave, it is very much appreciated. I agree with you, in most cases I also prefer to retain the energy of the skies and water. However, on this occasion I wanted to test myself and my equipment in a very strong wind. I hope you continue to watch my future episodes. Dean
Beautifull! Love it Dean! Thank you for taking me with you on your journey!
Thank you for your comment & I'm glad you enjoyed it. Dean
Lovely memories of our trip there with you last year when the photographic conditions were just as challenging!
