Nigel's photos speak for themselves, but can we stop for a moment to think about how much work he puts in these videos. Putting the camera down, walking away, 'making that particular scene', walking back for the camera. Amazing stuff.
And for the first time I could utilize your invaluable tips and shoot photos I'm pleased with. I'm more than happy! Thank you!

Thanks Nigel. We used to go to Glen Affric for our holidays in pre-teen years 50 years ago. Walking the hills, fishing the river, staying in the hunting cottage by the suspension bridge using Calor gas for light. Great memories of the most beautiful glen in Scotland. Loved the shots.

    Three things:
#1 I love the music you used in this video.
#2 One of my favorite things about you, Nigel, is your enthusiasm. I believe it's genuine and not something you're forcing for the camera. There's something very satisfying about watching someone who's having a great time.
#3 The pano was my fave =)

Nigel, I had a rare Sunday off and so was able to enjoy today's video from you earlier than usual. Which meant my wife watched it with me. "He's the one you have prints from?" "Yep." She asked a question I have to admit I hadn't thought much of, "Does he have someone to film him, or does he set up two tripods?" I know that sometimes you have something with you, but am guessing that most of the time you are out solo. While I wouldn't expect you to reveal any trade secrets, we'd both love to hear how you do what you do in the field. Thanks again for another great offering.

Watching the video makes me greatful for having had the opportunity to spend 3 years of my lifetime in Aberdeen. I went to Glen Affric on several occasions. As students we stayed the night on a camp site and then set off really early in the morning. Despite being in a tight budget at the time, it probably was the best time I ever had there. The most authentic experience in any case.

Enjoyable video as always. Interesting that in less than great conditions, we can have an enjoyable visit somewhere and get some good shots just walking around and observing, and seeing what crops up. Sometimes this is more satisfying than a better weather near honeypot location.

Amazing location and great advice for the most common lighting conditions here in the UK!!! At least for me when I go out with my camera on days off!!! Love the composition of the 3rd print with a diagonal line of trees with a dead one in the centre, the lake behind and then snow capped mountains with glimpses of colour in the sky. Looked amazing printed 👏👏👏

I know why your back hurts, 6:20 backpack in wired position and fully stuffed.
1, A polite and friendly suggestion is to use a bigger pack so everything gets closer to the body and creates a better weight position for your back.
2, Or Use a Big open hiking backpack and fit camera gear in smaller bags- or combine with gear positioned on the "hipps" as Military, Rangers, Hunters, Sweden Secret Forces use,
    If it saves your back.
But I think the best and easiest result would be a bigger backpack that puts weight closer to the body (Air has no weight and distribution is way better) Now you have weight on est, 30 cm or more out from the body. If a mate has a Bigger hiking bag, try it and see the benefits. And it's a friendly tip from years of experience. Can't say more.
Btw, at 12:20 the image has some nice vibes, It talks. A good one.Thx!

Love the shot with the 3 trees, the peninsula jutting out on the thirds and those knockout mountains! Have been here once before, but in summer - never again - midge to the maximum. The kids ran a mile when they saw the swarms - it really was that bad. You definitely hit this in the right season, all but for the light, but those images are great! I am off to Skye next week, and think it'll be a mix of rain and snow - could be similar dull conditions - may work with the moody Cuillins with snow on the top?! I'll take on board your tips on shape and form of the environment. Cheers, Ian :)
