Cheers to my Father-in-law, who had just a little Goodfellow in him also. We miss you Dad!
Gasp! These visuals! This really almost show us the potential for oppressive rhetoric in elf lore. The factories of the Victorians were staffed by very real impoverished child laborers at the same time as wealthy children were being understood as separate from adult and doted upon with ever evolving traditions and conventions like those involved with Christmas. In that context, how convenient for oppressive factory owners and the rich to encourage parents and kids to associate toy making with stories of elves, a happy magical workforce of little people who could be imagined as the perfect willing workers, always working under an equally benevolent boss.
as far as I remember, the English translation of Grimm's fairy tales is incorrect; it should be "heizelmaenchen" and not elves, they are closer to gnomes or household spirits than to elves
@Silent_Soliloquies I'm sure you're correct because my German is rusty and I only remember what my mom told me when I was little and I believe that leprechauns could be closely related to the Heinzelmaennchen
The Heinzelmännchen are a helpful household spirits or kobolds associated with the city of Cologne in Germany, akin to brownie or broonie (Scots), also known as a brùnaidh or gruagach (Scottish Gaelic), is a household spirit or hobgoblin from Scottish folklore.. The little house gnomes are said to have done all the work of the citizens of Cologne during the night, so that the inhabitants of Cologne could be very lazy during the day. According to the legend, this went on until a tailor's wife got so curious to see the gnomes that she scattered peas onto the floor of the workshop to make the gnomes slip and fall. The gnomes, being infuriated, disappeared and never returned. From that time on, the citizens of Cologne had to do all their work by themselves.. ;)

Since you like "the Witcher" and "Supernatural" try "the Dresden files" book series.
You won't be disappointed.
The red & and white color scheme & flying reindeer originate in the amanita muscaria mushroom.
Norse mythology really has corrupted so much of what we have. Even the most simplest things we think are okay turn out to have been norse corruption. Hard to see how things are in this world now knowing where it came from.
Your Christmas series is 🔥! ♥️♥️♥️ I always click so fast! I’ve learned so much more about Christmas and things I’ve always heard about more on this channel than anywhere else. Your topics are so well thought out. Great job!🎉
I pray that whoever watches this video will be blessed with God's light and love that will always warm your heart and bring new hope to your life. 🌞🙏
Uno reverse card play on that brotha
This is a good telling of how religion and literature have affected our ideas. I just had to stop for a moment though …. the image of Robin Williams playing Puck just glimmered in my mind.
He was always a little bit Puckish but, did he ever actually play Goodfellow?
Cheers to Robin this Christmas Day. Blessings to his family, who are without him.
As a result of our degrading of the elves, most children these days are replaced by changlings.
Can we get a DNA test on that?
Makes sense
I was thinking the same thing! Lol
The elves in the Santa's tail resemble gnomes more than elves.
❤ amazing
Making cookies for Mr Keebler ?
up mi killa 👍🇯🇲
as far as I remember, the English translation of Grimm's fairy tales is incorrect; it should be "heizelmaenchen" and not elves, they are closer to gnomes or household spirits than to elves
@Silent_Soliloquies I'm sure you're correct because my German is rusty and I only remember what my mom told me when I was little and I believe that leprechauns could be closely related to the Heinzelmaennchen
Google translate renders "heizelmaenchen" as "Brownies".
From that time on, the citizens of Cologne had to do all their work by themselves.. ;)
I'm a professional Santa Claus. I shared this with my Elves.
Cool beans
Thank you.
Towards the end of the video at 20:29 there is a woman that bears a striking resemblance to actress Jenna Coleman of Doctor Who.
Saint Nicolas was born in Lycia under the Roman Empire!
He goes by several different names:
Santa Claus
Father Christmas 🧑🎄
Sinter Klaus
Kris Kringle
Saint Nicholas
He's got other names from Russia,Asia, and Scandinavia and he's got a witch in Italy and other associates named Krampas and Black 🖤 Peter
Them we have elves of the fantasy world
Yes I knew. Its my folklore, Im swedish. Like I said my mother told stories of elves of different size and character.
Eleves by the way people misunderstood them back then they are known as Pleiadians the Gelactic Federation Of Light has them they are pale and they are as tall as humans are but they come from the planet called Era and they are telepathic and empathic as well they are beings of light and love.
Where did you get all the info from about elves also what AR program did you use?
My Mom often called me her "changeling child" because I could NOT possibly be HER daughter 😏
My favorite elf movie is lord of the ring
And then you have JRR TOLKIENS eleves of middle earth
which were heavily inspired by the elves of Norse mythology
Good afternoon
This is why we must do our own research n learn the origins of every story
😮 just like HellBoy pt. 2.....dark elves lore......
So Santa found these near godlike creatures and proceeded to conquer and subjugate them to his will ?
Impressive ........ very impressive indeed .
Santa is the o.g. Diddy
Elves were origionally Asians, it's obvious - longevity, advanced technology for period, youthful appearance
Anyone here ever read Elfquest?
I loved elf quest ❤and their wolves❤
@@williamvasquez1677 always wanted to buy an issue, but never did. But Nightcrawler was nicknamed "elf" by Kitty Pryde if that counts.
I haven't yet but if you're looking for an entertaining book series try "the Dresden files".
You won't be disappointed
Any wonder why some don't celebrate Christmas?
I love the Keebler Elves.
Also sci-fi made elves aliens we call Vulcans.

Any chance of doing the origin of the colors red and green and why they were chosen for decorating with during the Xmas season or does it have something to do with the evergreen trees and btw can you also do it for all the holidays like with Halloween and the orange and black that is used to decorate the house with
