I just visited Thailand and instantly fell in love with the place. The cost of living there is lower than in my country, the Philippines. I am very much interested in applying for any online English tutorial, as I have a good background in using the language. I am currently working as customer care specialist at IHG Hotels and Resorts Corp., and had some experience in English tutorials online. I just want to know how and where to start. I am currently watching a lot of videos about Thailand to acquaint myself of this country.
Great information! I am looking at returning to Thailand August or September. Real estate looks interesting. And eventually, of course, the online thing. Good to see some different options besides teaching. Cool video!
I was one of the lucky ones... worked and lived there for 9 years off and on... commercial diver on the rigs in the gulf... seems like a life time ago now.. these days I am just a tourist..
Which countries can you work as a digital nomad as a teacher, pay some taxes and qualify for the country's health insurance, thailand, spain, colombia, etc.?
It was pretty useful bro.. Looking at my early retirement plans in a few years.. This info is helpful.. I already guessed teaching English or working online would be likely viable options.. But this was great hearing it from someone like yourself out there etc.. Please update in a year or two if you feel it's necessary hey?.. Good wishes on your journey friend.. 😊👊❤️

Hi Mike! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I was wondering if you can advise me on something. I'm reaching 40, have a bachelor's degree, and I'm a US citizen. I've been to Thailand years ago and did some border runs to stay longer so I'm familiar with the culture and environment to some extent. Simply put, I miss life out there. My question is how much time would I have to dedicate to start an online business that I can rely on instead of teaching English? Is it feasible to spend one full day on the weekend in-between lesson planning and grading students' to make the business a reality? Or would you recommend spending as much time as possible at home developing it and then moving abroad? I realize the latter approach makes more sense but quite honestly I'm tired of life here. I miss the food and excitement of Bangkok, and mind you I'm not even a party goer. I would greatly appreciate your input 🙏 Thank you
Hi Mike! your videos have been incredibly helpful! I am hoping to move to Phuket in January 2024 to pursue a career as an English teacher. I am newly graduated with a PGCE but I have no work experience. I am worried I will get to Thailand and I wont find a job. What are my chances and do you have any advice?
Question - Do most/all TEFL jobs have a maximum age for teachers that they will consider? I'm 66 and just moved to Thailand and I was thinking of teaching English.
What is your advice for a foreign entrepreneur in Thailand? I own a few businesses in the US. If I were to leave, I would close or pause the businesses and sell the assets.
@R.LeeReese Hiya. I've decided on a 3 year plan. I will be in the US for a couple more years working. Then, I will sell my businesses and other assets and move to Thailand for a year or two. I'm researching visas now. In the interim, I'm traveling to Japan and the Philippines in January and February.

It's best to work with an agency to learn the ropes. Then, you can potentially set up your own operation if things go well.
