  • The protein for salad bowls benefit immensely from the ‘kiss of the wok’. As soon as that spiced chicken touches down into the searingly hot embrace of your wok, you’ll know what I mean. The high heat and smoky caramelisation from the wok give you the illusion that you fired up a grill and spent time tending to it when all you actually did was stir-fry.
    This is just one of the unexpected yet delightful recipes to be found in my latest cookbook, cookdinehost.c...

    Thank you for the video. I noticed that you used olive oil and probably a different oil in the wok (?). Can you also do a video in regard of different cooking oils (what is best to be used in different situations) ? 🙂

    If you are grating garlic, you can do so without peeling it first. Also, to get rid of the garlic smell on your fingers, run them under cold water and then rub your fingers on the steel of your tap/faucet and then back under the water - don’t know why it works but it does!

    I tried making sumac chicken before, but was disappointed with it's one-dimentional sour-lemony flavour. You could say it left a sour taste in my mouth... 🤨
    I will try again and pair it up with a nice salad with a dressing.
    I LOVE a yoghurt-mint dressing, so I can't go wrong with that. 😊

    I love garlic- I love still being able to smell it on my hands long after I’ve washed them several times.
    If there was a garlic perfume I’d prolly buy that sh.t.

    Marion, long time listener first time caller. I have an induction cook top. Would that get as hot as a gas ring on high? Seems that everything takes a long time to preheat. Also I'm a Kiwi and now living in Fort Worth Texas US.

    • @Marionskitchen
      @Marionskitchen  3 месяца назад +2

      Induction should actually get your pans hotter, quicker. Flat-bottomed woks are designed to sit flat on your induction or electric cooktop so they you can heat your wok up without any issues. If you’ve got other pans that are taking a long time to heat on induction you might want to check if they’re actually induction-friendly 😃 Hope that helps!

      You can also sear the chicken in a frying pan or grill it in a BBQ! All good options 😃 I just always have my wok on my stovetop and I like how hot it gets and the flavour it imparts (mine is a seasoned wok).
