Might just buy a new one, eh? They win. Even appliances are becoming non-repairable short life consumables, and shareholders are overjoyed. Consumers every day vote for a disposable goods (not what you did, you tried and discovered how hard it can be). Sadly, it is now getting to the point where it is almost impossible to find a repairable brand of product.
Actually, my wife won ;) She's been wanting new appliances for a while now, and I decided to go ahead and buy a new washer/dryer set after she complained that the new dryer I was going to get wasn't an exact replacement (it was slightly smaller). She had a fit about that, and I told her then I'd keep throwing parts at this one until it was fixed. "Well, then you'll have to replace the door seal, because it's mildewy!". I just gave up at that point. The sad thing is, this was an easy repair (to fix the leak), but I just did something I shouldn't have. After all, the wiring harness had lasted over ten years exactly where it was, so in hindsight trying to move it was stupid. A momentary lapse of reason, as Pink Floyd would say.
That's way more trouble than I'm willing to deal with. Besides, the most expensive easy-to-ship parts had failed (circuit boards). And I wasn't completely certainthat there was nothing wrong with the display board. LG is paying me 50 bucks to haul it away, that's good enough for me. Funny story, I had a bulk pickup scheduled, and could have gotten a free haul-away, so I hauled this 217lb beast down the driveway to the curb. Then I found out that if I order direct from LG, THEY pay ME to haul it away, so back up into the garage it came!

Part it out - you'll get a lot more money for it to buy another washer.
