    Jamani ist höchst konzentriert und passt ganz genau auf, was das Mädchen mit den Bausteinen macht. 🥰👀 Große Familie 🥰❤

    What a fantastic video. Ktembe is a handsome guy - looks like he spends a lot of time at the gym doing bench-presses! 😂 Jamani is such a smart cookie! She was transfixed by the toys - especially when the little girl was building with the bricks. JJ seemed to lose interest as soon as he realised the toy was on the other side of the glass - or maybe because he's six, he's just too cool for toys. 😂 Gorilla and orangutan kids seem be drawn to human children - maybe they recognise potential playmates of their own age. Anyway, thank you for another wonderful treat❣

    Did you know that there was a baby gorilla delivered by surprise there at the Columbus Zoo recently? Some news is circulating that they thought mom Sully was a male gorilla-- which I find hard to believe, but that is what is being reported. Sully is apparently the daughter of Shalia and sister to newborn Willy B. III who are in Zoo Atlanta.

    • @larrysanimalsafari
      @larrysanimalsafari  Год назад

      Yes, it did make the news here in Cleveland. What a nice surprise for them.

    Hopefully they will let them have them; the enrichment may stave off boredom.

      Did you zoom in and see that surface? It’s like the moon, little craters and bumps everywhere. Aw, she was just in first grade and had the crowd watching her. (Nervous I bet) I couldn’t stack and film at the same time, so she helped me.

  • @ABlackCountryWoman

    Why are visitors allowed such close contact? It's invasive and teasing the baby with enrichment objects that she, herself, cannot touch, is creepy. That's the entire yard and the two troops alternate days, which means one group is indoors all day? I'm sorry, but that makes me angry. They all look so sedate...bored I'd imagine. They need a bigger environment with trees and little caves/nooks to get away from the visitors who are so close to that glass. It should be all about the gorilla and not revenue.

    • @larrysanimalsafari
      @larrysanimalsafari  Год назад

      Compared to other zoos I thought Columbus did a nice job with outdoor exhibit. Hills, climbing space, tunnels are there/ later in the video. Alternating days outside is a bummer. Gorillas don’t spend a lot of time up in trees, Orangs do. More bush would be nice. As for close contact… I see it’s generally the young gorillas are curious and approach windows. It appears to me gorillas (primates) are drawn to human babies and toddlers too. They approach to examine kids like we do to them. The adults- don’t care too much were visiting, they see it’s just more humans and they are not interested in us. Their indoor exhibit needs a revamp but that’s up to Columbus zoo to handle.

    As a child in the 70's I loved seeing the animals at the Zoo. As an adult, in the 90's-2000's, I hated seeing, especially primates and big cats, caged. While today, I still hate seeing them caged, it makes me even sadder to know that between habitat destruction and the illegal pet trade, we must cage them to help save them....people suck sometimes 😢

    • @larrysanimalsafari
      @larrysanimalsafari  Год назад

      Yep, we can be their worst enemies (habitat destruction for so many of them)
