    Thanks so much for this! It sounds like a pretty low cost of living and I believe I can manage it on an average teaching salary there. This made me so confident in going.

    Honestly, R9000 for all that you mentioned is like a dream in SA. The cost of living is really low in Thailand compared to SA (for working class people) and there is more value for money there. It's surprising. I saw many teaching posts offering like 40k baht and when I made the conversion to Rand, I saw that it is more or less what I make here and so I thought, "hay ngiya robheka mos." Places like Hong Kong, Korea, China and Japan are offerring 30k+ in Rand. But their cost of living is high AF.
    This video just gave me good context and I watched your apartment tour, the fact that you have such an apartment from that much is surprising, when it's compared to the Rand.

    Hi sis, thanks so much for the videos. They're very insightful 🌻🌻Would you consider doing a grocery haul or filming how much essentials cost in the shop? And maybe getting information from your friends who got jobs while in SA as to how they went about it please

    • @ugugundlovu
      @ugugundlovu  3 года назад +1

      I’ll do this at some point. Probably during summer Holidays (April). And you apply for jobs on Ajarn. Also Eduplus is an agency that helps you find jobs. But they will most probably advise you to get here first and then contact them once you’ve done so. But always worth a try

    • @ugugundlovu
      @ugugundlovu  2 года назад +1

      Make a reservation for return with another airline, different from the one you’ll use to fly over. They can’t verify whether you paid for it or not when you give them your “return ticket” itinerary

      Depends on the situation at the time. When I was in SA it took about 4-5 weeks. Now there seems to be delays in most departments so it could take even longer. I think Dirco alone is said to take 3-4weeks nowadays

    Basically cost of living is very low

    • @ugugundlovu
      @ugugundlovu  3 года назад

      I don’t think very low is quite the statement, but when you look at the cost of living versus salary, you have a fair amount left over, which is the goal

      @@ugugundlovu but you can't even rent a house with R2500 in SA, mainly comparing such, made me say it's low. As a visit with foreign currency, it's a bargain
