We don't give clothes for Christmas any more because our whole family realized how picky we are about our fit, color, texture, and cut.
But when I was a kid, my mom would buy me socks, and wrap them around a small bottle with bells or pennies in it. When I shook it, it didn't sound like socks/clothing! It would throw me off every year! Crafty mom! 🥰
I buy my husband socks every Christmas, so I guess he's safe... Meowy Catmas and a purry New Year!

@@Nova-cb3fv this only works on children who don't have great imagination or black cats. I tried this on my daughter when she was 3 to get her into new cloths. The problem we have 2 black cats and my daughter has no fear and a good imagination. The Yule Cat now delivers presents to our house because my kid is weird. She is 5 and this is still a thing. It doesn't help that both our black cats were born on Christmas and Christmas eve.

Working at a shelter, often people are so scared of our sweet black cats they don't get adopted. These illustrations don't help.
Njm luv black cats! But God always blessed me with special needs cat boys I never expect to meet that people just surprise me with! I believe our late cats choose our next cats ! Because despite my boys special physical needs I always get surprised with the best ever cats for my life at the times they come into my life! All cats are blessings!

@@njmcd if I allowed "CAT ILLUSTRATIONS" to make my decision on owning a cat (I have 18 currently) I'd NEVER OWN ONE, let alone even be in close proximity to a cat for fear I'm going to be attacked viciously, mauled, bitten, and clawed into oblivion. And that goes for all the horror movies that feature the cat as the villain or evil entity.
People need to quit allowing some stupid made up cat movie, cat story/urban legend/old wives tales/superstition, or cat illustration(including these A.I. renderings) to deflect one from owning ANY BREED or COLOR of cat.
Quit falling for and believing this balderdash, if I had, I'd have NEVER known the love, allure and playfulness of cats/kittens NO MATTER THEIR COLOR or BREED!
ALL CATS of ALL COLORS ARE GREAT!

Sadly, black cats are still tortured and suffer horribly from their association with evil.

I buy myself my holiday clothes each year. Usually at least one new Cat themed holiday sweater with a hood and front pocket for my hands and warm sock slippers.

I think we need to update the legend. Instead of eating people who don't get clothing for Christmas, the Yule Cat eats people who don't give toys for Christmas. Of course you have to be careful when changing Kitty's diet: You don't want them developing upset tummy. (I suppose you especially don't want them developing upset tummy when they're bigger than a house and eat people. Ick.)

I'd love to have a very large Animated Icelandic Yule Cat in my Christmas Display, right along with the Yule Lad "TROLLS"(animated), including their mother and cauldron, which would also be animated as well. Now how cool would that be in an American Christmas Display in the United States.

@@ThePurringJournal I've got my brain in gear to try and figure out how I can actually build the Yule Cat using RGB LIGHTS and using the RGB lighting for the animations. If I manage that, might try figuring out how to do the same for the Yule Lads and their mom. Gotta get the main character, Yule Cat figured out and working, then work on the others.
If I can pull it off, will post my results on my RUclips channel.
