Sorry for the wait on the uploads recently, I've been super super busy preparing for these upcoming percussion engagements (I'm leaving for Japan in a week (performance + masterclass in Hiroshima), 3 x new pieces completed for 5 solo feature concerts with Defying Gravity Percussion, 5 x masterclasses in Apr-May, Marimbafest 2024 and two other concerts in Jun-Jul, USA tour planning for Oct-Nov) but am still working to make lots of content! You can also follow me on @thestudiofamily on Instagram for more regular posting :) Anyway, I've got one more PASIC vlog coming and then some other videos I'll be making - maybe not every week for now but still as regularly as I can. Thank you for sticking around!! #TheStudioFamily
Can I ask you what you do think abiut 4.6 marimbas? For who can't afford 5 octave marimba, do you think it would be a kind of improvement to buy a 4.6 instead of 4.3? How much repertoire you can support with a 4.6 marimba in your opinion? Does it worth it?
Honestly the diff between a 4.3 and 4.6 is very minor (only four extra notes) and there's very few pieces that are 4.6 specific, but heaps for 4.3 and 5.0 specific, so you're better off getting one or the other and not a 4.6 :)
@@AdamTanPercussion thanks in advance for your kind reply. But for example, i was thinking about guitar or violin repertoire to be transpose one octave below, that it's possibile with a 4.6 marimba
I just bought your graduated set of mallets, and I absolutely LOVE them. They are AMAZING. ❤️❤️❤️ The attack sounds great and still allows for a lot of the depth of the sound. Tysm
